Casa Loma next to Xochimilco

EmmanuelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lauren’s house was a great place for my family and I to stay in. The home is beautiful, clean and spacious. The home was located a 10-15 min walk to the center of Oaxaca. It was also close to local bakeries and corner stores where you can purchase essentials. The beds, bedsheets and pillows in the house were super comfortable. Lauren was also very responsive whenever we had any questions.

4 BR mountain view house at Oaxaca’s top location

IrmaRating, 5 stars52 months ago
Juan Pablo's place is beautiful, with very spacious, clean and comfortable spaces. We loved seeing that they had antibacterial gel in the rooms as well as claw water, miscellaneous utensils, 2 kitchens, and a work area. It would have been desirable for the pool to have a heater, because in December it is cold and the water was cold, also, the WiFi in the house was very depleted, we could see that we were doing Home Office. Otherwise, it is a very good place, it is very well located, in addition to having an incredible landscape that you can admire from the main bedrooms. Waking up and seeing the mountain is very pleasant. By the way, congratulations to the housekeeper!, she was very kind and diligent, always attentive to what we needed. Happy 2021!

Casa Mariela.

LisaRating, 5 stars26 months ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Mariela. The pictures on the website do not do the house justice. The house was beautiful and more than spacious enough for our party of 10. It was a two-minute walk to a little grocery store which was super convenient; just down the street from a pharmacy; a five-minute cab ride to a great taqueria; and only 15 minutes to the center of town. Our daughters and my niece had a fabulous time in the beautiful solar heated pool where we spent a lot of our time. The grounds are kept beautifully and create such a relaxing setting that we didn’t want to leave the house to explore Oaxaca. The most wonderful thing of all was the friendly, helpful, warm hospitable staff led by Cristy. The breakfasts at Casa Mariela were possibly the most memorable part of our whole trip and everybody’s favorite part of the day. If you are looking for a home with character and interesting details in the suburbs of the city, this is the perfect choice.

charming family home

Lovely, comfortable house. The private garden provides a refuge from the city. There are plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance. The gardener and house cleaner were very discrete and did a good job. Bedrooms are comfortable

The Inheritance.

DouglasRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a bit of trouble at the start: we were given the wrong code to get in and an a/c unit was not working well. But Lili was very responsive and made sure that we were taken care of (even getting an a/c person out on a Sunday morning and overseeing the repairs). Otherwise, our stay was great. The house is much nicer, and bigger than the photos indicate. There are large areas (upstairs landing/office, courtyard) that we were not expecting, plus an extra half bath downstairs. The location was nice: walking distance to nearly everything we did in town, but a block or two out of the way from the heavily walked tourist and commercial areas. It was hot the week we were in Oaxaca, but the house stayed cool with the fans and the bedrooms (with a/cs) were a welcome refuge during the hottest part of each day. The two rooftop patios were beautiful spaces for morning use. Lili also hooked us up with a fantastic personal driver, Ana, for out of town excursions.

"CASA DEL ESCUINCLE" Oaxaca. King Room (2 people)

CecilRating, 5 stars62 months ago
Our second visit to Oaxaca and stay at Casa del Escuincle lasted 10 amazing days and nights. Our hosts Carmen and her daughter Bertha, along with Rosa, the housekeeper and cook, were always gracious. We especially appreciated their warm and generous contributions to the celebration of our wedding anniversary the morning after our arrival. Throughout our stay, our hosts were extremely responsive to our wants and needs without being overbearing, making us feel like part of their family. Optional upon request, the food provided during our stay was authentically regional, plentiful, and lovingly prepared. This included handmade Oaxacan chocolate, mole and salsa of the house, and sal de gusano de maguey. (Have fun looking it up)! The colonial-era hacienda is horseshoe-shaped, arranged around a lush, well maintained central garden with many plantings in, and out of, pots. Regional artwork adorns the walls. Our large room was furnished with a comfortable king-sized bed, ample closet and cabinet space, a refrigerator, and a coffee maker. You will find a few restaurants within walking distance from the hacienda, including the brand new taqueria, La Salsa, small convenience stores, and a quaint Catholic church (currently undergoing reconstruction.). Las Danzetas, in central Oaxaca, and Casa Oaxaca, in the Reforma neighborhood, were among our favorite restaurants. If you want to burn some calories and enjoy spectacular views and sightings of tropical birds, the well-equipped and clean Luis Donaldo Colosio Park is within walking distance. Casa del Escuincle is located less than 3 miles from the Oaxaca town center, a quick 70-peso cab ride away. Casa del Escuincle provided a quiet respite from the hustle, bustle, and fun of the city while providing a great jumping-off point for day trips to local towns and historical sites. We highly recommended a stay at Casa del Escuincle!

Casa Tonatiuh - 3 bedroom villa with views & pool

KateRating, 5 stars5 months ago
The house is beautifully decorated. There's a lovely piano, the pool is solar heated and clean, there are hammocks, and the adobe keeps the home naturally cool and quiet. There are great views of the mountains and the city. There is a little market and a big park nearby. The park has a library for kids and an area with toys. There is also a small hotel next door with a fantastic restaurant called Entre Sombras. The staff at the house is helpful and friendly, but they also respect your space. And Marilee is quick to respond. We all enjoyed our time in this tucked away paradise.

Dream Garden Villa in the Heart of Oaxaca

JudithRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Almaviva is a beautiful home located in the perfect spot at the north end of the historic district of Oaxaca City. It is beautifully maintained, a lovely oasis when the city gets hot, and located such that you can walk to almost everywhere in the city easily. There is plenty of distilled water provided, the wifi is very good, the neighborhood is very safe, and we found easy parking on the street (even during a huge wedding close by and Palm Sunday). There is a fabulous local market a few blocks away, Mercado Sanchez Pascuas, for fresh fruit, and a great panaderia, Masea Trigo y Maiz, around the corner for unbelievable pastries and coffee. So breakfast in the morning by the pool with the cat before you set out for your daily adventure is incredible. A lovely place to spend a week in Oaxaca and experience its art, history and food.

Great villa with spectacular view

PeggyRating, 5 stars63 months ago
We loved the house, the patio, garden, the view, the location, everything. We heartily recommend it. In the course of a 6 week stay, there were a couple of moments when we needed some things repaired and it was done very quickly, cheerfully and competently.

A magic house to fall in love with!

MaximilienRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
La Casa de Lu was a wonderful place to stay for our family. This is really like a compound in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood north of town. The place feels very safe and the house is spacious and beautiful. Caro and her son took care of us beautifully and attended all our needs. This was my daughter's 15th birthday and Caro organized a little birthday celebration for her. This was very special. Thank you for hosting us.
