  • Absolutely amazing stay at Riversound B&B! The location was breathtakingly beautiful and the apartment itself was gorgeous. Jacqui provided a wide selection of breakfast choices and ample recommendations for nearby walks and attractions. Regular visits from Albus (Jacqui’s very friendly dog) was the icing on the cake :) Thank you for a wonderful stay - it was the relaxing break we needed! We will be back :)

  • This is an amazing apartment to stay for a get away. I came with my boyfriend and it’s in such a beautiful location with amazing walks nearby. Would love to come back and stay again soon! Jacqui was lovely and was always around if we ever needed anything and provided breakfast which was a lovely start to each day.

    Cara2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We love to stay at Riversound, mostly because Jacqui takes such good care of us We do not have to worry about breakfast or sandwich makings. She keeps us full of croissants, toast, tea, yogurt and fresh fruit! The space is lovingly decorated and you go to sleep and wake up to the river outside your door. Lots of pubs within walking or a quick drive. If you are like me, and work full time and want to escape this is a slice of heaven. We moved on to a place in north Wales that is nice with a view. There is such a difference in how I feel coming to Jacqui's home..it is so cozy and delightful.

  • Stunning place, beautiful scenes, cosy and clean! Fully recommend!

    Sophie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We needed 2 days of rest and nature. We got more than we needed here. The open fire, the rushing waters and the water fall on your door step cleared away any cobwebs. This is an amazing place to stay. I can not recommend Jacqui and John highly enough.

    Maged2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, had breakfast stuff and drink etc there waiting for us. No cooker or hob but the pub was about a minute walk from the house or there were loads of places around if you’ve got a car. It was raining when we were there but it would have been so lovely to sit outside and have breakfast and watch the river. Lots of maps and personal recommendations for things to do when we arrived. We drive to the four waterfalls and did the walk which was amazing but it was a bit of a drive. Definitely need a car if you want to explore. Very pretty views. We had a lovely time.

  • Beautiful cottage, great location. Quick responses with tips on the local area. Amazing extras for special touch. Biscuits, fruit, milk, juice, breakfast condiments, bread, fresh coffee. Made the weekend very special. Even messaged to say not to rush checking out and to take our time. Thanks so much for a lovely stay x

Our rustic shepherd's hut is located on our small family farm just outside of Talybont on Usk in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Wander down to the local pub, head out over the mountains and gaze at the stars (telescope available!). Discover Cymru - chosen as one of the best AirBnBs in Wales! The hut gets it's name from the Welsh for orchard - Y Berllan, as it sits beside our orchard. We also have two other little huts called 'Tor y Foel' and 'Pen y Fan'
Get off-grid in luxury in our shepherds hut. You'll be warm as the hut is fully insulated and contains a wood-burning stove (first basket of logs included, please bring extra with you or purchase from village shop or local garages). The lights and sockets are powered by a solar panel which should be fine for charging phones etc. Cook either on the top of the stove, BBQ grill or gas camping hobs. The double bed has plenty of pillows and a sheet but you'll want to bring your own sleeping bag/s or duvet. There is no water supply to the hut itself but you'll be able to fill a jerrycan (from the wash hut) and top up the canteen. Heat water on the wood burner or gas. The wash hut is located 100m away on the yard. There you'll find the WC and shower.
Quiet countryside with excellent local pubs and restaurants.
  • Great get away. Hut has everything you need and loved the log burner.

    Natalie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at the shepherds hut on a frozen January weekend! The log fire was so toasty and we felt really cosy. Also great location for close pubs and walks.

  • A nice hut away from everything. Accessible via public transport. The hut had everything I needed for my stay and the wash room wasn't far away. It was warm when I got the fire going. It was good to have a gas hob as well to make a cuppa before the fire. Really nice off grid place!

The 'Cwtch', is delightfully situated at the foot of the Blorenge. Conveniently placed on the edge of Llanfoist village it borders the Brecon National park. The cabin is located in the garden of the Coach House sharing the same parking area. The Cwtch has a spacious veranda which leads to the living space with kitchen and sitting area. From there, there is a bedroom and bathroom with a bed loft accessed by a secured ladder. The bed loft has a stair gate for the safety of smaller guests.
Included in the facilities offered by the Cwtch (pronounced coo - (as in cook) ch (as in church) , for those staying for longer periods or with small children, there is an attached utility room with washing machine and dryer, also large Belfast sink for washing dirty boots, fishing tackle, or kit. There is a TV/DVD player and access to our library of nearly a hundred DVD's, as well as free view satellite TV.
Llanfoist village lies on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National park and Blaenavon World heritage site. Follow the stream that runs through the garden up the Blorenge past the Monmouth to Brecon canal, or down to the river Usk, all within 5 minutes walk of the cabin. Abergavenny, famous for its food festival, is only 20 minutes walk. Or step outside and watch the Velothon come past your door, the Welsh national cycling event. All of these stunning landscapes offer a range of attractions from walking to hangliding, pony trekking and canoeing in the majestic Wye Valley. If you like to eat out, we recommend the Spice Lounge in the village or the Angel, Foxhunter bar in the Abergavenny. There are also Thai, Chinese, Bengali and Gurka restaurants or takeaways in the town. Waitrose is 10 minutes walk, and Aldi or Tesco is a short drive.
  • This is a lovely cozy cabin right next to the Blorenge and an easy walk to town. Hassle free and everything you need.

    Abby2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to explore Walsh countryside, very good location. Great family walks just around the Llanfoist town, but also not far from highest peaks of South Wales. Only 30 min drive to Pen y Fan. There are lots of local pubs in Llanfoist and the big Waitrose for those ones who would like home cooked meals. Peter’s kitchen is very well equipped and has got absolutely everything you need. Good touch including basic things like tea, coffee, sugar, salt, olive oil and few herbs. Really enjoyable stay, nice and stylish cabin, much bigger than I expected. Thank you Peter!

  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay in the Cwtch. We were looking for a cosy play to stay during our weekend in Llanfoist and this was just perfect. Right at the foot of the Blorenge mountain means it is the ideal location for anyone looking to go on some scenic walks and hikes and it was also a short walk away from local shops and restaurants in Abergavenny. Peter’s place is perfectly clean and has everything we needed, including a book with local tips and recommendations. We loved the spice lounge!

The School Annex is bike and walker friendly with the Taff Trail right on its doorstep. Talybont-on-Usk is a great hub for exploring the Brecon Beacons: walking, cycling, stunning scenery & incredible star gazing right on your doorstep. A detached self-catering holiday cottage, next to the owners home, it's ideal for long weekends, short breaks or longer stays. Whether you aim for the mountains or just want to relax & enjoy the views, you may find 2 nights isn't quite long enough - just saying!
The School Annex is on the edge of the small village of Talybont on Usk, a village in the Brecon Beacons with canal and rivers offering an excellent base for exploring with walking and cycling direct from the garden and incredible star gazing at night. You are only a few minutes walk from the village shop, cafe and post office and two great pubs serving a good range of local food. The School Annex comfortably sleeps four adults or a family of 5 . If a family of 2 adults with children, please note that we don't charge the extra per person per night rate for over 4 people. This is only for extra adults. Bedroom One: the Mezzanine is up some very steep steps so not suitable for children or if you need to get up lots for the loo in the night! You will find one superking bed up here which can be split in to two singles. An occasional single can also be put in this large space if required. There is a large Velux above the bed which means you can relax and star gaze and then close the black out blind with a remote whilst lying in bed. Please view our pictures. Bedroom Two: is downstairs with a double bed and a single bunk bed above it. There is a separate toilet next to this bedroom space. See pictures. Study: we are able to put an occasional single bed in this space if downstairs sleeping is required for more than two adults or children. Please ask if this is an option you want to investigate but note that it wouldn't give complete privacy. Bathroom: this is a good sized bathroom with shower (no bath), toilet and sink. For families with babies we do have a baby bath which fits perfectly inside the shower. Kitchen/Diner: Please note that the large kitchen/diner is separate from the main liveing accommodation but only by a few steps across the courtyard. It is large enough to relax in and has a dart board at the back. Whilst quirky, on the plus side it does eliminate cooking odours from invading the living and sleeping space. It also means that groups can socialise late or get up at different times without disturbing the others! Tea and coffee making facilities are in the living space for a cuppa when you want it. Please view our pictures which include a 3D layout of the accommodation so you can visualise how it is laid out. Cycle Friendly: we are cycle friendly accommodation with a space to lock up bikes and wash them down at the end of a days cycling. Talybont is a Brecon Beacons Mountain Bike hub too so some great rides right from the doorstep! We are also a short car drive to Bike Park Wales. When you come back muddy, there is a washing machine and lots of drying space. Coming in an electric car? We have a type 1 charge station next to your parking space which is fine for an overnight charge. If you need a fast charge then the village hall has a fast charge station and tokens are £5 from the village shop. Easy! Whether you are looking for an activity break, want to visit some of the many places of interest in and around the Brecon Beacons, or just want to take time out and relax, this self catering holiday property offers a high standard of accommodation in a fantastic location. Some useful things to know for your packing! We provide in the kitchen: washing up liquid, T-towels, dish cloths, salt, pepper, cooking oil, cling film, silver foil, kitchen roll, bin bags and a little tea, coffee and sugar to get you going. We don't provide washing powder for the washing machine but do have eco wash balls which work well if you want to give them a go! Here you will also find OS maps of the area and lots of local information. For the bathroom we provide: good quality hair and body shower gel, conditioner, hand soap, towels. In the main accommodation you will also find a mini fridge which will have some milk in it for your complementary teas and coffee. If you forget your slippers there is a box of assorted slippers to choose from and in the winter you will find a hot water bottle on your bed!
The School Annex is in a stunning location in the small rural village of Talybont on Usk but with great local places to eat and drink, all within walking distance. There is easy access out in to the Brecon Beacons and the Taff Trail for walking and cycling. The towns of Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny are within easy reach by car.
  • Clare's place is an absolute gem - with two couples (4 persons total) we felt so wonderfully looked after and comfortable! The location is perfect, as nature lovers we found the proximity to the Talybont reservoir appealing, and we found it an easy drive to the four falls hike, the Red kite feeding site, and a few castles! Thanks so much Clare!

    Lachlan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clare’s place was amazing, well-situates for exploring the Brecon Beacons and the house itself has everything you need and more! Very comfy beds and great shower.

  • Great location and all the home comforts you could ask for. The early morning visits from a herd of ponies were a real delight. Will definitely be back!

    Ann2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay! It’s a very well cared for, thoughtful space. Everything you could need and comfortable and cosy. Beautiful garden. A great location too. A real home from home (vs some disappointments I’ve had with air bnb recently! Has restored my faith somewhat!) Would definitely like to return!

    Shanker2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay with special appreciation for Clare’s caring attentiveness beginning from the initial communication to the final goodbye on checkout. A lovely peaceful spot with gracious hospitality and delicious pasture-fed eggs from Clare’s chickens.

    Joel2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay. I was over thinking the kitchen being away from the main accommodation but in the end it didn’t matter at all and actually it felt good to spend time in the separate kitchen space with the family. Clare was a perfect host and massively over delivered on providing Xmas decorations, supplied extra food shopping on our arrival, helpful tips on things to do. A very nice stay and everyone said they want to come again. Merry Xmas 😀

  • Fiona's place is the perfect space to spend some time in the countryside with your family! There are amazing views over the hills and its located within easy car access to the hiking trails and short walk down to the pubs and store. We all had a great time, including our little 6month old pup who had a blast playing with Fiona's dogs! Thank you for a lovely stay!

    Naomi2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful property set in a cute rural location. Fiona is a lovely host with a wealth of knowledge regarding the surrounding area. I would highly recommended this property, and will hopefully be back soon myself.

    James2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in an area that has a lot to offer - walking, cycling, canoeing etc. Fiona's accomodation is a short walk from pubs with good beer and an excellent Travellers Rest restaurant. The accomodation is very cosy and we found the under floor heating a real bonus as the weather was a bit damp on our trip. Walks directly from the house were lovely and you are only a short drive (20 minutes) from some great waterfall walks and Pen-y-fan etc. Lovely accomodation in a great spot.

*NB Min of 4 guests in holidays pls use contact host* A quirky converted Baptist Chapel in the Brecon Beacons, 15mins from Crickhowell and Abergavenny with a secret story and lots of sleeping options. Warm in winter with thick stone walls that are calming and quiet. This is a simple place to detox from busy lives. Cosy nights in front of the wood burner with friends or family. A place to read, play the piano, listen to music, sing, cook or just do nothing. Cycling, walking, from the door.
Hugh’s Chapel comprises of two self-contained but adjoining spaces, suited to a romantic or special weekend for two or a get together with family and friends, up to a maximum of 8 persons. We just let to a single group and expand the space available depending on the group size. By default for bookings up to four persons you will be in the main chapel. If you are a bigger group then we will expand out into the Sunday School area through the pulpit door which is normally kept locked. If you are four and particularly want both parts we are happy to discuss and the best thing to do is contact us through contact host option. Unfortunately its difficult to cover this flexibility within airbnb pricing system at present. We try and make it affordable for small and large groups. Hughs Chapel is the main part with the main double bedroom with lots of sleeping possibilities for fold out beds in the main chapel. There are lots of little corners if you want some time to yourself or to read a book. Its great acoustically and listening to music is wonderful. But its the feeling of those thick, calming stone walls that is really special and the light that comes in through the windows at different times of the day. Its simply furnished but comfortable. From that point of view its easy to relax into the feel of the Chapel. The Chapel’s story is also something unique but you will have to find that out for yourself! Through the adjoining pulpit door are the Sunday School Rooms which houses a double Bedroom with arched window and nice views, family bathroom with bath and shower, back door, stairs leading to upstairs third bedroom / living room with foldout double sofa bed and is spacious. Off that space is a small fully functioning kitchen with great views of the black mountains. There is a set of french doors onto a deck area with views of the black mountains that leads onto a private garden with trampoline. This area gets a nice drop of sunshine from late morning until the sun sets.
Friendly and welcoming, quiet apart from lots of sheep on the hills and cows in local farmers field so sounds very rural. You will be warmly welcomed into the local pubs You can hear the streams in the background. Very old industrial archaeology tramways, railways, quarry working, iron works hidden in every corner. Hidden valleys, beech woods, small waterfalls, lots of birdlife, Owls at night, Cuckoos, woodpeckers, peregrines. Despite this very good links to Abergavenny 15mins by car and only 25mins by bike downhill ! So good base to go and explore the rest of the National Park or further a field Cardiff, Gower Peninsula, Forest of Dean, Wye Valley.
  • Ivan is a fantastic host and hughs chapel is absolutely beautiful. It was storm Dennis so we just started in and played games (there are plenty in the house) in front of the log fire. It was a well deserved rest. Occasionally we looked outside but it was still raining - there are walks and cycle paths from the door . The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are very comfortable. My daughter loved her mezzanine hideout . We will be back soon we hope and next time in the sunshine !

  • Ivan is a great host. Thoughtful touches, excellent communication and a wonderful location. We were warm, comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. There was freshly baked bread awaiting us on arrival and plenty of firewood supplied for the couple of nights we were there. Lots of space and a well-equipped kitchen in a very special building. I have no reservations at all in thoroughly recommending Hugh's Cottage as a top notch destination.

    Carl2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, Ivan is so thoughful with fresh bread in the oven for us on arrival. He provided us with so much information regarding the local area!

    Hannah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The chapel is a stylish place with musical history located in the beautiful welsh countryside. Ivan was on hand to show us around, give local tips and had even baked bread for our arrival. We had a hugely productive and fun weekend in an inspirational setting! Would recommend!

    Tom2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovingly restored converted chapel in a beautiful location with plenty of walks right from the doorstep. We loved the property and felt very comfortable and warm during our winter weekend. Thanks Ivan!

  • Fabulous chapel with an interesting history.

Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, our place is perfect for walking, cycling and visiting the nearby Bleaenavon World Heritage sites including Big Pit, Blaenavon Ironworks and the Pontypool & Blaenavon Heritage Railway. The charming market town of Abergavenny is only 6 miles away and well worth a visit.
One bedroom with double bed and clothes rail. Shared use of bathroom, dining room and kitchen. The main benefit of staying with us is our location. Set in the Brecon Beacons, in the village of Llanelly Hill, it is a perfect place for those who want to discover the unique beauty of the area, as well as those interested in industrial history and archaeology.
We feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world. The area has loads of walks and trails and plenty of cycle tracks. We are about 3 miles from the World Heritage site of Blaenavon, a must see for anyone interested in industrial history. Although we no longer have a village shop, there are plenty of shops in Brynmawr, just a couple of miles away. There is a village pub - The Jolly Collier - just 500 metres away. It serves food but only on a Wednesday, Thursday (Tapas night) Friday & Saturday - 6-9 and on Saturday and Sunday lunch 12 - 2.30. It is a lovely friendly place and the food is excellent. Would advise to make a reservation as it is only a small place and gets booked very quickly. I am happy to book for anyone who would like to eat there. The Racehorse Inn is relatively close, and although it can be done on foot, the hill up to it is very steep. They are open every night from 6.30 for meals and serve Sunday lunch 12-3. Again I can make bookings on guests behalf. The Bridgend Inn, in the nearby town of Brynmawr, is another good place to eat. Regular Menu served Monday-Saturday 12 -9pm. Sunday lunch 12 - 4. Happy to book on guests behalf

  • Barbara is a Lovely host who clearly really cares about everyone who stays here A brilliant place to stay too, great location and lots of touches which give it a nice home feeling Can’t fault it at all, lovely person, lovely place

    Christopher2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • You will get a warm welcome From Barbara. The accommodation shares a front door and stairway, but elsewise is self contained, and Barbara is happy to let you decide how much contact, if any, there is. There is a fridge/freezer, kettle and microwave which we found perfect for our needs. There are local pubs that serve food, more choice is available at either Abergavenny or Crickhowel. The canal that goes through Gilwern provides a relatively flat walking surface and way to enjoy the countryside as an alternative to climbing the many local steep hills.

    Vince2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Cwtch is a real find - extremely good value accommodation of a high standard. Barbara is a friendly and helpful host and there is nothing she has not thought of to make the Cwtch a welcoming and comfortable place to stay - I look forward to returning again in the Summer 😊

    Lesley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful find. The Cwtch has everything we needed. It was clean and warm with comfy beds and plenty of hot water for showers. Tea, coffee and milk were provided, as well as yummy welsh cakes. Barbara is a welcoming and helpful host. Our stay was fantastic value for money and we would highly recommend The Cwtch.

Quaint and cosy two-bedroomed cottage in the village of Nantyglo in the South Wales Valleys. We've introduced lots of exciting new discounts for 2020! There's a 10% early bird discount if booking 6 months ahead, 10% off for bookings of 7 days or more, and a low-occupancy discount for smaller groups. Travel cot, high chair and toys are available at no extra charge. We can also supply pet crates at no charge. Please request when booking (no more than one large dog or two small dogs please).
The space is decorated in a cosy cottage style, with a lounge and small fitted kitchen downstairs, and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The kitchen has both a fridge and a freezer, a full-size gas cooker, sink, kettle and ample cutlery and crockery. Upstairs there is a twin room and a small double, and in the lounge downstairs there is a sofa bed. (With the sofa bed and travel cot, the cottage can potentially sleep up to seven, including children and infants, but please note that there is just one bathroom in the property and the living spaces are quite small.) There is a small flight of steps up to the front door and the stairs up to the bedrooms and bathroom are quite narrow. Therefore access for disabled guests is limited. (Please consider booking our other property, Aderyn Mawr in Blaina, if you or a member of your party has disabilities, as this may be more suitable.)
Once one of the most important iron-producing centres in the world, Nantyglo is situated close to the famous Brecon Beacons National Park, popular with walkers and cyclists for its dramatic scenery and challenging terrain. Venture further afield and you can visit the market town of Abergavenny to the east, or Caerphilly to the south - famous for its cheese and its impressive medieval castle. Or you can also explore Welsh history through a visit to Big Pit National Coal Museum, part of the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape which is a World Heritage Site. The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway and Brecon Mountain Railway are nearby.
  • Excellent value cottage will plentiful amenities and brilliant communication. Would not hesitate to recommend to others. Thanks for a great stay.

Nothing is to much trouble where Les is concerned and will go out of his way to make your stay a good one. Privacy is respected and you will feel very secure. It’s a good location, there is a convince store, pubs and chip shop near by and you’re not far from Tredegar town or well anywhere really. I would stay here again.

  • Les was fantastic and accepted our last minute request swiftly. He has a lovely home as advertised and we we also got to do some washing which Les laid out for us in the morning. Thanks so much!

    Nichola2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Les' communication beforehand was great and meant that access & check in were easy. Some nice touches with breakfast options being included, as well as drinks and snacks left in our room. Plus information on local shops, places to eat, etc. Les also lets guest access washing machine facilities. For Di & me Les' place was ideally placed to access an event at Parc Bryn Bach and we'd definitely look to stay there again id we were heading to that area. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to go to stuff in that area. As a host Les will make you welcome and make sure you are comfortable.

  • James' Place was amazing. It is stylish and well throughout regarding layout and amenities. A stones through from a shop and local pub. Great TV to chill out to Netflix with and little desk for work. All in all some very clever touches to a cosy room.

    Mark2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really fantastic. James was thorough in his directions when the map can be temperamental. There were lovely little touches that made us feel really welcome when we got to the place itself. Really clean and organised to boot. The wi-fi was on the spotty side but that's the only thing I wasn't expecting. Everything else was flawless for the price. Great place and thanks fo the stay!

  • Nice, stylish, spotless and characteristically modern little patch of home that offers free parking. Close to Rhydcar Leisure Centre where you can find franchise restaurants such as Nando’s and Frankie & Benny’s, as well as entertainment such as a Vue cinema and about 20 mins drive from the picturesque Waterfall Country, great for a day out hiking. A 45 minute evening trip if you’re interested in having dinner in Cardiff City Centre as we were. Would very much elect to stay here again in the near future.

  • Lovely 2 night stay here, the apartment is stylishly designed and furnished and had everything we needed. It was clean, the bed was very comfy and there were nice little touches of Welsh cakes, milk and chocolates waiting for us on arrival. We could hear others moving around the building but it was generally quiet enough. Overall a good little spot for exploring the Brecon Beacons!

  • 4 of us were heading up to Bike Park Wales and Black Mountain Cycle Center for my 23rd Birthday so we needed a place to crash. I found James’s Place while looking around and thought it was exactly what we were looking for. We checked in with a self check in code which was awesome so we could arrive at a time that suited us between 3-12. There’s also a car park which we could park in and Check in was super easy and well planned. We stayed in flat one which was very quirky and made us feel at home straight away ! We was greeted by James’s mothers cakes which were one of the best we’ve ever tasted and I was also greeted with a birthday card and some chocolates by the team at James’s place . Very clean and tidy and also have ya some little things like tea , coffee and milk which was great after a 3 hour drive. Finally james place is outstanding for the fact my partner left his track pump in the flat and posted the keys , so we phoned James’s place up and he sorted it out straight away and allowed us to get it back , that’s what you call a super host ! We will defiantly be coming back Thank you James’s Place

    Cari2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at James place for 2 nights on valentines weekend in order to explore the Brecon Beacon and the apartment was in the perfect location for that. The self check in was super simple and we found the flat to be very clean and had all the things one would need for a short stay. There was also a lovely extra of a valentines rose:) thank you James for that! The parking is on street and there was always a space right in front of the flats. Excellent stay!

  • James' Place is super cool. It has loads of character and some really nice touches. It was a little gemstone that happened to be on the way to where we were going. The village it's self isn't up to much but we did find a cool little tapas pub. It wasn't serving food at the time but we stayed for a drink and had a chat with a few local characters. Great value for money. Thanks James.

Luxury Cabin is actually a hot tub room that came with the house - used the hot tub twice and stuck the thing on Ebay . Cabin has wifi , power, heating , a Tv and loads of DVD's . There is a double bed. There is an adjacent basic kitchen and a rustic WC and shower . The garden here is massive and full of poultry . We are in the wilderness of South Wales so if you visit in January bring a coat. Whilst the cabin is not the Savoy we are at least friendly.
Think of the cabin like comfortable camping with a bed electricity wifi and heating - and no packing up !
Holly Tree cottage is located in the south wales valleys on the edge of the Brecon Beacons - there are some fantastic cycle tracks around here and Garn Motorcycles (where Richie works) hire out push bikes so if you fancy cycling about let us know before you are coming and we can sort bikes out for you

  • Desperately needed a little get away! And we hit Jackpot!!! This was PERFECT! We only stayed for the night and it was a stormy rainy night at that, absolutely amazing nostalgic feeling with the rain and wind thrashing around the shed, it wasn’t to loud or anything because it’s fairly sheltered anyway! Was just perfect and cosy. We didn’t expect all the little extras either! And it was so well kitted out, warm inside, electric blanket, drinks and snacks, ‘kettle!’ TV & DVD player with an epic selection to choose from! We drove to a local pub for food and it was 10/10, everyone in the area was lovely and hospitable! The hosts were such friendly salt of the earth people, literally made you feel at home, so welcoming and attentive. We got to help ourselves in the little out kitchen and make Breakfast in the morning, we were joined by some lovely majestic Turkeys, hilarious hens, the cuuuuutest cats and even a random sheep! We’re going back! We recommend it, and for those who love the country, love that outdoors vibe and raw earthy feel, this is for you! Book now, enjoy as much as we did :-) Thanks again so much Rich and Hester. See you soon x x

  • Richard is definitely one of the best Airbnb host I have ever met very nice and friendly. And the cabin is cozy too. The location is a bit hard to find just don’t follow the direction that Airbnb or Google map told you to.

The Studio is a quiet and cosy detached retreat on an exclusive development yet it is situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of Crickhowell with its tourist office and many interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The Studio was newly let in late 2017 with fresh decoration, kitchen, fixtures, fittings and carpets. The mezzanine bedroom has a comfortable King sized bed.
Full gas boiler central heating/ hot water and highly insulated walls and loft make The Studio a really cosy retreat. Return from a day in the Brecon Beacons to a well equipped interior which includes: Smart LED TV with Freeview, YouTube etc/ Unlimited Fast Fibre broadband/ WiFi / DVD Player/ DAB Radio with Bluetooth speaker facility/ 4G Mobile Signal. Books, games, magazines, DVD box sets and movies provided. New for 2019 is a G00GLE Home Mini to answer questions about the locality. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, together with a Welcome Pack consisting of bread, jams, Welsh Cakes, milk, orange juice, chocolates (and a nice bottle of wine for stays of 7 days or more). The bedroom has a King sized bed, Smart TV, large chest of drawers and a clothes rail with hangers. The double garage offers secure parking for a car, motorbikes, mountain bikes, kayaks and canoes. It also houses a Washer dryer and freezer. Unfortunately due to its design, with spiral staircase and mezzanine bedroom with low window ledges, the property is not suitable for the disabled or children under 10 . Sorry no animals allowed. The Studio is strictly a no smoking property and the hosts would appreciate it if guests took off dirty shoes and boots at the door.
Crickhowell is a popular tourist destination in Mid Wales. • Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. Astounding views just outside the conveniences of the city. You really feel like you are a world away, with footpaths to take you further upwards for even more breathtaking sights without ever taking you too far from the comforts of these lovely accommodations. We (me and my dog) had a lovely restful time. Only wish we had more of it to walk the hills about more as I had to forgo some unexplored paths for the sake of work. Still, it’s a pleasure to get to catch up on emails from a place as lovely as this.

  • What an absolutely awesome place! As locations go to doesn't get much better than this. A cosy little cottage on a real working farm surrounded by stunning scenery and run by the nicest, friendliest couple who had loads of local knowledge and helpful tips to make the most of the area. Top notch, highly recommended!

    Jonny2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cosy home, perfect for getting space from the outside world. We loved that there was no signal, but a gorgeous fireplace and snuggly sofa with plush blankets instead. Little treats and extra details really made it the loveliest place for us to rest before and after a big Brecon Beacons walk which we reached right from the front door. Thank you!

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Got a dog? Love walking? Not terrified at the thought of no phone, TV or wifi? This is the place for you. A warm welcoming fire, all the amenities you need for a basic walking break. Make sure you have a book or your paints for the evenings and you will be out all day admiring the amazing scenery. Local pubs provide food but we stocked up with our own food and didn't need to go anywhere near civilisation!

    Nicole2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Utter animal heaven. It was so wonderful I plan to come back every year. I adored the location, the views were amazing. The animals were the best and the owners are simply wonderful people. We even got to see a just born lamb. This will always be my happy place.

  • Absolutely lovely hosts and the place was completely spotless. Had a lovely stay, and we’ll miss Mabel the sheep.

  • ⭐️Amazing communication from host. Sent loads of useful information of directions for getting to the lodge. ⭐️such cute personal touches, daffodils, wood for the log burner, brioche, biscuits and doggy treats all in arrival. ⭐️sparkling clean, neat, tidy and pristine. ⭐️kitchen has everything you need, there is even a slow cooker. ⭐️I was concerned about the lack of phone signal, tv signal and no WiFi but it actually turned out to be the. Eat thing ever. We watched about 4 DVD’s and it felt lovely to be “off the grid” for a while! ⭐️we didn’t take children but this place is child friendly. ⭐️would definitely stay again and recommend to all!

    Eleanor2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Morris and Felicity are delightful hosts as are their array of pet farm animals. The space was absolutely perfect for us and the location stunning. Good luck to M and F with the farming ventures and hope we can return some day.

    Jimena2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start ? The communication from Felicity was perfect and prompt, giving me all the information and directions that were spot on. The location was second to none, the added touch of the meet and greet to the animals on the farm really made our weekend. We have 2 dogs and I dont think we could of picked a more accomodating host. Felicity recommended the 3 peaks walk for us and it was spot on distance and time wise! Having the area out the back of the farm to give the dogs a run in the morning is a god send as they are active. To sum up, if you are looking for somewhere to stay, off grid, no signal, a few DVDs, a place the reconnect and reassess, look no further ! The most helpful host you could ask for in the most perfect spot, made for a PERFECT weekend!

  • We had a wonderful stay and were thoroughly pleased with the facilities. All the staff were very friendly and polite, furthermore the guest areas were cosy and well maintained. Our room was huge, very clean and we were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary Welsh cakes, tea and coffee. Their was a jacuzzi bath and a shower in the bathroom area. We didn’t opt in for breakfast, but it looked delightful and if the rest of the facilities were anything to go by, would have been well worth it. We would definitely stay again and can say the photos simply don’t do it justice... well worth every penny and more.

Blaenavon is an old village and used to be a mining and ironworks area. There are museums and many attractions in the area depicting these industries. It's also in the Brecon Becon national park with a great many walking trails and out door activities
  • Lovely little miner's cottage, centrally located to walk into town and many of Blaenavon's attractions, but also easy to get into the National Park or a trip to Cardiff. Well equipped cottage with many thoughtful extras which take it above the ordinary.

  • Unfortunately due to our dog being unwell we had to cancel last minute so didn’t actually get a chance to stay but Josephine’s communication, understanding and response time to questions was excellent. May rebook for future:)

  • A real gem. Warm and cosy and immaculately clean. Close to shops and two really excellent restaurants. Josephine responded really quickly to any queries we had and our dog Charlie was also made to feel welcome, with a dog basket and toys provided! Would highly recommend

  • A well furnished cottage in a nice location. Ideal base for a short trip away.

    Nick2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Josephine’s cottage has everything you need for a walking trip to Wales. It’s a warm and cosy home with a nice fire in the family room. There’s a clean and tidy kitchen with all basic equipment needed to prepare meals, has a great shower, and comfy beds. The village has plenty of interesting places to visit, Big Pit and the Iron Works being particular favourites. With good basic shops and supermarkets near by.

    Anita2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a pleasant surprise in the heart of Blaenavon with wonderful outdoor drives and activities for the family. The host was very quick with communication and support where needed. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Josephine.

Gaer Cottage is one of two cottages converted from a stone barn built in the 18th century. This peaceful retreat is set in 45 acres of ancient meadow and woodland in the foothills of the Black Mountains within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Gaer cottage is surrounded by woodland and nature. It is lovely to be able to walk out of your front door on to private peaceful paths and to explore the countryside. Enjoy birdsong during the day and starry skies at night.
Gaer cottage is in a secluded valley in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is on National Cycle Route 42 and close to the Cwm Coed-y-Cerrig Nature Reserve. Good local pubs include the Crown at Pantygelli and excellent restaurants can be found in Abergavenny - which also hosts an annual food festival.
  • The Gaer was a lovely cottage and very conveniently location. The cottage was clean, warm and very well set up. Belinda was a lovely host and extremely helpful! Would highly recommend

  • Photos does not do this place justice! Beautiful little cottage, which felt bigger in person than on the photos. Plenty of room for us to get around the table in the kitchen. Fresh cake and eggs on arrival. Lots of gorgeous scenery to explore, really recommend climbing to the top of the mountain. Fantastic views at the top! Our dog loved it and even had a spare field for him to roam around in. Five stars. Hopefully be returning soon!

  • Peace and quiet, comfortable and clean. Lovely hosts.

    Sarah2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, both hosts were friendly & helpful, & a delicious cake was waiting in the fridge! The location is perfect for exploring the area, & relaxing there with the chickens. A peaceful, quiet spot, comfortable house & spotlessly clean. I love the area so will definitely be going back to Gaer Cottage again next time.

    Tracy2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was so close to us and yet we felt we were in the middle of nowhere! We shall definitely return soon.

    Alison2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do the cottage justice, it was a really homely space to stay in. The woodlands and gardens are fantastic, and there is so much to do close by to do.

    Michelle2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Gaer Cottage, we received 6 free range chicken eggs and a freshly baked cake upon arrival! There are some amazing walks in all directions, including one that begins right from the back of the grounds and another just across the road. There is a small shop & 2 dog friendly pubs with food & drink within a 5 minute drive or 30/40 minute walk. Gaer is also dog friendly & Belinda was an amazing host, she made us feel all feel very welcome. We will definitely be visiting again!

    Rowan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful host, top quality accommodation and comfort. Well equipped kitchen, where we were fine with four around the table enjoying those super fresh eggs straight from the chickens! The home made welcome cake was delicious too. Wonderful location as a base for walking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Very dog friendly. Can't fault this stay and can't wait to come back!

My house is a small terraced house in Ebbw Vale, it has three bedrooms and a downstairs bathroom, which is not unusual in Wales. The house has recently been refurbished with new heating system and a new fitted kitchen which can be shared.
The room available is the largest bedroom at 15 ft long and about 11 ft wide, it has two windows, a king-size bed which is new, a chest of drawers and hanging space. There is a TV with an Apple box which will allow you to access your Netflix, Prime or Apple viewing accounts, there is no terrestrial TV, but you are welcome to borrow from my video library as there is also a DVD player attached. I have a small garden and a garage, I am able to provide visitors who are cycling, room in the garage to store their bikes, there may also be room fora standard motorbike. My house is dog friendly for well-behaved dogs as I have a small dog myself
My street is handy for the town centre, but far enough away not to hear it. Morgans wine bar is close which has a good reputation for food.

    Gary2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris is a great host! He is very welcoming and really makes an effort to make sure people are comfortable. He is friendly and open in a very Welsh way! My only advice would be to put the heating on automatic for when he is not there in the evening-as the house was cold. The house is super clean and pleasant and so is the room. Chris also has a great coffee machine and is happy for guests to use the kitchen. I would definitely recommend Chris and wouldn't hesitate to stay with him again in the future.

    Natalie2018-04-25T00:00:00Z

  • Chris is a smashing host - friendly, welcomed me with a mug of tea, no rush chat and free run of all the facilities I needed on a 2-night stay. Easy to find, easy parking, spacious, light room with ample place for clothes. Very comfy bed, quiet neighbourhood, bathroom right next door. Everything was clean and tidy, I felt very welcome to sit and chat, eat, watch TV, join in on what's going on. Just like staying with a good friend!
