“A really well located accommodation a few meters from hiking on the coast. The peace and quiet are very significant as well as the cleanliness of the accommodation. The ground is closed by a gate which is very pleasant when as we left with our two small children, it is a stress less. Despite everything, a house is currently under construction on the land and therefore materials are present, we must remain vigilant. During our stay we were not disturbed by the workers but I think it is important to emphasize the presence of the construction. In this period we were a little cold in the living room which has no heating. A reversible air conditioning is present but does not allow to heat the whole room. Well it must be said that originally from Haute Savoie we are used to very hot chimney fires. Frédéric is very available if requested. I recommend this accommodation.”
On the peninsula of Giens in a very quiet area, in a private street with secured gate, semi-detached house completely renovated, air-conditioned and equipped for 6 guests, access on foot to the creeks and the coastal path (10 minutes from the Darboussières beach and 5 minutes from the trail). The garden of 16 000 sqft is shared with another house (that of my aunt) but is large enough to guarantee privacy (for your nap under the trees for example).
“If you are considering Giens, look no further for your housing! We were a family of 4 and Francois’ house was exactly as described and perfect for us. Very comfortably laid out family room / dining area, large bathroom, and two very comfortable bedrooms upstairs. Good flow downstairs and everything you need to prepare meals in the nicely equipped, brand new, very homey kitchen. Bathroom is a good size and offers a combined washer/dryer (try the airwash - it’s magic) and good size tub/shower. (Americans take note: the range is an induction oven with a code that takes a little getting used to but heats everything insanely fast once you do! Also, the washer dryer needs to be programmed at the start to wash and dry. Takes a minute but easy enough to figure out). From the kitchen you can move easily to the stone patio and enjoy your wine at the picnic table. There is a sofa in the living area that faces a wall mounted flat screen, wifi, games and brochures on the area. Bedding is new and comfortable. Lots of closet space. The master has a unique extra bathroom off the balcony. Nice touch. So that’s the house. From the house you are a 15 minute walk to the plage darboussiers along a spectacular cliffside walk overlooking the Mediterranean. It’s a quirky and somewhat rocky path so wear good shoes and pack water shoes for the beach. Which is so beautiful! It’s a compact, intimate stone beach that hugs the cliff and offers you solitude and lots to explore in the blue blue water. Head along the road toward the port of Madrague and you’ll find a few restaurants, the fantastic pizza truck (nights only) and the dime store where you can buy fruit, baguette, and small items. You’ll need to drive to Hyeres for the Casino grocery store. Beyond all this, you need a car for sure (Toulon Hyères airport is close). And with it there are beaches galore in the area, old Hyères is 15 minutes and absolutely worth a stop for the okd Medieval city, and Cassis and Nice are 1 and 2 hours away respectively. And, if you have kids 7/8 and up definitely check out the Speedkart near Hyeres. Cash only. But, what set us up for such a great experience was Francois’ timely and generous stream of suggestions and answers any time I had a question and plenty of times just because he thought of something we’d like. He’s a welcoming host who attends to details, clearly loves Giens and loves to share it with others So, if you’re looking for a laid back beach vacation far from the Riveria crowds but sitting in the heart of the original Riveria retreat and with an impeccable guide, Francois is your guy and his house is your place! Enjoy!”

“Very clean and quiet apartment with kitchen equipment in the apartment. We had bicycles available to get around, which allowed us to go to the village of Gien and to the port of Niel. By cons it is said that the sea is 8 minutes, we thought we could go to the beaches on foot except that the beach of Niel (the one that looks the closest on the map) is private so not accessible. So we drove to the beaches.”
