Smoking-friendly vacation rentals in Kalamaki Beach

We had a great experience at Maria’s place. The pool was perfect for the days when the sea was dangerous to swim in. The place is clean, very close to the sea, superkmarkets and to an amazing gyros tavern. The cats were also friendly and added some cuteness to our stay. We had everything we needed for a seaside vacation and the greek vibes were immaculate! The sandwichmaker was a game changer for our homemade breakfast :)

The place is really super nice and lovingly decorated, everything necessary and what you spontaneously need was available and the central location with 5min to the city center was also very great. I'd love to come back☺️

we had a very nice stay. the apartment is at a short walk distance from the center, clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Spyros was responsive and kind, checkin very easy and autonomous. The parking spot was a great plus. I can only recommend.

Holiday home from home. everything good. Vassilis very helpful with lots of good extras in room. Studio clean, bright airy, good WiFi with large kitchen area, Expresso coffee machine. Bathroom a tad small, but works. Sleep quiet with shutters closed, Beach 5 minutes walk. Bus stop to Heraklion and airport 3 minutes. Private parking space. Nice apartment, very nicely decorated with retro stuff (e.g. computer games). Spic and span, very cozy bed, spacious balcony, everything essential within walking distance. George is a great host, always responded very quickly to requests and gave us many helpful recommendations. Will come again any time

Very quiet accommodation, spacious. Excellent hospitality by Stefano with fruit basket, bread,juice. Very well-equipped accommodation. Stefano is very concerned about the well-being of his hosts. We had a great week there with our 2 daughters.

Brilliant apartment right in the middle of all the scenes and bars in Matala. Great host.

We spent a few nights in the apartment. It was perfect, the kitchen was very well equipped and you could actually cook (have never experienced this so well before), the beach location super, the contact with Zabia extremely friendly and uncomplicated. There were cute cats that visited us on the large roof terrace. We would definitely recommend the place.

We felt comfortable in the apartment. Communication with Nikos went very well. Downtown can be reached quickly on foot, the airport with the local bus lines as well.

House Liberty is a fantastic place. We rested for 5 days as if for 2 weeks :) Eleftheria is an extremely hospitable person, she welcomed us with a delicious meal she prepared herself. We will remember our stay very fondly and we already miss Dhrimiskos.

We had a great stay at Michalis'! The location of the property is ideal, with beautiful views and a quiet environment. Michalis and his son welcomed us warmly, even though we arrived a little later because we had taken the more beautiful route through the city of Rethymno. A carafe of raki and chilled water were waiting for us as a welcome – a very nice gesture from Michalis. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the Cretan sea and surrounded by chickens, ducks, cats and the friendly dog Bruno. Our son was thrilled and would have liked to take all the animals with him! The house itself is large, cozy and perfectly equipped and we felt completely comfortable. Michalis' father even surprised us with fresh eggs, a really loving touch. Overall, this place is a place to relax and enjoy. We will be happy to come back. Absolutely recommended!

it is just as it's described. three verandas facing different directions so you can enjoy the sun or not. beautiful views of the sunset, sea and mountains. will definitely return 👍👍

Great view from the balcony and very quiet. The location was great with beautiful roads around and nice beaches close by. Christos was always very responsive and helpful.

My friends and I really enjoyed this Air Bnb, we stayed for 1 week. The house is centrally located, very clean, spacious, newly renovated and had everything we needed. Manos is an excellent host, he responded quickly if we needed anything and even left us with Raki and some snacks.

Loved the location, the home and Matala overall. Very special place. There is a good hike to get to the house. So I f you are not in the fittest you may not enjoy the leg workout. Can’t wait to go back.

Argyri and her husband were the best hosts I've ever stayed with, and the apartment was absolutely flawless: excellent location, close to the old city, restaurants and the beach The apartment had absolutely all the facilities: there was nothing we needed and not exist in the home. Furnished modernly and with great taste, the apartment is bright and welcoming, with a large terrace where you can drink coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The hosts welcomed us with a cake, with fruits, wine and juices in the fridge, and upon departure they gave us local honey. Very friendly, they spent time with us and explained to us the best places to eat, what to visit around the city and in the city. it was everything I could have wished for and I can't wait to come back for a much longer period with my daughter. We really enjoyed our stay at Katerina's place! Amazing patio with a view, photos are accurate. Great to have a washing machine & drying rack. Katerina was extremely friendly and helpful with her communications and meeting us on site to check in. Thank you!

the place was very nice and Maria was very hospitable. Her mom gave us delicious homemade cookies. The house looked as if someone is still living there. there were personal photos and what seemed like personal items. looked a lot like a "home". We had a lovely time. thank you Maria.

We really enjoyed being guest at Dimitris place. The apartment is very cosy and welcoming. The kitchen was very well equipped (oil, vinegar, spices, sugar, coffee).

Studio well located in Rethymno downtown convenient to explore the city by foot. If having a car, parking can be found in the square. Quiet neighbourhood overnight. Best souvlaki restaurant/take out nearby. Giorgos is a very gentle and accessible host. Thank you for everything!

The location is excellent for exploring the city on foot while being a little off-center from the disturbances of beachfront bars and restaurants. Welcome and professionalism of the host, you can go there with your eyes closed!

We had a lovely stay at Sofia and her father Georgios' apartment - we particularly enjoyed the 2 balconies and the great location for the city centre. Good view over similar height buildings all around on three sides (5 floors with small lift). There was a delay replying to messages 2wks before (important as wanted to confirm they knew we were due to arrive late) but once that was sorted Georgios was lovely, meeting and chatting to us even though we arrived at midnight and providing a baby pram and cot. The apartment was as described and well looked after, though some doors were hard to shut, both bedroom black-out blinds bit stuck (so light) and some fittings from the 70s. It would have been good to have some bottled water on arrival (as we didn't want to drink tap water) but lots of condiments, shower gel, washing machine etc provided. A few mosquitos, initially none, after we watered the plants (in Oct) but good aircon in 3 rooms. It was good value and I would book again.
