  • Tour and sip at VA’s oldest distillery
The tour begins in our lobby with one of our knowledgeable tour guides. They’ll take you on a trip down memory lane, back to the American Revolution and the pioneering spirit that created this country. You’ll learn about the Bowman family and their impact on Virginia and the United States. Then, you’ll visit our distilling room to see where the magic happens. We’ll introduce you to our two stills — George and Mary, lovingly named to pay homage to the parents of the Bowman brothers — and show you our laboratory, where we test and analyze every batch to make sure it meets our very high standards. Then it’s off to the barrel dumping room, where we explain how we taste test and prepare our spirits for bottling. The next stop is everyone’s favorite sight and smell of the tour — the barrel storage and maturation area! Lastly, we take a look at our bottling line. After the tour, we invite all guests 21 and older to join us at the tasting bar in our gift shop to try our available products. All of our spirits are available for purchase in the gift shop, including many of our limited-release products. Our gift shop also features local crafts made from our bourbon barrels, glassware, apparel, and tasty Virginia-made treats.
