“Upon arriving at Shantiniketan (Peace House), I was relieved and overjoyed to find that it looks as stunning as the photos. Welcoming gifts of champagne, local handmade soap, and a handwritten note were left on the table. Sunetra and Ananda make every effort to make you feel at ease and I really felt the love. The place was sparkling clean and included a well stocked kitchen (blender, crockpot, spices, tea and coffee, plenty of pots and pans), a fireplace with supplied wood pellets, fast wifi, Samsung/Roku TVs in every room, and a lake view to lift your spirits. I enjoyed using the kayak to get some exercise and explore nature (I found Canadian geese nesting with eggs in the middle of Briscoe Lake). Communication was excellent, all my queries were answered within minutes. Nearby Stone Arch Bridge Historical Park has nice walking trails and I enjoyed visiting Diehl Homestead Farm for fresh eggs, steak, honey, maple syrup and Peck's Market for fresh produce from local farms. I was sad to leave, but hopeful to come back again.”

“Spent the weekend here with my family and we had a wonderful time. The property is spacious, clean, and stylish. The wood stove was an added bonus! This was our third stay in the area and this house was by far our favorite yet. Location is amazing. Easy walk to the Arnold house or a 5 minute drive into Livingston Manor. Chris was a great host and excellent at communicating everything regarding our stay. Highly recommend this house !”
This charming, private guest house used to be the Rolling River Café, converted into a cozy space with a pellet stove, a queen bed upstairs and a futon downstairs. Perfect for 1 to 4 guests, such as 2 couples, 3 friends, or a family of 3 or 4. It is private - no sharing with any other guests. It has an open floor plan on both floors.
“We loved it so much , we have extended our stay! Our dog had a lot of space to run around, drinking morning coffee by the river is the best thing ever! Cozy nights in front of fire place, and amazing kitchen , where you cook your favorite dishes. Place very clean and great communication with Kim! Don’t forget to check food form their Upward Kitchen at Upward Brewery it’s out of this world!”
