Historic Schifferdecker Cottage

Built in 1846 and secluded on 5 gorgeous acres bordering Turkey Creek on the west and a paved walking trail on the south, this charming cottage was the home of Charles Schifferdecker, where he brewed his beer to sell in the "mining camp" called Joplin. Ironic to its seclusion, it is literally one block from the corner convenience store and mere minutes from such local destinations as MSSU, OCC & Joplin High School, as well as many restaurants and retail stores on Rangeline and Main Street.

Stairs and dock are available for easy access to the river. Great fishing. Kayaks and canoe available also tubes for floating. Continental breakfast, lots of drinks and snacks. This pet friendly home is all set for your furry friend, and you as well! There is plenty of room to set up a board game, relax on the sofa and watch your favorite shows, or just enjoy the quite neighborhood with a nice pond view.
