  • Great place to rest after a long day of traveling. The view of the fall foliage and the sunrise from the balcony was incredible. Plus the pillows were amazing! That may seem random but after a week of flat, useless pillows, these were much appreciated!

  • Mark and Susan were incredible hosts. They were very kind and helpful and have a great sense of humor. Their rooms were clean and spacious and the views from our deck were extraordinary! We had a delightful experience and look forward to returning here in May.

  • This was one of the best places we ever stayed at in terms of airbnb. Everything is there what you need and then some! Many thoughtful details make the stay extremely comfortable, and the views out of the windows are simply amazing! Everything is super quiet at night, the bed is perfect, so you get a good night's sleep. Mark and Susan are extra friendly, attentive hosts. Definitely highly recommendable!

  • Our stay at Katherine's place was great! The loft was comfortable, cozy, clean, and conveniently located directly across from the US border in downtown Saint Stephen, with a river view. The apartment was well equipped with a microwave/convection oven combo, cook top, fridge, new washer and dryer, dishes/cutlery/cookware, Keurig, and an extremely comfortable bed! Katherine was an amazing host, always responded promptly, and even decorated the loft with a tree, poinsettia, and wreath prior to our holiday arrival! She went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and we would definitely book again! Highly recommended!

Step away from the cell phone, computer and hustle of life and relax in the beauty of the Maine woods and waters. Take a deep breath of pine or balsam ladened air .The fishing is some of the best in the state with bass, perch and landlocked salmon to name a few. Bring your boat or kayak to wander the lake which adjoins other lakes and the Grand Falls Flowage. Grand Lake Stream for fly fishing is 12 miles away. Or bring your snow mobile and enjoy the many trails nearby in this part of the state.
This cabin is my second home and I ask you to treasure it with respect and care as I do. There is no smoking allowed on the property and though I do have pets ( in case of allergy issues for guests) I ask you to leave yours at home. There is a large outdoor fireplace or a grill for cookouts. In town, 1 mile away, is a very nice grocery store (with LOBSTER and clams) and an Ace hardware should you need a license to fish. There are 7 acres with this house but if you're not familiar with the woods stay within sight of the cabin. The woods are thick and we do have bear, lynx, bobcats and moose. As you come down the driveway and face the lake my land runs to the right of the cabin. The property line is very close to the house on the left and that neighbor likes his privacy. All of my neighbors like their peace and quiet so we ask you to not run any 4 wheelers or motorcycles up and down the driveway. You are apt to hear the loons, eagles and owls frequently, especially in the early morning or evening hours. Also the Milkyway and shooting stars are frequently seen in the clear night air.

  • We really enjoyed our visit to Gramp’s Camp! It was very cozy and comfortable. We saw deer and turkey and enjoyed being outside. Will definitely visit again.

  • The cabin was nicer than we expected. We went in cold weather and it was warm, no drafts, very comfortable. It was on a pristine lake, beautiful. Very comfortable beds. We all loved the time we had. The town was close enough, convenient but still felt we were in the wilderness.

  • Quiet, clean, and cozy. Very Secluded, and next to the lake, it was very comforting to come back to at the end of a long day.

  • I spent weeks searching Airbnb for the perfect peaceful get away to take my husband on for our wedding anniversary. Our stay at Gramps camp was exactly all that I was hoping for. We had the best time relaxing & traveling around the area. So much beauty to soak in! Kathy was a fantastic host. She was responsive and so helpful. We loved absolutely everything about our stay and cannot wait until our next visit.

Hi! Welcome to our home on Magurrewock Mountain. Our house is conveniently located just off Route 1 but is surrounded by thousands of acres of woodland. You can see Canada and the Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge from the deck chairs on the patio. The AirBnB unit is in our finished daylight basement, which previously served as our guest bedroom and game room. The AirBnB stays cool in the summer. It has its own thermostat and radiant floor heating so it stays nice and cozy all year round.
The AirBnB has many windows and French doors facing south and west, so the unit has lots of natural light. The unit is carpeted, except the bathroom which is tile. The unit consists of one big room plus the bathroom. It has a new pillow top queen bed, another new queen bed, a sofa, loveseat, table, desk, chairs, tv, dorm fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, and hot pot. Portable air beds with headboards are also available for your use if you need them, kept in the bathroom closet. The bathroom is a full bath.
We are immediately adjacent to Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. You can see the wetlands of Moosehorn, the St. Croix River, and Canada from our deck and patio. We often have wildlife in the yard, such as deer, snowshoe hares, and many species of birds. We are located about 3 miles from the center ofCalais and 3 border crossings into New Brunswick, Canada.

  • Ray's place in Calais is a real find for us! The Airbnb unit is the bottom floor of Ray's lovely home in the woods. The yard is beautiful with a great view for sunsets, and the unit is clean, carpeted and fully equipped for 4 people! (There were only two of us.) There is a loveseat with a view, a couch with a TV, a little food prep and eating area, and a nice big bathroom. Ray is also the most organized host we've had. Everything from approaching the home to how to use the shower is clearly marked. We couldn't have had a more comfortable evening!

A spacious one of a kind cabin perched on a red pine bluff overlooking a picturesque loon lake with excellent fishing. Day trip to scenic coast for lobster! -lakefront porch -private dock -hammock -canoe -peaceful
A unique and spacious wood cabin designed and built by my brother with a beautiful cathedral ceiling on a very special red pine bluff. The cabin has a large loft and two private bedrooms with two bathrooms. The large kitchen provides the perfect place to cook and is stocked with everything you might need, including a large pot for lobster. Throughout the years we have added small amenities like a coffee pot and a bullet blender. Our large dining table is perfect for large family dinners or game nights (we have games and puzzles). Beach towels, bath towels, linens, soap, dishwasher are provided. A laundromat is close by. Lake Pocomoonshine has cabins only along one shoreline, limiting lake use; boats are either canoes, kayaks or fishing boats. The lake is located in the more remote NE corner of Maine. We will provide you with a map of the lake, including favorite fishing reef/holes and a lovely boat trip through a main stream which connects to 3 other lakes (2 pristine lakes and a larger lake with scattered cabins). If that is not enough to keep you busy exploring there is a wildlife refuge nearby. Take a day trip to the Maine coast or Canada. We love Cutler Harbor where the Little Lobster Company lets you choose your lobster fresh out of the salt water. For those ready to simply relax we suggest watching the sunset from the front porch, reading in the hammock, fishing/swimming off the dock or rocky shoreline, and observing the abundant wildlife: eagles, moose, loons, beaver, mink, kingfisher, hummingbirds. In the evenings use the fire pit on the ledge over looking the lake and listen to the loons. You are welcome to bring a fishing boat--public landing just down the road and private dock is yours. Dock chairs available for use. Boat cushions available, but bring your own lifejackets. Cabin is available June through September. June has great fishing but is "buggy". July and August provide all the best of summer (August is usually blueberry season!) and September is beautiful ...part summer/part fall with leaves beginning to turn the end of the month. Woodstove and fire wood for cooler days.
There are numerous nesting pairs of loons on the lake, which indicates the pristine water and beauty of the sights and sounds of a true pristine Maine lake. Neighbors on either side are not there all summer, giving you a quiet, private and relaxing experience.
  • Loved every moment at this cabin!! Perfect place to make memories with family on a beautiful lake. We kayaked, canoed, fished, and swam from sunrise to sunset. Fire pit was a great way to end the evening listening to the loons and owls. Coastal day trips were less than an hour away. Grocery shopping and coffee/donut trips were 20 minutes away with beautiful scenery on the way. Thankful for the adventure on Pocomoonshine Lake.

  • Beautiful spot on the edge of the lake. Great bass fishing from a kayak or boat.

    Jordan2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! The location was perfect - plenty of peace and quiet and only a short drive to the coast for day adventures! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous inside and out, rustic and open! We enjoyed eating our meals right on the porch looking at the beautiful lake view and sunsets! We had questions about using the canoe and the hosts were very quick to respond and have someone get it down to the dock for us. We would definitely love to come back again in the future!

    Kate2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed this beautiful and spacious rustic camp on Pocomoonshine Lake. It has enough room for families with children and the location with the sun setting just across the lake is idyllic. The kitchen has all pots and pans and dishes that you need to cook, and a working gas grill. Great escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

    Anj & Samir2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was fantastic and the lake was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. Our kids had a blast swimming, fishing and kayaking in the lake. We couldn’t have asked for a better sunset and a quiet place to vacation. We definitely plan to return for future vacations.

Traditional New England home in the heart of Grand Lake Stream. 100 feet from one of America's best trout/salmon stream with dozens of pristine lakes to fish small mouth bass, pickerel and trout. Adjacent to Weatherby's Lodge with Orvis fly shop and guiding available.
  • Awesome place to stay, very close to the river, Jeff was very nice and easy to deal with! Highly recommended!

  • Grand lake stream is a great little town located in northern Maine. A paradise for firshermen, but also a great spot for nature lovers in general - like us. Jeff house is located downtown, right in front of the convenient store, right next to the river, and at a walking distance from the lake. The house is a charming old house with 5 beds and plenty of space to accommodate a large family or a group of friends. Jeff was very welcoming and gave us some great tips. We would love to come back again.

This clean house is a very spacious 19th Century Victorian style home. The architecture is beautiful and original tin ceilings from 1897 grace the kitchen and dining area. Guests may enjoy a large deck overlooking the gardens and tea, coffee, cereal, fruit, muffins or bagels are available for my guests in the morning. A quiet serenity envelopes this property and there are great views of the River. There are walking trails along the waterfront and this home is close to the USA border crossing.
This is my home and I really try to be present (practicing social distancing) when people would like to chat. I am aware of the need for the house to be sanitized thoroughly and you will find all measures taken to enable my home to be as clean as possible during this pandemic. St. Stephen is a wonderfully warm and friendly town. I am just a few blocks from the center of town. You will love it here! Guests can enjoy a quiet and private space as well as a friendly, safe, and clean environment.
The neighborhood is very safe, in fact I am across the street from the local RCMP department and the Canadian customs and border control is within walking distance
  • As other reviews mention, Karen is a gracious host. I arrived two fresh baked carrot muffins. The bed was koozie and I had no issues falling asleep. The room and bathroom are sparkling clean and wonderfully decorated with thoughtful amenities. I'll definitely book with Karen again.

  • Karen’s home is a nice stay. She is very pleasant and makes you feel welcomed. The home is well cared for and it has the charm of an antique home. The bedroom and bathroom are neat and the shower is hot! Very close to boarder crossing and a short walk into town. I stayed there while traveling for work and it’s a good resting spot.

    Corinne2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was the perfect host - she was there to greet us when we arrived, made us feel very welcome, showed us to our room and gave us a great suggestion for that evenings dinner which was super yummy - her home was spotlessly clean, our room and bathroom were very private and very tastefully appointed - the linens and towels were very high quality and cozy - she offered us many different breakfast choices in a lovely setting in her home which was totally unexpected and much appreciated - as we have stayed in many AirBNB’s over the years, we would definitely rate Karen’s as an A+++

Unique, Special, Authentic Maine Woods Experience! Enjoy this rustic bunkhouse located just steps off the shore of one of Maine's cleanest spring-fed lakes. Good for couples, families, large groups, retreats and more. Tune in to the nature of the Great North Woods to enjoy hiking, boating, fishing (salmon, trout and bass), swimming, kayaking, mushroom hunting and gorgeous sunsets. Full kitchen, living room, upstairs bedroom sleeps 8, large deck/terrace leads right down to the water.
Rare experience to be in "Unorganized Territory" of Maine, on a crystal clear lake that has limited development (it's now part of a conservation easement). The Bunkhouse is owned by The BARKA Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization that drills wells, constructs latrines, and empowers women and girls in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Funds from the rental of the Bunkhouse go directly to helping BARKA fulfill its mission! Check out more information at https://barkafoundation.org.
We are part of a small community of camp owners on the lake. The lake is roughly 2 miles by 1 mile. We simply ask that you be respectful and conscientious at all times. Please stay within the boundaries of the Bunkhouse property. There is a short path to our camp if you need to come and get us for any reason or to access the paddleboat or kayak.
  • Great place to unplug and enjoy the beauty of Maine.

  • This was the closest darkest point on a light pollution map we were using as a guide to find somewhere to stargaze. We were blown away with our view! Saw several shooting stars and a clear view of the milky way. Perfect private spot for a weekend away. Highly recommend!

  • We had an amazing weekend with kids at the Bunkhouse. Everything we needed was provided and Esu made sure to check in so if we needed anything we could reach out. It was a quiet and fun getaway. We hope to come back and visit the lake and duck family again soon!

  • Perfect place if you're trying to get away from things! Beautiful house, refreshing lake, and outstanding hosts. Even the drive up is an adventure but dont let it intimidate you because it's absolutely worth it. Will definitely be back

    Sheldon2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was all we wanted for a quiet relaxing weekend. You'll have access to both the lake and hiking trails around the house. The location isn't necessarily the easiest to access but it is to be expected when you decide to spend time in the nature. Definitely try to arrive before sunset and have an offline map of the area with you. We couldn't get there before sunset and it got a little more difficult for us to find the location. Esu had sent us a very detailed address and we had offline map of the area, so it was impossible to get lost. When we arrived at around 8 p.m., Ina was sitting at the entrance, waiting for us! Read all the explanation in the listing, I think you can find all you need to know there. If you have any questions, you can contact Esu and Ina before and after reservation. They were nice and helpful. They live right next door and are always available if you have any problems, which is amazing when you are in such a location. We also had our privacy the whole time though. The house is big enough for 8 people to sleep and has enough space for gathering and dining both indoor and outdoor. It is definitely a place to consider if you want to travel to Maine!

  • We had the most wonderful stay at Nick’s cabin. It was so beautiful and the managers, Betty and Larry, were the sweetest people. The cabin was so clean and completely stocked with everything we needed. Can’t wait to visit again.

    Tammy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Woods cabin. It was updated and very cozy and comfortable. The view of the lake from the living room/kitchen window was fantastic. There's a fire ring and a private dock for each cabin. The beds are comfortable, and although the bedrooms are tight, we didn't spend much time in the bedrooms. There were nice extra touches, like charcoal was provided, a mifi device (although we didn't need it because we got 3 bars and 4G on our Verizon and Spectrum phones), binoculars, and a gas fireplace that was so nice when the evening chill set in. The managers were very friendly. We just about had the lake to ourselves. Everything is on one floor. We loved this place!

    Phyllis2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in an awesome location. Very clean and cozy, if I’m in the area again I’ll definitely stay here!

    Brian2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was remarkably charming, and greatly exceeded our expectations. There are 4-5 cabins all in a row right on the water of Pocomoonshine Lake. All have amazing views, beautifully updated, and well maintained. Everything was clean inside, and we literally had to bring nothing but clothes and food. The kitchen was stocked with all the simple necessities you'd need, towels and linens were fresh and clean, and the beds were remarkably comfortable. The cabin has a small gas stove in the living room and a portable air conditioner! Which was nice on one of the nights that got unseasonably muggy. The caretakers, Larry and Betty, were amazing and really made our young family feel welcome. If you happen to visit in the late summer or fall, there's an apple tree just across the path and was great for mid-day snack. We hope to be back again soon.

  • We stayed at the “The Woods” cabin at the Hideaway. It is such a beautiful, peaceful spot. The camp had everything we needed & more. It was cozy and welcoming. The caretakers were helpful and kind.

  • An amazing spot on a pretty secluded lake. We had a great time relaxing and swimming off the dock. The screen porch was an awesome place to get respite from the bugs. The loons song in the evening overcomes the whole lake. We had a wonderful time!!

  • Katherine greeted us and showed us her beautiful place over looking the river. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the tide raise and fall in the river. Everything inside was new including a washer and dryer. Little extras on the walls made us feel welcomed. We would highly recommend this place, and would stay again if we were in this area. Thanks Katherine!

Covid-19: With the province of New Brunswick under a State of Emergency, and the US border closed, we are not opening The Yellow House until further notice. We hope to be able to welcome visitors by the summer, providing the situation has changed. Meanwhile, we will continue to monitor the state of progress of the shut-down and act accordingly. Thanks for your understanding.
You will be staying in the Fundy Room, one of our two spacious guest rooms upstairs. The room has an ensuite bathroom, polished hardwood floors, queen size bed, individual temperature control, window air-conditioner, a mini-fridge and a comfortable arm chair and antique desk. It has ample closet space and WiFi is available throughout the house. The room is cool and shady, with large, leafy maple trees outside both south-facing, and west-facing windows, providing shade from the evening sun in summer. Downstairs in the large dining/sitting room, a Keurig coffee/latte maker is available for your use all day. We’ll provide breakfast each morning, with your choice of bread and croissants, cereals, yogurt, cheese and hard-boiled eggs, as well as coffee, tea and juice. If you have any special dietary requirements, let us know in advance, and we'll do our best to accommodate you. When you drive into the yard, turn to the left and park facing the house, leaving a space for another car beside you and leaving the driveway to the garage clear. Walk across the gravel paths to the main hall door, on the verandah. This is your own entrance, separate from ours, with keypad access. We’ll give you a code for the duration of your stay, so you can come and go as you please. You’ll also have your own key to lock your bedroom. Please note: Check-out by 11 am.
The house is situated no more than 300 metres from the downtown Calais border crossing, a great convenience if you’ve just crossed into Canada after a long drive through Maine, or are making a final stop before crossing into the US. We’re within walking distance of all of St. Stephen’s main amenities – a popular little coffee shop, ‘Something’s Brewing’, on the river bank for your mid-morning break, a handful of restaurants and fast food outlets for lunch or dinner, three banks, a post office, the famous Ganong Chocolate Shop and Museum, and the Garcelon Civic Centre, where you can book a swim in the indoor pool, enjoy a skating session in winter, or walk or jog on the padded indoor walking track. In warm sunny weather, you’ll love to walk the waterside trail, which hugs the St. Croix River for a few kilometres through town and beyond.
  • Very nice and comfortable

  • Carol and Alex were wonderful hosts and I very much enjoyed my stay in their lovely house. I had total privacy and the location was very convenient - a short walk from restaurants and shops and very close to the border - I had an appointment in Calais the next morning and it could not have been easier to get there and through Customs in plenty of time.

    Maggy2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Carol & Alex place is a charming, clean and peaceful place. I was in travelling between Magdalen Islands and Montréal so that was the perfect stop for a good night of sleep. Would have loved to spend more time there.

Our eight modern, clean, and spacious log cabins sleep up to 7 people and have an open floor plan and loft. Cabins are lakeside, tastefully decorated. Heat, hot water, electricity, satellite TV and are fully furnished. Kitchens are equipped with utensils and appliances. Our cabins also feature large back porches with views of the lake, fire pits and picnic tables large enough for families. Book a Registered Maine Guide or rent our boats for self-guided tours. Hike, boat, fish, hunt, relax.
The cabin is on Junior Lake on 155 wooded acres. For a taste of what Maine offers, you couldn't ask for a better location. Access to year round activities and Registered Maine Guides, makes this location an outdoors man and woman's paradise.
  • The cabins were beautiful and the location was remote and pristine. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and back porch immensely. There were beautiful sunrises down at the waterfront each morning. No complaints except the lack of a handrail on the front steps of the cabin. We had snow our first night, and the steps were a little unnerving for my wife who has a bad knee. I am sure they will fix it after this post, because the owners were around making other improvements to the property while we were there. If you like wilderness and seclusion from the outside world, this is the place for you. I can't wait to come back during g warmer weather so I can explore the lake in one of the boats. Keep up the good work wild fox owners.

  • A perfect place for a little getaway.

    Jainama2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had the best time at our cabin. The staff was helpful, kind, and patient with people like my group who showed up late for check in and managed to lock ourselves out. Couldn’t have been more friendly. I would love to come back but might not in all honesty, just because of the distance from where I live. If I ever get a chance though, I will surely try. You gotta rent some kayaks and go out on the lake. It’s the most beautiful place on earth. Just beware though, there’s almost no service. It’s really a different experience for me to not be on my phone all the time and it was a great way to clear all that crap out of my brain and focus on what was right in front of me. Five stars.

    Jason2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Out of all of my Airbnb vacation experiences Wild Fox Cabins was undoubtedly my best vacation yet. Wild Fox is off the beaten path and gives you the opportunity to completely reset. It was incredibly relaxing and exactly the escape I needed over my Labor Day weekend. I woke up earlier every morning than I normally do, not because I couldn’t sleep in but because I was so eager to get out on the lake and continue to experience all that Wild Fox has to offer. Every part of Wild Fox is exciting. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking and breathing in the beautiful fresh air and getting back in touch with nature was incredibly rewarding. If you have dogs I would highly recommend bringing them because the trails and lake are the best doggy playground in existence! There are countless ATV trails and even boat, canoe and kayak rentals! We ended up renting a boat and being on the lake all day! Exploring the different beaches, having picnics and swimming in the open lake. The thing that stuck out to me most though was the incredible staff! They were so welcoming and accommodating! They really made us feel like we were the only guests there with how helpful they were! Everyone there was absolutely magnificent but Joe Jack is someone who will absolutely blow your mind! His stories and experience with the area is absolutely amazing. Anything you need to know or want to know he is the guy to go too! Joe Jack made sure to have us set up with everything we could possibly need the entire trip and we were sad to leave because of how comfortable he made us feel when we were there. Wild Fox cabins deserves 10 stars and I will definitely be back!!!! I highly recommend Wild Fox cabins!

  • Amazing place! Truly a hidden gem! The hospitality was outstanding as well as the accommodations. My family will be making this an annual trip.

  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Bevin’s cabin! The check in was seamless, and her instructions were clear and accurate which made preparation for our stay much easier. We used her advice and made sure to stop in Lincoln on the way up to get all the groceries we needed since this cabin is in a very isolated location (which is what we loved about it). The cabin was absolutely spotless, and had everything we needed to not only cook our meals, but to also make us feel comfortable. We rented a canoe from Bevin and spent a lot of time on the lake, which was pristine and absolutely beautiful! We recommend this place to future travelers that want to really enjoy northern Maine, and hope to come back soon!

This spectacular post and beam is comfortable and immaculate. Three floors allow for 14 guests to enjoy vacationing together, yet have privacy at the same time. The house is fully equipped. Just bring your bathing suit!

  • The house and views were beautiful. Clean, well stocked, everything you could possibly need was there. Heather responded immediately to my questions. It was a fantastic place to get away for a few days and enjoy the fall colors. Next time I'd like to stay longer! Great paddling right out the door and Moosehorn Wildlife Sanctuary (a short drive) has some fantastic easy hiking trails that go through a variety of eco-systems.

Love Lake Log Home - Beautiful log home on pristine LOVE Lake. If your looking for peace and serenity, look no further. We are located 70 miles from Bangor, 23 from Calais and 26 from Machias. Love Lake is the the perfect place to kick back and unplug or get your hike on in the Maine woods. Fishing, 4-wheeling, swimming, and much more! If you feel the need to leave, which most never do, there is always a day trip to Eastport or Lubec for coastal water scenery too.
The spaces are endless here. Let’s say you arrive in the evening after a weary day of travel. Perhaps you decide to snuggle on the couch while viewing the star lit sky. You head off to bed listening to the barred owls and loons. Early morning are great for coffee on the deck with a great book, sounds of the forest and views of the lake and south western sky. After a nourishing breakfast, perhaps a hike though the trails or a run on the lake road. The afternoon would be a perfect time to take swim and catch a few rays by the water. After dinner, a candle light glass of wine and great conversation on the deck again overlooking a star filled sky.
  • This was our second stay at Christine’s place and certainly won’t be our last! We love the coziness and beauty that the home offers. The views of Love Lake always sets the mood for relaxation and rejuvenation!

    Sarah2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent host with a beautiful home on the lake!

    Rick2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at love lake for our honeymoon. It was the perfect place, very quiet and secluded. Beautiful house with great access to a great lake. Love Lake is super clean and very warm late August. Very good swimming and kayaking. Excellent space to unwind and get away from everything. Christine was an excellent host, left us a few treats and was very responsive with any questions or concerns. Overall this trip was 11/10.

    Zach2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic private lakefront getaway. The property is large, enough for us to set up a badminton net, and on a lake with only about 15 other houses. We saw 10 other people on the lake the entire week we stayed. The lake was surprisingly warm, clear and great for swimming (there is a floating dock), kayaking, and catching tons of bass. It has a rocky bottom so water shoes help. Christine is a great, responsive host. The house is bright, beautiful, very well appointed and cozy. We definitely recommend this house, host and location.

    Jim2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing host, amazing location, amazing cabin, and the lake water was incredibly warm. Seriously, I have never been to a warmer lake in Maine, especially not that far North. Our family is definitely looking forward to going back.

    Jonathan2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing Lake home! Clean, comfortable, breath taking views and wild life. Christine answered all of my questions within a matter of minutes!

    Heather2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This house on Love Lake was the perfect place for our family to relax and slow down and absorb nature. Staying here is like having your own, pristine, private lake - there might be 10 houses on the entire lake. The house is a solid, beautifully constructed, sparkling clean log home. The furniture was comfortable, cozy, and clean and perfect for the two of us, with our three year old. Christine had plenty of high-end, environmentally sensitive cleaning products and natural soaps and such, which I appreciated. There were no scented candles that I could see or smell - as a previous reviewer mentioned. We also took advantage of the good quality salts, olive oil, bottle of wine, coffee, and fresh bread that were left for us to enjoy....and sharp knives! Most vacation homes don’t have sharp knives, which makes it hard to cook...but not here. I admit that we ate desert first every evening, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, after getting a good work out, traversing the lake on the canoes and kayaks provided for us. The house is situated on a soft, green lawn that rolls gently down to the shore. There are a couple of small rocks that lead you to the water...our three year old managed getting in and out of the water with ease. The swimming dock just 50 ft from the shore was where I wanted to be the whole time...My memories of floating above the water while being sun-kissed in the breeze will stick with me for a long time. We loved our time at Love Lake. Our only mistake was not booking it for a whole month.

    Sarah2019-07-21T00:00:00Z

Nestled in the woods 20 minutes from Rt. 6. Off-the-grid living without sacrifice. There is a generator that allows for all the modern comforts. There a very few passerby on the access road and prepare to have the lake to yourself. Use of kayak and two canoes is encouraged! There is internet but it is slow!
Welcome! The place is located 25 minutes off of route 6 just beyond Springfield, ME. The roads are in good condition but for the last stretch, you will need to drive on gravel roads. Located on an 11,000-acre lake. There are fewer people/camps on this lake than most others in the area (across the lake is a Passamaquoddy Land Trust). Fishing is fantastic. There is a gravel boat launch at the other end of the lake. Electricity and water are generator powered. The generator is needed to wash clothes, take a shower, occasionally refill the water tank, and to supplement propane lighting. The water tank holds sufficient water for washing dishes and using the toilet/sink. The generator is turned on and off through a switch on the first floor of the cabin. It will be full of gas when you arrive. There are also two canoes and a kayak at your disposal. You can also rent a motor boat from a friend. The wood adjacent the shed is only for the wood stove. There is a fire pit lakeside next to the dock.
Grand lake stream is 45 minute drive.

Welcome to our home in St Stephen! We restored it to its original beauty. It is a 100 year old home, and we have added modern amenities - air conditioning, wifi, full laundry facilities and it is very comfortable. Sleeps 6 plus easily. It has a large back deck accessible from the kitchen for eating and relaxing outdoors. The house is situated in a very quiet neighbourhood, a 6 minute walk from the Canada/US border station.
We are close to the Canada/US border, which is the St Crois River. Enjoy the changing of tides from the Bay of Fundy that reach the town. Visit Something's Brewing Coffee Shop or the Charlotte County Museum on Milltown Blvd. Five Kings Restaurant, a Picaroons Brew Pub, is located in the former railway station and is a treat for lunch or dinner.

  • Another amazing stay at this cottage on the St. Croix! Very clean and really enjoyed the view over my morning coffee. Looking forward to the next trip!

    Brian2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! Absolutely gorgeous little house with peaceful views of the Saint Croix river. Highly recommend. I’ll be staying there again in the future for sure :)

  • Amazing riverside cottage with the most exquisite furnishings, definitely giving you that ‘home away from home’ feel!

  • Katherine has created a gem of a spot to spend a romantic weekend .... or week for that matter. Her impeccable taste and thoughtful attention to every single detail ....and I mean, every single detail....was amazing. Don't hesitate to book. St. Stephen is a charming town and Katherine as a host just as charming. Thank you Katherine for such a special place to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was perfect. We hope to return.

    Cynthia2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • It's a challenge for us to spend a lot of time together since my wife lives in Canada and I live in America so when we spend time together, we try to make it as perfect and as happy as possible and this beautiful home allowed us to do just that. We loved and enjoyed our stay so much that we didn't leave the house and decided to stay an extra night. Thank you for this beautiful place!

    Ali2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This very cute small house is situated right on the river between USA and Canada and has an outlook to the rapids at low tide that is just outstanding and mesmerising. The house has been beautifully fitted out and is a real pleasure spending a couple of nights here as we travelled across US and Canada. Highly recommended.

    Garry And Kate2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough words to describe how perfect of a stay we had. The only negative was that we had to leave! From Katherine's wonderful tour and tips, from the views of the river and Bald eagles, from a visit from Sammy the Seal on the last morning, this house is the perfect place the relax and take in nature. This is the first time that the pictures online didn't someplace justice. Seeing it in real life was ten times better than the pictures. It is private at the same time as being close to everything in this quaint town of St Stephen. We are already looking forward to booking again in the future. Thank you again to Katherine and your husband for opening up the most perfect of homes to us.

    Brian2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay while in town for a wedding, wish we stayed longer! Katherine's place was beautiful inside and out. Extremely clean and had all the amenities we could possibly need and more. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and dinner one night at 5 Kings Restaurant (a 10 minute walk). It was convenient to our family in Calais right across the border and we were able to fit in a morning trip to St. Andrews that was a quick 25 minute drive. We hope to be back again soon!

A bright cozy cottage equipped with everything you need. Vaulted cedar ceilings with skylights. and two decks overlooking the water. You have a fire pit on the waters edge.. Roast your marshmallows and tell your favorite ghost story.. This place has it all. Kayaks and canoes included. Beautiful walking trails near the cottage. Pack a lunch, and go kayaking and explore the many islands. There is a golf course. Eastport is 35 min away, for that lobster feast and quaint village shops.
Don’t forget, you are 15 miles from the Canadian border. St Andrews would be a wonderful day .. checking out the coastal shops and beautiful golf coarse. Don’t forget to visit lubec lighthouse and brewery.
  • Willow and Greg have a wonderful property right on the shore of pocomoonshine lake, one of the best treasures of downeast Maine. We stayed in their cottage, just down from their main house, and had a great time. They have kayaks and canoes available, and Willow also located a boat rental for us. We spent the week fishing and exploring the lake and area. The nearby nook and cranny is a favorite restaurant, and there are other places just a bit farther in Calais. The cottage is small, but very clean, functional and well appointed and we slept downstairs while our kids were up on the pullout couch. We cooked dinner there almost every night. Willow and Greg are great hosts and were available whenever we needed them, and gave us privacy and space too. We miss our vacation there already!

    Nathaniel2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place, it was everything I expected and more. A perfect relaxing vacation in Maine!

    Catherine2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Willow has been an amazing and friendly host and accommodated our needs for our stay there. The place has a gorgeous view of the lake with the sun setting, the decor and layout of the home is perfect (do be aware that you will be climbing up and down the spiral stairs often), there are nearby hiking trails as well has kayaks and canoes ready to be used on the property with no extra charge. We also got eggs and some English muffins for breakfast in the fridge as an extra touch. The lake is beautiful and constantly has dragonflies and even fireflies if you're lucky enough to see them at night. VERY private, rarely hear noise from neighbors but most of the time it's very quiet. The place is exactly as its described. There is a dock in front of the cabin with two chairs to sit on. There's also a firepit right on the shore. I'm so happy to say that I found the perfect place to propose to my girlfriend of almost 6 years. Thank you again Willow!

    Henry2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second summer stay at Willow’s beautiful spot on Pocomoonshine Lake. The views and calm atmosphere, comfort, cleanliness, super amenities, and the loons can’t be beat. We enjoyed a dinner down the skyline road at the Nook and Cranny this time. Wonderful spot, easy communication.

Beautiful cabin on very quiet Meddybemps Lake in Downeast Maine with lots of privacy! Hear the loons at night while enjoying all the amenities. A nature lovers paradise. No smoking allowed.
You will enjoy how quiet and peaceful the lake is!
Very private. Many times when you go to lakefront homes they are crowded with other homes near by. This is not the case here. Very secluded in large private cove with no other homes in view.
  • This lovely and comfortable cabin was immaculate upon our arrival, with a well equipped kitchen. We loved sitting in the spacious screened-in porch listening to the loons and watching the sun sparkle on the lake. We strongly recommend this cabin as a place to find peace and serenity. Cary is a friendly and welcoming host who also values your privacy. We enjoyed meeting him and his lovable pooch Cash. We simply can’t say enough about how we much enjoyed our brief stay. We will definitely go back.

    Margaret2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The staying is absolute amazing. It is so peaceful and beautiful by the lake view. The host was very informative and nice. Our kids love Cash, the dog.

    Susan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible, modern lakefront cabin with two bedrooms, a loft bedroom, and a screened in front porch. Kayaking on the lake was perfect. Cary and his wife are knowledgeable and helpful, and made communication and check-in a breeze. Their big yellow lab Cage is sweet and huggable. Full kitchen (including a giant lobster pot) meant we drove just a few minutes away to Tradewinds (Hannaford) to buy provisions, and to S'Huckins Lobstah to buy live two-pounders for $8.75 a pound, cooked them ourselves, and feasted.

    Daniel2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! Beautiful nature surrounds the camp. So very quiet, NO noise pollution! The cabin itself is very spacious, clean and comfortable. It has all you need for your vacation. Diane and her two friendliest dogs would greet you when they're around. We went sunset kayaking and swimming at the beautiful Lake Meddybemps. It's only about 50 mins to Canada. We went to Canada for a day trip three times. Highly recommend this place. We'd love to return here again.

    Sherrie2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cary and Diane were very nice and welcoming. The two resident pups (who were able to visit only after we confirmed we were more than comfortable with that) were a delightful bonus! The cabin was very clean and bright and had everything we needed. The lake/ location was beautiful and so peaceful.
