Cottage vacation rentals in Rangárþing ytra

Cozy peaceful place with a horse farm next to the house. It is perfectly fit with my family group of 8 adults plus 1 child. The house is clean and tidy. The kitchen is fully equipped with all we need for cookings. The host is helpful and super friendly with prompt responses to our questions. He even comes visiting in-person to help us on BBQ set up. We had a great stay!

It is the great place for family, you can see the aurora at night and enjoy the day with hot stub outside the cabin. Highly recommend this place.

Excellently located for short drive to most key attractions within the golden circle. Very quiet and away from the main towns so perfect for seeing the northern lights. Spacious modern house with everything we need. Dóróthea and Baldur were perfect hosts and very responsive. We must come back here!

We absolutely loved staying here! It was easy to get to in winter with 4WD and was a lovely location to watch the northern lights (there is not much light pollution). We visited in February and watched the lights from the hot tub multiple nights in a row. It is also the perfect location to visit the three 3 major attractions on the Golden Circle (Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss) as well as other Golden Circle destinations. They are all within a 10-30 minute drive. The house was clean, warm, and inviting. The welcome book and “leaving Uthlið” book was very detailed and well thought-out. Everything in the house was in its place as the notebook and instructions stated. Palmi and Vala were very responsive and had great recommendations. 10/10 Highly recommend!

This is a place I could’ve stayed at for a long time. A fantastically stocked kitchen and spacious living area. It comes across much larger than advertise. The best part of the place is its peaceful serenity, and its wonderful view. Good central location for doing day trips to check out many great locations that South Iceland provides. Would definitely stay here again, and again and again and again. 😊

It was incredible to have so much space on our trip. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook our own meals without issue. The hot tub was a great bonus! My only gripes were the tight bathroom, non functioning TV, and no ice cube tray (minor, I know). Overall would highly recommend!

Warm, cozy country style, home in the south of iceland. Hotub was great, and the kitchen had everything you would need to make a great meal. And we saw the northern lights every night of our stay in April.

This cottage is a dream vacation place. Ingibjorg is very friendly, helpful & communicative, and everything inside the cottage was pristine, well organized & very stylish. The outdoor amenities of the hot tub, sauna, glass patio house, and her very friendly horses in the adjacent field really made the place a one-of-a-kind 5-star stay. With a location that is very private in the rugged countryside only an hour and a half from Reykavik, it is ideally situated as a central hub for only an hour's drive to many main attractions in southern Iceland like Geysir, Gullfoss, Secret Lagoon to the north, and Seljalandsfoss, Solheimajokull and the Reynisfjara black sand beach to the south. It was a perfect stay for a wonderful trip! Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland.

Stunning view. A classic A-frame cabin. Soooo quiet and peaceful. Peaceful. Easy to walk to the restaurant and if you choose, walk to the little communities nearby, including farms and the local church. It's a cabin in the golden circle. Don't be a jerk. Appreciate. We are all lucky to experience this. And if you ask a question, Jake ANSWERS you almost immediately. But really... the porch overlooking the valley... and the AMAZING outdoor shower with hot water from the local geothermal station. SHUT UP if you don't appreciate how special this is. Therapeutic. Ahhhhhhhh. We stayed up late and saw the northern lights. Doesn't get better for peace and authentic. Thanks Jake!!!! 😁

Enjoy your stay in this cabin in the snow

A great location to use as a base to explore everything the beautiful Icelandic country has to offer. We stayed for 6 days after Christmas 2024, the cabin was cosy warm, the beds super comfy and had everything we needed. The kids loved the snow.

We loved our stay at Oli’s cottage. It was the perfect place to get away from it all. The location was great and there was enough for us to see and do locally so we didn’t have to travel too far as we only had 4 days. It was wonderful to be able to use the sauna after a day out exploring. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Oli was really helpful and quick to reply to any questions we had. I would 100% recommended staying here and we hope to return again.

Amazing house! We watched the northern lights sitting right in the hot tub. It was unforgettable. The house is very cozy and clean, it has everything you need, the kitchen is equipped with everything! The fireplace also plays an important role, we enjoyed it after a long day on the road. Also thank you for the karaoke, we had a lot of fun. This was the best house for New Year celebration , my friends and I are very grateful to you!

Incredible location and incredible cabin. The cabin and the views are definitely worth the stay alone, on top of all the other nice amenities added on. It’s a must stay!

We stayed here for two nights and it was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and a great location for driving along the golden circle. We even saw the northern lights from the deck!

Nordurnes is a really nice tiny house in the middle of nature. All around you it is peaceful and it feels very relaxing. Maja is very open and likeable and gave us good tips for our explorations. Nordurnes is also really well equipped and it has everything you need. We felt very well taken care of here.

Loved our stay here in Iceland! The home was spotlessly clean and so easy to find. It had a really cosy feel, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. A fun bonus was being close to a stable with horses! Plus, it was well-equipped with everything we needed, including a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine. The towel heater in the bathroom was a lovely touch too. Highly recommend!

The lodge we stayed in was perfect for a couple. Plenty of space yet not too big. Bed was incredibly comfortable. To say the location is peaceful is a vast understatement. Silence. Perfect for our wee weekend away. Thank you Hulda

This was our families first trip out of the US! The place was amazing and the pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful the scenery was. Our stay at this lovely caving made us feel as if we had lived there our entire life. Looking forward to staying here again the next time we visit Iceland!
