Places to stay in Brattleboro
Our place is situated on a plateau above West River with access to an 8-mile bike path, hiking trails, idyllic river swimming and cross country skiing. We're two miles to grocery stores and gas stations and 4 miles to charming downtown Brattleboro. You’ll love our place because of the beautiful land, gardens, pottery studio, and gallery. Our place is good for couples, soloists, families with kids, and furry friends (dogs must be on a leash when on the property).
The space is attached to our 270 year-old farm house but it has its own entrance. It consists of an entrance hallway, a sitting area, bathroom with stand-up shower and kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and an electric kettle for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate. It has a small staircase leading up to a large sleeping loft with the capacity to sleep up to 5. Fresh linens and towels provided. Air conditioning is available if you like. Children and friendly dogs on leashes are more than welcome!
Our place is at the end of a 1/2-mile long dirt road with 6 houses on it. We are located on a stunning plateau above the West River...a 10-minute walk and you're close to several fabulous swimming holes. You can also hike or bike the 8-mile long trail that runs along the river. If you want to can walk to the Marina restaurant and eat dinner with a gorgeous view of the Retreat Meadows and the evening sunset.

  • This place is perfect! My friends and I were looking for an affordable place near Mount Snow so we could enjoy a long weekend snowboarding. This was close enough to the mountain that we could easily drive back and forth, it was in a beautiful secluded area which made it easy for resting after a long day, and the layout is super cool! It was everything we could’ve possibly wanted. Chuck left us some awesome local recommendations and was very responsive to all of our messages and requests. Next time we’re in town we will absolutely be staying at Chuck’s!!!

  • The loft was extremely cute and spacious yet cozy. Heating worked great and Chuck was very responsive. Nestled in the woods, but very close to Brattleboro. Loved this place!

  • This is a lovely spot to enjoy Brattleboro -- a clean, comfortable, commodious space with twin beds, a bathroom downstairs dedicated to your use, a hostess who will accommodate you if she possibly can, and even some kitchen access. Really above and beyond the usual standard, especially for the price.

We're two blocks from Main Street and it's just a few blocks more to the local theater, art and culture, a variety of excellent restaurants, and walking trails. You’ll love my place because we're so close to town, but not on a main through street, so it's quiet here. My place is good for couples, or a group of friends, solo adventurers, traveling professionals, and for a great get-away.
The apt has a fully equipped kitchen, microwave, coffee bean grinder and all, if you want to bring, or to buy your own food. if you need other appliances, just ask. Cable and Apple TV hooked up. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask us. Thank you for your interest!
Town is just a few blocks long. About 2 blocks from here is the best coffee. Mocha Joes roasts their own. There is a Food Co-op 6 blocks away, open to all, that has local, organic and all around great stuff. It is right by the Latchis movie theater. There are quite a few restaurants, in this small area. There's a bagel place in the center of town, also a small cafe called Bakery Arts, which has wonderful fresh breads and good lunches. Dinner restaurants are from the high end, Duo, to a small fish and chips place, all within a few blocks of each other and 4-5 blocks from here. There are locally owned used/consignment/antique furniture stores. There are several clothing stores, including a new and used clothing store that caters to the more hip and youthful minded dressers. Downtown has fine jewelry stores, Vermont Artisans which carries fine art from local artists, crafters, potters, and other art galleries with more eclectic, international artwork, a couple of high end, and ethnic, home furnishings stores. We also boast a couple of vinyl, and other music media stores, bookstores include eclectic, mystery and two used bookstores. There are several quirky boutiques, an ice cream parlor, a yogurt place, I think a few tattoo parlors and other interesting oddities. There are small shopping areas to the north, the south and west of town. Larger shopping centers are about a half hour to an hour from here.
  • Jaki was very quick to respond to our messages and questions. She walked us through the space right when we got in. Great space, very clean and spacious with really nice light throughout the day. It’s a 5min walk to the main street of town, very close to everything. Definitely recommend!

  • This is a gem of an apartment right in the center of Brattleboro! Very clean; spacious and with tons of character. Really great host and a great value.

    Alexander2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful space that is very centrally located. We parked the car and walked downtown from the house the whole time we were there. Would definitely stay again!

    Thomas2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us stayed here for a night to break up the drive to Vermont for skiing. Jaki was very easy to communicate with and was very accommodating. The place was clean and the location was perfect - right by downtown! We would definitely stay here again.

    Caroline2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment provided good value. It was large enough for two couples. It was clean, had good beds and nice kitchen. We liked the proximity to down town Brattleboro. Check in was uncomplicated. Directions for the internet etc. were plain and complete. It was also very quiet, which was surprising being so close to downtown.

    John2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jaki was a prompt communicator, and her space was perfect for a weekend getaway with my partner. She was polite and the house was clean and adorable as well as super close to downtown. Definitely would recommend!

    Ellen2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jaki's place was lovely. We came for my birthday weekend and it was awesome. It was super cold and snowy outside but we couldn't tell - great heat! Communication was simple and smooth as well as the house rules. Both bedrooms were sunny, nice and spacious with one at the top of some slightly steep stairs. My friend who came walked around a lot with no problem - it was super close to the downtown area, hiking, and food options. The large sheet bath towels and huge bathroom were a plus! Pro Tip: bring house slippers/ indoor only shoes since it's recommended (not required) to take off shoes to keep the floor cleaner. We always do, so no issues for us. All three of thought this was one of the best Airbnb places we've stayed.

  • Very clean, simple, and comfortable. Terrific location in five-minute's walk to the center of Brattleboro village. Rustic in a nice New England way, like a well-tended vacation cottage.

Clean, thoughtfully decorated and well-equipped apartment with space outdoors to enjoy the beautiful, natural setting. Apartment has one queen sized bed, plenty of seating, and a kitchenette which includes a toaster oven, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and space to prep / eat meals. The bathroom includes a shower and a bath tub, large closet and plenty of space. Note: the bathroom is located up a small flight of stairs.
The apartment is tucked in a an undeveloped greenway with views of the neighboring mountain.
  • Courtney was great! She was very responsive and very sweet. Coming from NYC, the woods seemed scary, but it was very safe. The place was so clean and warm. Really liked the decor and it was really spacious... more than it looks in pictures. Great stay!

    Gouns2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Courtney's apartment was clean, very easy to find and the amenities were perfect. My husband and I stayed here for the weekend to attend a wedding, and the bed was so comfortable (especially since we spent the week prior tent camping in Vermont)! Even though the apartment is attached to a home, it felt very private, which we loved. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks for providing such a great space, Courtney!

    Kimberly2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location close to Brattleboro and Keene. Courtney was very responsive and provided great hiking suggestions. Super clean and nicely furnished.

  • Clean apartment. Quiet neighborhood. Easy access to Brattleboro VT and Keene NH.

    Andrew2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place. Clean, simple and beautiful, with everything you might need, and an intriguing design. I arrived late, and should have read Courtney's instructions better. It took me a while to figure out the entrance, but Courtney's instructions would have been the key if I had paid read them better. I had a bath in a spotless bathroom, and slept like a log, woke up so refreshed and ready to go.

  • Cute apartment on a pretty property. Very easy check in and great communication leading up to our stay! Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Bright, spacious, super energy efficient. 16'Wx22'L'x19'H. Normal apartment sized kitchen, bathroom, stairs to loft. Residential neighborhood 1/2 mile walk to unique downtown Brattleboro with co-op, restaurants, hiking, rivers. Built new in 2011.
A wonderful large tiny house that we built new in 2011. It's Ideal for those interested in tiny (but not too-tiny) living. 16' by 22' and 19' high (abt. 450 sq ft of floor space) with full stairs to a loft that holds a queen bed with room for a dresser, shelves, and a full widow. Normal bathroom and shower with stacked washer/dryer. Fully-equipped kitchen with regular-sized gas cook stove/oven with hood and vent. Vaulted ceiling in main area creates a sense of spaciousness. House is super-insulated so it holds nighttime cool all day in the summer, and heats very easily with quiet Rinnai heater in winter. Shed outside with chest freezer and space for bikes and gear out of rain and snow. Small yard/garden space, crawl space storage available.
It's unique only in that it's a wonderful family neighborhood. Houses are tucked in tight with mostly quiet families with picket fences, yards and trees. Sometimes there's a bit of car noise on Pine St, but you're set back further then our main house is and it's not bad for us, except the occasional Harley. We love it because we feel safe, we know the neighbors, and we can walk to town and stores, are close to the highway, but also have a yard. Brattleboro is unique and we've got plenty of recommendations in the house manual for what do to, where to go and what to eat.

  • Rosalind's place is great! Super homey, warm, and welcoming. We loved the dogs who welcome you and the great location near Mount Snow and Stratton. Would love to return when the front door's lock is replaced!

  • Rosalind’s place is beautiful! The apartment was perfect, and we especially loved the luxurious king bed :) Rosalind was great. We would definitely come back!

    Britta2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Rosalind’s barn cabin for a little under a week, and my dog Brewster and I had a great stay filled with hiking and snowboarding, the dog only participating in the former. The cabin is private and the welcoming landscape accompanied the living space. Just as welcoming were Rosalind and Robert and their dogs who greeted with tails wagging. We did a few cool walks. The walk through Newfane town and up to the cemetary, through the stone wall, and around the pond was very scenic, and i’m happy i got to see all of it. We also did a hike in Townshend State Park, along the snowy trail which ran beside the creek. A sight to behold. Just above the state park there is a Jamaican food truck in the parking lot of a glass art gallery. I had some delightful jerk 🐔 there. Stratton is a great mountain resort for 🎿/🏂 and has a superb village and some of Vermont's nicest runs, at least in my somewhat limited experience. Can’t go wrong with this cabin 👌🏻

    Christopher2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, comfortable place to stay. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking, large comfortable bed and bedroom. Very much appreciate being able to bring my dog! Rosalind and her friendly dogs gave us a warm welcome when we arrived.

  • Close proximity to the ski resorts we were interested in and perfect for a long weekend get away! Rosalind is a great host and the space provided all the amenities we needed after a long day on the slopes.

  • Had a lovely relaxing stay in Rosalind's refurbished barn! Would book again.

Private entry, up wide covered stairs to open and enclosed porches, into spacious eat-in kitchen which separates the BR with fuul-size bed, walk-in closet and sitting area, from the LR with pull out couch. A few blocks to downtown restaurants, food coop, and shops, walking distance to trails.
2nd floor apt in 4 family house with complete privacy, friendly tenants and hosts. Fully equipped kitchen, even a coffee grinder! Breakfast or hang out on either the open or enclosed porch alone, or join your neighbors on the garden terrace. The sunny 3/4 bath has a blow dryer.
Our large, sunny apartment is in a pretty perfect spot. We are a three block walk to town with an Art Deco movie theater, art school, museum, library, bookstores, small shops, antique stores, food coop and a wide variety of eateries, from breakfast and lunch only cafes to fine dining. Just a walk over the bridge from downtown, across the Connecticut River, to a trail up Mt. Wantastiquet for a spectacular view all around and back onto downtown. Walk away from downtown and it's just ten blocks to one entrance of the Retreat Trails, or a half mile or so to either another section of the Retreat Trails, or the West River Trail which goes all the way to the covered Dummerston Bridge, or the biking lane on the other side of the West River, along Rte 30. From May through Thanksgiving, you can bike or drive five minutes to the farmstands and international food stalls at the Farmers Market on Rte 9, and just a little longer in any direction to the many local farmstands offering their fresh veggies and fruit! In the winter, the Farmers Market moves indoors at the River Garden in the middle of downtown. We are also within a five minute walk or drive from SIT and the School for World Training, Marlboro College downtown campus, the New England Center for the Circus Arts, Brattleboro campus of CCV - Community College of Vermont, and the Union Institute and University.
  • Jaki's place was very nice, centrally located, and was a great place to stay for a weekend. I would definitely return

    Owen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jake was very prompt in her responses. Her place was really only a few blocks from Main Street, with roomy parking and an adorable space. She was thoughtful enough to set up the futon bed for us without our even asking. The view from the enclosed porch is great too.

    A2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I frequently stay at Jaki’s place. Clean, comfy with a full kitchen... it truly has all you need. It is ideally situated about a five minute walk to town. We stay there so often that it’s beginning to feel like our second home. It’s not, however, so you can stay there too! Highly recommend!

    Susanne2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jaki's was just what we'd hoped for - a great apartment within walking distance of the shops of Brattleboro. She went out of her way to make sure the space was cozy and warm before we got there. And cozy doesn't mean small, we had lots of room to sprawl out and relax. Parking was a breeze, the little amenities were there, and she greeted us before we went out our first night. We would stay again, maybe next time in the spring or summer to take advantage of the porch(es!)

    David2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is spacious and conveniently located to access Main Street in town. Clean & quaint. Jaki is very thorough with directions for how to get there and how things work.

    Catherine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jaki was an amazing host. She was super responsive about any questions we had and helped give tips about the local restaurants and downtown area. She kept the place very clean and her instructions for check in and check out were very clear and easy. I would without a doubt stay at Jaki’s place again.

    Malcolm2020-02-15T00:00:00Z

  • Brattleboro is such an adorable little town. Jaki’s place is in a perfect location to see Brattleboro by foot. I would like to have seen more, but ended up sick most of the time and had meetings the rest. Her place was very clean, orderly, and private.

Cozy, airy 10x13 room in home of 60-something artist couple in safe, friendly, convenient neighborhood in Brattleboro. Comfortable double bed futon with a foam topper. Shared bathroom, kitchen, dining and living rooms. Less than a mile to downtown but also bordering woods trails. Room is on the front of the house so it gets light and minor street noise. Second floor, facing west, 3 windows. Room also has an upholstered chair, shelving, and closet space.
The house is a duplex, and we're on the left side. Our home is small, beautiful, with a relaxed tidiness, and lots of local fine craft and art. The Airbnb room is our guest room and library. It's on the second floor of the house. The bed is double-sized; the mattress is a futon with a memory foam topper, which makes it very comfortable. No pets live here, but we occasionally have dog visitors.
This is a wonderful residential neighborhood between downtown Brattleboro and Interstate 91 at exit 2. It is convenient, safe, pretty, and friendly. There are woods and trails right behind the house. There are beautiful gardens to see, and some truly unique lawn decor, by which I do NOT mean rusting cars. You've got the Lawn Sheep (note: not real sheep), the chicken sculpture, actual live chickens, giant ceramic vessels, lush gardens, and holiday light extravaganzas, all family friendly and enjoyable.
  • Teta and Steve are excellent hosts and provided a wonderful stay for me in Brattleboro. They are kind and helpful, and their house is cozy and an easy walk away from town. I would definitely recommend staying with them!

  • Teta is a warm host, responsive to communication, gave lovely and personalized recommendations, and made my time in Brattleboro very special. It’s less than a mile walk into the town of Brattleboro, which makes this a very convenient location for exploring the town on foot.

    Sharon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Teta and Steve are wonderful, kind & helpful humans. I felt if I needed anything or had any questions they were there to answer them. I especially enjoyed the hot water on demand and the foam roller in the living room! I'd 100% recommend staying in this beautiful and artsy home.

    Marina2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • I got there sleepy and thought I'd lay down and maybe take a quick nap and then go out in town. The room was comfy enough that I never got back out. Would definitely stay again. Thankfully I hit the excellent Hermit Thrush brewery before stopping in and passing out, and you should too if you like sour beer. Cheers!

"The womb" is a quiet retreat with radiant-heat floor, memory-foam-covered futon & private bathroom. When available, add a 2-hr mind-body-spirit healing session to your stay. Outside your door, hike trails to the Retreat tower & ski jump; across the road, swim, kayak/canoe or ice skate on the West River. Walk to downtown Brattleboro, a very hip place to visit ;) or drive to Mt Snow to ski (~40 min) or MASS MoCa to experience interactive art (~1hr). Enjoy your solo or duo adventure!
"The womb" is equipped with self-help tools and space to create, express and rest. Your private bathroom includes a tile shower and floor-situated heater, and a designated electrical outlet for your hair dryer (please ask!). Your kitchenette includes a mini-fridge & microwave. You're welcome to use (our) full-kitchen upstairs! There's a notebook available in your room, full of helpful information about what's in the room, the house, and the community. If you can't find answers to your questions there, don't hesitate to ask Ami via face-to-face contact, phone, or text :). Please note: the bed is against a wall and full-sized; it may be small and cumbersome to get in and out of for some couples, especially for the person on the wall/window-side who will most likely climb over the other for a midnight bathroom run!
Our immediate neighbors have small children and they are active around the house :). The neighborhood is respectful, and generally friendly and active :). Our driveway is a right-of-way into the Retreat woods, where people walk, run, bicycle, cross-country ski, and walk dogs.
  • My daughter and I enjoyed a ski weekend at Mount Snow, staying in Ami’s room 2. 22 -23.2020. It worked out perfectly. Ami is a warm and charming host. I highly recommend Ami’s pad.

  • Ami is a very welcoming and generous host! We enjoyed our time in her beautiful, peaceful space and appreciated her kindness, thoughtful touches and local recommendations.

    Kathryn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • "The womb" is a lovely room with a private entrance. Appropriately named, the womb feels safe and calm with lighting that can be adjusted, a salt lamp, and rose quartz crystals to foster love and acceptance. The bed was comfortable for one but would be cozy for two. The private bath was well stocked and clean. Ami is an exceptional host. She greeted me upon arrival and checked in often to make sure everything was perfect. I would love to come back and stay in this place when I next travel to Brattleboro.

  • Ami Ji’s place was perfect! One of the best AirBnb’s I’ve stayed at. Really thoughtful touches. Great communication. Her place really had everything for comfort. The trials right out the back were amazing. So ideal to walk out into the woods from the door.

  • Just heavenly! Such a peaceful, cozy space in a fantastic location. Brianna had great tips for local restaurants and farmstands and everything in the house is lovely and comfortable.

    Julia2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brianna's retreat is just wonderful. So serene and peaceful. The apartment is very cozy and comfy. All the comforts and just a terrific peaceful vibe. Great location. Close to everything in the area, but you feel wonderfully secluded with peace and quiet. Everything we could hope for and more!

    Tom2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The old converted barn was beautiful. It is located in peaceful woods right next to hiking trails but still close enough to towns for dining and shopping. It had a great old feel while still feeling perfectly clean.

    Dylan2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a quiet retreat. Everything works- everything you need is there and it is quiet and peaceful. No need for ear-plugs. Pleasant space that is cozy and comfortable. I was there mostly to rest and recover - the quiet and the great walks just outside the front door made this stay ideal. Brianna was helpful and welcoming.

    Suzanne2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly as described. Incredibly clean and super cozy with some thoughtful touches from the host. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend of skiing and the apartment was truly a snag. Brianna recommended a number of restaurants to us, was very welcoming, and quick with responses to any questions. Highly recommend this spot, I really can’t say enough good things about it!

    Meghan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brianna has a wonderful place in a peaceful setting. The room is spacious and clean and plenty of extras (blankets, towels, chocolates❤️). I appreciated the thoughtful touch with the homemade granola- delicious. Great Value!

    Adrienne2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Briannas place was just what we needed to get away from the city. It was hard looking for something affordable without compromising comfort and style but we found it at Briannas fabulous barn! The space was clean and well equipped for a family of four and Brianna was super fast at responding to all our inquiries. The location was also close to all we wanted to do and she provided nice little touches like yogurt, granola, chocolate and coffee which we all gobbled up! We really enjoyed our stay and we hope to be back soon!

This is a second floor apartment in a 100 year old home 1.5 miles from downtown Brattleboro. 3 rooms, plus a small kitchen and private bathroom. Hosts live on the first floor, but you will have a separate entrance. Easy parking for one car. Large backyard.
It's a charming, 100+ year old house. The walls are lined with art, many of which are original children's book illustrations. There are three rooms, which can be used as 2 bedrooms plus a living room, or as 3 bedrooms, or as a bedroom, a study and a living room, how ever best suits your needs. There is a small kitchen with a small table for two . There is a dining room table in one of the other rooms. There is a new queen sized mattress in the main bedroom. The other two rooms each have single beds that double as sofas.
We are walking distance from Living Memorial Park and The Brattleboro Farmers' Market (Saturdays during the warm months). Close to hiking, biking, snow shoe, and cross country ski trails. We have 2 kayaks moored on the West River, 2.5 miles away, that you are welcome to use. We are 1.5 miles from Downtown Brattleboro, 45 minutes from Mount Snow, 55 minutes from Stratton, 25 minutes from Keene, NH. We live on a busy thoroughfare, so when it snows we are among the first streets plowed, but the downside is that you can hear cars going by.
  • John and Kathie's home was the perfect respite during a busy family Thanksgiving weekend in Brattleboro. They were responsive and kind, and the place was so cute, clean, and comfortable. There are several great sleeping spots--my partner and I only used the main bedroom for sleeping, but the bed there was so comfortable and the dark curtains allowed us to sleep in. We used the kitchen to make some simple meals while we were there as well. While the house is on a pretty busy street, John and Kathie left us a very easy parking spot right in front of the house, which was very convenient. There are many charming touches in the house, lovely art, and we felt so cozy there. The house is well-located and it's very easy to get to downtown Brattleboro. One thing to note is that while there's plenty of space in the general bathroom area, it is quite narrow in the nook where the toilet is located and might be difficult to access for bigger people. We'd love to come back and stay again! Thanks, John and Kathie!

    Alison2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was perfect for our stay in Brattleboro. There was plenty of space with multiple rooms...nice to be able to spread out. The space has a nice older look though was perfectly functional and well-equipped. John and Kathie were great hosts and were very responsive to questions and providing with information. I would certainly consider staying here again if/when I return to Brattleboro.

    Chris2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, exactly as described. Has everything you need. Clean, cosy and child friendly. John and Kathie really are super hosts.

    Tom2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • John and Kathie were incredibly thoughtful hosts, with sweet touches such as fresh flowers, coffee pods, extra blankets and towels, etc. The apartment was exactly as advertised, which is a great deal, and the location was perfect. A very cosy, homey place for our week stay.

    Fay2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • John and Kathie were great hosts. Their place is in a great location, about 4 minutes from downtown Brattleboro. Cozy, charming and sparkling clean, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for a weekend away. Highly recommend!

    Jamie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our weekend at John and Kathie's place! Charming apartment with a lot of nice touches; we especially appreciated the shampoo since we forgot ours. Kathie greeted us warmly and recommended a Puppet Festival nearby which was a great family day with our one year old. We didn't have a chance to meet John but we loved looking his beautiful illustrations hanging on the walls and our daughter really enjoyed the bedtime stories left by the hosts. We will definitely be back if we return to Brattleboro!

    Amanda2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great location from which to explore Brattleboro! A mere .3 mile walk to the awesome Farmer’s Market and just a little further to the Vermont Country Deli. The space was large, comfy and clean and equipped with all you would need for a short or longer term stay. Being from Texas, I enjoyed sitting on the covered front porch every morning wrapped in a blanket! I had a nice visit with Kathie when I arrived and she was able to give me plenty of tips on what to do in the area. I absolutely loved this part of Vermont and will definitely stay again in the future.

  • Lisa and Steve were great hosts, clean space, friendly dogs, and amazing banana bread. Good local recommendations for food and hikes as well!

    Allison2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Close to the ski mountains. Private upstairs area. The dogs are super cuddly and fun!

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We’d agree with others comments. Everything was pretty much what we expected from what we read. There were two upstairs bedrooms and a private bath along with a sitting area etc. We’d recommend it for that SE corner of VT.

    Deane2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Steve's home was exactly what we needed. Clean, warm, cozy and welcoming. Their dogs Finn and Penny took good care of us as well. Homemade banana bread and a delicious selection of homemade jams were a highlight for breakfast. It was so easy to be there. We would love to come back. We would encourage first timers to know their directions ahead of time because the cell service can be intermittent making GPS unreliable. In winter there may be roads that are not plowed or used until the snow is gone. GPS didn't tell us that. We learned the hard way. Make sure to read in the details section what to be looking for as you get closer to their home.. It is all there clearly explained. We highly recommend a stay at Lisa and Dave's. They are excellent hosts! Donna and Matt

    Donna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an authentic Vermont experience, this is it. They are such wonderful hosts and have made one of the nicest spaces I have ever stayed in. I had two crazy toddlers with me and they were so supportive and accommodating. The area is absolutely gorgeous, between the river view in one bedroom and the farm/mountain view in the other this place is perfect for any season. It is also 30 minutes from almost everything in southern Vermont, it’s a perfect home base!

    Steven2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay at for a weekend skiing at mount snow. Wonderful breakfast and loved the friendly dogs!

    Kelly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very clean and spacious. Lisa and Steve are very helpful and kind hosts. I recommend staying w them to anyone interested.

    Kevin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Steve are extremely warm hospitable people. They had breakfast on the table waiting for us every morning. They also took into account me being vegan. The house was adorable! We had the entire upstairs to ourselves. The beds were SO comfortable and the shower head in the bathroom detaches so it can be handheld which is really nice.. They have two dogs, Finn and Penny. Both the two sweetest things. Finn is a cuddler and followed us upstairs most of the time to hang out. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend staying with Lisa and Steve!!!!

Walk out your door to great views of Putney mountain, beautiful sunrise and mist floating down the valley. The studio apartment has a large yard, duck pond, fire pit, and hot tub. Everything you need to cook, and relax is here for you. Roam eleven acres, visit our animals or just relax. The farm is close to a great swimming hole (5 min drive) 25 min to Stratton Mt, 40 min to Mt Snow, 15 min to Grafton Ponds Cross Country Skiing and Townshend State Park.
The basement studio is new and we think a great addition to our farm. We wanted to offer a year round rental so more people could have an affordable place to stay for the ski season as well as the summer and fall months.
  • I had such a great stay at misty mountain farm. Sharon made check in so easy and provided tons of information about the farm, animals, and local hiking. From watching the sunrise over the mountain in the morning, to stargazing in the hot tub at night, this place was a perfect weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Cozy farm in the mountains of southern VT. Lots of friendly animals to visit and a beautiful property! The studio has pretty much everything you need for your stay. Great location near lots of great sights and hiking/skiing/... areas! Or just a nice place to hang out and relax. Thanks!

    Kevin2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a quiet peace of heaven. It is conveniently located near everything we wanted to do. You will not regret staying here. Barbara and Richard

    Barbara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the studio, 3 of us. We had room to do everything, and enjoyed the property very much! Hot tub was fantastic! Animals were fun and friendly. Host is quick to reply to any messages. The farm is on a mountain, make sure you have the right vehicle if it’s winter. ( we didn’t.... lol.... we did ok, but would have been better in 4 wheel drive) If you are light sleeper, bring earplugs. Studio is in basement and you can hear sounds from upstairs. It’s worth the bit of noise..... trust me, the farm, property, and entire package is worth some slight noise.

  • The place was wonderful! It was definitely an experience I will remember! If your looking for a good country experience this is the place! Very tiny but so cute! But the people and animals are so great!

  • The trip was a fun relaxing time for my kids (6&*) and I. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the kids got to play with and feed many of the animals. Just lovely.

    Amy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful weekend away!! Yes, the house is quite “tiny” and there were some details to learn about a “composting toilet” for this city girl, but the space is very well-organized and every inch is used smartly. The very best parts, however, are truly the beautiful scenery (the lush greenery, the rolling mountains, and a breathtaking sunset to look at while soaking in the hot tub), the property (with all sorts of animals ready to be petted/ played with), the hospitality from our lovely and gregarious hosts, the fire pit, dining al fresco, the fabulous hiking, kayaking, and fruit-picking all within a reasonable driving distance added up to just the most perfect weekend getaway for two city dwellers!

    Carina2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and Alan are so incredibly kind and friendly; they take amazing care of their animals and treat all of their guests so well. We had a ball seeing their animals, and their farm store food is delicious. We hope to make it up again soon!

  • Perfect, relaxing getaway. Please read the description! This is a farm and a VERY tiny clean house. Any negative reviews here are reflective of not reading the description. You get exactly what they say you get! This was perfect for what we wanted and we had one of the most enjoyable times! Such a chill, relaxing and comfortable environment. Sharon and Robin were super down to earth, easy and enjoyable to talk to. There isn’t anything negative I could possibly say. Definitely plan to return!

  • Cheryl's place is well furnished, comfortable, clean, and tucked away in the woods. It had all the amenities we needed for a 24 hour getaway from COVID-19 and anything else that would distress us. I'd love to come back in the summer and explore the paths in the woods.

  • My fiancé and I stayed for a quiet New Years in and it was perfect! Cozy and clean, close to town while still feeling worlds away. Cheryl was extremely kind and even gifted us homemade granola! The only thing I regret is not coming in the warm weather to be able to see all the gardens in bloom!

    Isabella2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here on a recent road trip with my guy. It was even nicer than the pictures. The gas fireplace worked great and the views of the snowy woods were beautiful in the morning. The mattress felt similar to a casper, which is what I have at home (I like it a lot). If I ever come back to Brattleboro I will try to stay here again.

  • Excellent place to stay, can't recommend enough! The lovely bus is pretty much exactly like described and in the pictures. Hot water in the outdoor shower was nice. We biked there from Brattleboro, which was no problem. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Bus gets a bit cold at night in October, but not a very big issue! Definitely got in touch with nature!

  • Best place I've stayed in quite some time! I brought my grandkids for a Birthday surprise . They absolutely loved it ! We hiked, had a bonfire, played frisbee and told ghost stories . The bus was perfect and our hosts were awesome! Finished off with a great breakfast in the morning! Five Stars ⭐️

  • I couldn’t have anticipated a better stay. The space was amazing as was the hospitality. Breakfast was delicious both days that I was there. If you’re looking to unplug this is the place to do it. Alyssa was extremely responsive and helpful. Adding on a fire was the perfect touch. The outdoor shower and out house were both clean and added to the overall experience. I can’t wait to go back and leave all of the responsibilities of life behind to enjoy this beautiful, peaceful, and amazing homestead.

    Kristi2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Alyssa’s space is so cozy and wonderful! My boyfriend and I had an awesome stay. She made us breakfast and coffee in the morning which was so sweet!! Thanks so much for a fab time!

  • I bought a one night stay in the bus as a gift for my sister and her boyfriend. They said it was fantastic and they loved it!! Alyssa was a great host and was flexible as well as communicative. I highly recommend!

This Barn has been transformed into a simple yet comfortable living space. The upstairs is all yours! The Barn is located in the middle of a plant nursery specializing in Daylilies. Additionally there are 1000's of perennials and herbs. Great for birders and wildlife lovers and plant enthusiasts. As the gardens meld into more wilder areas with walks through woods and fields. From May on there are always flowers in bloom. We are also only 20 minutes to Mount Snow.
This is a flower nursery from May-September. Part of the charm of the farm is the activity surrounding the plant nursery. There is always lots happening during the growing season. Guests are welcome to observe or even become involved in the process if they are so inclined.
This is a rural area. Wildlife and plants abound. If you're a birder this is a great spot. Want to experience a plant nursery first hand this is the place. During the Fall and Winter this is a great spot to start to explore from. The surrounding mountains are spectacular during leaf peeping season. In the winter we are about 20 minutes from Mount Snow and other ski resorts are close as well.
  • The place was very cozy and nice and clean when we arrived! Chris was very hospitable and took the time to even help plan out a local brewery crawl for us when we returned from Mount Snow for the day!

    Emma2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time in Vermont and I really enjoyed it! Chris' home was clean and comfy. Love that it was a cabin or had a cabin feel and windows everywhere! And two sweet dogs to welcome you! The rooms had thermostats to control the temperature especially for cold nights. Chris was there to welcome us and say goodbye but left us to do our own thing and be free in the space. He had also provided clean towels and a list of a variety of places to eat, which was helpful. His place is also not too far from Mt. Snow, which has a bunch of winter activities. I thoroughly enjoyed snowboarding there. It is also not too far from a couple of places to eat. We tried out Amy's Bakery Art Cafe, which has delicious sandwiches. For dinner we had Fat Crow, which is about a 10 min drive from Chris' house..it was good. For delicious baked goods in the morning we tried sticky fingers (heavenly smell and just as delicious pastries)..great location to grab a bite on your way to Mt. Snow.

  • Fantastic! Would recommend for anyone who appreciates nature and is looking for a unique, interesting, and comfortable place to stay.

    Roger2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place was great and was an excellent value for our ski trip to Mount Snow. It was less than 25 minutes to the mountain. It offered plenty of space for our family of 4- it’s really a big space. We loved the main bedroom with super comfy bed and the awesome views. Chris greeted us when we arrived, showed us the space, and provided us with local suggestions. He communicated with us throughout and is an outstanding host. - Highly recommend!

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful clean place. Quite a different experience than staying in a hotel.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and great host.

    Karl2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place is clean, charming and spacious. The barn is on a beautiful piece of property on a lovely, quiet Vermont road. After skiing at Mt Snow, maybe 20 min down the road, it was a lovely place to come home too. Chris is very helpful and attentive and a very nice person. He has a great book collection ! A great place to spend a few days in Vermont. I cant wait to return in the summer when the farm is in bloom.

The top floor of our private Guest House is the perfect retreat from city life. Comfortably fits four and is ideally located near river swimming, hiking and two major Southern Vermont ski resorts, Mt. Snow and Stratton. We recently upgraded our cable Internet connection to 30 meg service- fast!
Amazing Planet! Farm, LLC, Guest House is a private living space in separate building overlooking working organic farm. One bedroom (queen bed) , living room (with two twin beds), dining area, kitchenette and one bathroom make this spot perfect for four guests. We now have AC in the bedroom. 2 night minimum required.
Views from the farm grounds are lovely, especially during leaf-peeping season, without another building in sight. Some of the best Southern Vermont river swimming is a short walk from the property and also accessible by car. Blueberry picking, historic Newfane and its beloved General Store and four-star dining at the Four Columns, horse stables and hiking all within a 10-min drive. Cool, revitalized downtown of Brattleboro with plenty of good restaurants is just a 15 min drive. Great access to skiing with Mt. Snow just 25 mins. away and 40 mins.
  • Jonathan & Samantha were very accommodating hosts. The space is exactly what you see & worth every penny dollar for dollar. I recommend & would stay again!

  • We had a great stay at Samantha and Jonathan's. We stayed for the weekend and skied Stratton. On Saturday morning when we woke up, we saw a fox walking through the field outside.

  • Jonathan is such a friendly and responsive host.

    Candy2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts are quick to answer any questions. The top floor guest house was clean and in a great location to Brattleboro, Chesterfield and Keene. Traveled with 2 adult daughters, usually have gotten 2 room at a motel; but the guest house was less expensive and it was wonderful to be all together in the same place. Will stay there again when visiting the area.

    Virginia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location, peaceful, able to take walks around the farm, close to Brattleboro restaurants, and to hikes.

    Sibylle2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha and Jonathan's have an amazing farmhouse property which is very close to the River and the cutest town of Brattleboro! There is so much to explore and not to forget the amazing Game Room they have for kids and adults! The location is very peaceful and is perfect for a getaway from the city life! I would definitely consider this property again!

    Shantanu2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This farm is amazing! If you have active kiddos this is a dream come true. Air bnb gold. There are so many fun things for the kids to do (rope swings, climbing net, foosball, bikes, scooters, etc.) we hardly needed to leave the farm!! Plus beautiful fresh produce!! The area is amazing too with great rivers/waterfalls/creeks everywhere. The hosts are kind and welcoming and really made us feel like the farm was ours for the two days we were there. Tons of local info regarding hikes and swimming is also provided if you can convince yourself to leave the excitement of the farm!

A cozy spot perfect for quick romantic getaways and an equally comfortable base for longer adventures. Views out your windows show perennial flower gardens and trees. Queen mattress in a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom (shower), and a living/dining area with an equipped kitchen are all at your service. Enjoy our yard and trails along the river. We are an easy 5 minute drive to 3 fantastic destination-worthy restaurants (all of which do take out) and many more within 15 minutes of driving.
Your apartment is on the ground level of our family home. There is a private entrance with a mud room, which enters into the living/dining area. Rhododendron trees are planted in front of the windows in the living room, lending extra privacy. The couch is comfortable sleeping for 1 adult or up to 2 smaller children. Please note that the ceiling height is on the lower side, at 78 inches in the shower, 79 in the bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom are through a door, which closes but does not lock. Two of the three windows in the bedroom look out under our deck, where we neatly and creatively stack wood (holzhausen). Black-out blinds are in each of the windows in the bedroom. We can add a toddler mattress to the floor in the bedroom you like, just let us know. Pack & play is in the closet, along with changing table supplies. Friends who stay with us always end up sleeping in because it is so quiet and cozy. That said, we do have a 4 year old, and one cat, who may from time to time make their presence known. Per law, we are required to list the Vermont Meals and Rooms Tax ID number on our listing: MRT-10126712
Newfane has a gorgeous, historic green (you've probably seen a picture of it in a calendar). Also in Newfane there is the Four Columns Inn, great for a memorable/romantic meal (they also do massages!), a humble yoga studio, and a handy general store. There is a great playground at the elementary school, only a 5 minute walk from our house (available to use after school hours/on the weekends). And about a mile down the road (also accessible via walking through the trails in the woods) is the ever-popular swimming hole in the Rock River, Indian Love Call. In Williamsville, a 5 minute drive, the incredible Williamsville Eatery serves dinner Thursdays-Sundays. A must; reservations recommended. In downtown Brattleboro, an easy 15 minute drive along the West River on Route 30, there is a lot more going on: live music at The Stone Church, great restaurants (our favorites include Whetstone Station and Duo), plenty of cute and practical shops, more yoga studios than you'll be able to visit, and great places to grab a cup of coffee (Mocha Joes) or golden mylk/fresh pressed juice (Superfresh Organic Cafe). Plus beer. Many craft breweries in town, and all the restaurants have excellent regional selections on tap. Or, stop by the Co*op and pick up your own sample pack to enjoy at your leisure. Also check out the Brattleboro Farmers Market for great local produce & products (a perfect spot for lunch, too) and the Retreat Farm (food trucks & live music on Thursdays in the summer, cute baby animals and walking trails for the whole family year round). Pick Your Own Fruits/Berries/Veggies: - Dutton's (Newfane) - Scott Farm Orchards (Dummerston) - Dwight Miller (Dummerston) - Lilac Ridge (Brattleboro) - Whetstone Ledges Farms (Marlboro) - Green Mountain Orchards (Putney) Nearby Places to Explore: - Jamaica & Jamaica State Park (20 minutes) - Putney Village & Putney Mountain (15-20 minutes) - Grafton Trails & Outdoor Center and/or Nature Museum (25 minutes) - Madame Sherri Forest (25 minutes) - Wilmington Village (30 minutes) - Weston Village and the Vermont Country Store (35 minutes) - Manchester Village (50 minutes) - Montshire Museum of Science & King Arthur Flour (70 minutes) Skiing: - 30 minutes to Mount Snow - 40 minutes to Stratton - 35 minutes to Magic Mountain - 45 minutes to Bromley - 60 Minutes to Okemo or Berkshire East
  • Very friendly, clean, and the apartment is really cozy. Water in the shower gets super hot unlike a lot of other places I’ve stayed at. Met Keith on our check-out and he seemed really chill with a good Vermont vibe. Quick and easy drive to Mr. Snow. 12/10 would recommend.

    Jacob2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Keith & Luella's place was a perfect spot to relax before and after a long day of skiing. Full amenities and even had a fire stick to go along w/ their huge TV. Definitely check this place out!

    Steve2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, comfortable and quaint! Very clean and homey. We really appreciated the little welcoming touches (chocolates, nature bars and essential condiments). Will definately stay again. You'll be very cozy and dont forget to sign the guestbook!

    Lisa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The best place to stay in Vermont; From the first moment Luella and Keith were very hospitable and when you arrive at the apartment you feel at home! The place very clean and well heated, the bed very comfortable and lots of kitchen utensils in case you want to cook. I loved!

    Luna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment will exceed your expectations! It is clean, warm, cute, and very well-situated (driving distance to plenty of ski resorts). We were able to cook a full meal and watch a movie (they have a large TV in the living room and a fully functional kitchen). We never met Luella or Keith, but they gave us great tips on the local area and which mountains were having good conditions. They are responsive, and if we'd had an issue I have no doubt they would have helped us figure it out. I would definitely stay here again. Can't recommend it enough.

Couldn’t connect to the WiFi, so if you HAVE to be connected, maybe this isn’t the place for you. But Norma stayed in touch while trying to resolve it, so her communication was great. Instead of being online, enjoy the wonderful view out the front bay window! Would definitely return. Thanks, Norma!

  • Five enthusiastic stars for this incredible listing!! This country home very much deserves to be called "peaceful": it is quiet, warm, spotless, packed with thoughtful touches, and surrounded by serene Vermont views of snowy pine trees. We spent a very restful weekend here away from the city, enjoying the beautifully appointed kitchen, tasteful bedrooms, plush, woodpanelled living room, and the wild birds enjoying the berry bushes just outside the windows. Susan is very responsive and everything has been thought of and provided for you, including complimentary maple syrup she and her husband made. I unreservedly RECOMMEND!

    M2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Susan’s home. Location was great, far enough out to enjoy the peace and quiet, but close enough to Brattleboro for shopping and dining. Make sure you drive to the end of the road where you will find a beautiful hidden paradise, with a covered bridge, waterfall and gorgeous houses and views. The house was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and fortunately for us since we accidentally booked a trip during Super Bowl Sunday, there was cable tv, wifi and good phone service. We definitely look forward to returning in the summer or fall, the snow was beautiful, but I look forward to seeing all the foliage! Thank you!

    Lisa2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was so clean! We had two couples and two kids and had more than enough room!

    Karen2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful surroundings and great location. Plenty of privacy. Awesome little house in the mountains with that old time feeling of comfort. Wonderful place bring in the new year! Made for a nice romantic stay to start a new chapter in our lives as we were engaged on the morning of the first in this lovely home. Bed was comfy, cupboards stocked with just about anything you could possibly need. We drove down just after a winter storm. The driveway was clear. David salted the driveway the next morning and brought eggs as we wanted to make pancakes and taste the yummy complimentary maple syrup but didnt bring any eggs. The syrup is made by the David and Susan on the property. Great place to stay. We will definitely visit again!

    Lita2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Susan and Dave's place. It is very quiet and comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen has just about anything you could need in terms of cookware/utensils, and the beds are cozy. There was a snow storm while we were there (not a lot of snow, but a few inches - enough for us to be worried we wouldn't make it out of the driveway with our little Mazda3), but Dave came by with his plow and cleared the driveway, saving us from a lot of stress (thanks Dave!). The house is on a small hill in a beautiful area, very private, and close enough to Brattleboro for shopping / restaurants if needed. We cooked dinner most nights in the house (breakfasts too), which was great. I highly recommend this listing. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

    Jeff2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! We spent Christmas there, very quiet and cozy. Perfect retreat from the city.

    Jesse2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing experience. My wife and I have never used an Airbnb before, so our first experience could not have gone more smoothly. Things were so easy and clean and Susan was so helpful in conversation to make us feel comfortable and making the rules clear. We would make use of the space again if we wind up looking for another nearby getaway!

    Rex2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place is a super cozy, clean place to stay that's out of the way, but not too far from Brattleboro. The beds and furniture are super comfy and the place is well outfitted with thoughtful touches. I'm not big on the "live, laugh love" type of mantras- but if that is your style, this place is full of that kind of kitch. Even if it isn't, I'd still highly recommend this cozy sweet home- I'd definitely stay there again.

  • Very clean, comfortable, cozy place. The dog, Loki, was an added bonus!

    Alexis2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, quiet setting for rustic simplicity. Cindy is a generous and considerate host and Loki, the dog, an exceptional co-host! Proximity to local trails is an undeniable plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Karen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved staying with Cindy and Loki! I was a little nervous traveling with two dogs and one of mine being a bit temperamental but it went absolutely wonderful. She was so nice and offered for me to use anything in the house that I needed. Was always invited to eat meals with her when I was home and overall had a wonderful experience. My work schedule changed so I needed to change my dates and she worked with me and allowed me to shorten my stay significantly. I felt so welcome here and would love to come back and visit inthe summer if I’m in the area.

  • Rustic, eclectic, and magical. Beautiful home. Cindy was a gracious host that was always available if needed and provided a warm welcoming atmosphere. We spent a little time with the chickens and goats-the goats let me pet them which was awesome. The space was exactly what we were looking for, a cozy place to hang after a long day on the mountain.

It was wonderful that she had an array of lowkey breakfast items on hand, as it made it more straightforward to get out the door early for skiing. Being fifteen minutes from Mt. Snow made the location excellent for waking up close to the mountain. As a clean room to stay in, with the availability of a kitchenette in a downstairs hallway, it was a good location and price. There was a common area on the third floor that was spacious, however, it could only be accessed by climbing up a ladder (that was safely and securely attached). While my 6 year-old and I enjoyed our brief time up in the common area, it may not be accessible for everyone.

    Lindsay2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Joan is fantastic host. Meet us and showed us around and even suggested a place for dinner which was just awesome. Thanks!

    Pavel2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Joan’s place was a great place to crash before a day at Mount Snow. Just 15 minutes from the mountain, and the bedroom was very cozy!

This handsome 1803 farm house is the perfect balance between beautifully fixed up and well lived in. Welcoming, authentic, and whimsical, it is a visit into a simpler time. Set in a field overlooking orchards and berry patches, with mountain views beyond, it is the ideal spot for retreats of any kind, a home base for exploration of southern Vermont, and the opportunity to stay in a family oriented neighborhood of farmers, woodworkers, writers, and artists.
This house and land is the homestead of the late Margaret and John MacArthur. A world renowned folk musician and a brilliant science professor, respectively, they devoted their lives to creating a home to raise their children in, and a perfect place to pursue their passions. Instruments, resource books, creativite decor, gardens... these are all integral to the space. The queen bed room is on the main floor, adjacent to the small, charming bathroom, tiled in Mexican tiles. The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs, (it is cooler upstairs so we keep down comforters on each bed), and share a lovely bath tiled in mexican tiles, with a pink heart shaped bathtub. There is a sit-down, hand held shower for the tub. The kitchen has a stunning view out to Stratton Mountain from the table. In addition to the regular appliances in the kitchen there is a coffee maker, with coffee and tea provided. There is no microwave. The well water is filtered and fabulous for drinking and cooking. The house is full of family treasures and heirlooms and we trust they will be respected and well treated. Although it is well insulated and heated, it is worth having a supply of warm clothes in the colder months- and plan on using fans for sleeping in hot weather, for the house is, after all, well over 200 years old!
Great walking, snowshoeing, and cross county skiing is available from the house and there are lakes nearby for kayaking or canoeing. There is a 3 season farm stand just down the road with organic produce available, as well as PYO organic berries. There are several dogs in the neighborhood- all well behaved and kind. The house is on a well maintained dirt road, with the occasional passersby. We do recommend AWD for winter travel.
  • Lovely old house, well maintained and lots of character. Communication was easy and the house had all the necessary amenities. We all enjoyed our stay!

  • Megan is a wonderful host with an incredible historical house. The home is lovely, warm, and the perfect Vermont getaway.

    Rebecca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

Renovated schoolhouse full of charm with a farmhouse feel. Located across the street from the picturesque fairgrounds. Misty morning view includes classic red Vermont barns. Big yard with apple trees and lots of room to play or just relax.
Cozy interior includes a big central living space with wood stove and plenty of seating, galley kitchen, black and white tiled bathroom, small cozy master bedroom, mudroom with room for skis and gear, and a loft sleeping area accessed by a ladder. Outside you'll find a big half acre yard with room to play and relax. Note that the yard is not fenced should you come with little kids or dogs.
Guilford is a sweet town of about 2,000 people located in southern Vermont just a few minutes south of Brattleboro. Like most small New England towns, Guilford boasts a country store, a library, and an elementary school. Brattleboro is the hub for entertainment, restaurants, live music, theatre, etc.
  • This was our second visit to Kelsey’s beautiful home - and we fell in love with it all over again. Her home is inviting and cozy, and Kelsey made sure the place was toasty for our arrival by having the wood stove going for us. The decor and art throughout is beautifully unique and well done. Our two young boys refer to this home as “Zeb’s house” and love playing with the toys during our stay - they never miss TV while we are here! We can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you for your hospitality, Kelsey & Zeb!

    Laura2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really cool, very unique dwelling with fun decor. The schoolhouse aspect (toys, chalkboard, art table) was really fun for my daughter, and the galley kitchen made meal making a nice experience. We loved that there wasn't a TV, as we'd rather be focused on each other. The art in the house is beautiful and the host shares info about the artists which was a nice, unexpected touch. The house is a bit loud (squeaky floors) so we had some incidental awakenings when others got up, but all in all was an excellent experience.

    Nikayla2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the coziest little getaway! It was the perfect place to unplug and relax (but stay plugged in a little because the WiFi was excellent).

    Kathryne2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful gem which made for the perfect place to have a lovely Green Mountain getway! Thank you Kelsey for all your personal touches!

    David2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house was adorable and very cozy! My nephews were in heaven with all the toys, the chalkboards, the rocking horse and the super fun loft. We spent Thanksgiving there and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a full spread. The bed was very comfortable. Had a great time!

    Kristin2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful house in a beautiful area with plenty of peace and quiet.

    Joey2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey’s place was so cute! Large living area, gorgeous views of the mountains, huge yard space (which would be even better if there was a fence, as it’s right off a main road), VERY VERY clean, and all around comfortable. This made our stay quite enjoyable! Only 10-15 minutes away from Brattleboro, where there’s a bunch of cute shops. Thanks, Kelsey! :)

    Paula2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey’s place was perfect for a weekend getaway in Southern Vermont! Super easy check in, Kelsey answered right away when we had a question, and she even had a fire going for us when we came in- talk about hospitality! Her place is about 15 mins from Brattleboro, which was great because we spent most of our Saturday exploring the downtown area. The entire house was spotless with plenty of space. The loft upstairs is definitely difficult to get to if you have any mobility issues, as it is very steep with no railing. No worries though because there is also a bedroom downstairs. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook if you’d like with plates, utensils, pans, etc. A big yard with the prettiest set of corn hole, lots is space to lounge around, and even a comfy hammock. I would definitely recommend her place to anyone else looking to stay!

Waterfront setting in a relaxing, but convenient, location in southeastern Vermont. Photos and captions do the best job of describing our cabin, adjacent brook, and very nearby Green River with its covered bridge and swimming holes. The cabin is 20 minutes from Brattleboro with its many restaurants, shops, movie theater, and galleries. Not only is the immediate area wonderful for swimming, biking, and hiking, you can also simply relax with a good book or two.
Our place comes with fire wood, a Weber charcoal grill, and inner tubes for floating in the Green River. Kayaks and canoes can be rented in Brattleboro for use on the Connecticut River.
The immediate neighborhood is quintessential Vermont countryside, with its streams, hills, valleys, and pastures. Nearby Brattleboro provides all necessities plus a wide variety of restaurants, eclectic shops, galleries and the historic Latches Theater. Interstate 91, Rt. 9, Rt. 30, and Rt. 5 provide easy access to many nearby places of interest in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
  • We had an absolutely lovely stay at David's cozy VT cabin. This was perfect for our weekend getaway. Beautiful, quiet location and only a short drive into Brattleboro. The foliage, the scenery, the cozy vibe, it was all incredible. We hope to return in the future!

    Lauren2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A place we return to again and again.

    Lindsey2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful, relaxing, get away. Enjoy getting away from it all at this cabin in the woods with water babbling right outside your door. We spent a lot of time on the porch listening to it. Brattleboro is close by and the coop there is a great place to shop. We hiked, read, relaxed all in a comfortable, off the grid space. The manuals David has for the cabin use and local interest were helpful. The big window over the sink looking out at the water was a great place to be when doing dishes.

    Debra2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at David's cabin so much. The cabin is clean, cute, and full of light, with big windows that let you feel like you're sitting among the trees that surround it. The location was quiet and secluded. I loved waking up to the sound of the brook babbling right outside the windows, and the front porch was great for having a morning cup of coffee while enjoying the woods and the creek. This place is a gem!

    Laura2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • David's cabin was insanely beautiful on an amazing property. A creek runs through the property -- so close, you can hear the water flow from your window. The area was beautiful. 20 mins from new Hampshire and 20 from Massachusetts. If you need a good hike, there are plenty to go around. Brattleboro was the local town where you can get anything and do everything. If you're looking for a private getaway, this cabin is everything and more. Would def stay here again!

    Kristin2019-09-15T00:00:00Z

Tiny House on Misty Mountain Farm. If you are ready to unplug and enjoy a peaceful stay by the edge of spruce woods in the cutest tiny house ever, this house is for you. (Shower and outhouse in camping area ) Very comfortable bed. This is a working family farm. Come enjoy the beauty of our farm and Vt. Visit with the animals, or hang out by your fire. West river is 5 min away with a great swimming hole, 25 min from Stratton Mt. 15 min to Grafton ski center. Great hiking close by .
8x12 tiny house with small deck on family farm. Large wooded and open area with views of Putney mountain. The Tiny house has a reclaimed hard wood floor, and a full size memory foam bed. There is no electricity in the tiny house but it does have battery and solar lights. There is a very nice outhouse next to your site. Shower and drinking water are located next to the greenhouse in the camping area. The tiny house is heated and has a two burner stove to cook on, and cooler for your food . Coffee and breakfast items are provided. The tiny house is in a large site with picnic table, fire pit and hamic.
  • Wanted an unplugged getaway and I got it! Love the little spot on the farm. There was an unexpected situation and the host was very fair. Definitely want to go back.

    Derek2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great Stay! We wish we could have stayed a few more days! When we arrived at the tiny home it was clean and ready for us to settle right in. We made breakfast with the farm fresh eggs and dinner each day. We slept great! Heated perfectly when we arrived. The bed is raised so all the heat sits at the top and when you hop off onto the floor you feel the cold which was great because the cooler was holding all our food. It was so quiet and peaceful at night. It was nice unplug and just enjoy each other’s company. Our dog had a great time! She ran around in their goat pen! The doors and windows all locked and the sunrise was beautiful. We do recommend that you have all wheel/ 4 wheel drive and great tires if your going to take trip up in the winter months. The roads getting to the house are winding and may be icy and have some snow. But there was a parking spot plowed out for us which was great! Absolutely will come back again! Maybe for a summer trip!

    Demi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here through temps that dipped into single digits during an Arctic blast. The Tiny house warmed up quick with the gas heater and the bed stayed cozy all night because it sits fairly tall where heat collects. Anything closer to the walls still stayed cold. Kept my beer under the bed and it was ice cold all day! We also really enjoyed the fresh local eggs! The yolks were a deep yummy orange. Made for a great breakfast every day with some local bacon. We would definitely come back again. If staying here in the coldest of temps be aware that literally everything freezes during the night unless you crank the heat on high. Toilet paper, food, and drinks turned into an ice block from collecting condensation during the cold night. Mostly not a big deal, but I'd bring baby wipes and keep clothes your going to wear under the covers for the next day! My jacket literally froze to the door!! The cold temps were expected, but do make rugged living a bit more rugged, obviously. Thanks Sharon for your hospitality. The farm is beautiful!

    Ben2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very cute and cozy tiny home (aka: single room), lacking electric outlets or running water. Wifi signal is available but weak, and electric outlets are not closeby. It's a great place if you want to seriously unplug. At night you are in real silence (except for occasional farm animal sounds), you can see many stars, and the silent woods are walkable nearby. It's on a working farm, so noises may start in the morning (ex: a house was being built nearby on the property while I was there). The farm is on a hilly unpaved road, which is salted/sanded in the winter. The inside is very cozy, one room with battery-powered lanterns. The bed is large and comfy, and raised off the floor without a railing (so not for people who toss off the bed while sleeping). Sharon and Alan are kind and generous. They were very responsive and shared many things including farm eggs, bean stew, and de-snowing my car. Thanks for your hospitality !

    Sarah2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly a gem! Beautiful location, beautiful hosts! It’s a working farm and Sharon and Al put as much love into that as they do into their air bnb. They even have a pet turkey named Henrietta that responds to her name and comes over for a scratch behind the neck!! The view is stunning and the House was adorable. Highly recommended.

This private second floor bedroom offers beautiful views of the river. There is a comfortable new queen foam temperpedic bed as well as a futon couch where you can relax, either as a couch or a double bed . This allows the flexibility of having 1-4 persons in the room. You'll have your own bath with a large walk in shower. As guests you will have the use of the fireplace room and all outside space. We have many restaurants within two miles of the house.
This is our family home that overlooks the Connecticut River and you can see the river and nature from every room. Our family has enjoyed recreational activities year round and we wish to share this with our guests. Whether it is staying warm by our beautiful fieldstone fireplace, sipping wine or hot chocolate, reading a book on the comfy couches, taking a nap after a day of play, sitting with friends or hosting a game night we love our place all seasons. In summer you will find us on our new deck or hanging out on our private dock (and we hope you will join us). The dock is accessible direct from the house down a short path. There you have the option to relax, fish, swim, kayak or canoe.
We are the end of a dirt road and offer a peaceful retreat. We are the perfect location; 1.3 miles from Battleboro VT. and 20 minutes from Keene, N.H. We are near to all local colleges, eateries, galleries, community theatre, circus arts (NECCA), bowling, and an indoor pool and spa etc. Our area is known for the literary festivals, strolling of the heiffers parade, international film festivals, women's film festival, farmers markets (summer and winter), monthly gallery walk, the Marlboro music festival, the pumpkin festival etc. We are close to ski areas and Brattleboro offers both x country skiing, skating and a small downhill ski slope. We are near to beautiful hiking, and local farms where you can pick whatever fruit is in season. Keene has miles of bike paths if the hills of Brattleboro are too intimidating.
  • Jim & Judy are as joyful hosts as they are people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be back if we can!

    Jimmy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Judy and Jim are great hosts. They were there to welcome us and made sure we were all set with everything we need and are readily available, if not. Relaxing and chilling in the fireplace room is a must. We enjoyed sipping tea and coffee and watching the sun shine and mist slowly glide across the surface of the water... with the fall foliage on the side, of course. It is a good start of a day.

    Phet2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I wanted a cozy get away to see some foliage! This was a perfect place to do just that :) We were able to explore downtown very easily- breweries, shops- while also going for a nice hike in the morning. Judy, her husband Jim and daughter Ali were super sweet and made us feel comfortable. We also appreciated the helpful recommendations they gave us.

    Sara2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Judy and Jim really know how to accommodate their guests. They are very knowledgeable on the Brattleboro, VT area, and can lend superb advice on restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities. We really appreciated getting to know them both, and Jenny the Dog, upon our arrival at their beautiful home located on the bank of the Connecticut River. Instantly, we felt at home with them, and enjoyed our conversation after a long day's travel. The bedroom has a wonderfully comfortable bed piled high with thick, warm blankets, and has an amazing view of the river. We slept very well, and woke up to a beautiful panorama of the great outdoors. Each morning, Judy and Jim greeted us, and shared great tips to fuel our day of hiking, and later, dining. Each evening, Judy and Jim listened intently as we recounted our day's adventures. If you're looking for a wonderful New England Airbnb experience, you won't want to miss this one!

  • Judy is a great host! She is very welcoming! Her house is very inviting and comfortable! The options for a healthy breakfast are endless!

    Michael2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • All of the great reviews of this space are well deserved. Wonderful hosts, gorgeous setting in a super convenient location to Brattleboro and Putney. We felt like we were staying in a good friend’s home.

    Nancy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was amazing! Judy and Jim are great hosts. This is our 2nd time there and will be a yearly tradition. They both are great people and fun to talk with! Thanks for a great weekend on the river!

    Janette2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • If on that beautiful, sunny New Hampshire morning, you (the reader of this review), had wandered accidentally into the kitchen of the cute house at the end of the drive way, past the watchful eyes of Jennie the dog, past the beauty and tranquility of a slow-moving river, its water rippling playfully against a simple wooden dock, you would have encountered a familiar scene not unlike that of a happy family gathering, or perhaps old friends meeting at a favorite hang-out. You would have discerned the genuine interest in each other’s journeys, the sharing of experiences, the willingness to listen without prejudice. You would have seen the smiles and heard the laughter, Judy’s laughter; authentic, generous, un-afraid. You would have thought, “that’s what community looks like.” And then you would have heard Judy’s voice, that unpretentious, looking-you-direct-in-the-eye kind of voice only a native New Yorker could muster (or maybe a West Chesterfielder too), inviting you in, offering you a seat at the breakfast table. “Take a deep breath, have a cup of coffee,” she would say, “this your home now.”

Enjoy your private room with a shared bathroom/shower and its own private entrance. It has a queen bed and a twin futon. This private room is lovely within our unique, cooperatively run, timber frame mansion in rural Dummerston, just outside of Brattleboro Vermont!
Enjoy a visit to a unique, cooperatively run timber frame mansion in rural Dummerston, just outside of Brattleboro Vermont! Beyond this charming private room you'll have access to our shared kitchen, two common living rooms and dining rooms and two front decks that over look the West River Valley (watch the sunrise!) and 65 acres of beautiful forest to explore. The house is a unique timber frame, whole trees were used as posts and they reach three stories high! Our road can be bumpy and is all dirt, please use caution and 4 wheel drive is strongly encouraged. Take a look at our photos and you'll see!
Our neighborhood is beautiful and remote. Though we are only 15 mins from Brattleboro, by the time you find us up on our hill, you'll feel like you are many miles away. We have friendly neighbors, but you can't see them from where we are, our 65 acres property gives us a lot of room to stretch.
  • What a spectacular setting! It is well worth getting up to watch the sunrise. Accompanied by a delicious cup of coffee that is brewing when you awaken. Our room was lovely and spacious and very convenient to the bathroom. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Away from it all but very convenient to dining and shopping and incredible hiking. Look forward to returning!

    Donna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Book this place! The timber frame home and the people that live there are spectacular. The common spaces, including the kitchen, are designed for communal living—you never feel crowded. The view of the mountains from the porch took my breath away. Amazing nature walk trail in the back woods that you should not miss out on. It’s so quiet at night; I felt perfectly relaxed. The roads and driveway to the house bring you through some deep woods and narrow ways. Be prepared for that. You can get to Brattleboro in about 15 minutes but you are not right in town nor are there any stores around so be sure you have what you need. Perfect house for a retreat weekend.

    Seth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing venue. The room is clean and spacious in an absolutely stunning home. The view is AMAZING, especially in the back, and especially at sunrise. Natalie and the other hosts were so welcoming and we had a lovely stay. Would definitely return.

There is a super sweet patio in the front surrounded by a hedge of rhododenren. It is lovely for morning coffee. There is an outdoor shower. In fact the back yard, looking down a sloping yard to the Green River, is fenced and provides complete privacy. Cell phone service is spotty in this part of Vermont. We have a land-line telephone for emergency use.
The neighborhood of Harrisville, in Halifax, is a country crossroads with 3 houses on opposite sides of the two roads and 2 houses across a bridge over the Green River. Of the 5 houses, 3 are lived in full-time and 2 are second homes.
  • This is a lovely spacious, well equipped and thoughtfully decorated cabin, a very comfortable place with beautiful spots inside and out, to read, enjoy a meal, watch the hummingbirds and butterflies. It is well situated, with really great activities, natural and cultural, nearby.

  • Absolutely beautiful place. The screened in porch was especially nice. My only complaint is that there is no cell service, so you're completely off the grid while on the mountain.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay in the house. It is a lovely “cottage”, well equipped, very comfortable and in a great location - easy access to hike trails, to music (Marlboro Chamber concerts and rehearsals), towns like Brattleboro, a great museum (the Clark), etc. And Katherine and Erik were wonderful hosts and were easily accessible.

  • We had a wonderful time at Summer Moon Cottage! It is a lovely home, owned by people with great taste – evident in the beautiful landscaping, the art on their walls, the books on their shelves, and the set-up and equipping of the kitchen and house, including its delightful outdoor shower and its many wonderful places to sit and eat! People after our own hearts! And they are clearly happy to share their lovely cottage with their guests in a very generous way. The location is great, with access to some great back-road drives up beautiful river valleys, and some terrific swimming holes, plus the Marlboro Music Festival for those so inclined. We would definitely go back! PS: We are swimmers, and Grout Pond was the place to go for a swim! A bit of a drive, but if you are comfortable on the back roads, you can turn that into a beautiful loop drive, with a dip in Searsburg Reservoir as an appetizer on the way north. If you have a kayak, take it along! PPS: And on a rainy day, it is not much more than an hour to Mass MOCA in North Adams, MA, for a different kind of interesting journey, which we delightedly took in as a slightly out-of-the-way detour on our way back to Boston…
