This is a beautifully renovated house. Major river access for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, etc. There is a large back yard with a firepit facing the water as well as a back porch/deck and a large front deck to enjoy watching the water and wildlife. The area is so quiet and peaceful but yet directly located in the town of Potsdam.
“Good day. We stayed for a family gathering and celebration of my daughters graduation from Pdam and mini vacation. Gail is a great host. She was responsive after the booking and has everything laid out in the guest book (black and white stripes) when you arrive. The house was immaculate and the decor is modern and inviting. We were a party of 5 and 4 bedrooms were adequate. We commented with twin beds and large living room you could have up to 8-10 people comfortably. Many amenities like washer dryer, kayak, spacious kitchen, dinner wear, pans, and so on. If staying for more than two days you should take advantage of making your meals. We brought our food and had awesome meals each day. No real challenges, but during seasonal times there are geese in the area. Make sure if you stay in early spring/summer or late fall to wear proper footware by the fire pit and waters edge. The pictures posted don't do justice to this property. The neighborhood was quiet and everyone locally was cordial. If going to the North Country again, I would book this place. This is a better deal than the other options(Motel/Hotels) in the area.”
Following Covid cleaning protocol-more below Beth’s Place (brand new in 2014) is a private apartment with its own private entrance. The apartment is spacious, well-appointed and we know you will love it! Just minutes, even walking distance from down town Potsdam. 1 mile from Clarkson University, 2 miles from SUNY Potsdam, 10 miles from SLU and SUNY Canton. And, just finishing up our new putting green for guest to use! Electric car owners - we have a 220V/30A Tesla/EV charge hook up available.
“We can not recommend Beth’s enough. The location is easy to find, nicely secluded but not so far out that it’s difficult to get supplies you might need, and absolutely beautiful. The nature out there is incredible, we were even fortunate enough to watch baby foxes play across the river on one of our kayak rides. The space itself is very modern and beautiful, it really checks all of the boxes. Beth is also absolutely the best; she has such a warm, motherly presence that you feel immediately like family. She was there whenever we needed her and more than happy to get us set up for boating and evening fires. An extra bonus: It’s conveniently close to the Thousand Islands and makes for a wonderful day trip. Seriously, this is a must stay. You won’t be disappointed!”
Our home is walking distance to resturants, shopping, parks, walking trails, SUNY Potsdam and Clarkston universities. We have two smaller dogs, therefore, we are unable to accept pets. The area offers many site seeing adventures, breathtaking fall colors, and winter wonderland beauty. The Adirondacks offer over 3000 lakes with fishing, hunting, boating, camping, hiking, all winter sports and much more. Take a beautiful scenic drive to lake Placid, home of winter Olympics of 1980.
“Friendly housemates, morning coffee and a prime location next to Clarkson University made for a wonderful campus visit. Quaint room in a charming home walking distance to town. The hosts were wonderful to communicate with and available to answer any questions right away. Thanks for a great stay!”
