Hi There, welcome to Aljohmor, our little piece of paradise!. We are a small working farm with a variety of farm animals and offer a brand new entire self contained guest unit attached to our home for a good old kiwi farm stay experience. We also provide an Equine stay for those who wish to bring their horses on holiday too! We are conveiniently located on State Highway 1 close enough to the city yet rural enough to have the country experience - on the way to the beauiful Bay of Islands.
“Awesome place in a beautiful location. Very clean and organized. I enjoyed my stay very much there, and Alana and her partner were great. Great communication and flexibility from Alana - as we had to extend our booking several times because of my work schedule.”
My place is good for Solo Adventurers. This room has a very comfortable king single bed. My place is a few minutes from town by car yet set into the bush. If you need a double bedroom I have another listing "Cosy Artsy Retreat set into native Bush." I welcome walkers on Te Araroa - The Great Walk. If you would like a meal I can provide one for you. Let me know in advance. Price negotiable. Please check in after 4:30 pm as I work at a school and am usually at school until that time
“Julie is a delightful host, and her space is beautiful. She is easygoing, friendly, and happy to share her knowledge of the area with you, enjoy a chat at the end of the day, or leave you in peace if you aren't up to socializing. If you're staying with her, I recommend having coffee and cake at The Quail Cafe, and exploring the quarry gardens there.”
The Cottage at Wai Rua, west of Whangarei, is approximately 18 minutes drive from Kamo via Pipiwai Road. It is a hidden gem with amazing rural views, including massive volcanic rocks, lakes and ponds, set in a beautiful tranquil garden. It can be a getaway retreat or stopover.
“From the moment my partner and I arrived at Wai Rua, we were greeted by happy chickens and pigs. As we made our way to the cottage, we were met by Elaine and Allen. Both were incredibly welcoming and showed us where the hot tub was, and gave us some tips for exploring the property (sadly the weather didn’t allow this). The cottage was immaculately kept and had lots of little touches, including breakfast supplies (bacon, fresh off the farm eggs, bread and homemade muesli). The surroundings are nice and rustic, making for a nice time to unwind, whether it was in the wood fired hot tub or with a book outside the cottage. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience.”
