The deserted Dookinella stone village still stands in the field nextdoor. Keel village is a 5-minute drive with restaurants, local butcher selling Achill lamb and fisherman selling from boat. It's 6 miles north of Boyle and approx 15 miles from Sligo. Lough Arrow is one of Ireland’s renowned brown trout lakes. Guests have their own private jetty at the end of the garden, fishing is free and our boat is available to hire at extra cost. Carrowkeel's Megalithic tombs, older than Newgrange, are just across the lake and wonderful to explore.
