  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the charming treehouse! It was perfectly rustic and had everything we needed to feel like we had truly escaped city life. D & J were truly kind, relaxed and accommodating on every level. The location was perfect and just far enough outside the village to inspire a stunning 5-10 min walk to the center! Highly recommended if you’re looking for a country getaway with tons of soul, sleeping in the lovely branches of a tree and waking to the sweet sounds of birds, streams and sheep! Thanks again and hope to be back soon!

  • Such a unique, wonderful, peaceful and romantic stay. We loved it and can’t wait to come back in the summer. Breakfast provisions are a really thoughtful touch. Loved sitting on the swing on the porch just enjoying the quiet! Definitely recommend.

  • We had a lovely one nights stay in the treehouse. It was every child’s dream. So lovely and peaceful and their lovely cat made our stay extra sweet with lots of cuddles. Leaving us a generous breakfast, plus milk, bread etc was a really thoughtful touch and although we didn’t visit, the local pub looked lovely! The decoration is so well done and they have made use of the spaces really well. We would love to come back again in the sunshine for a longer stay to be able to appreciate it all fully and make use of the thoughtful outside spaces. Daisy was really welcoming and when she realised a WiFi box was missing when she was showing us our accommodation, she sorted this immediately. Your place is really special, thanks for letting people share it!

  • Best Airbnb we have stayed in. So cute, Comfy beds, and exactly as pictured. It was plenty warm enough for us in February which was our only concern. I wish we would have stayed longer than one night!

  • A unique gem in a brilliant location. The tree house is fantastically done, we stayed in the winter and it was warm and cosy, all the amenities are much better than we expected! A special stay 🤩

  • The Twiglet treehouse was the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away. Everything was as the images show, and the location was just lovely! During our stay we visited the beautiful Frome and it’s independent shops and cafes, before coming into Mells and visiting the local pub. The food, service and staff were friendly, warm and welcoming, it felt as if we were one of the locals. The pub is an easy 15 minute walk from Twiglet if you want some fresh air. Mells village shop is great for essentials if needed too. The river flowing around the edge of the building, the swing seat and the complimentary bacon and eggs were just things that made the experience even better. We even had the loveable cat visit us both mornings, who will expect plenty of cuddles and fuss! Everything felt clean and well cared for around the whole site. We would recommend taking some shoes to slip on when going from bedroom to sitting room as the steps can be wet and slightly slippy too! Highly recommend visiting :)

  • I cannot recommend the Manor or our hosts highly enough. The house is absolutely stunning - even bigger and grander than expected - the perfect setting for a rainy retreat to the country. Maryam and Emma both responded to all of my queries before and during the weekend with lightening speed and their recommendations were spot on. Can’t fault this place at all, an AirBnb gem - get booking!

    Elizabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just echoing other reviews - the place is absolutely stunning and pictures can't do it justice. I had my 30th birthday weekend here with 15 of my friends and it was wonderful. We also had a welcome bottle of prosecco and flowers waiting for us, which was a great touch. Maryam was very quick in replying and accommodating. Amazing place and location! Highly recommended!

    Oana2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time at Maryam’s house; we were a family of 8 adults and 5 teenagers (and 2 dogs!) and had plenty of space for everyone to relax since they were coming from Brazil and Portugal. The house is even better then the photos and both Maryam and Emma were incredibly helpful and provided us with best local knowledge of places to go, restaurants and pubs. Thank you and we can’t wait to be back in the Summer!

    Andrea2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful. Both Emma and Maryam were so helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for the most special Christmas. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and we had so much space. The children had the most wonderful time and we brought our dog who also loved it. The hot tub was brilliant and the games room. We didn't leave the house at all there was no need. Plenty of showers and bathrooms it's really great for large groups. The hosts went above and beyond to make it so festive with two Christmas trees and lots of festive decorations. Everyone loved the house and would definitely recommend it.

    Annie2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property! More than I expected, you could tell it was well looked after, very clean and had beautiful touches for Christmas. Also met with a big bottle of Prosecco which was nice. Would love to go back again in the summer time but definitely a great option to go for a nice weekend away with friends.

    Sam2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We have just got home after the most brilliant weekend at the Old Vicarage. There was plenty of room for 21 of us, and we loved the hot tub! Everything was exactly as advertised and more! We arranged a caterer to come and cook for us on the Saturday night, so we could make the most of the fabulous kitchen and dining table. Harriet was so helpful and gave loads of brilliant information about the local area etc. I’m already trying to think of an excuse to come back!

    Katie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Vicarage was the perfect location for our friend group to gather over New Years. The house is spacious- plenty of room for the 8 couples and two children on our mini-holiday to spread out during the day for work, naps, cooking, and privacy. In addition to being an amazing property, the surrounding village, local pub (The Oakhill Inn) and surrounding attractions were an unexpected value-add, making our trip that much more memorable. Harriet is an excellent host!

    Cleary2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable & spacious accommodation, just what was needed for a family Christmas get together. The kitchen and conservatory are fantastic socialising areas. Comfortable beds with good sized bedrooms.

Quietly situated in the small Somerset village of Holcombe, The Cottage is the perfect country getaway. We are 30 minutes south of Bath. Perfect for touring the South West. Family friendly.
A hearty farmhouse breakfast is provided of bacon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes.
The Cottage’s central location makes an ideal base for touring the South West, with Bath, Wells and Cheddar Gorge all on your doorstep. Walks and bike rides are definitely a must as the surrounding countryside is breath taking, especially during spring with the daffodils blooming. We can also offer guided walks in our area. Bath is a short car journey away with its literature and music festivals. The Thermae Bath Spa is a wonderful and relaxing way to spend an afternoon. This historic city has many stunning places to visit including the crescents, the Assembly Rooms and Prior Park gardens (where Pride and Prejudice was filmed). The smallest English city of Well is also a short trip away. The cathedral is breath-taking and hosts many delightful concerts. There is also a weekly market with stalls filled with local produce and quirky jewellery. There are several notable National Trust properties in this area: Lytes Cary, Montecute House and Stourhead to name but a few. There are golf courses in Bath and Wells. Frome is a charming town filled with snug tearooms and eccentric little vintage shops. Babington House, a private members house, is just 8miles away and is perfect for tea on the lawn or drinks at their stunning bar. The Mulbury factory shop and Kilver Court retail outlet is just outside Shepton Mallet. The Glastonbury tor is a definite for anyone visiting the area, as is the town itself. There is plenty for kids to do as well. Longleat is just down the road and is always popular. Farleigh Hungerfod has one of the country’s last swimming clubs; wild swimming in the river is perfect for those summer months. The castle is also incredibly exciting. Nunney also has a beautiful castle that the kids are free to run around in. Cheddar Gorge is incredible fun with tours through the caves and rock-climbing for the more adventurous among us. Tennis courts can be found just a short distance away in Writhlington. There are also two charming pubs within walking distance, as is the local village shop.
  • Lovely cottage in a great location, close to some wonderful places. Very helpful and communicative host, with breakfast provided at a convenient time that suited us. We would return again!

    Anja2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's place is perfect for exploring the Bath area. She is a lovely person with fantastic advice on what to see. The space was so lovely and comfortable and Claire went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Couldn't recommend more.

    Grace2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay. Perfect for a couple days away from the busy city. Great breakfast , perfect location and awesome host! Will definitely visit again :)

    Jason2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s cottage is a lovely place to stay. We were kindly left eggs and juice and bread so that we could cook for ourselves and not have to worry about going to the store, which was really appreciated when we got in so late and were hungry. We were also left fruit and baked goods. The directions to get to the house are a little difficult, as we kept thinking we were at the wrong house because we didn’t know what the main house looked like, and you can’t see the cottage from the front or back. Claire was on a holiday of her own while we were there so I think our experience differed from the reviews I’ve read on here, but all in all the cottage is a charming, comfortable place to relax away from the city.

    Amanda2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Its a brilliant place to stay. The home was beautifully finished and very comfortable and Clair was the best host EVER...we felt like we lived there! ...and the breakfast was delicious, not to mention the cake and the scones and cream...those special touches that just make it!

    Dominique2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Will most definitely be returning to Claire’s lovely cottage. She was very accommodating. Also such a lovely person and always happy to help, she was great with my daughter and her dog Boris was also very friendly which again my daughter loved. The food was amazing every morning. Looking forward to coming back!! Great value for money.

    Dean2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! Claire was very nice and super helpful with how to go and visit Bath and some extras that we could do. Breakfast every morning was fantastic and the cottage was spacious and clean! We will definitely be coming back again!

Roseberry Cottage is an old miners cottage built in the 1830’s. A small traditional cottage, cosy space with a quirky edge. Surrounded by stunning countryside and in the heart of the Mendips there’s much to see and do. Perfect for exploring the Roman city of Bath and surrounding areas, Frome, Bristol, Cheddar, Longleat and Stonehenge, Wells, Stourhead. Babington House is a 5 minute drive away.
The cottage is unique and cosy, we have a love for vintage and detail. The house is simply furnished and has everything you need to sit back, slow down and enjoy. From the back you overlook the village playing fields, there’s a skate/bmx park and a children’s play area. To the front of the house is a small cottage garden with space to sit out in the sunshine.
The village has a great co-op which is open from 7-10 everyday and has all the basics and more. We are 5 minutes from Vobster Quay dive centre and Babington House
  • We enjoyed the stay, thanks!

  • We spent a relaxing and romantic three nights at the cottage over Christmas 2019. The place is the perfect size for couples and you can tell that a lot of love and care has been put into the place. There are so many stylish and thoughtful decorative touches everywhere. We especially enjoyed the toasty log-burner we could barely tear ourselves away from! The kitchen was also so well equipped that we could cook an entire Christmas lunch for two and had almost all the utensils we needed. Thanks again for such a wonderful escape, can't wait to come back.

  • Sally's cottage is so beautifully decorated and even after a three day stay we noticed little quirky details. It's fitted to a very high standard, is quiet, comfortably and very cosy. It would be great for children as the playing field is just a step from the backdoor. There's plenty to see and do in the area especially if you time your stay for the Frome Independent Market.

    Nicola2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s cottage is just lovely. Stylishly decorated in a really practical way. Can’t rate it highly enough. Will return as soon as possible.

  • We are just back in and I'm eager to write this review as we had such a lovely time. This sweet little cottage is full of charm, style, warmth, cosiness and history yet has all modern amenities. There's a stillness that is so peaceful in the cottage. We all slept like logs! My kids absolutely adored the playing field which is right outside the back of the house. We got to watch a football match from the comfort of the house. I'll miss seeing my kids run around in the field in their wellies and pjs so much!! Thank you so much Sally and co. for making us feel so welcome and relaxed XXX

    Jake And Bam2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • I strongly recommend Sally’s cottage as a base to explore Somerset, Wiltshire and Mendip Hills, as it is very close to many wonderful places. We stayed there three days and we enjoyed a lot. The cottage is really well decorated and equipped and we felt very comfortable, except for the available space for emptying our suitcases, as there is not a lot of space in the house for that. Sally was a great host, she explained perfectly how to check in and out and the description of the cottage was very accurate. Thanks!

  • Don't hesitate to book, great all around and I will look to stay with Sue next time I'm in Bath.

    Ross2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was an excellent host even though we never met. The extra little touches in the property where very much unexpected but appreciated. Very clean, warm and cosy with excellent communication. Would definitely recommend and return to stay again if I was returning to the area.

    Wayne2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The standard of accommodation and amenities goes way above and beyond the 'norm'. We were amazed at just how many extra things were available in the kitchen: not just salt, pepper and oils, but a whole range of herbs, plus milk in the fridge, tea and coffee (and filter coffee if wanted) ~ loads of things that we didn't use as we took most of our own stuff! We never got the chance to actually meet Sue unfortunately, but communications were friendly and she was quick to reply to questions. The bed was like being at home for us: a memory foam mattress that was incredibly comfortable. A nice touch were the motion sensor lights that came on as you entered the kitchen and the bathroom. We couldn't fault the cleanliness of the whole apartment, and it was lovely and quiet, too. We were down in the area to attend a weekend event at the Bath & West Showground, and it was an easy 30-minute drive from there.

Own bedroom / own bathroom (not a power shower) in shared house with owners. Area is extremely quiet, very little light pollution - we have two dogs and your dog is also welcome if you have one. The house is set in 3 acres of land with its own Grade 2 listed Aquaduct - a wonderful place to get away for it all with the local pub only a 10 minute walk away.
Andrew and Liz live at the property having moved in August 2019 - you will have sole use of a bedroom and bathroom although the shower is not really a power shower but very slow as we need to upgrade to a power shower in due course. The room decor is clean and tidy but does need a bit of updating as we only moved into the property in August 2019 although it does seem the bathroom has recently been decorated. You will have shared use of the kitchen which have all the normal amenities you could expect along with fridge and cupboard shelf space to use including kitchen cooking utensils/pots and pans etc that you may need. Free tea /coffee/milk/sugar/sweetener is available for your use in the kitchen. There is also use of the dining room which has a settee (although not the most comfortable one so will provide lots of cushions to use )There are plenty of places for you to explore on and around our land - lots of walks (there is a public footpath on our land). All you can hear in the mornings are the sheep, ducks and geese that live near us and at night it is wonderful to look up at the stars as so little light pollution. Take a walk along the footpath to follow the stream to the end of our land and beyond. Pub is 10 minutes walk away and there is also a Co-Op a few minutes drive away. Nearest town is Frome 17 minutes car ride - lots of shops/restaurants as well as a cinema, theatre available, Also 22 minutes drive from Longleat Safari Park should you wish to visit. One other point of interest is that we also have a nuclear bunker under the house which is still in the original state we found it when we moved into the house in August 2019 - so you will be welcome to have a look at that during your visit.
No through traffic, no lorries, beautiful, quiet with a town close by. Our property is unique as it has a grade 2 listed aquaduct onthe land and is set in 3 acres.

The basic kitchen facilities and laminated card with thoughts about the area really assisted out weekend stay. Hannah is a welcoming and friendly host in a quiet, family neighbourhood. Suitable for a cosy, weekend couples stay.

  • I decided to book Hannah and Ben's place at very short notice and straight away I received messages from Hannah regarding the chalet. I received communication leading up to my arrival. Hannah was very accommodating and she met me outside to show me the place I was staying in. I received a very warm welcome from her. The chalet is very cute and has everything you need for a comfortable stay including extras like breakfast items and facilities to make hot drinks. Hannah's place was very clean and just perfect for what I needed it for. Parking is easy outside, even with some work being on the driveway, there is plenty of on-road parking. I would definitely recommend Hannah's place and if I ever need another place to stay temporarily then I wouldn't hesitate booking Hannah's chalet again. Thank you for being a great host!

One of the hosts, Ben, greeted us and showed us to our chalet where we were greeted with some complimentary breakfast snacks, teas & coffees - along with a lovely shower, hair dryer, telly etc. It’s all you need for a cosy night in Somerset! Thanks again for having us, can’t wait to stay again sometime soon!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Bridget's. She was greeted us on arrival and had left us some breakfast foods and other essentials, which was very nice. A good location for exploring Somerset, we went to Cheddar Gorge, Wells, and Bath. We hadn't realised how close to the road it was, but it wasn't too noisy. Lovely view of a sheep field from the living room area

  • We spend 2 nights in this beautiful cottage and it was just perfect. Other than it being a bit wet outside we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We arrived late Friday night and we were straight in and settled in no time. We were welcomed by a very clean warm, homely space which was very well stocked with the essentials including, butter, milk, breakfast cereals, orange juice, bathroom items etc. Communication wit Bridget was very good and Bridget was always happy to answer any questions that I had before arrival. Our stay was just lovely thank you so much. 100% recommended

  • I stayed at in the Tiny House whilst on a weekend away for valentines with my partner. This stay exceeded our expectations. Such a lovely Annex that has been done out with a stylish and modern furnish. It has everything you need. Bed was extremely comfortable, we had such a good nights sleep! Pete was an excellent host, very attentive and informative! He also left us a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates upon arrival which was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay and I would most definitely return if in the area again.

  • Pete was a fantastic host. The location was easy to find with free parking and a beautiful location. It’s perfect for any kind of stay, Pete even went out of his way to bring milk and some beers which was such a thoughtful touch. Thank you again Pete, the accommodation has everything you could want and we will definitely be staying here again. 5* for everything!!!

Leat Cottage is a purpose built holiday let. Sociable open plan living with a downstairs bedroom and shower room/toilet for easy access. Two other bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs
Leat Cottage is perfectly located to enjoy the rural views whilst relatively close to local tourist attractions, towns and cities. Enjoy busy days out and come back and rest in the peace and quiet. The open plan living area is ideal for a sociable holiday, no one gets stuck in the kitchen on their own. It has oak flooring with underfloor heating so is comfortable all year round, you can enjoy winter views from the comfort of the sofa. The downstairs bedroom has a kingsize bed and is accessed from the main living area with no steps, the downstairs toilet and shower room are also on level ground and accessed from the main living area. The master bedroom upstairs has a kingsize bed and views over fields from another floor to ceiling window. The other upstairs bedroom has twin divan beds. The upstairs Bathroom is accessed from Jack & Jill doors from the bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen, with a hob & oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge and crockery/cutlery for six guests. We built Leat Cottage in 2007 and have been running it as a holiday let ever since. It is part of Hippys Farm, we live in the farmhouse next door. We keep a little herd of Pygmy goats and a small flock of sheep. Parents of young children need to be aware there is a stream in front of the cottage garden.
We are on the edge of a village, rural views but within walking distance of the village shop and pub.
  • My girlfriend and I stayed for a long weekend at the cottage and the experience far exceeded our expectations! Andrea was fantastic and made us feel right at home! The cottage and the grounds are beautiful and make for a great escape with wonderful views and all modern amenities. The place was spotless with some very nice welcoming touches. Meeting and feeding the goats was a highlight of our trip and a unique experience to staying here. The location is within driving distance to some England’s greatest tourist attractions such as Bath, Castle Combe and Stonehenge. The local villages are very nice to visit and there are some great local pubs and restaurant recommendations to go for lunch or dinner. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing country break in the Southwest.

    Philip2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay with family in the country. The house is well appointed, great natural light, very clean and kid-friendly. Andrea also provided a cream tea welcome the afternoon we arrived which was fabulous. Would go again!

    Samuel2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a wonderful weekend with our 3 kids. The house is spacious and well appointed. Nice view on the countryside and the goats are happy to play with kids. Andrea is more than welcoming. We definitely recommande

    Nicolas2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • I loved our stay at Leat Cottage so much, I am not sure where to start. The cottage is in a lovely rural village location and right from the outset, things were brilliant. Andrea was there to greet us, show us round and explain things like heating etc. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed for a comfy stay, from quality towels, comfy warm bedding, modern kitchen which was fully equipped, chairs that you could sink into and even a Christmas Tree. Though it was a little cold to make use of the outside space and games room, I imagine this would be glorious in summer. It was the little touches that made it so special, like the cream tea waiting for us on arrival, the luxury hand soap and hand cream. Andrea really has thought of everything. A lovely property whether you are a group of adults wanting time away together or with a younger family. A herd of Pygmy goats live in the field next door and were a great joy to my grandchildren, who loved the spotters guide provided. All in all, a place I would thoroughly recommend and will be looking for an excuse to come back to.

    Bev2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed in this delightful cottage over Christmas. It is very private with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The accommodation is of a high standard and it is very well equipped. Andrea was very kind in letting us use some of her freezer space as the cottage only has a small ice box in the fridge and we had lots of food in preparation for Christmas Day. There was a welcome pack for a cream tea which was a lovely touch. We loved trying to identify the pygmy goats who came to the window every morning from their profiles provided in the house notes! We didn’t see much of the area due to it being a family Christmas holiday. Although it is quite rural there is a good small Co-op within walking distance and bigger shops a short drive away. We’d love to go back in the summer to see more of the area...

    Rachel2018-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an immaculate place in a beautiful setting. Everything was perfect and we all enjoyed the scones, jam and cream that were provided. Other welcome extras were tea, coffee, shampoo etc. The whole experience was amazing! The owners also managed to provide good weather!!🙂🙂🙂.

    Paul2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Of all the cottages we have stayed in around the UK Leat cottage has been the best, It is a cleverly converted barn with huge windows providing lovely views of the surrounding meadows with sheep and pygmy goats. We all enjoyed feeding the pygmy goats and watching their antics. We received a warm welcome from Andrea upon our arrival, she was a thoughtful and helpful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was very comfortable and spacious with a lovely outdoor area. We would love to visit again. Michele & Pat

Beautiful Ottoman Farmhouse style summer house, a gorgeous little retreat for a peaceful break, a writing holiday or a few days of reflection amongst nature. The sun will pour through the oak tree above your head and there is a stream not far away. A simple breakfast of warm croissants will be delivered in a basket onto your private deck or left in your fridge, tea and coffee is available in the summer house and there is a homely pub for an inexpensive tasty meal a few minutes away.
It is small but there is everything you need for a perfect stay. It is very warm in winter. Mobile signal is not great, but you can blame the Jack and Jill Hill, the actual one from the nursery rhyme for that! There is an exquisitely comfortable double bed, a fridge, shower, sink, toilet, table, deck and kettle in the summer house. There is NO kitchen. All new bedding, mattress and towels.
There is lots to see and do. The Jack and Jill Hill with its well at the top, the miles and miles of walks and cycle tracks through beautiful Somerset right from the house, the pub and Babington House or you could stay in the hammock in the garden. If you want to get in your car, Bath is ten miles away, Frome seven, Stonehenge an hour and Glastonbury and Longleat twenty to thirty minutes.
  • Jacki is a sublime host and quite the talented lady to boot...the tiny house is quainter than quaint and extremely robust, it blew a gale the first night and I have never felt more cosy and secure. The local countryside is wondrous. I like to run and there is a perfect cycle path behind Jacki’s house for cyclists and runners...fab!

    Paul2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Snuggly cabin overlooking a garden framed with a stream, and woken with warm croissants & other goodies. Perfect!

    Harry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish cozy cabin style accommodation. Great touches of real ground coffee, and milk in the fridge. Tasty croissants and bread (for toasting) for breakfast in a basket with butter and jam left outside on the deck every morning. Great location for walkers and cyclists, being close to National Cycle Network route 24 - known as the Colliers Way, it goes from Dundas Aqueduct to Frome. Jacki is a friendly, thoughtful host, and we'd love stay there again.

    Catherine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute summerhouse, exactly as it looks in the pictures, we went in the winter and it was very warm with the heater on!

  • Jacki made our staying in her lovely tiny cottage just amazing! I can recommend this place any time a year. It was hot and comfortable despite the weather. Everything was clean and stylish. And the breakfast was delicious!

    Ekaterina2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for peace and quiet, to relax alone or with another, this is the place to do so! The tiny house is situated in a great location, with beautiful surroundings and is a great base for either walking or driving to the neighbouring villages and towns. The space itself is stylish, cosy and has all the amenities you'd need for a short break, and you will not find a better host than Jacki. She's genuine and personable with great local knowledge, and cannot do enough for her guests! Go visit for yourself and reconnect with nature!

The house is situated in the heart of the picture postcard pretty village of Nunney. It is a stones throw from the French style medieval Nunney Castle, and looks out over Nunney Brook and is just a short stroll from the pub and historical church. Nunney Pottery is an elegant Georgian house that was once the village butchers. The rooms retain their Georgian features and are furnished with finds from travels to Africa and India. While staying here you could also book a pottery or glass lesson!
The village of Nunney is perfect to spend a relaxing time, also a short drive away is Frome with its independent shopping and cobbled streets, and Bruton with the famed Hauser and Wirth art gallery. The house itself is full of Georgian features including original fireplaces and a Chinese Chippendale staircase. What makes this place special though is that the downstairs is now a working pottery, so if you want to can watch pottery being made or even have a go at making your own pottery pieces.
Nunney is a very special little place, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly community. Apart from the fascinating castle and church there are lots of interesting and beautiful walks to be had from the house. It is also perfect for visiting Bath and Longleat House.
  • A warm welcome from Kim and a very comfortable room - nicely decorated and our own spacious and well equipped bathroom. Great place

  • We loved our stay at Kim’s home! Beautifully decorated, spacious, bright and clean room - it was so peaceful and relaxing.. just what the doctor ordered ;) thank you for being a lovely and understanding host (we arrived very late!!) and providing all the little bits we could possibly need over the weekend (including my favourite tea :)!).

    Sherin2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Kim's place. Ideal location for our visit to family in the Somerset area. Nunney is a real gem of a village - bursting with character and history, yet close to shops and amenities of Frome & Bruton. Parking is available nearby on the street. Kim is so lovely and efficient, made sure the next door Pub served us when we arrived later than planned and next morning provided a fabulous nutritious continental breakfast served in her very own beautiful ceramic crockery! The bedroom is as per the photo - lovely Georgian features, spacious and pristine, together with stylish bathroom with both a bath and separate slate-tiled shower. Great accommodation - highly recommended.

Not only was she a brilliant host, with a unique home full of interesting features, she took time to get to know us and was so friendly and generous with her advice. We hope to go back and try out the pottery classes later this summer. The village itself was also very pretty, and well worth a visit.

    Catherine M2019-05-19T00:00:00Z

  • We couldn't recommend staying at Kim's enough. The location is fantastic with a nice pub and castle ruins literally a few steps away. The house oozes character being a working pottery, and Kim was a wonderful and thoughtful host (even let us have a go on the pottery wheel!). Room spotless and cosy. The Hole in the Wall is part of a Grade 2 listed building, the owners occupy the main house and the refurbished cottage (which is separate) is at the rear, it is 20 - 30 mins from Bath, Wells, Longleat, Glastonbury & Cheddar. On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen diner, on the first floor there is a large lounge with sofas at one end and a double bed room area at the other end. There is also a separate bedroom with twin beds, there is a comfy foldaway bed for a 5th guest.
The Hole in the Wall was originally a public house and the cottage was the brewery. After being derelict for several years it was completely renovated to a very high standard in 2016. The main lounge had many original Victorian features including a marble fireplace and original ceiling rose.

A short distance from Betty (approx 10 meters away) is a laundry and shower room with electric shower, loo & basin. There is also a washing machine, tumble dryer, and a fridge freezer which you are welcome to use. We will provide guests with bedding, towels, and a few breakfast items. Please can you let us know when booking if you have any dietary requirements/allergies. On Tuesday nights a mobile fish & chips van visits the village.
  • Great stay - Kim was super helpful and welcoming & we loved our room. Very quiet and peaceful in the village. Highly recommend.

The Cabin at Brewery Cottage is a cosy garden space in the historic Mendip village of Holcombe.
Our snug log cabin is tucked away in our garden behind a newly planted beech hedge and raised vegetable beds. There is one main room with a comfortable sofa bed that pulls out into a double bed. A kettle and small fridge are provided and there is an adjoining shower room with electric shower, loo & basin. Excellent meals are available at Holcombe Inn and The Duke of Cumberland. The Co-op in Coleford is a mile away and stays open till late.
Holcombe is well known for the Plague Church in the woods set apart from the main village. The Old St Andrew's Church has been the scene of many BBC Poldark weddings and funerals. It is just a mile from the village, down a farm track and is set beautifully against a backdrop of tall trees, with Downside Abbey towering beyond. Holcombe is close to Shepton Mallet, the Royal Bath & West Showground, Frome, Wells, Glastonbury, & Street and just thirteen miles to the north lies the famous Georgian Spa city of Bath. We are in the perfect location for exploring the beautiful county of Somerset.

  • This is the second time I’ve stayed at Penny’s cabin and it was even lovelier than I remembered! The space itself is cosy and unique and the hospitality that Penny offers really adds the magic touch! Penny made sure the cabin was heated for us so when we got there it was warm and also asked what breakfast we wanted, providing more than we expected! We had a lovely stay! Thank you Penny! We will return!

    Jose2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Penny and Clifford were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. The cabin was kitted out very well with toiletries, fruit bowl, breakfast treats, teas coffees etc. There was even a portable DVD player – but we took our Ipads (great wifi). We stayed in October and even though it was a little chilly outside – the heater made it very cozy at night. We had a lovely dinner at the Holcomb Inn which is 7 min walk away from the cabin – would highly recommend staying at the cabin.
