  • This studio really felt like a luxury stay. Beautiful decor, thoughtful extras, and spa like facilities! With a sheltered hot tub, private sauna, kitchen, and pub 5 mins down the road-you don't have to care about a rainy day at this place. Will definitely recommend to friends, and stay again!

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a much needed short break and I chose something a bit special to try to get the most out of our time. The studio excelled my expectations. It was perfect. Easy to book and check in. Very speedy communication at all points in the process. 1st impression was of breathtaking beauty and style, even though the pictures and description are accurate it doesn't do it justice because the rest is the atmosphere, so tranquil even with a storm brewing. Everything worked everything was perfect. Nothing was missing. Style wasnt at the expense of comfort either! Strongly recommend for any occasion.

    Jacqui2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, feels well thought about from the guests perspective in every way. Great for a couples getaway. We turned our phones and made use of the sauna, Jacuzzi, comfy layout and lovely food and drinks. Kept in our favourites list!

Welcome to our shepherds hut, for a touch of glamping in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Perfectly situated for walkers and cyclists as we are right on the South Downs Way and a short drive for Goodwood events. A cosy retreat with scenic views across the Downs, beautiful sunsets, starry skies and passing wildlife. There is a toilet and shower facility. A kettle, mini fridge and teas, coffees, milk, cereals are included in the hut. An electric heater keeps it nice an cosy.
Our Farm is located in the heart of the South Downs making us ideal as a base for exploring the area. A great network of footpaths. Good public transport links. Local to, Chichester, West Dean Gardens, Weald & Downland Museum, Goodwood (races, FoS, Revival), Midhurst, Cowdray Park and South Downs National Park visitor centre.
We are a traditional mixed farm over looking the village of Cocking, with a lovely local pub. Only six minutes drive to Goodwood race course and only ten minutes from Goodwood FoS or Revival. There is a good public transport link running north/south between Midhurst and Chichester, which opens up opportunities to explore these historical towns. There is also West Dean Gardens or the Living History Museum at Singleton which make great day outs. Wonderful network of public tracks through farmland and woodland to walk or cycle - and fit in a pub lunch on the route!
  • I wasn't sure what to expect when I made this booking as I had never stayed in a shepherd's hut before, but I ended up really enjoying it. First up, the location was excellent for my needs. I was walking the South Downs Way and this accommodation was literally on the route. After having to walk to other places every other day it was wonderful to be right there at the end of one day, and start the next day on the route instead of having to walk up a hill to get there. Pauline was very welcoming when I arrived, and I was soon settled into the cosy hut for the night (I spent it relaxing in bed watching TV on my iPad). I was pleased by the selection of beverages that were on offer as I hadn't expected these or the breakfast items. Though the hut itself doesn't have a toilet or shower inside, these are located just a few steps away and were convenient enough to get to when needed. All in all, I had a lovely stay, thank you.

    Michael2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location for those hiking on south downs. The hut's isolated location makes it suitably compliant with self isolation guidelines in force Match 2020.

    Jamie2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Beautiful countryside.

    Joshua2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really cosy and a perfect location for walking the South Downs way

    Lucy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location near great pubs and stunning countryside. Ideal for attending events at Goodwood! Cosy and warm, perfectly clean and we loved the addition of cereals, tea and milk! Perfect for settling in 😊

    Abby2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy place to stay which was very comfortable and warm. Would highly recommend!

    Tilda2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little hut. The perfect respite after a hard (and very muddy) day’s cycling on the South Downs Way.

    Kevin2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline’s Shepard’s Hut is perfect! It is very well kitted out with breakfast and all the bits to keep warm! It is super cosy and very easy to get to. We were walking the South Downs Way so it is right en route. You can catch a bus from the end of the road (couple of minutes walk) into Cocking where there are 3 pubs on the bus line. The buses run late too so it was easy to get around. We loved the Shepard’s hut and would definitely stay again!

A private quirky attic conversion over the garage in the seaside village of Selsey completely separate living to the house . The private guest suite has a shower room and hallway on the ground floor and a studio lounge, kitchen and bedroom area on the first floor (with some restricted head room). A large private garden is also available for our guests, perfect for guests to enjoy the sun and an alfresco dinner or picnic. An outside table and two chairs are also provided in the garden.
The kitchen has a mini fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. We provide tea, coffee, sugar and milk. A large TV is also fitted on the wall, with Freeview TV. Wifi is available; however signal is not always available. We live in a private road and have off street parking in our driveway at your perusal. Our guest suite is only one bedroom and thus available for two persons. No pets or smoking allowed in the attic guest suite.
The beach is a two minute walk away, with plenty of pubs and cafes in the pretty seaside village. Pagham Nature reserve is five minutes away and is a must for walkers and birdwatchers. Chichester, with its array of shops and Cathedral, Bosham and Goodwood are only a twenty minutes’ drive and offer plenty of great days out
  • Perfect little retreat on the Selsey coastline, just a 5 min walk from the beach. Lovely host and wonderfully styled room. The place was spotless. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay and great value. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

  • We had a really good time and our hosts responded to all our needs super quickly. Lovely little spot and minutes from a beautiful seaside walks!

    Lauren2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely comfy little nest on the seaside. The listing is super cozy and comfy. Keep in mind that you are under the roof, so if you are 6ft tall it will be super snug for you and won’t have much space to fit fully standing. You have all you need within the room, kettle, microwave, fridge, TV, WiFi. It was perfect for my last minute weekend away.

  • My partner and I were able to book Charlotte’s place at such short notice due to an issue with a previous hotel. We couldn’t of wished for better hosts. So welcoming and accommodating. The space is just what you need for 2 people. Stylish, clean and homely within a great, quiet location. We will definitely be returning! :)

A light, cosy contemporary self-contained studio space to sleep 2-4 people. We’ve taken time to fill the pretty private courtyard, wet room, kitchen and mezzanine sleeping area with contemporary fixings alongside Swedish and French antiques. This is the perfect space for couples or families looking to come and enjoy all the fabulous things Chichester and the surrounding area can offer. Please note the space is separate to the house so we are able to take bookings and the studio is deep cleaned.
Thanks for stopping by to our little corner! We open our studio and hope you love it. We've taken time to fill our cottage and garden room (The Studio) with French and Swedish antiques and vintage alongside contemporary cool fixings. The kitchen is small but perfectly formed. I am a published food writer so keep an eye out for my recipe books on the shelf! The Studio opens out onto a sweet private patio with table and chairs and beyond is our cottage garden. In the summer you may well see the vintage spitfires and planes flying over from Goodwood. There is a sofa that is big enough for someone to sleep on, and flat screen TV. There is a shower wet room. Upon the mezzanine level there is a lovely deep super king mattress and feather pillows for a blissful night sleep. We take the time to add lovely little touches, like fresh flowers from the garden and fluffy towels. Lastly we have residents parking on the road outside our house and we can provide a supply of vouchers for your stay at extra cost (£10 for 5 days/ £2 per day).
We love the location of The Studio as it's close to everything you may need. Chichester city town centre is a five minute stroll away, with great shops, markets and heaps of cool restaurants (Carluccios, Waggamamas, Wahaca). We are a mile away from Goodwood Motor Circuit and Goodwood Racecourse is also near. Then there is the beautiful West Wittering Beach which is a fifteen minute drive away. There is a vintage cinema two blocks away from us showcasing alternative films, the fabulous Chichester Festival Theatre and there is a IMAX cinema complex on the other side of town (walkable). There are loads of amazing things to do nearby. A Sunday picnic at the Polo at Cowdray, Midhurst. Crabbing at Selsey Beach. Antiquing in the Georgian market towns of Petworth and Arundel (be sure to go to Sparks Yard General Store for brekkie) and there are heaps of other areas to visit.
  • Thank you.

    Robert2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little place. Very comfy bed. Clean. Well located.

    Rebecca2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is very cute and contained. Perfect size for 2-3 people for a few nights. Had everything we needed and Tori gave quick responses to all of our messages. Easy to find, in a good location, quiet area yet close to town. Particularly recommend the Giggling Squid Thai restaurant about 10 mins walk away. Would definitely stay here again!

    Heidi2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really appreciated this warm and inviting studio space during the cold February weather - warm duvets and a heater kept the place cozy. Well equipped kitchen, local brochures provided as well as plenty of books to read, and Tori was available for any issues or questions we had. The bathroom is a "wet floor" style so be aware that using the shower can get water sprayed across most of the bathroom floor, would be much better as an enclosed shower.

    Deborah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, Comfy, quite space. Your own access to the property which was very Handy. Great Location within comfortable walking distance from the City Centre. Very quick Reponses and very helpful host

  • This is a great little place close to Chichester and the beaches of west wittering just a short drive away. Clean very stylish with lovely decor and everything you need for a little break. The bed is on a mezzanine level which means it’s lovely and warm, however if you aren’t very mobile or not good with heights maybe have a chat with the host before booking.

A relaxing and private detached 1 bed converted Barn with Hot tub in a country lane overlooking fields.
Guests have sole use of Barn, Hot Tub, garden and carport. You do not share with anyone else, the whole place is yours. The Barn has its own access and entrance with double carport (195cm high), private garden with Hot Tub all enclosed with high hedges and fencing which reaches to the ground making it perfectly safe for dogs to run around the barn and garden to their hearts content. The Hot Tub is huge with 6 seats, jets, lights and is on all year round. The garden also has a large terrace with brick BBQ (coals provided), large covered seating area with cushions which is south facing and a delightful place to sit whether it’s summer or winter. There is a large flower wall on the terrace with soft evening lighting making it a lovely place day or night. There are string lights all around the hot tub garden and barn that come on every evening on a timer. There is also a separate courtyard garden off the bedroom. The Barn has lots of lovely things for you to use, a wood burning stove (logs provided), TV with Netflix, DVD player and wide range of DVDs, your own WiFi so signal is always strong and a choice of board games. There are lanterns in the garden and plenty of tea lights found in the kitchen for them. In the bedroom the kingsize bed will be made, it’s an EMMA mattress, 3 towels each on top and homemade chocolate brownies plus towel and treat for your dog if they’re coming too. Loo rolls and a range of toiletries to help yourself to in the bathroom that has a huge walk in shower. Coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper and oil in the kitchen. The kitchen has a washing machine, an electric hob and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils to cook whatever you wish. Washing up liquid, scourer, cloth etc all provided. There is an ice bucket and ice in the freezer for your drinks. Dogs are very welcome for no extra cost, just let me know they are coming so I can leave water bowls, towels and treats. Unregistered guests are not allowed, please don’t invite friends as it will result in all of you having to leave the property. The Barn is strictly 2 adults maximum.
Do look at my guidebook, similar info below. A peaceful no through village lane next to Bersted Brooks Nature Reserve. Although 3 mins drive away you’ll find a retail park with Sainsbury’s, 24hr Tesco, Marks&Spencer Foodhall, McDonald’s, Pets at Home etc 10 mins drive away is West Beach Littlehampton and is a beautiful National Trust bay with sand dunes, stones up high and lots of sand when the tides out. East Head part of West Wittering beach is 25 min drive away and has sand dunes, flat soft sand and gentle waves. For dog owners it’s great as both East Head and West Beach allow dogs off lead all year round. Plenty more beaches but these two are my favourite and they have toilets and a cafe. Arundel Castle and Amberley Castle are close, very different to each other. Arundel castle is huge and impressive and worth booking a tour. Afternoon tea at Amberley castle which is now a 5 star hotel is very special and a great way to spend the afternoon, can be booked on their website, unfortunately no dogs allowed. Tinwood Estates Vineyard 10 min drive do a fabulous afternoon at 3pm every day where you can learn about the vines and sample them on their gorgeous terrace, dogs allowed too. Easy to book on their website. On the same lane as us is Splash Hounds, an indoor swimming pool for dogs, details on their website for bookings, a favourite with our guests. Also grubbiepuppiesdoggrooming (Becky) has a Mobile van and can come to you, book in advance for appointment, your pup will be totally spoilt by her! There’s a pub 10 min walk away, The Robin Hood which is very convenient! All the country pubs near us welcome dogs and I’d be more than happy to answer any questions/make suggestions about where to go. In the welcome folder I’ve listed our favourite pubs with descriptions so you can choose what suits you best. Chichester is the nearest city, 15 min drive away and has lots and lots of restaurants and high street shops as well as independent and boutique shops. The centre is pedestrian friendly and plenty of car parks. It has a good nightlife too with taxis being £20-£25 from The Barn to Chichester. Bognor is the nearest town with all you’d expect from a seaside town, amusement arcade by the pier, fish and chips, sticks of rock and a really long promenade to walk on along the seafront. Dogs on lead.
  • The Barn is an idyllic retreat; it offers great stylish accommodation and is a fantastic place to escape to for a few days. We found the place sparkling clean, had everything we expected (and more, including a lovely fire) and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and in the garden patio area. Fleur was both brilliant before our stay as well as during it and we sincerely hope to return one day to this beautiful part of West Sussex to enjoy another few days near the coast.

    Sean2020-03-23T00:00:00Z

We had the best weekend get away; from the moment we arrived Fleur made us feel so comfortable and at home with her warm friendly demeanour and hilarious sense of humour we couldn’t have asked for a better host. The barn is set in such a beautiful location, Fleur’s extra touches made this the best stay from homemade brownies to biscuits for our little pup we felt so well looked after. We can’t wait to return! We love the barn!! Xxx

A beautiful private space, ideal for a couples & families with young children. Also, suitable for single travelers or someone working away. Ideally located in Birdham, an area of outstanding beauty, close to West Wittering beach, Chichester and the famous Goodwood estate. The Snug has its own private entrance & small courtyard outside space. There is parking allocated outside the property for the convenience of our guests. We supply a small breakfast welcome pack for your first morning.
The Snug Annexe is 'connected' to our main home, but has a completely separate feel, as not directly attached to the main house. It has its own private entrance and key lock box. The Snug has recently been renovated and boosts a beautiful open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Unlike a hotel room, our space comes with a fully functional kitchen with cooker/hob, washing machine and fridge. The Snug has its own en-suite shower room with power shower and WC. The accommodation consists of a king-sized bed and sofa (that converts to a small double sofa bed) allowing you to make yourself at home and maybe catch your favorite show on the Snug's wall-mounted widescreen TV, complete with Amazon prime and Netflix. There’s also a table for two, to eat a meal or get some work done if you’re staying on business. It’s all presented in a contemporary style. For our guests with young children. We are happy to accommodate up to two small children at no additional cost. We can supply a travel cot (upon request) but would ask that all linen, bedding and towels for children to be brought with you. If you have an older child they could use the sofa bed, but please note this does take up a lot of space – see picture. Everything has been thought out and it's like a home away from home. Good location too. We will definitely stay again when we head back to the area.

  • Audrey is a wonderful host with a beautiful house. The house is very clean with all of the furniture and kitchen equipment you could want. The garden is a lovely feature and allowed us to have a fab BBQ (with gas provided) and enjoy the great weather. It’s also a great location for beautiful countryside and amazing beaches.

  • We stayed at Audrey's for a long golfing weekend in the Chichester area. Audrey was very helpful and accomodating with our late arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave some good tips on where to go and how to get about. I would recommend the Boat House at Chichester marina which is about 10 mins walk from the house - great location, friendly staff, good food and a good vibe. Would happily go back and do the same weekend again. The house and garden were lovely so definitely worth another visit

  • Well what an amazing house, full of character, with the most amazing views. (It must of taken us over 3 hours to get out the door as we just sat watching the sea!). So many nice touches provided by the host with all necessities in case you forgot anything. Would highly recommend and hopefully will return again one day. For now the house and Selsey hold a special place In my heart with our memories.

  • We had a brilliant weekend here. The house was sparkling clean and really well kitted out, with the most amazing view. We were there during a storm and sat watching the waves breaking over the sea wall. It was the perfect place for a weekend break and wished we could have stayed longer.

A light and airy self contained studio set in a garden within easy walking distance of the centre of historic Chichester. Off street parking available.
Recently completed and furnished to a high standard the studio has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Chichester - a well equipped kitchenette, modern shower room with under floor heating, Smart TV and wifi. A wood burning stove means that it is cosy during winter visits whilst large double doors give it a bright and airy feel in summer and access onto a relaxing west facing private deck with armchairs and views over a gravel garden and vegetable patch. The environment is very important to us so all decisions are made with this in mind. The studio is highly insulated keeping it warm in winter and cooler in the summer. Solar panels provide energy for heating and hot water (when the sun shines!) Logs for the wood burner are well seasoned to minimise pollution and natural firelighters are provided. The majority of cleaning materials, soaps and shower gels are environmentally friendly as are products used in the garden. Suitable for only 2 guests
A short 5 minute stroll through the park, past the medieval city walls and Georgian streets brings you to the centre of this small and friendly Cathedral city. Here there is much to see - Chichester Cathedral, the Guildhall and Priory Park, the beautiful Bishops Palace gardens, Pallant House Gallery, containing it's highly regarded collection of 20th century art, and a wide selection of both High Street and Independents shops, Restaurants and Bars. The Studio is 800m from the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre and only 200m from the wonderful independent Chichester New Park Cinema. Chichester harbour and the beautiful West Witterings beach are a short drive south whilst a short drive north leads you to the rolling hills and pretty downland villages in the South Downs National Park, Goodwood and its many events, the fascinating Weald and Downland museum and the superb gardens of West Dean
  • This Garden Retreat is super cute. Very clean, stylish and double bed was comfy (and we're used to a SuperKing!). Don't worry about it being chilly - we had yucky weather but it was so cosy we turned the heating down and never got around to lighting the wood stove. Quick walk to well stocked grocery shop if you want to cook at home. Loads of shopping and eating opportunities in Chichester if you want to walk in (easy parking if you want to drive).

  • An outstanding experience. A lot of thought has gone into the design of everything, and it is clear Lucy also lives by the highest standards. Great location in a quiet inner-suburb, just 10 minutes walk from the centre.

    Chris2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • It's difficult to find superlatives that have not appeared on other reviews but Lucy has really hit the nail on the head with her excellent property. It actually was spotlessly clean and incredibly well fitted out. The super comfortable bed and mattress made me sad to come home to my creaky monster ! The location was great with all my favourite places in the NE quadrant of town mere minutes away. The sheet of recommendations had a couple of extras that weren't in my own list and Lucy was super helpful and communicative throughout the stay. Even if I don't make it back I'll certainly be recommending The Garden Studio to others.

    Nigel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, quiet, light-filled studio very close to the centre of town (about a 10 minute walk). The place is clean and cosy with good heating throughout and a lovely wood-burning stove. It was February so I didn't to get the chance to sit out on the deck and watch the sun set unfortunately! There’s a Co-op supermarket about 5 mins walk away which is handy. Really enjoyed my stay and would come again.

    Ann-Mari2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation true to description. Very clean and well equipped and a convenient central location. All dealings with hosts were pleasant and efficient. Would certainly stay again and recommend to others.

  • A beautifully presented studio. Warm and cosy and a perfect location providing an easy flat walk into town. Lucy was quick to respond to any questions and the off street parking worked well. Thoroughly recommended as a base to explore Chichester.

  • My husband, myself and our dog Barney had a wonderful stay at Bookers Cottage. The living space had been thoughtfully thought out. It was lovely to arrive to milk and yummy biscuits. The studio is on a small holding with pigs 🐷 which hilariously our Barney was fascinated by, sheep, beautiful vegetable gardens and fields. One in particular that Barney could run free in and play. Keith kindly spent time with my husband showing him his tractor which my Robert enjoyed immensely. The beds were comfortable. We didn’t have good weather but we still had fun and enjoyed visiting Billy’s on the beach in Bracklesham Bay. Well worth a visit 😊🐶😊

It is a very attractive modern detached house in a quiet location on the north/east side of Chichester with free parking and views over Goodwood motor racing circuit and the South Downs. We are 5 minutes walk from St Richard's hospital. Also easily accessed from the A27 and a 20 minute walk to Chichester city centre. A cosy and comfortable double room with en-suite bathroom. Breakfast included. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travellers.
Modern Detached house is on a quiet cul-de-sac. A bright and airy double bedroom with views over the downs, including the Goodwood airfield and the white tent shapes of the Goodwood racecourse at the top of the hill. The double bed has cotton bed linen and there is also a fast wireless broadband facility in all rooms. A tray with tea and coffee facilities is provided in the double bedroom. There is also access to a downstairs sitting room with TV, as well as seating in the garden.
Our street is a cul-de-sac over looking Goodwood airfield/ racing circuit which provides easy access to a variety of Goodwood events. We are also next to the countryside which is great for walking and cycling in. Chichester is a beautiful cathedral city with Roman origins. Visitor attractions include the Novium Museum, Pallant House Gallery and The Festival Theatre. Close to Chichester is the Fishbourne Roman Palace, the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum and Goodwood. The city is also close to outdoor locations such as the Wittering beaches and the South Downs National Park. Being in the North of the city we are also close to the Chichester theatre which has many famous actors visiting and preforming there. Chichester city centre is partly pedestrianised and has a wide range of shops and restaurants. Also our location means we are near several well known supermarkets, John Lewis and a 5 minute walk from a Harvester restaurant (among others).

  • Andrew and Janet are the perfect hosts. They have a beautiful home where I was made to feel comfortable. Easy to talk to, they are such a lovely couple who were very happy to help with anything and they even provide a breakfast which was very convenient. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and cosy, I slept well and having the en-suite was useful. A great Air B and B which is close to big events and is ideal for many people. Parking available too.

  • A lovely little seaside bolthole! Perfect for a family of 4. Our daughters loved their treehouse style bedroom. And the house is cosy, clean, warm and stylish. Everything you need for a holiday get away! We loved the bracing wintery seaside just a short walk away. A short drive away is West Wittering beach, with its sand dunes, is simply stunning. And there are plenty of yummy eateries nearby: Drifters, the drift in & Billy's on the beach is not to be missed!. I highly recommend this Airbnb for anyone wanting to get away from it all, either as a romantic break or a fun family escape. Thank you, Michele and Graham, for making the end of half term so enjoyable!

They made every effort to make it happen, and then were incredibly thoughtful and kindly put up decorations for the Birthday boy. Our second trip was also fantastic. We didn't meet Mary this time but communication was very prompt and she was very personable. Even offered to send my trainers back to me! Really nice trip.

  • A superb location and a very special place - beautifully decorated, double height ceilings, lots of day light, amazing view and company beds. Definitely recommend!

    Angela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying here. Location is amazing and the accommodation was perfect and a lot large than it looks in the pictures. Spent the weekend hearing nothing but sea (and storm ciara!). There are lots of beautiful walks right on the doorstep and lots of nice local pubs in the evening. Mary is a lovely host - she very much respects your privacy and we only bumped into her once over the weekend. She provides lots of advice about the area before hand, recommending lots of great places. Will definitely be back for another stay.

    Anna2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sian was a really responsive and accommodating host. We were given great info on places to stay that helped us a great deal due to having dogs with us. The space is very nice and has lots of character! Has a very homely feel as a family coming together for a long weekend. Being so close to the beach is a really great bonus.

    Oliver2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the house for a second time after a really lovely first experience in October 2018. It's worth noting that the primary reason for returning to the area was because of the quality of our stay at Sian's house. Everything was just as well-kept as it was last time! The amenities listed were all there and, for the price and location, this has again been one of the best-value trips that we could've asked for. Highly recommended, and we'll be keeping many fond memories thanks to Sian's housekeeping (and her lovely white dog)!

    Gordon2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique and friendly House, close to the sea with plenty of room.

    Charlotte2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect, the location incredible. The beds were so comfortable and Sian was so helpful.

    Suzy2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Sian for being such a fabulous host - communication from the start was prompt and helpful. We visited for a family celebration and house itself is excellently equipped but with the added extras of games, magazines, tourist info and even scooters, buckets and spades for the children! We arrived to beautiful fresh flowers in the principal rooms which were much appreciated with the special touch of some chocolate eggs for the children being Easter! Those went down very well thank you so much x Your home is in a fantastic position for families with no roads to worry about between the house and beach - just a beautiful laid lawn and the promenade . . . It offers the most amazing sea views - Waking up to the sound of the waves and that uninterrupted view made our stay extra special!

  • A tranquil and peaceful stay which was much needed. Carol was welcoming and friendly. The hut has the best views, with the back garden being a little sun trap! Would recommend and would like to go back.

    Jessica2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s place is lovely, the hut has all you need for a comfortable stay & the welcome pack was a great touch. The place looks just as it did in the pictures. We loved the hot tub. We would stay here again.

  • This Shepherd's hut is perfect. It was our last holiday before the lockdown and what wonderful memories it gave us. It is a beautiful part of the UK and the Goodwood Hotel nearby served the best roast lunch. Thank you Carol and family!

    Peggy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's hut was very cosy and very comfortable. The hamper that was there when we arrived was very lovely. The hot tub was fantastic with great views of the field through the fence and also being surrounded by fairy lights at night. despite the awful weather the hut had plenty of board games to keep us entertained, a wonderful weekend and will definitely be returning

    Louise2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the Shepherd's Hut for my boyfriend's birthday. The place is gorgeous and despite storm Ciara we still managed to make use of the hot tub when we could! We visited the tinwood wine estate and west wittering beach as well as enjoying a fantastic meal just 10 mins walk up the road at Farmer Butcher Chef. The hut itself is perfect with everything you need and it was so cozy in there with the storm battering outside that we just wanted to stay in and enjoy it. Trip definitely over too soon!

    Rosie2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This little Shepard’s Hut is the perfect little hideaway! When we arrived Jasper showed us around and made us feel immediately comfortable and welcomed. There’s not much you could ask for that Carol hasn’t already thought of, and the attention to details and care taken making this place into the perfect accommodation were really appreciated. The Hut and the Tub were preheated which made our chilly evenings no problem at all! You could really just relax here without need to leave, however we did explore Petworth house and national trust grounds which is 20minutes away. (Highly recommend! Art, Architecture, Nature and 100’s of Deer) We will certainly be returning! Thankyou, Carol and Jasper!

This property has luxurious private accommodation. It sleeps up to 4 people - perfect for either 2 people, 2 couples or a family and an option of an additional single bed if 5 people wish to stay. It is close to West Wittering beach, has many coastal walks, numerous family activities and restaurants. Please note that there is another listing, Spindles Annex, which sleeps a further 2 people. Therefore, if available, it combines to make an ideal stay for a family and parents too.
Everything within the property (‘Spindles’) has been finished to a high standard. Upon entering through into the gated property there are secure allocated parking bays off the beautiful original driveway - one for each bedroom. A path leads you alongside the decked seating area to the private oak front door. Inside, there is a large entrance hall with doors leading to the bedrooms (both with luxury en-suite facilities) and the kitchen/diner/living room.
This beautiful property is ideally located for many reasons. The Beach: West Wittering beach is one of the finest in the country and only a short walk away (5 minutes). The part of the beach closest to this property benefits from being quiet even in the height of summer. At the far end of the beach lies East Head – this is a sand and shingle spit owned by the National Trust, and makes for an excellent walk. Various Coastal Walks: there are many walks from ‘Spindles’ and, one of my favourites, is the footpath alongside Chichester Harbour. A photocopied sheet shows this and other alternatives. Other walks: there are numerous walks close to Chichester. The Shops: there are a wide selection of shops only ½ mile from ‘Spindles’ offering many amenities – including a fishmonger, butcher, groceries and several cafes. City of Chichester : this is approximately 6 miles (10 km) north of ‘Spindles’ and provides a wide range of restaurants, bars, shops and an amazing theatre. Also Chichester has a beautiful cathedral. Goodwood: ‘Spindles’ is very well situated for those wishing to go to Goodwood racecourse or Goodwood car events.
  • Andrew's Place is perfectly located just a short stroll away from West Wittering Beach. Along with the beach the area is filled with wonderful walks. The accommodation is fantastic. Filled with all the amenities needed. Highly recommended.

  • What a beautiful house! Five mins walk to the amazing beach ok West Wittering. Andrew was super with everything including a freshly baked loaf of bread..mmm! Thanks for everything, we will be back!

    Mark2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location, and a beautiful house with bags of character and style. Two spacious bedrooms, both en suite, which suited me and my colleague perfectly. Andrew lives on site and is generous with his time and local knowledge. I cannot recommend this place highly enough

    Lucy2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Spindles, despite the pouring rain! Andrew is a very welcoming and flexible host. The location is perfect, close to the beach and easy to get out and about. Everything was very clean and well catered for - the homemade bread was a really nice touch!

    Caroline2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful property. The second bedroom looks like it is open plan from the photos but there is a door making it private. The property is perfectly placed at the edge for the village so away from the traffic that can build up in the summer. But it is just across from the public footpath down to the sea and a short stagger from the village pub and stores. Enjoy!

    Fiona2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 5 night stay at Spindles with our two young children. Our first impressions was that the cottage was cosy, clean and much closer to the beach than we thought, which was great! Both bedrooms have great size beds and both with en-suites. The upstairs bathroom has a huge shower and bath. Andrew was very kind to put a single bed up for us for one of our children. Andrew was very accommodating, and couldn’t help us enough. We experienced Spindles first power cut in 15 years, and the children were delighted! They’re still asking if they can have dinner in the dark :) The cottage is located in a great area, very close to the beach, a pub, and a shop nearby. We visited West Wittering beach everyday and the kids just loved it in the wind - running away from the waves coming in and flying a kite. We also visited Chichester town & cathedral , Portsmouth Aquarium and Aldingbourne Trust which I recommend a visit if you’re travelling with children, as it is a lovely place with a farm, woodland play area, maze, toy tractor ride ons, sand and water play area, the cafe is great for both adults and children and it’s only about a 30 minute drive from the cottage. Thanks again Andrew for letting us stay at your lovely cottage, and of course for the lovely fresh bread on arrival!

  • Lovely shepherds hut, full of character and thoughtful personal touches. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Gennie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s Shepherds Hut is a perfect nature getaway spot. We had a great stay overnight and really enjoyed all aspects of it. It is not your normal stay as there are not the usual amenities (electricity, mains water) but if you are looking to get away from normal life and slow things down - this place is perfect. We went for a beautiful walk in the forest near the hut, and enjoyed cooking over an open fire in the evening. The hut has a log burner for heating and it heats the space up very effectively and very quickly. The ponies and chickens in the field close by were also delightful! I also particularly liked the composting toilet- really clean and well constructed. There is also a regular toilet and shower available for those who don't want to use the composting one. Overall - it was wonderful so thank you Emma!

    Mila2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin warms up very nicely with the log burner! Very cosy space

  • We had such a great time at Emma's hut, away from it all. It's such a special place to stay, surrounded by nature. It really makes you appreciate the beauty of its surroundings. • We had a great stay and only wish we could have stayed a few days more. Your garden studio is idyllic in the sunshine and your local tips were perfect. We went on the recommended walk which was fantastic despite the wind and mud :-). We will definitely be back in the summer :-). Chidham is such a beautiful village.

  • The studio is new, beautifully designed, and simply and stylishly furnished with everything we needed for our weekend stay. There is lots to do in the neighbourhood. Just 50 metres from the beach for watersports/swimming etc and Medmerry Nature Reserve for walking/cycling. With a variety of attractions, such as Goodwood, Chichester Festival Theatre and the South Downs close by as well as having the beach on the doorstep, this is a superb location - 5 minute drive to East Wittering village and less than 10 minutes to the beautiful sandy beach at West Wittering For the more romantic, we often have some remarkable sunsets to enjoy as you walk along the beach.
A private annex converted in December 2016, integral to the house but completely self-contained with its own entrance, comprising of a studio room with en-suite shower room and off-street parking. To gain entry, you give us a 4-digit code and we’ll set it into the key safe for when you arrive, no need to wait for us. There is no kitchen but a small fridge is provided together with a microwave, kettle and toaster. We provide a welcome pack for the first night, comprising of bread, butter, milk, cereal, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. Breakfast is not provided on subsequent days, although guests tell us there is enough to last for a good 2-3 days. During your stay, please let us know if you need access to a washing machine and/or an iron and we will make arrangements. Beach towels are also available. Everything in the room was purchased new in 2016/17, including a King-Size Bed and a small 2-seater Ikea basic Sofa-bed. The sofa-bed is only suitable for occasional use because the space is not sufficiently large to comfortably accommodate more than two people but could suit a couple with a young child.
Bracklesham beach is no more than a minute’s walk away. There is a short cut-through onto the beach between the houses opposite so if you like to surf, you needn’t even get in the car. There are plenty of watersports and swimming off Bracklesham beach, neighbouring East Wittering and the beautiful sandy beach of West Wittering, which is about a 5 minute drive away, through back roads, avoiding all the queues on the main roads in the height of summer. If you’re a surfer, we can keep your boards safe in the back garden. Medmerry Nature Reserve, suitable for walking and cycling, is only a short walk along the beach from the house. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in both Bracklesham and The Witterings. The closest being Billy’s on the Beach, with its seafront views, only 5 minutes’ walk away and offering great breakfasts as well as light snacks and meals all day... it’s very family friendly. Chichester is a 15 minute drive away, with its bustling town centre, shops, historic buildings, Cathedral, Festival Theatre and Pallant House Art Gallery. The Goodwood Estate, Race Course and the South Downs are only a further 10 minutes from Chichester. So if you’re going to the races, The Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival, the theatre or any of the other attractions in the area, why not take advantage of a quiet location by the sea at the same time?
  • A lovely clean, fresh unit with everything you need. The bed is super comfy and the food and treats were every much appreciated. The accomodation is so close to a beautiful beach, idea spot for a relaxing getaway. Glyn and Harriet are nearby and very friendly, offering assistance if needed. Thank you for a perfect stay.

  • Expect a wonderful place to get away from it all with the best bed in England with the beach just across the road. What a wonderful night sleep! And we were very grateful for all the lovely choices for breakfast. Even during this crazy time you can still get away from it all.

    Charlotte2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy with this choice. It was very clean and the bread, milk and tea etc were most welcome. The bathroom was spotless and the shower worked well. Parking is off road in the front drive so no parking problems. The bed was comfortable. It is not a large floor area but was fine for us two.

  • Lovely clean and well thought out accommodation in a great location. Nice extra touches of ground coffee, fresh milk, bread etc and all the facilities you would need. You couldnt get much closer to the beach and we will definitely be returning when the weather is a bit warmer. Awsome hosts and very helpful and accommodating during our stay. Highly recommended.

The room & immediate outside area is quite close to all the various parked cars, but it was still peaceful during our visit (even allowing for the wild & windy conditions.... Chichester 8 miles away. Local trampolining and childrens' golf. Portsmouth Harbour and Historic Docks 35mins drive. Note: 1 king size bed splits into 2 singles.
Mary and Jonnie welcome you to their well-equipped, spacious apartment which comprises a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment in a charming house with garden. There is a double bedroom and one King (can split into twins), a spacious lounge/diner and a kitchen/breakfast room, which has access to the garden through French windows.
National Trust's East Head, the beautiful West Wittering beach and Chichester Harbour. Birdham Pool is very scenic and you can park up then walk to Chichester Marina in a few minutes. A lovely cafe quickly appears and you can then either walk over the lock and around the Marina or walk through the woods (over the lock then straight on) and continue to pretty Dell Quay and have lunch at The Crown and Anchor, which serves great local produce in a really wonderful harbour-side position. The Shore pub, Shore Road serves good food and has a great atmosphere. Of the many good cafes in East Wittering , we love the Drift Inn, also on Shore Road, with its very friendly atmosphere, which welcomes all -wet dogs, babies, flotsam and jetsam etc. The city of Chichester itself is stunning with its glorious cathedral, city walls, parks and many other sights.

  • This was a great find! Perfect for a family group I took my three young grandaughters and we had the best time, house was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy, extremely well equipped and nice touches including a yummy cake left for us. A couple of minutes walk to the beach. Perfect in every way I would highly recommend Mary's place!

  • We had a lovely time here, the apartment really is family friendly! The toys were a hit with our 3 year old daughter, particularly the play kitchen, the drawing stencils and the play vacuum! The apartment is super homely and we took advantage of the DVDs available. The place was also great for my mum, who has limited mobility. Mary was easily contactable before the trip and provided a baby bath for use in the shower (it was a bit of a novelty for my daughter!). Mary thoughtfully left a birthday card, cake and a balloon for my mum, which was a lovely surprise on arrival. Thanks for a great trip! Xx

  • Mary and Jonnie are fabulous hosts. The downstairs apartment is very cosy and has everything you need. It's a minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the local restaurants, pub and shops. We had a terrific stay here.

A beautifully presented studio style cabin set in the pretty gardens of the owner's property. There is a decking area overlooking a pond and small waterfall which makes for a very tranquil and relaxing setting for al fresco dining. Parking available.
The living area has ample space for the king size bed, a large wardrobe and drawers, a seating area and a dining area. There is a kitchenette in the corner of the cabin which offers an mini oven with grill and hotplates, as well as a kettle and toaster, so it is ideal for self-catering. There is also a lovely shower room with sink, toilet and cupboards.
Pretty, semi rural setting that has good access to Arundel, Chichester, Portsmouth and Brighton.
  • An amazing retreat even during storm Dennis. I couldn't be happier with my stay and the personal little things touches James had done for our stay. I recommend this to anyone and I can't wait to return.

  • The boat house retreat is perfect. It was very clean and tidy, everything in there was set out perfectly and we had everything we needed including some lovely extra touches that James and Karen had left us, including cake, other treats and fish food to feed the fish in the pond. We felt very welcomed and the location is absolutely beautiful. I recommend this to anybody who likes to be in a quiet place but close enough to places to keep you busy when you choose. We will definitely return.
