“I can find no fault whatsoever with this beautiful tranquil cottage! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived and stepped in the front door. Ample room for us both and our 2 dogs in the living areas. Good size kitchen with every utensil you could think of. Bedrooms are spacious and the beds sooooo comfy! Massive bathroom with a huuuuge mirror and plenty of hot water! Electric heaters throughout the cottage enables you to control the temperature really well throughout the day and night. The garden is a great size with a lovely table and chair set and bike locking areas. The cottage was sparkling clean and had LOADS of leaflets on the surrounding area, along with some books and a smart TV with netflix which occupied us for a couple of quiet evenings in. The cottage does literally back on to the cycle trail..... Just like it says on the description. Parkend is a lovely village with a cycle shop, post office & cafe and a couple of pubs all within easy walking distance. The cottage is away from main road and there is minimal noise. The pub could not be any closer, walking out of the back of the pub and through the beer garden to the front gate of the cottage takes about 1 minute! Pub serves lovely food, but it gets really busy so booking in advance is highly adviseable. We absolutely adored our holiday at this cottage and will be returning hopefully very soon. It really felt so homely and we all felt very settled within minutes of unpacking! Thank you so much!”
An immaculately presented studio apartment providing the highest standard of accommodation attached to the owner’s own home in the popular village of Parkend. The Little Acorn is perfect for couples who want to relax and enjoy the beautiful unspoilt countryside. It is ideally situated with cycle/walking trails right outside the gate. Bikes can be hired in the village and the Nagshead Nature Reserve and the picturesque Cannop ponds are all in walking distance.
“Michelle has created a little oasis on the side of her own very lovely house. The standard of fittings and comfort are second to none and it is spotlessly clean. Little Acorns is within walking distance of two pubs, the steam railway, a lovely RSPB nature reserve and numerous walks. 20 minutes away from the Wye Valley where we kayaked for the day. We would definitely book here again and recommend it to all.”
On the edge of the Royal forest of Dean in a friendly village with two great pubs and the Forest of Dean steam railway, many walks and cycle trails, near the Severn and Wye rivers. Nearest town Lydney with local commerce and services.
“David and Steph are not just super hosts they are really nice people. They are kind and friendly and made me feel very welcome from the outset. Dave even introduced me to the local ale at his nearby pub. The accommodation is quiet, clean and comfortable, and the location is ideal for easy access to beautiful countryside and outdoor activities. I would definitely recommend them and will visit again myself.”
