“Wow. Spent one of the most memorable days of my life sitting on the beach on a small remote island. I will never forget it and would come back in a heart beat. White sands, crystal blue water, perfect weather. Don't hesitate to book this trip. I promise you won't regret it. A few things to expect that come with staying on an remote uninhabited island: Traveling to/from isn't always pleasant. The car ride to the port is long and winding and bumpy. If you get car sick easily, come prepared (but it's totally worth it). It's more like camping than anything else. Expect critters in your hut with you (lizards, crabs, curious birds, an occasional bug). But the beds are clean and comfortable and come with mosquito netting to give you a measure of security. Trust me, you won't have any problems sleeping because the sound of the ocean just a few feet away is the most relaxing thing. While there are bathrooms with running water, that water is cold. Expect a very brisk shower. Again, more like camping than else. Jonathan is super helpful and coordinates the car and boat ride to the island. Once you are there the natives take good care of you. They are very friendly and respectful and know how to fry up some delicious fish.”
Beautiful island in Guna Yala (San Blas) for its incredibly crystalline waters, you will spend very relaxed on this island, amazing nights watching the stars while listening to some local stories and legends.
“I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I booked my stay, but I would highly recommend this BnB for travelers who want to go off the beaten path and enjoy unspoiled natural beauty. The journey to the island took me about 4hrs including pick up, the drive, and the boat ride. I took anti-nausea pills and was happy I did as the drive and boat ride are both rugged. Once you are at the island I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the sand floor beach huts mere steps from the water. There are some bugs but not many, don’t keep food in your room and be prepared to have some bugs similar to if you went camping. The food served each day is well prepared but basic and a lot of fried foods. Mostly fish, rice, chicken, and plantains. I found the other guests and the host charming and enjoyed myself as a young solo female traveler with minimal Spanish skills. Each night after dinner we would drink, and talk, and dance until the generator turned off and we all went to bed. The bathrooms are quite basic, that was my least favorite part of the experience. This is best for travelers who go with the flow, want to enjoy a life away from the internet and every day concerns, and to see stunning beaches. I also recommend to bring water and snacks with you (you can buy some on island but much more expensive/limited). The cell service only works with local carriers. They have plenty of beer and rum to sell you on the island. I think it’s best for a couple of nights stay, I stayed three nights and was ready to head back to the city at that point with some amazing NYE memories and a great tan.”
