The Loomis Family immigrated from Greece and operated the Soda Fountain and Confectionary until the 1960's. It has since been transformed into a spacious and comfortable living area with the original Soda Fountain still intact, beautiful tin ceiling, and also includes a large kitchen, a separate shower room & powder room.

Great for bird watching, with great blue herons, egrets, ducks, bald eagles, plovers, cormorants, woodpeckers and other species seen daily.

Bev's Country Cottage

A small quiet cottage off the beaten path, located only minutes from Newton Lake Fish and Wildlife Area. This is a great place for hunters, fishermen or just someone that wants to get away from the city. It has exactly what you need to enjoy a long weekend full of the great outdoors. We have 2 electric fireplaces, 1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms, futon & full size bed in living room that sleeps up to 7 total. It has a side covered porch with a seating area & table with chairs. Firepit area for roasting hotdogs or marshmallows. Firewood on premises. Propane grill on back patio. Small kids play area in back yard & 4pm check in with 10am checkout.
