Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Monteverde

Welcome to paradise! This is what everything in this house tells you since you arrive. The majestic view, the spacious areas, the amazing gardens, the surroundings but most of all the birds. I had never seen such variety of exotic birds so close to me. We stayed 5 nights and we didn't want to leave the house because it has everything. I highly recommend this rental for the beauty around the house and the strategic location close to different attractive spots. Pura vida!

Nice place if you want to rest and spend a few quiet days. The house is comfortable and large. Book if you want to get away from the heat and in a very quiet mountain setting.

The pictures of this place don’t do it justice, the views are spectacular! This property is perched on a mountain with great outdoor space to sit, and with a restaurant in walking distance that offers good food, cocktails and a really nice staff. We pretty much ate breakfast and dinner there almost every day. There’s also another restaurant at the bottom of the hill, along with a general store for snacks, beer, etc. It’s conveniently located near zip lining, hanging bridges and the Arenal National Park. If you want to add some time by the pool, you can buy day passes at The Springs Resort & Spa. We hiked and did jungle excursions in the mornings and hung out by the hot springs and pools in the afternoons. The only thing that I would have changed is that I would have liked to stay longer.

The location was perfect for our Monteverde adventure. Easily accessed everything we wanted to do from zip-line to a night hike to a 6-mile self-guided hike in Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. We also drove to Viento Fresco Waterfalls about 50 minutes away and the swim in waterfall #3 was a family favorite for the trip. Lots to do, very peaceful surroundings at the house and easy to get to good food in Santa Elena! Simple and perfectly comfortable accommodations and the host was wonderful and helpful.

All I can say is wow! The photos, as amazing as they are, do not do justice to the views. The place was quiet and peaceful. We loved waking up to the sound of birds chirping and a cool breeze. Can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a good 15 minutes from the downtown MonteVerde area and a 4WD SUV is essential.

It's a wonderful place to stay more time than the one we chose. It's a quiet place, with a great scenery and lots of wildlife. I will recommended for a week vacation away from everything.

This was my LIR to Arenal interim stop on way to La Fortuna since we landed after 2:00PM. I only wish we could have stayed for more than one night. It was clean and very elegant yet homey. The view in the morning was to die for.

I will definitely be back when I get back to the area, the view of the balcony is stunning.. direct view to the lake.

This condo is in the most beautiful location, perfect view of the volcano from the balcony!! The space was clean and comfortable beds and furniture. Fully equipped kitchen, big bathroom with large jet tub, and in suite washer and dryer. The host had great communication. Responded quickly late in the evening to our booking request to let us stay in his beautiful place, saving us from the original nightmare Airbnb be booked for that night! I can’t thank the host enough for the responsiveness and the truly wonderful condo right on Lake Arenal!! P.S. Completely ignore the person that left the low rating review about this place. The person should be ashamed to leave a low review for such an incredible place!

We had an excellent stay here while in Monteverde. The views were unbeatable, and everything in the unit itself well maintained! Yami was an excellent host, very responsive and always ready to give recommendations. It was a very tranquil getaway, would certainly come back!

We stayed here for 3 days and the location was perfect! It was less than an hour drive to Arenal volcano and an hour and a half to Monteverde. The view of Lake Arenal was beautiful! It was especially nice having a pool that was peaceful and relaxing. The place was very clean and had everything we needed to make breakfast in the airbnb. Places to eat out for dinner are less than 10 minutes away. The air conditioning is forced air so it can take a while for the rooms to cool down but each room has an electric fan so it was no issue for us. Would definitely stay here again!

We were only passing through to cut off our trip (only one night), the condo was clean, identical to the photos and with all amenities. You can even see the volcano from the balcony when the clouds aren't too present.

We stayed here 3 nights over the weekend. Really beautiful house with a big garden where you are close to the nature. Ideal for a calm and relaxing stay. You also got to check out the lovely details around and inside the house. It was absolutely amazing!

We enjoy a lot to spend holidays in this place, is peaceful, beautiful and confortable, I really recommend Villa Corazon. Looking forward to come back soon.

We had a fantastic stay at the property. It was beautifully kept, clean, and in a peaceful location outside of the main town. The hosts were very communicative and helpful, making our whole stay very easy. Would highly recommend staying here!

We (family of five + grandparents) had a lovely stay at Casa Valentina. It’s far enough away from the main town Santa Elena to feel you’re in the forest, but close enough to enjoy restaurants etc when you want to go out. Very close to all kinds of activities like ziplining, nature walks and waterfalls. Kids loved the room with the ‘secret’ attic-bedroom. The house is well maintained and well equipped. The driveway is a bit steep but we did fine without a 4x4. Definitely recommend for a group or large family looking for a tranquil mountain getaway.

Gabriela’s place is just as described. We had a wonderful stay and loved watching the hummingbirds and butterflies from the porch, whether from the comfy rocking chairs or the jacuzzi! There were also some horses and a cow in the next property who came by to say hello! The volcano at Arenal is an impressive sight. The location is super convenient to La Fortuna which has lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Gabriela was very responsive and kind and provided tons of useful recommendations and suggestions. Highly recommended!

This place was amazing, the outdoor living area with pool and shower were spectacular. I would live here if possible! The river in the back yard with a little swimming hole was amazing as well! 10/10!!!!

Francesco's Hotel Mystica is literally the most relaxing place I've ever been in my entire life. My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night as part of our anniversary vacation, and by the next day we couldn't believe it had only been 24 hours. Villa Los Pericos has a breathtaking view of Lake Arenal and the volcanoes right from its front porch (complete with hammock and Adirondack chairs), and the all-glass wall of the villa opens up so you can catch the cool mountain breeze from your living room or kitchen. We were amazed as to how untouched by humans the lake was. No boats, and only one or two windsurfers. I really do hope it stays this way. The area is amazing, and landscape-wise it almost feels like the rolling hills of Ireland at times. With 10-15 degrees cooler temps (Fahrenheit) than the beach towns, you'll almost forget you're in Costa Rica for a moment. The main road around the lake is newly paved, so it's easy to get around and explore the small towns and a few restaurants / brewpubs, if you do decide to leave the Mystica grounds. While we were perfectly content with the views and the villa itself, the overall estate (Hotel Mystica) has so much more to add to the tranquil experience. A waterfall dipping pool, homecook restaurant with fireplace/lounge, and an expansive yoga platform facing the jungle right next to a stream are just a few of the amenities you can enjoy. Francesco is an excellent host who wants to make sure your experience is relaxing and perfect. Homecooked breakfast and a platter of fresh fruit before checkout topped off an unforgettable experience. I would certainly stay here again -- and next time, for more than a day!
