This small building built about 30 years ago is the first generation house made with new construction materials in our country. The house of that generation is losing popularity and is beginning to disappear. This house was also getting old and planned to demolish. However, this house is what my grandmother built at the end of her life. When I heard the story of demolition, I was very sad. I fixed this small, old house. And successfully passed the current standards set by country.
“We were all satisfied with hospitality, facilities and amenities, and the speed of response! This time, Ibusuki and Sakurajima were the main areas, but the host tomoyuki told me a lot about the charm of Kirishima, so when I visited Kagoshima next time, I wanted to go around Kirishima more! I'm really thankful to you.”
Renovated studio . All comfort for 2 people + 1 young child. Very sunny. View of small garden scents of fig trees. City center close to all shops . Mountains, parks, spa and beaches nearby.
“Our stay at Timothee’s place was sprinkled with unexpected highlights. Our host, and his entire family was warm, friendly, welcoming, considerate, and hospitable. In addition to directing us to local attractions and things to do, our host, when he managed to take some time from his very busy schedule, led us to explore aspects of Japanese rural living and community social interactions that short term visitors simply won’t get a chance to experience. These are invaluable time capsules that we will fondly recall in the years to come. In terms of the apartment we stayed for two weeks, we had everything we needed. The place is clean, organized, well-equipped, and quiet. The location is very convenient. There are many restaurants and supermarkets around the apartment. The public transportations such as buses and trains are quite accessible and manageable. The bus and train schedule are available for the guest/s in the apartment. Of course, tons of sightseeing brochures and information are provided by the host as well. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and memorable time in Kirishima. And we are very grateful for our host and his family’s hospitality and kindness. It’s a home away from home for us.”
畳とふすま、障子に欄間。実家や田舎のおじいちゃんおばあちゃんちに帰ってきたような時間をお楽しみください。 霧島神宮駅から徒歩5分。 Japanese traditional house built in the 1970s with a guest room for up to 4 people. The room has a tatami floor and can be separated by sliding doors. There is a kitchen, dining space, bathroom and toilet. 5min walk from JR Kirishima Jingu train station. Surrounded by nature, calm, relaxed and invigorated are the main sensations felt upon arrival. Perfect for a weekend getaway or a change of pace journey.
“Ayako is a great host! She is very kind (she gave me cooling patches for my ankle!), and her place is very large. I slept well on the tatami mats she provided. I also full heartedly believe that Ayako's place is in an excellent location if you want to explore an area of Japan that is currently a little quiet. It's about 40 minutes from Kagoshima airport; 30-ish minutes from Kirishima Jingu shrime; and ~50 from two points of interest at Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park. By staying two nights I was able to hike both Mt. Takachihonomine and Mt. Karakuni!”
