Places to stay in Aumsville
The Delaney House Inn was built in 1845 by Oregon pioneer Daniel Delaney. The house has an interesting story- love and murder! You get: 1 large full-size bed suite upstairs w/ private bath and a twin bedroom downstairs. Private living room with rollaway bed available. Wi-Fi & a view to die for. Free morning snacks w/coffee/tea. The gazebo is waiting for you to kick back in! Full breakfast available for $12/person with prior request only. Ask about doing special events here! 13yr and over
The Delaney House is the third oldest house still standing in Oregon. 10 years was spent restoring the house to its former glory. There are a lot of stories about the inhabitants of this house, including the murder of the owner - Daniel Delaney in 1865. In the book "Rachel's Son, Jackson" you can read all about the amazing story! It's such a great historical house! It is also mentioned in the book “Haunted Salem”. Ask Vicki about her job writing reviews for horror films and her love of the macabre. Her collection of unusual Halloween type props are scattered about the house. Tim loves cars, motorcycles and bicycles. He enjoys having people to ride with too! Max the dog lives here too. He is a beagle/lab mix and is very friendly. He will not go in your private area. History fans, lovers of antiques, bicyclists, photographers, musicians, international travelers, horror fans, movie makers and even paranormal investigators have visited and fell in love with the rustic charm of this house. It has a personality of it's own! For more info and events, Like our Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/DelaneyHouseInn/
We are just outside of Salem, Oregon and near the town of Turner, minutes from the 5 Frwy! There are wineries, breweries, a little theme park, amazing live theater, great restaurants, beautiful hiking, Silver Falls State Park, Willamette River activities (including a paddleboat) and lots to do nearby! Salem is very diverse and has so many cool events. Portland is only an hour away. You will not run out of beauty here - bring your camera! https://www.facebook.com/DelaneyHouseInn/

  • Beautiful place!

    Gabriel2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Like staying in a museum surrounded by antiques and lots of surprising details and memorabilia, and there's enough comfy seating in your space to find the chair that's just right. A quiet place with lots to think about and write about, with the decorations and floor plan like living in a writing prompt. Enjoyed chatting with Vicki, and I look forward to returning.

    Greg2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Yulia's home is sparkling clean and is in a nice area which is very quiet. The room we stayed in was very comfortable. She prepares a very nice breakfast with fresh fruit. She is very helpful also.

    Virgil W (Wes)2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful spot minutes from Salem and Yulia is an incredible host! My kids and I were lucky enough to watch the eclipse from the sprawling back yard, complete with breakfast that Yulia prepared for us. I cannot recommend the location enough, especially for people road-tripping to/from Portland. Downtown Salem is minutes away and Yulia has many recs about what to see there. We had an incredible stay.

  • A very nicely decorated, sparkling clean bungalow in a great location near Historic Downtown Stayton. We enjoyed walking to the see The Jordan Covered Bridge, located in Pioneer Park and going to the dog park. We also had good times at Snow Peak Brewery and the Covered Bridge Cafe.

    Mike2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks!

    Summer2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Some think Stayton is just some sleepy little town that few stop at, and rather drive through, but this early 20th-century home offers a marvelous private room, a bit like an eclectically yet lovingly decorated studio, in walking distance of the fun: restaurants, parks, the waterfront, and some interesting shopping. It's also a short drive to Silver Falls State Park, the main reason we chose it, but we and our dogs loved the room and its private accompanying yard. The hostess, Priscilla, will be quick to address questions, and her staff (she operates a window blind business out of the home) will likewise prove quite friendly... plus, they adore dogs. There are great Mexican and Chinese eateries nearby, plus local vineyards, and a new brewery near the dog park and waterfront park, the latter of which offers fine walking. Savor the stay here, and just slow down after those busy days wine-tasting and hiking in the forest...

    Edwin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. Thanks

    David2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very cute. It had thoughtful touches, plenty of towels and a very comfy bed. We enjoyed being able to just walk downtown. Stayton is a really nice town. We walked to the tap house and got food at the wooden nickel in sublimity. Plenty of coffee and dishes, and there was even food in the freezer that Priscilla let us eat. We work full time so we’re out during 7-5, a few places in town close around that time but there’s a brewery and a good pizza place. We had Sunday breakfast in town and walked the town a lot. Priscilla shared many great local tips and when it rained we stayed cozy by the fireplace. The WiFi signal was pretty bad, I had to use my hot spot most of the time because it would go in and out. Everything was we kept and I loved the vintage decor.

    Alicia2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed out time at the stayton house! Check in was simple and the space was exactly what we were looking for.

    Heather2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I dream of having our own vintage trailer one day and Ron and his wife made this one really feel like home. We were pleasantly surprised with how well stocked the trailer was. They even had coloring books, hot chocolate, such nice touches. Can’t forget about the electric blankets. 😍 despite it being awful weather when we were visiting we were still allowed to go in to the barn to see the animals and that was great. This is also a great town for thrift shopping if you’re into that kind of thing. We cooked most of our meals in the trailer’s kitchen. It was well equipped with pans and utensils. The trailer is close to the owner’s house but they were super quiet and we felt like we had plenty of privacy. We hope to come back during warmer months. :)

  • Thank you so much!! Very comfortable, super cute trailer. Quiet peaceful, everything I could of wanted or needed was thought of. Lovely lavender gifts and tea that helped me sleep. Met the animals in the morning which was a wonderful treat. Little Miss Hope was very friendly, super sweet and refreshing. I will be back 😊

  • Beautiful and simple place. Loved it.

    Tiffney2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This space was just as advertised. We just needed a quiet private place to regroup away from crazy life. It was exactly what we hoped it would be: quiet, clean, close to food for the meals we didn’t want to cook in. Set us up for a perfect hike at Silver Falls the next day.

    Susan2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ron doesn't hold back on any of the amenities. Even though it may have been "just an RV", the kitchen was fully prepared to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner to include a coffee maker with kcups provided as well as creamer if you so choose. I couldn't have been more impressed with the quaint space and would happily stay there again

  • This home and property are WONDERFUL! We greatly enjoyed our time here - just a long weekend but it felt much longer! We were able to invite our local family to come see us and share these amazing living spaces with them too. The dining table and kitchen are HUGE, perfect for playing games and eating as a group. This is definitely the kitchen of my dreams. Upgrades are thoughtfully done with attention to the maintain the charm of the home. Bathrooms and bedrooms are spacious. Two giant bath tubs and plenty of clean towels!! The beds were comfy too. Our kids all had a wonderful time and not once did we worry about them getting into anything they shouldn’t, the playroom was so amazing (so many toys and games!) and made traveling with children easy which isn’t always the case! We barely left the farm once we got there! We had so much fun exploring outside and seeing animals from the neighboring properties as well as our daily dose of deer in the yard. We will definitely stay again if they’ll have us!

  • This place was as described, with several details that exceeded expectations. The kitchen was fully stocked, the best I have ever seen at an airbnb. • Very beautiful and comfortable home. The game room was definitely a surprise and it had pool, air-hockey, darts, foseball, wii, etc. It was a nice getaway for my friends and I. The owner (Chris) was very helpful and caring! He went above and beyond by giving us a house tour once we arrived, decorating the home and having snacks already there for us! I would definitely recommend staying here!!

    Cinthya2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This home is thoughtfully updated and kept sparkling clean. Linens are very nice and plentiful. Beds were comfortable and clean. We would recommend staying here 100%. The host was wonderful and pleasant to communicate with.

  • We had a great stay.Chris and his dad were awesome hosts!Especially enjoyed selections on the television!

    Mike2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were in Stayton to celebrate a birthday. We have a large family (6 children) and Chris's Farmhouse worked out great for us!!! The house was a great size. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of any Airbnb we have stayed at (pots, pans, griddle, utensils, etc...)! Chris met us and walked us through the house on arrival which had many personal touches (like a quart of Tillamook ice cream!). There were plenty of comfortable beds, a beautiful and spacious sunroom and up to date bathrooms. Our kids loved the game garage which had a foosball table, ice hockey, pool and table tennis as well as a Wii. Our kids spent most of their time in there and had a blast! The kids were also fascinated by the record player he had in there and they continually played the 70/80's music records that were in there. Overall, the pictures do not do Chris's Farmhouse justice. This place is great and we hope to stay here again!!!!!!!

    John2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Chris has an amazing house and took the extra time to welcome our team with special touches! The girls loved the game room! We will definitely be back!

    Alicia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We spent the holiday at the farm house, when we first arrived we were surprised that it was more spacious than we expected and it was great! Chris was friendly, and showed us their new addition to the house which was a pool/air hockey table in the garage. We recommend this place for anyone!

    Louis2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

  • This is a nice little getaway in a quaint little town. The house was clean and it was nice to have access to Netflix and Hulu. Angie was super responsive by text, and they let us have our privacy. We were staying for a month because our new house wasn't ready yet, and we even got mail and packages there, which they were fine with! There is an amazing restaurant/brewery down the road called Angel's Share which we also frequented, and the Turnaround Cafe was excellent as well. In addition to all of that good food, Angie gave us a large container of her award-winning homemade salsa, which we gobbled down with chips almost immediately!

  • Angie's place was perfect for our family weekend--an easy drive into Salem, quiet at night, enough space for everyone, and we super appreciated that there was space to put everything--plenty of closet, drawer, shelf, space, and hooks which made it easy to keep things neat even with our big group. Loved the beautiful garden and landscaping. Thank you!

  • Excellent host and an absolutely amazing place to stay :)

  • This place is great for a small family and a great bargain I'm very happy to have stayed there

    Gonzalo2019-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot!! Whether you’re coming to visit family in Salem or going to the very close by Silver Falls State Park, Angie’s detached home is a WONDERFUL spot to stay for one night or many! Lots of space, privacy and very comfortable. We loved it!

    Sean2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We liked it so much we had to stay an extra 3 days, hahaha. Actually, our work schedule had pushed our job an extra few days and Angie was quick to make sure we were able to stay. Thank you so much for being super flexible with our schedule Angie! The only bummer was, we didn't get to say good bye to Tucker. Whenever we are in the area again, we will make sure to hit you up first!!!

Rural farming neighborhood with country roads great for walking or biking.
  • We enjoyed our stay here very much! I feel like we got a good deal and it met our needs perfectly. Check in was quick and easy and we all moved on with our day. They were always very quick to respond to our questions too. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious! We were grateful to have privacy and a bathroom to ourselves, as there were no other guests. We appreciated the thoughtful touches -like toiletries, water bottles, bathrobes, slippers, and even flowers that made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area.

  • Ellen & Greg’s home was a perfect respite for me. Large quiet room, beautiful views, delicious breakfasts, and they are lovely people. I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area.

    Casey2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't know what to expect when they say farm stay. This is a beautiful old farm house. They're certified organic and you get to taste their yummy preserves with breakfast. The room is larger than I expected with a big comfortable bed; I wished I booked two nights instead of one cause I wanted to rest there longer. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem, we never saw anyone else using it. The farm cat outside is super friendly, but the desire to settle in and brush her fur was strong.. This is a lovely place to stay if you happen to be traveling through. Traveling by bicycle here was a bit rough with the rolling hills and driving winds, but I think most people arrive by car and wouldn't notice this. They accommodated our vegan request with a lovely and tastey breakfast presentation.

As it has always been, the safety and security of our guests remains our highest priority. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. I myself have personally provided direct patient care for over 39 years. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken additional measures developed in consultation with global and local public health authorities (including the WHO and CDC) to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous.
Our teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced operating protocols. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas (including lobbies, door handles, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. We have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers. We have even made personal take home antibacterial hand sanitizers for your purse or travel bag. The Tulip Poplar House was built in 1884 and was the residence of Stayton first Mayor Leander Brown. This beautiful Historical Home located at 227 2nd Avenue has a Grand Poplar in the front yard that is a brilliant and historical and the residence of the home itself. We are downtown and in walking distance to the entire downtown core. Leander "Lee" Brown was born April 26th 1833 in Knightstown, Indiana. He married Martha A. Lowry in 1855. They came to Stayton 1883/1884.Stayton is situated on the banks of the Santiam River. Don't miss our many enchanted covered bridges in the area. Many years ago a canal was directed to pass directly through the present town of Stayton. The initial attempt to Incorporate Stayton failed in 1884. The Stayton City Charter was adopted on February 18, 1891 with the first council meeting being held on March 7th 1891. Leander Brown was elected the town's first mayor. Historians-Visitors are especially interested in following Mr. Lau's online guide of Staytons historical structures.
Drury Smith Stayton purchased 29 acres of forest land in 1866 and with his son began digger a ditch of the North Santiam River to bring water to the industries of the town that would be named for him. The Tulip Poplar House is just around the corner from UGO's famous pizza and within walking distance to the entire downtown core. Enjoy Stayton!

  • Aaron & Cindi = amazing people Aaron & Cindi’s place = incredible Some friends and I stayed the night at this location and everything was above and beyond what we anticipated. From Aaron and Cindi’s great hospitality and quick communication, to their stellar place with wonderful touches of coziness, to the forest-like area just off the grid, this was a joyful stay in myriad ways. I can’t recommend this Airbnb place with Aaron and Cindi enough.

  • A very lovely place to stay with thoughtful touches all around. James was excellent with communicating, and was accommodating with our later than expected arrival. He even helped us with our luggage. The kitchen had everything we needed to do a little on- the-road meal prep. Comfy bed. Clean. Would stay there again 100%.

  • Our stay at the Gardner House was delightful! James greeted us and showed us in, even though it was a Holiday. We stayed in the room with the private entrance and it was great. The best part... Breakfast the next morning. The food, the tea, the sweets and croissants... Just incredible. They also have these amazing warm milk drinks called steamers, I'm hooked. I only wish we had booked another night there. We will absolutely be staying again if ever we pass through again.

  • Great place, very clean and nice on the inside. Easy Check in. It may have been in the reviews, but I did not realize there is only one bathroom with the only sink in the master bedroom, which was a little awkward, but not a huge deal if you are staying with family.

  • The house is located about a 12 minute drive from Salem. Very quiet neighborhood. The house is a decent size 2 bedroom that was very clean. We had business in Salem and stayed in this house for 5 days. It was perfect for our use. If you want to walk to evening activities, this is not the house for you. If you want a nice home to come back to and relax for the evening, this place is perfect.
