De omgeving is een prachtig natuurgebied met tal van wandelroutes. In de winter zijn er plenty skipistes in de omgeving. Winterberg en Willingen liggen op 15 a 20 km afstand. In de omgeving zijn drie meren waaronder het grote meer " Edersee" waar allerlei watersportactiviteiten zijn.
