Get close to nature and history at the very small village, Borðeyri. Tangahus guesthouse is few meters from the sea. Looking out of the windows you may feel like being on board a boat. The view from windows heading towards north is fantastic, especially at sunset in the summer time. During winter time our guests often see beautiful northern lights. Guests love to take walk to the beach and listen to the mysterious sound of the sea and seabirds. If you are lucky you can also see seals!
“We had a really good time at Ingas place. They have multiple rooms in the house but we only had been there with 4 other travelers which was very nice. Everything was very clean what we highly appreciated. The showers are very modern and also very clean. The self check-in worked super easy and we didn’t have any problems in the house. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was decorated with a lot of love which was very nice. We would come back!”
The farmhouse, Borgir is located in the North West and is an ideal basecamp for visits to West Iceland. The house is only 10m from the ocean on Borgir, a land of it's own 2200 hectares.
“The house by the sea at Borgir is one of my favourite places that I have visited so far in Iceland! It is a 25-minute drive north of the ring road and it is very remote and isolated. There are no neighbours. To us, this was paradise!!! No light pollution at night! We saw a million stars and the northern lights. We also took a walk down the beach and saw 5 seals hanging out. The view is stunning. There is a "shop" to purchase hand-made goods in the house. There is a sauna and a washing machine and we really enjoyed our stay. Gudbjorg is very friendly!!! We will definitely return.”
Get close to nature at Bessastaðir. Cozy old house with warm character, big garden, many bird species around. The view is magnificent all year round, amazing sunset and sunrise. The house is close to the sea and it is very nice to take walk to there and listen to the mysterious sound of the sea and seabirds. You are also free to take walk around our land, as long as you are not walking on our hay fields.
“What a little piece of paradise - located on the edge of the fjord, an amazing night sky and our first experience of the northern lights as a bonus! We will never forget our stay! The cottage is cosy warm, very clean and the beds were extremely comfy. The kitchen is well equipped to make a meal. We had good communication with Guony Helga and excellent instructions on how to find the accommodation. All in all, a perfect stay and highly recommended.”
