“Amazing place, really cozy and comfortable, directly in the nature, great facilities, we loved the sauna and the jacuzzi. If you want to enjoy hikes and be a bit far out from the city it is the perfect place to stay. Kitchen is well equipped too. We loved to stay at it.”
Nestled in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this secluded Hobbit House makes the perfect private getaway.
“This place is great! Exactly as advertised. We used it for an overnight stay on a hiking trip, there are lots of great trails nearby. Make sure you get your directions before going too close, as we lost cell service fairly far out (its very strong in Broadway, about a 5-10 minute drive up the road but in a different valley). That being said, its very easy to find! The place itself is EXACTLY what the photos show. Clean, tidy, simple, and with a lot of character. We were admittedly skeptical of the waffle iron but then in the morning when we made waffles it was a true treat.”
Elevated 900 sq ft space with vaulted ceiling and 500 sq ft of wrap-around deck in the treetops. 3 bedrooms (2 Queens + full-size futon which is 6" narrower than a Queen and therefore a bit tight for 2 adults) and 2 full bathrooms. Adjacent to National Forest land and just 40 miles from the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah Nat'l Park and Skyline Drive. Our home is within the Bryce Resort - offering (in season) golf, mountain biking, zipline, and lake with beach, kayaks/canoes.
“The stay at the treehouse was incredible! We loved relaxing for our 2 night stay and exploring the town around us. The guest book and the binder put together by Mark was amazing. I also loved that there were basic needs in the house like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, spices, etc. Loved the DVD collection that was available for us to binge watch Simpson’s at night while we relaxed inside since it was colder. The wild life was awesome around the treehouse too. The first driveway was paved halfway up and my 2019 Toyota Corolla was able to make it up with ease. We didn’t attempt the back driveway because the top was significantly more convenient for us with no steps. Mark was very communicative about the stay also. We already have our next trip booked! PS. Don’t hike Orkney spring trail off alum spring rd. We couldn’t pass through the main road to Marks recommended spot because of a downed tree and found this trail. It was a 35% grade and was super hard despite what all trails said. I’m still sore today. Lol! If you do decide to, only go to the view point. The super steep treck to the top brings you to the peek in the middle of the woods with no view. Wasn’t worth it.”
