Our House is in a small village close to Jaffna. It's a beautiful place surrounded by nature. We are a young couple (Sri lanka/europe) and we love to travel too. It is our passion to bring you the village live and the tamil culture closer.
“This was by far the best homestay we ever had! The simple room had a fan and we got an extra mattrass for our daughter with no extra charge. Heyu and Micha have a cozy little house in a beautiful green garden with outside shower (if you like). It's situated in a little village where they know virtually everyone. People from the village drop by all the time for a chat, it's a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Heyu and Micha picked us up from the train station with their own tuktuk and after dropping our bags, drove us to a temple festival nearby where we could eat free food with very nice local people. Really a great and surprising beginning. Both speak German and English fluently and are able to translate everything, help with phone calls, etc. They were really helpful with all our trips, provided us with little map-sketches to find everything we needed in the city, arranged a driver for our trips to Nainativu and other places around. They took us to dinner, took us to the bus stop, took us to the city and answered all our nosy questions about the tamil culture. It is definitly a good place to go, when you like to meet people and have good conversations.”
My apartment is a family friendly clean place and is close to City Center. You’ll love my place because of the location. WALKING DISTANCE : 1 Minute Colombo- Jaffna Highway (A9) , 5 Minutes Beach, Dutch Fort, Public Library, 10 Minutes Main City Shopping Area, Jaffna Railway Station , Jaffna Bus Stand and few good restaurants like PiZZA HUT, KFC, Jet Wing Restaurant & Bar etc. Complimentary Continental Breakfast SELF CATERING.
“Pusphas family welcomed me warmly and provided all the information for the pleasant stay. The place is supercentral, everything can be reached easily by foot, bycicle or tuktuk. As a woman travelling alone I also did feel very safe at their place. I am sorry I had to leave one night early for a meeting in Colombo. But I will definitively come back to Jaffna and happily stay at Pushpas place again. Puspha and her family are wonderful hosts. I can highly recommend the stay there.”
Village home in Jaffna - Amazing Grace A simple village house on an acre of land with coconut and mango trees with open front and rear verandahs. Two large bedrooms with en-suites offers space for two queen beds in one and two four poster King Single beds in the other with the ability to sleep 6 - 8 persons. A fully functional kitchen is complemented with a Thinnai. The courtyard which once made village company and conversation delightful continues to be the best spot in the house.
“The only way I can describe my experience at Amazing Grace is to say that I left behind a part of myself at this wonderful place. This is a home created by Emily, her sisters and her ancestors. The warmth and love that is offered here goes back to many generations.... it so unique. The sincere hospitality showered on us by the staff Cinnamani and Rasathy, who are very much part of the family took me back to my childhood at my grandmother’s. Sitting with them at the rear courtyard chatting and joking while they were making preparations for the next meal. This is true Sri Lankan hospitality. The place is very clean and looked after very well. The food is excellent. The care taker Mt. Chelvan, who speak good English and very attentive will see to all your needs and will advise you on how best to get around Jaffna. Emily thank you so much for this unforgettable experience. I will come back.”
