Our comfortable, little, self contained flat is in the heart of Millaa Millaa. It's only walking distance to town , Millaa waterfall and Millaa’s golf club .It is very quiet and surrounded by fruit trees and native animals. Only 10 minutes drive and you can enjoy a nice meal from the Teahouse , Pub or Mungalli creek Cafe and on your way home enjoy the beautiful waterfall circuit. We live upstairs and are happy to tell where the best hiking , swimming and sightseeing spots are in the tablelands
“Wonderful home and beautiful garden. Great place to stay and a very welcoming family. You get the whole down stairs to yourself with a super open kitchen and dining patio. So many interesting Nik Naks in the garden. I took lots of photos. Only watch your timing as the pub does not serve food on Sunday night in the 'off' season so be prepared or travel to Yungaburra or bring food to cook. But the drive to Yungaburra is amazing and only half hour. So no biggy!”

“Lilia’s place is just lovely. It is located on a beautiful farmland property - it is green, quiet, serene and beautiful. Our little 17 month old loved her sheep and the geese that roamed freely around the property and she loved checking out all of the beautiful flowers surrounding the entrance to the house. The cottage is quirky and homely inside and you can enjoy all of the little touches Lilia has styled it with. There is a lovely spot to sit outdoors undercover and just take in the stunning scenery with a drink, crackers and cheese. Lilia and Mark were very accommodating with our dog (who actually misbehaved quite a bit this trip to our disappointment). Lilia also was able to provide us with a beautiful home cooked meal on our second night (easy for us since we had been out all day with a baby) however there were enough cooking appliances and a very decent sized fridge had we wanted to cook our own meal/s in the cottage. Although remote it was still only a very short drive to Malanda where there are cafes, shops, ATM, supermarket etc which was very convenient. We highly recommend this cottage - it was a delight to stay. Thank you again for having us Lilia!”
Hemingway’s on the Hill is a rustic private indulgence. Set high on the hill, bearing witness to the best of rural life. Cows graze paddocks, and flocks of birds fly overhead. Life is everywhere. Curated by Interior Designer Fifi. She wrote a story for the life to be lived in the space. Like the great man himself, thoughtful yet spare enough with surprises of artful collection. We escaped the city 15 years ago. We found a better life. Come and stay and write your own love story.
“This place makes me sorry I’ve given other 5-star ratings because it sent a new benchmark. What an amazing place to stay! The place is beautifully designed (not just aesthetically - and that is absolutely great), but to provide everything you could possibly need to have an incredibly comfortable stay. From the surprising very generous locally sourced items, to wonderful and fun comfort features like an outdoor deep stone tub and fire place, and providing local tips and all sorts of extra’s to enable you to fully enjoy them - we couldn’t believe how incredibly wonderful it was. We planned initially for 2 days, but decided as soon as we got there to change that to a 4 day stay. It’s the perfect spot from which to explore all of the Atherton Tablelands. Fifi was a perfect host - total respect for privacy, but also frequently checking in to be sure we had everything we needed - and offering more! I would rate this place a 10 if that were possible!”
