“My wife and I stayed here for 6 days in December for our babymoon - this is a truly fantastic experience. I can echo the comments of the previous reviews. This paradise is very much part of and within nature. That said, make sure you are prepared for what that entails. You will see wildlife - both the cute and the not so cuddly. As long as you set your expectations and you are realistic with your level of comfort - this place can go down as the stay of a lifetime. Finding the place was very easy - we took a cab from the airport to the ferry dock and caught the water taxi to water island. Cassandra was waiting for us to arrive with a golf cart and brought us to the place and showed us around. She a very warm, welcoming, and genuine person. We stayed in the Boho Butterfly Yurt, which was a work of art - beautiful stonework with embedded glass bottles gave it a spectacular shimmer especially at dawn or with moonlight. :) It had electricity, lights, some sitting space, a dresser, romantic candles, a bed with mosquito net, a fan, and great airflow. (We could hear the ocean with the fan off). We felt very safe, and private staying in the Yurt. You will likely see harmless bugs as you are staying in the jungle... follow general common sense and you will be fine. Shake out your clothes, shoes before you wear them - keep your suitcases closed as not to allow bugs/lizards to crawl in while you are out enjoying the beach! Don't store any food in the Yurt. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with towels. They are shared, but I didn't find it to be an inconvenience at any time during our stay. The common area (kitchen, dining room, hangout room) was really cool. We cooked breakfast for ourselves each day by bringing groceries from the market on St. Thomas as others have commented. It was a very welcoming environment and the other guests during our stay were great to chat/hangout with. We spent most of our time down at Honeymoon beach - Real gem. If it looks busy, just wait, we found there were some days with cruise ship excursions that would stay for about 2 hours, and then the beach would empty out. Both Heidi's and Dingy's lived up to our expectations - local spots with friendly people. Great food! In summary, if you can handle a rustic spot - book this. You will not regret it. This is not they type of place to be pampered in luxury - don't expect it. My wife and I had an absolute blast of a time and this stay will go down as one of our favorites. Thanks Cassandra for everything! Can't wait to go back!”

“The Airbnb on the Taboo is amazing, wondrous, breathtaking, extraordinary, comfortable! The beautiful memories will stay with me forever! The Taboo is anchored in an exquisite harbor where views day and night are heavenly. Miranda goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and happy during your stay, without being intrusive. A picturesque white sandy beach with crystal blue water to swim, lounge, and snorkel is on Water Island, only minutes to shore, visible from the Taboo at all times. Miranda and her crew will dinghy you to and from at your convenience. The food and entertainment Miranda recommenced on the beach is great. I also self toured, explored Water Island, rented a golf cart for $40 to scoot around for the day taking scenic pictures, and having a lot of fun. Everyone on the island is friendly, helpful and happy. I truly want to move right in! The ferry into St. Thomas was extremely convenient. From St. Thomas take a taxi or hop on the Safari bus for $1-2 depending on your destination. I loved exploring! Many days, I lounged on the boat enjoying the ocean breeze and not much compares to being able to jump into crystal clear blue Caribbean water any time of day. Cabins and every area of the Taboo are extremely comfortable. Air conditioning is provided via a quiet generator I did not hear, but believe it hummed me to sleep. Air conditioning is offered a few hours in the morning and at night. From experience this is an extra bonus since not all boats offer the amenity. I am a single traveler and felt both safe and relaxed on the Taboo. My stress melted away and I lived in the moment. My experience is nothing short of perfect. Take some time to relax on the deck, enjoy beautiful sunrises, watch the sunset, and view the twinkling stars. I will return as soon as time allows, my home away from home. I already miss Miranda, her husband David, and son Travers. You are a lovely family. Thank you Taboo and family.💜.”

“If you are looking for a unique, unforgettable and incredible experience this is the place you need to be. When looking for a place to stay I saw a lot of hotels, beautiful yet not a memorable place to celebrate my birthday. Then I saw the sailboat SagaMuffin, read the reviews around the great hospitality and the urge to exceed expectations, and it was clear. They put in contact before my stay to ask around my what food I preferred and my itinerary to adjust themselves. When arriving to the island I had plans to visit Virgin Gorda but I lost the ferry, I call Jo and she proceed to suggest a plan for another adventure in Water Island, this was so important to me because because what I had planned out faded and I was so clueless around what to do, she just said “no problems, if you want this then you’ll go here, this is how...” Later that day, they picked me up at the beach and arrived to the sailboat. My first impression was how big it was I was amused of everything. They showed us around and I felt very welcomed. They have two cats that are the best. They would ask you to pet them when they seem like it, other than that you won’t even see them. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has warm water. You must take a picture when dawn from the window of the room. The food is delicious and you will feel like royals with Jo as she offers you something every hour or so. In my opinion what made this trip incomparable is the need for Jo and Lo to make your experience great, just tell them what you want and somehow they’ll make it happen, and the amazing view which will bring you all sorts of comments from friends and family. Thank you Jo and Lo for such an amazing stay at you home, you made me feel in family.”
