Cabin vacation rentals in Lake Waramaug

If you’re reading this to decide whether to book, do it - this was such a nice stay! Came up for a last min bday trip and feel lucky we got to stay here. Brian is an uncommonly good host and went above and beyond in so many ways - great communicator, flexible, gave us extra recs when stuff nearby was closed, provided a great local guidebook, and stocked the house so well (I like to cook and there was an actually well-stocked kitchen there). We didn’t find ourselves needing any essentials and the house had a lot of well-thought out comforts (insane hot tub, heated toilets, a ton of seating). On top of that the house is set up for fun at home - communal lounge area for a big group, pool table downstairs, board games, easy to use projector, silly wigs, big yard, a fridge that plays spotify (???) & we brought our pickleball set and played outside. These guys really know what they’re doing - thank you for a great stay and we will definitely be back when it warms up!

Definitely an amazing place, beautiful! But secluded make sure to stock up on groceries and essentials before arriving nearest market is about 16 minutes away. Overall great stay!

We had such a delightful stay here. The photos don’t do it justice. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, which we used extensively. When a couple of minor issues with the house popped up, Brian responded immediately. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

4 humans and 2 dogs, we all had a fantastic time at this house! The house itself is very. large, spacious and interior is so cute, everything is functioning well, to stay comfortably. It is actually amazing for EVERYTHING to be working in a large house like this! Also all the details about stay is written in the manual - well organized binder, so you can always refer back to it in case you have any questions. The owners are also very responsive via email too :) I esp loved the landscape of the huge garden, it is beautifully taken care of, with nice lighting at night. Kids enjoyed trampoline, and we all soaked in hot tub outside in the snow, it was amazing! I just wanted to stay in a spacious beautiful comfortable house and relax, read, play board games, cook, stroll, - quality time with love ones, so it was absolutely perfect for that !

This cabin is chic, cozy, and in a beautiful secluded location, such that you can take a dip in the hot tub listening only to birds. It's a true getaway treat. Highly recommend.

can’t wait to come back in the summer so we can take full advantage of the beautiful creek in the back. the cabin itself was so thoughtfully curated with MCM furniture + decor + it really suited the whole experience. we weren’t familiar with the NW CT area + there’s a lot of cute towns + hiking. we were there for a family event but will definitely come back to enjoy the cabin + area more. thanks william!

Wonderful little cabin with a beautiful view! Needed a place to stay while my house was having work done on it...the porch was perfect as a temporary office, bedroom was nice and dark- I slept like a log! Best touch was Michele's homemade jam!

Henry's beautiful home and yard provided the perfect getaway for 5 friends who try to get together at least once a year, coming from 3 different states. The large rooms, clean/fresh bed linens and towels, two full bathrooms and spacious living room adjacent to the kitchen gave us jus t the right setting in which to enjoy each other's company. Breakfast at the kitchen table overlooking the backyard was bright and sunny first thing in the morning. We especially liked the backyard patio, which gets sun all day long. After a cold rainy start to our stay, we were able to enjoy a warm afternoon on the patio - sunshine, blue skies, birds, budding trees and the soothing sound of the water fountain and small pond . We found great restaurants in both Kent and in Litchfield. As an avid gardener, I can just picture Henry's beautiful landscaping when all is in bloom later in the season. Very comfortable place to hang out! We wouldn't hesitate to give others a recommendation for Henry's home.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and beautiful cabin! It was exactly the quiet, relaxing, and secluded getaway we were looking for. We were welcomed with a beautiful basket full of goodies. The bed was comfortable, and the sauna and large jacuzzi tub were perfect for unwinding. The kitchen was well-equipped, and having both a crock pot and air fryer made meal prep super convenient. We really enjoyed the cozy wood-burning fireplace. Communication with Elle was excellent—she was very responsive and helpful throughout. Although it rained during our visit and we didn’t get to use the outdoor spaces much, there are some lovely spots for enjoying a fire or just relaxing outside.Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to recharge in a peaceful retreat!

Our family of four had a wonderful winter weekend at Erma’s house. The house was comfortable, even during a winter storm. Erma made sure to have the driveway plowed, so we could still enjoy a day of skiing. And the sunset views were beautiful! We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time at Josh’s place. It’s such a beautiful spot and wonderful home. Josh was super helpful and responsive. He made it so easy. Would definitely come back and recommend!

My family and I stayed at this cabin. The cabin is clean, has plenty of space, has a nice setting and is conveniently located within a short drive to good restaurants. We loved sitting on the porch soaking up the sun and the boys loved running around finding interesting things in the yard. We did some stargazing and were even able to see the milky way!

I cannot recommend this Airbnb cabin enough! From start to finish, our experience was absolutely delightful. “The Shire” is a magical place to stay! It is truly in the middle of the woods. The carpentry in the cabin is intriguing. Cupboards and closets are hidden everywhere. Skylights let you wake up looking at the undersides of treetops and the sky. Michael and Beth are excellent hosts and very good at communicating.

We stayed just one night during a long distance cycling adventure, but were really charmed by all of the little touches that made the place unique. The solar powered lanterns around the property add a magical glow to the surroundings. And the small cabin had exactly what you need. The outdoor latrine was clean and really thoughtfully done - obviously well looked after. We stayed during mid-October, and the night temperature low was 42F. Our hosts provided drinking water, some glasses, spoons, tea, and instant coffee, which was much appreciated. We were able to charge our various devices with the power available in the cabin, and we stayed very warm with the provided space heater, and didn’t need to put it on full blast - if anything we were almost too warm when going to bed, but we were able to adjust it down and slept well all night long!

What an idyllic cabin on the lake. Beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. Lots of activities right at hand, from games indoors to the pickleball court nearby. We had a wonderful experience.

We loved staying at Lucy’s. It’s one of those places that has everything you need, from extra blankets, lots of silverware, to high quality WiFi. And the surrounding area is beautiful.

We are grateful for the time visiting this magical place. The grounds are unbelievably gorgeous, as if out of a story or a painting, with different spaces to walk, sit, read or play catch. The pool is warm and lovely with an adjacent shared pool house space offering a shaded sitting area, a restroom and sauna. Hibiscus House is spacious, comfortable, incredibly well appointed and featured decor and small touches that belong in a design magazine. Every detail or potential guest need was considered and covered with the planning for this home. Lisa was communicative and responsive leading up to our arrival. She met us and provided a great tour when we arrived and checked in while we were there. She went above and beyond as a host and we are so appreciative.

This is a great place for a cozy retreat in comfort. Set in a clearing at the edge of the woods and facing a pond, the house is very well equipped and attractive. The collection of books, puzzles, and toys was most welcome, as were the coffee grinder and stocked pantry. Communication with the host was most welcoming and friendly.
