Quiet country setting surrounded by forest and farmland, bordering on the Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve. Lower level suite with private entrance includes one separate bedroom, one bed with room divider in the common space, plus a full bath, kitchen facilities, and living area. Once called the "United Nations of birds", we are just a short drive from public beaches, lakes, the Victoria Rail Trail, and Monck's Landing Golf Course (stay and play package available). Fabulous star-gazing!
“Great communication, very friendly host, Deborah was hospitable and flexible on our arrival and check out times. The place is conveniently located by all the lakes and trails, very tranquil area! The hosts have thought of everything! The space is amazing has all the amenities and essentials absolutely everything one needs for a great stay! There's also a patio, a tent and the fire pit available. Diego the dog was very friendly and social. If you happen to see this place available, book without hesitation! Thank you for the wonderful stay!”
The Outback will not be opening this year due to ongoing Pandemic concerns! Hope to see you in 2021! Welcome to "THE OUTBACK" our backwoods hideaway! Do you want to escape and get away from it all in an off grid location? If so, we have the place for you! We have uniquely combined glamping with a rustic flair in a completely private, quiet and serene location. Excellent as an artist's or writer's retreat!
“Book now! Joe and Cathy's outback will not disappoint! The space is perfect - tucked far back on their 24 acre property and nestled amongst nothing but trees and serenity. Built by Joe himself (super friendly, knowledgeable, talented guy!) The site is fully equipped with everything you'll possibly need for a camping trip! Bunkie - comfy bed, cozy, linens, bedside tables, USB charger, lighting, curtains. True glamour in the woods :) Kitchen - covered and screened in (awesome for keeping those bugs out!), propane stove WITH propane, bbq on the porch, all cooking utensils, pots/pans, 4 full place settings, paper towel, tin foil, a cooler, tables/chairs, cards, bubbles, you name it, it's there! Bathroom - wow! outdoors, covered, clean, best flushing toilet and cleanest space you'll ever find when camping! Shower - outdoors, not covered. May be a little chilly for end of summer (mother nature will decide of course!). The space has room for multiple tents. Joe even created one large tent pad! The fire pit is amazing, AND wood is supplied! 4 mins down the road is a small country store, 5 mins down the road is a boat launch on a beautiful lake. I can go on and on about how wonderful this place is but once you book, you'll see for yourselves :) An extra special touch - a welcome basket filled with breakfast goodies, and treats for our dog (who was beyond happy to be able to roam without the hassle of campsite neighbours)! This place is truly amazing, a stargazers paradise, and two wonderful/sweet/caring hosts! We'll be back next year! One last thing! Bring a portable battery pack as there is no electricity :). We definitely used ours so our cameras were good and ready to snap up all the amazing photos :)”
An absolutely private site of a former hunting camp above a peaceful lake surrounded by a quiet forest. Two comfortable cabins on site, each with a screened porch, kitchenette, running water, and a tree-house like sleeping loft, can accommodate up to four guests. This completely private property has many trails to explore, comes with a canoe and a row boat, and is perfect for people of all ages seeking adventure or a tranquil atmosphere to relax and rejuvenate.
“I just spent 5 days in the cabin and it absolutely great! Exactly as described, and even more! I was looking for a secluded place where I can spend some time without any interruption or even talking to anybody. And this is was I got 🙂 Check-in and check-out is easy - just punch the code on the door lock... The cabin was ready - brightly clean and welcoming - a pack of chips and a bottle of water was waiting for me on the table. Very cozy - lots of pillows on the bunk. I spent time walking on the trails, fishing from the row boat and sitting in the cabin wen it was raining. I was there in late October so the nights were cold, but the place has 2 catalytic heaters, which I used when needed (I only had to buy propane in Canadian Tire in Minden) All in all - an excellent place for those who wants to run away from the outside world, from their gadgets, and just spend time in silence and tranquility Thank you, Peter!”
