Bamboo Cottage is one of 4 small island style cottages on the water's edge. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood mid-island makes it uniquely accessible to the busy West End bars and nightlife yet offers peace and solitude away from the crowds. This cottage is perfect for 2 people — accommodates 3.
“The view is absolutely breathtaking from the second floor deck to the hammock by the waters edge, even better than the pictures. During check in the taxi driver dropped my Rum and coke. We were amazed when Julian turned up at our door an hour later with a bottle of rum along with coke as a welcoming gift, indicative of the thoughtfulness of our hosts. We were here during the closure of Honduras due to Coronavirus and although Julian and Eileen were called away for medical reasons they continued to update us on the rapidly changing situation and express their concern for our well being. A shout out to their neighbour Silvia who was there to help us with whatever we needed and more. We caught the last flight back to Canada but were able to enjoy our private lagoon and daily snorkeling right up to our departure despite public beaches at large resorts being shut down for much of the prior week. The answers to the questions I asked before arrival follow: Yes, the windows are screened and the screens are in perfect shape Yes, they have beach towels No, you do not need air conditioning as the ocean breezes are more than enough plus the ceiling fans and one free standing fan that we didn't use. Yes, you can access the lagoon/tidal pool without water shoes as there is a sand entrance No, we did not have an issue with sand flies or mosquitoes although we did apply repellent regularly. Yes, the internet was strong enough to stream the news and was consistent as well. Yes, there was a large Eldon's Supermarket in French Harbor which was a 10 minute taxi ride away”
The Beach Casita is part of the Paradise Regained properties and is a rustic, self-contained oceanfront retreat with views of the Caribbean ocean, access to the Paradise Regained oceanfront and some of Utila's best reefs, excellent snorkeling and a saltwater swimming pool. With beach chairs available and our beach gazebo with hammocks and Adirondack rocking chairs, you might not want to leave. But if you do, it's just a 15 minute walk to the center of town.
“The Beach Casita is a little piece of island paradise. It’s perfectly situated on the island to remain quiet and relaxing all day long while still being close enough to everything you could possibly need. Grab a book and a drink and you’ll find yourself able to lose hours just sitting in the gazebo or swaying in a hammock. The picture of the shower does not do it even a bit of justice, it’s phenomenal. You feel like you’re showing in a work of art. Scott and Stephanie are great hosts and provided so many suggestions on places to eat and things to see. My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time and would definitely plan a return trip to stay at Paradise Regained.”
At the edge of the La Tigra National Park we offer a quiet wooden cabin with two rooms and a big porch with a great view over San Juancito and the Cantarranas valley. A rich continental breakfast is included. We can serve you a delicious vegetarian dinner if you tell us at least a day before.
“It is our first experience with airbnb, we decided to visit Jorg and Monika, in their beautiful cabin Mirador El Rosario, it is a place that gave us a more than satisfactory experience, so much so that my wife told me: "That I was delighted with the place and the people ", as we say in Honduras:" Be cacheton with her ". Now speaking of the hospitality of Jorg and Monika, they know how to treat their guests, they are friendly and courteous, good conversationalists and they guide you (Without selfishness) what you can do in San Juancito, they know the place very well. If you are looking for a place to get out of the hustle and bustle of big cities or the pressures of work, this place is for you. For my wife and I, it was a respite, a relax, a place to disconnect from everyone. Of course, for a moment! It has incredible views, and best of all: We can return!”
