Join me for a 3-hour bicycle tour of Copenhagen, where we bike around the city and visit all the major sites including The Little Mermaid, Nyhavn, Rosenborg Castle, and many more. Along the way I will tell you about danish history, and you will get insights into design, architecture, culture and current affairs as well. From the ancient vikings, to H.C. Andersen, to the current royal family, the Danish welfare system and more. I encourage dialogue and a fun relaxed atmosphere. We cycle between sites, enjoying the city on the way, and at each site stop and have a talk about the site and it’s context and significance. I am Danish, born and raised in Copenhagen, but fluent in english, so you will be in good hands. The tour starts from the central city where I provide you with quality bicycles and teach you some tips about how to bike in Copenhagen, to keep you safe, and make sure you have a nice experience. Half way we will have a short rest at a food market, where you will have a opportunity to buy a coffee or a quick snack. Copenhagen is a bicycle city. You will meet up with your guide and the rest of the group at a central meeting point. After an initial welcome, all guests will be paired with their own easy-to-handle bicycle. After a few safety instructions you will ride on to your first food stop just around the corner. Here, you will try some delicious Fiskefrikadeller (fish meatballs) with fresh ryebread and remoulade. This is followed by a very traditional dessert known as Flødebolle (cream ball). Then you will be riding on to the heart of the city, where you will try a Danish-style hot dog. You the continue with your group to the area of Islands Brygge, where some tasty Danish-pastries await you. Riding on to one of the best beer-bars of the city to have a tasting of some local beers and then finishing off with the perhaps most traditional of Danish dishes: smørrebrød - open faced sandwiches.

This is our "Hidden gems" tour where we will show our own favorite spots, which are off the beaten track from the standard path. Expect to get an introduction to areas we think are cool, local, and where you get a great a sense of what the life in Copenhagen is all about. We will either take a southern route or Northern route depending on what is going on in the harbor at your specific departure day. The harbor in Copenhagen is undergoing rapid change, from an industrial harbor to recreational space open to everyone living in the city. During the summer months it acts as the main nerve binding the city together and attracting numerous water-based activities in the process. You will see how this is folds out with Kayaks passing by and happy Danes jumping into the water. We will point out our favorite places and hidden gems, whether you are looking a place for having an afternoon beer in the sun, a relaxed morning coffee, or simply and area to relax away from it all. As we explore the upcoming areas away from the inner part of the city you will see how former industrial buildings are being transformed into new spaces and how Copenhagen is evolving as a city.
