Cottage in Yamagata

90 minutes from Nagoya. An inn where you can have a BBQ while looking at the clear stream in the secluded Marubara. Tent sauna rental for a fee

The cottage is located on the banks of the clear Marukawa River. Gifu is famous for Shirakawago and Hida Takayama, but Enbara is also a nice place in the mountains, although it is inconvenient. The scenery of the mountains and rivers is beautiful, and it is a place rich in nature where monkeys and deer appear. The Enbara River is known as the most beautiful underground water in Japan and a famous spot for its light, and the inn is located about 800 meters from the spring water point of the underground water, so the water transparency is excellent. You can also see the light from the inn. On summer mornings, depending on the weather conditions, you can see a magical view of the sunlight pouring through the trees. The water in the Marukara River is cold, but in summer the children play in the river energetically. The riverbed is much cooler, so people can escape the heat and cool off. A little downstream there are several river play spots, and the water is clear everywhere and it feels good to swim beautifully. The water of the river shines emerald green in a slightly deep place, and the scenery of rocks and moss is also wonderful, and it is a healing spot where the mind is purified. There is a deck facing the river on the second floor of the inn, so you can relax while watching the river, BBQ, swing in a hammock while listening to the river, or refresh yourself in the tent sauna.

Ryokan-style, maximum 10 people, parking for 3 cars, Showa Inn for private rentals, convenient for training camps, sauna tours, Kumanokago, Inuyama, and Ghibli Park

Tajimi Shukukitaya is a retro Showa-style private inn recommended for those who want to enjoy both Higashinose sightseeing and sauna hopping. It is a convenient base for sightseeing to Tsumakago, Inuyama, Ghibli Park, the monastery, Kokeizan Eibo-ji Temple, Toki Outlet, etc., and it is also easy to visit popular hot spring facilities such as Amamitsu-no-Yu, Ryusenji, Yorimichi Onsen, and Yunohana Island. In a traditional house with tatami mats, you can enjoy a relaxing stay with family or friends, or even with a large group, such as three generations on a trip. The surroundings are very quiet, and after enjoying the sauna and sightseeing, you can spend some time relaxing in a space that feels nostalgic. Whether it's a sauna trip with multiple people or a group trip, the appeal lies in gathering together in the same space, enjoying meals and conversation, and creating memories. It's different from a hotel, and you can experience a more homely stay. Please note that due to the natural surroundings, there may be cold spells and snow accumulation in winter, requiring studless tires.Insects may appear in the summer. Also, the last 200 m to the inn is a narrow road, and cars cannot pass each other. There are some inconveniences, but this is an accommodation where you can enjoy the quiet and a traditional stay, even with those inconveniences.

Traditional Townhouse & Garden in Quiet Castletown

Experience the charm of traditional Japan with all the senses in this finely crafted townhouse & surrounding garden. Gujo Hachiman is known as the “City of Water”, and owner & architect Yuri Fujisawa has lovingly restored this charming residence to embody the spirit of water. Located below the town’s medieval castle, this neighborhood was reserved for high-ranking samurai. While the historical streetscape is well-preserved, it remains an authentic neighborhood inhabited by friendly locals.
