Pragya`s mother welcomed me very nicely. The cooking was awesome, the couch was soft and really nice. Overall a good stay. One advice: make sure light switches are clean. Better they have the original color (white) not black. And they were a little sticky. I would also paint the whole place. But I loved the cooking! Worth coming back for.

Pragya was a magnificent host. The home is lovely. The rooms clean and comfortable. You can buy meals directly from her which will come to your apartment and which are delicious. She spent time with us to discuss the our travels, suggest places to visit, and suggest places to do some shopping. And, as if that were not enough, on my traveling companion's birthday, she sent a small birthday cake to celebrate.

I stayed at Bajoria's residence for five days in the week of 9 Feb 2015. This is the first time I stayed at an Airbnb and I am glad the experience was a good one. Jayshree was really welcoming, making sure I had everything I needed. The apartment is absolutely charming - spacious, well furnished, well maintained. It's the first floor of their residence - an old-ish house on Ballygunge Circular Road. It is well located and well connected with the main attractions of the city. Thank you for making my stay a nice one!

We are 3 people Pragya mother's house three days, basically this house has a separate living room can be used, very clean surroundings will not be noisy horns, even slept on the living room sofa windows open too not have mosquito problems, comfort I give very high marks, around to the various attractions are also very convenient, but you'll have to take the MRT, people who work here are very friendly and even though I feel that they did not really understand English but still very enthusiastic to help me deal with my problem, on this point I'm really happy I like their service, they are a group of very cute and industrious man, mother Pragya English ability is very good, but also help We answer any questions we have to ask, I am very grateful to her and his staff who provide them with food is also very tasty highly recommend them to give you a surprise Brunch, short, this house is a very quiet and comfortable good house.

Good n helpful hosts

The suite was wonderful! Pragya's mother Jaishree who lives one floor up was the perfect hostess. Anything I needed she immediately saw to. The AC, Wifi and hot water are great. An extra bonus are the delicious meals that you can request for a very reasonable price! I will definitely try to stay here the next time I come to Kolkata

We opted for staying here as it claimed to be quiet. It was very quiet compared to the city, and we loved the area, but I'm not sure many areas in Calcutta are really quiet! We had trouble finding it by taxi, but that wasn't the host's fault. The flat is big rather than cozy, but not in a bad way. It has a large seating area, and a big bedroom. There wasn't anywhere to put clothes away, but that's minor thing. The family were really nice, and the staff friendly. Breakfast is available on request... We had eggs and Indian style, both fine..this cost us 150 rupees each which we didn't mind, but some might find expensive compared to local prices. In short, a nice area to stay and friendly too.

Okay! So Jojo is ridiculously amazing. He was warm and welcoming. The room was nice and clean and he provided a lot of things to make my stay great like an iron and also a water station in the room. When I arrived he took me to a restaurant and the food was amazing. He gave me such great tips on getting around and where to eat. He also suggested what to eat which was helpful because I only had a small idea of what some of the things on the menu were. He was always available for questions through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) which was really convenient. He is so friendly and professional and really sweet. I HIGHLY recommend him! And the price is great too!!

Jojo is an incredible host. Although we only stayed one night, he was really involved in making sure we were fine and guiding us to nice places. He even took us for a fantastic indian breakfast! The room is cosy, in a quiet neighborhood and close to public transport,and the wifi is good as well :) the perfect place in Kolkata!

It's really amazing

Probal was a lovely host and the apartment was big, bright and airy. A few things: the page says the apartment has wifi, when in fact it does not. This is no big deal if you have a smartphone/ sim, but something to consider. Also, getting in late at night could be difficult - the gates are locked and it can be difficult/ near impossible to wake the guards. I think they shut the gates pretty late, but if you're a late night owl this could be something to consider. Otherwise, really liked the place and would stay again.

Very welcoming host in the centre of Kolkata. Since he is staying in the same house mostly, you can ask for everything directly. Also good knowledge about the city, what to do and better not. Big recommendation.

Good hospitality

The apartment is nice and authentic - high ceilings, big windows, retro furniture. And the district itself is very nice and interesting, especially if you'll go to the Hope cafe and farther. We like to walk a lot, so for us it was perfect. The owner, Probal, was also nice and helpful, he gave us some advise about famous places and even offered to walk together (unfortunately we couldn't because of the flue). There were only few unexpected things: wi-fi didn't work, kitchen was shared with Probal's uncle (and it definitely needs a lot of cleaning). But Probal told us that he is planning to make a separate kitchen on the balcony. Also you need to be aware of really weak water pressure - sometimes it was impossible to take a shower. But I suppose it's a common problem for old buildings. Anyway, I think we would stay at Probal's place for the next time.

Prabal's place was a perfect fit for my requirement. Very easy to commute to different part of the city. Kamal was very helpful on daily basis. The antique look of this place was fabulous.

Minal was the best AirBNB host I've ever had! From the first communication over AirBNB to the last day of my two week stay at her beautiful apartment, it was such a lovely experience and one of my highlights of my trip to Kolkata. By the end of my time there (actually, after only a few days there), it felt more like I was staying with an old friend than at another person's apartment. The apartment itself was large and comfortable in a beautiful quiet suburb - an oasis from the sometime chaos of Kolkata's city! All of the bedrooms had separate bathrooms, and her cleaner came daily, meaning that the apartment was always spotless and my laundry was always clean! I cannot recommend this place - or Minal's excellent hospitality - enough to do the experience justice! I am already thinking about another trip back to Kolkata, and I will not even be considering staying at another place for even a minute.

This is a huge apartment in a quiet Kolkata residential neighbourhood. My room was airy and full of light with attached new bathroom. Furniture and appliances are either new or in good condition. I felt homely and welcome. The location is not fully central but features lots of good restaurants. The huge Quest mall is in walking distance. Lots of trees and green around. Minal was welcoming, interested, and friendly without being intrusive. She helped in any possible way and made my stay a relaxing and unforgettable experience.

I stayed at Minal's apartment for four nights and it was a wonderful and pleasant stay. Although I couldn't meet her since she was travelling, she was very accessible over phone calls and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and helped me out whenever I had any query or problem. The house is lovely and airy and in a good neighbourhood. Being a solo female traveller, I felt the area was safe, and easily accessible which was a big plus. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely go back there when I visit Calcutta, and also recommend her place highly to anyone else visiting the city.

Minal is one of the warmest person's I have ever met. Right from the time before I actually booked till the time we checked out, she helped us thru the unfamiliar landscape of Kolkata. A clam and quiet place with nice surroundings and several amenities available for guests to make their stay comfortable. Minal did follow-up on several occasions before our arrival to ensure the check-in process was efficient and seamless.

Poonam Ji and her family are wonderful host. They made us feel completely at home and were always available for any help required. The listing is exactly as described and the location is very central yet peaceful being at the end of a lane off the main road. I would definitely want to stay here on my next trip to Kolkata. We felt easily at Home and since we are particular about cleanliness and hygiene we were very happy to see that Poonam too maintains high standards. Recommended place to stay for families.

Only stayed for a night but totally enjoyed the room after a night on a train - Comfy bed, warm shower, AC. Poonam provided us with breakfast on arrival as we were checking in early which was really nice. Poonam was helpful and always there when we needed something.

I booked this space on a friend’s recommendation (who has stayed here before) and I think it was a brilliant decision! Poonam Aunty was really sweet and always available if I needed anything. Though I stayed just for a day, I could feel the warmth and love of her and her family! The area is excellent, quiet, central and very convenient to travel around. The food was great too! It was awesome to have breakfast with Poonam Aunty trying to feed you more and more and more ! She’s a little shy but once u get talking, she’s just amazing. The room is beautifully done and very comfortable! The house helps she has are also very helpful! I strongly recommend her place for anyone who wants a home away from home ! (The spa just opposite her house is pretty amazing! as also, there’s a multiplex just a few steps down the lane! )

A beautiful room in a wonderful apartment in a great part of Kolkata! The bed was so comfy and large and the private bathroom was great. The room was so modern and clean, it felt like home! Our whole experience was such an amazing beginning to our time in India. The whole family where warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The hospitality was second to none, we ate so well and were cared for so kindly. We loved talking with everyone and sharing pizza on an evening. We felt so welcome, it was such a wonderful experience - one we will never forget!

Sammer was very welcoming and very helpful during my stay. I requested a few things and he went out of his way to do them, and if something was not right, he would amend it immediately. The apartment is lovely and is situated in a very residential area just of Harza road. I felt completely safe and it was nice to come home in the evening and put your feet up with a nice cup of tea and just listen to the gentle street life outside! Sammer is young and extremely polite and wants to study tourism. This is one of his first projects and I am sure he will do very well. Sammer's father was also very kind and helpful.

This was my very first stay via Airbnb and I have been extremely impressed. The accommodation was exactly as it was advertised on the website. The room is large, spacious and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the through lounge is just lovely. Books were in abundance as well as some board games. The Wi-Fi is very reliable and enabled me to work whenever I needed to. The flat is centrally located and is close to some of the best restaurants, shopping malls and sights. Minal is an exceptional host. She ensured that whole process was very smooth - from booking the accommodation, to organising a pick up from the airport, through to providing help and advice with everything that I needed. Minal is very professional, an excellent communicator, approachable and responsive. At the risk of repeating myself, I have been very, very impressed and have had a wonderful stay.

I have no need to add anything new. As is evident from all the reviews, the place is awesome. There is no shortage of amenities,nor room for complaints about cleanliness or comfort. The house is BIG and very very beautiful. There is a good collection of books including Feynman lectures on physics which I was very surprised and excited to see. You can cook yourself in the COMPLETE kitchen or just eat at some of the best Bengali restaurants. Arsalan and 6 Ballygunge place are within walking distance. The place is near from both the airport and railway station and more importantly there are multiple means of communication available to reach these places from the listing. Minal is very polite and communicative and she offers you complete privacy and freedom at her house. There are no stringent house rules. The rooms are cleaned regularly and all accessories work perfectly. The WiFi is indeed fast and you can keep yourself updated on your emails and other social network accounts. For the sweet lovers like me, Balaram Mallick Mishty Magic is only a few hundred meters away and you should not miss out on the plentiful mouth watering sweet varieties of the place. To sum up, if you want an extremely comfortable stay at a prime location in Kolkata and that too at an affordable price with the benefits of all modern day amenities and a beautifully decorated home, just come to this place. No doubt Minal is a superhost. Would definitely visit her place again and soon.

I stayed at this apartment for almost 3 weeks, I would highly recommend it. I had such a lovely stay, the house is cozy and safe and Ratnaboli is supper friendly and helpful.

Our stay at Ratnaboli Ma'ams appartment was more than what we wished for in Kolkata. We instantly took a liking to her and her (as she aptly puts it) cozy appartment! It was indeed a home away from home. We spent close to a month and were extremely sad to leave it! A lovely home with all the amenities you would require. A truly gracious host, she would instantly respond to any queries we had. The location of the place is also ideal with accessible public transport and a supermarket nearby.

Ratna Aunty by a remarkable coincidence turned out to be my mother's old school classmate. I wouldn't have imagined my first Airbnb experience would be the universe converging in such a strange and beautiful way. Ratna was very accommodating as I had an extremely late flight and helped me arrange for transport from the Airport and instructed the driver carefully in Bengali for each trip I required to make. The place is just as charming as her and reflects so many lovely aspects of her character from the wonderful art to the bookshelves filled with fantastic literature. Kolkata has become my favourite city in India and should I return it will definitely be to this very apartment. The place is serene and safe within walking distance of many lovely cafes and stores. The streets are filled with life and colour representing the true nature of this beautiful city. I highly recommend staying here to experience everything that made me fall for this city. Darshana is a really warm host. She replies promptly and is always there to help. She is accommodating and ensured that we were comfortable and that everything was taken care of.

It was a great stay in the 'City of Joy'. The stay in Bonani aunty's place was just like home. The space in the house was aptly used for providing all the amenities- kitchen, dining place, refrigerator, shoe rack, etc. Aunty was also kind enough to help us with our city tour planning. It was a real pleasure to stay at Poonam's family home! Poonam, her younger son, and her mother-in-law were delightful to get to know, and we felt very honored to share their home for a few days. Poonam was caring and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was simply amazing, home-cooked with love and generosity. The appartment is very large, clean, bright, and the room and ensuite bathroom give a good sense of privacy, being off the balcony. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the bed is very comfortable, the shower is high pressure (which is a rare treat in India) and as the temperatures were rising, AC was a blessing. We highly recommend!

We were warmly welcomed by our Host. The well maintained rooms were already ready to occupy. Very homely atmosphere and warmth with the host. Very good breakfast, keeping in mind the choice of guest on their own, served with love and affection.

This is the first time I availed airbnb service and I am truly thrilled with what I got. Poonam is the best host one can get. Very caring but completely non-intrusive. And a fabulous human being.

We stayed in both the available rooms in this facility in three different occasions during this visit to India. Our stay on all these occasions were excellent. Poonam and his staff did everything they could do to feel us welcoming and our stay was comfortable. They were very helpful without overbearing. The rooms were as described and bathrooms were clean with adequate hot water arrangement. Breakfast was very good and they added variety to it as well while accommodating our irregular schedule of having breakfast. We had good company during the breakfast from guests in the other room and conversation was interesting - Poonam joined us during the breakfast when we were not late. Poonam also helped us big time by storing our luggage in between trips. I could enter into the accommodation at 1-30 AM in the early morning due to my flight arrival and Poonam was very accommodative. We came late many days beyond 11-00 PM when main gate to the compound closes and we were let in by the staff. Overall, our stay was very good and can't be any better! We can recommend this facility to anyone from outside India or within India.
