“We loved everything about staying at the Wood Retreat -- the location is beautiful! We spent many hours outside by the creek or on the rocking chair in the front. For families, there are so many games to choose from, the kids will never get bored. There's also something very special about staying at a house that was built so many years ago, it's very different from anywhere we've ever been. Shannon's great and super helpful. Highly recommend it!”

“This is a wonderful little rustic getaway that offers sweet silence away from everything, but is close enough to Lewisburg that if you want to explore you can. The cabin was easy to find, clean, and had everything we needed to spend a few days as our hub as we hiked the local area (Beartown and Monongahela National Forest). The list of local places was also very helpful. Would stay here again.”

“I booked Shannon’s place last minute, in a desperate attempt to get out of my house and get my mom out of hers for a night, after months of quarantining at home and going very few places. We just wanted a relaxing, comfortable place to stay. I knew from the reviews that we were going to have a good experience, but what Shannon provides in her home far exceeded any expectations I had. The home is spotless and both quaint and stylish in decor. Shannon lives on the second floor but the only times we saw her were when she greeted us at arrival and when she came down to the kitchen at night to prepare our continental breakfast for the morning. There are personal touches all over the home, like some family photos, and certificates/war medals that Shannon’s dad received for service in WWII. She has thought of EVERYTHING a guest might want or need, from cold drinks, to bowls of candy, to baked goods free for guests to try. Beds were wonderful, too. I’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s but as far as hospitality, thoughtfulness, and care for guests, the experience Shannon provides is the best I have ever been a part of. My mom is not usually a big fan of Airbnb’s but she loved the experience and even wrote Shannon a note when we left. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Guest House!”
