This is a great open layout home with a secluded, private pool. Perfect for friends or family to hangout, take a swim, or simply enjoy the nature around you. Conveniently located just 5+ miles from anything you might need. The host was great. Met us at the home and provided an explanation on the entire home. For us the best part was being 5 minutes from Chapman Lake, where my family spends the last 2 weeks of the summer. The teenagers were thrilled to use a private pool and hot tub in the cool summer evening of PA. Also loved the star filled sky with no nearby lights.

This is a beautiful house with an amazing view. We really enjoy staying here. The pool was great for our entertainment. Definitely very peaceful place. Motty was a great host and attentive. I definitely recommend staying at this house.

Mary describes this lake house perfectly, it is charming and cozy and has spectacular views. This is a very quiet lake, peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the awesome sunsets, grilling dinner, playing activities in the yard, resting in the hammock, stand up paddle boarding on the lake ( we brought our own SUPs) and using Mary's two person kayak. If you like the relaxing lake life this is a perfect choice.

This is our 5th visit to our lake-house home! We know this cabin in the summer months and the middle of the winter in Feb when the lake is frozen (2 fireplaces in the cabin plus a fire pit outside) If you are looking for the perfect "getaway" cabin for you and your family, look no further...this is it! Quiet, peaceful surroundings with a homey feel. Hours of swimming and kayaking in the lake. Mary is a wonderful host and we couldn't be happier. looking forward to our next trip!!!

Exactly as we imagined us when we found this cottage at the lake on Airbnb: lots of rest, especially during the weekdays and a beautiful view, very relaxing. Great to swim, kayak and evening to sit outside on a fire. The cottage is small but cozy, homey, with games and a small library like home. This house was a perfect getaway spot. The house is clean, comfortable and modern. It sits on a beautiful lake next to a golf club on a private circle. There are floor to ceiling windows so you can take in the view from practically anywhere in the house. Nell was a fantastic host! She was available via text for questions, and she appointed the house with fresh flowers, travel size toiletries, and little snacks. It was great to be able to wake up, go for a walk/run around the lake and then enjoy breakfast on the deck! There is even a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs! We didn't want to leave. Perfect size for 2 couples or 1 small family. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway, this is the place!

Liz's Cozy Elk ski cottage was just that very cozy. Everything about the property was warm and inviting, including Liz herself. Liz was readily available for any questions and was very accommodating. She provided me with advice on where to rent my ski gear and eat out with my guests. The cottage itself was comfortable and spacious. The neighborhood was upscale, safe and quite. The cottage was very conveniently located to Elk Mountain only about 15 min away. If and when I go back to Elk Mountain area I intend to rent this property again and would suggest it to all my friend.

Liz was a great host, very prompt to answer any and all questions and she left us a nice welcome bottle of wine and breakfast fixings. The house is in a very nice neighborhood, it seemed private and secure and the lake view is amazing. The house is as described, artsy with a lot of antiques, books and nick nacks so it is best for adult guests (we had our two small children and although Liz welcomed them it isn't childproof!). The house could use some fixing up but is comfortable as a weekend lake house. Thanks Liz!

What a lovely lakehouse! Incredibly peaceful and comfortable, with easy lake access and plenty of outdoor space for tons of activity - frisbee, yoga on the deck, canoeing, reading, BBQ'ing, and more. Additionally, the area is great for a morning walk/run, and with a large grocery store about 15 minutes away. Getting together friends from DC and NYC, it was the perfect distance that felt like worlds away from either city. We've never had a more relaxing weekend! On top of all this, Liz is a wonderful host - so incredibly responsive and truly made sure we had everything we needed! Could not have appreciated that level of care more! Will definitely be bookmarking this for future weekends!

We were late to meet Liz but she patiently waited for us. Gave us a quick tour : wifi keys towels etc. everything worked perfectly. We even asked for Iron which she left for us to use before the wedding. And also there was a nice hand written welcome note with a bottle of wine. The property is located in a private community on a private lake. There is a deck on the lake with a canoe and chairs. The deck provides amazing view of the sunrise. The amount of windows in the front of the house share that great view as well. When entering there is ample seating. Cooking the whole time there I was thoroughly impressed with the assortment of cookware as well as dishware. The two bedrooms were clean. The backyard is on the second hole of Elk CC near the tee box with a view of the first hole's green. The area is remote and secluded. Elk mountain sits close. I highly recommend Liz's property for her responsiveness and the greatness of facility.

This property has a beautiful view of the lake but thats it. We had quite a few issues with our stay ranging from cleanliness to a mouse in the kitchen to a hole in the ceiling and no curtains in the master bedroom. The photos don't accurately represent this property so beware.

Liz had great communication and very easy to work with. Had welcome basket for our arrival and breakfast "fixins" in the refrigerator. The house, as she mentions in her listing, is lived in and quite eclectic. My teenage kids thought it was cool. We enjoyed the wood burning stove and her record player! 15 minute ride to Elk Mountain. Good value for 4-5 people for ski weekend.

This house was clean, large, and well-laid out for our group of four families -- eight adults and five kids -- with more bathrooms than we knew what to do with. The host was very responsive and attentive, also. We had a perfect ski weekend, and would definitely try to book this one again!

The house is huge and it fit our 16 family and friends staying, comfortably. We had so much room. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the house and 40 guest came, it never felt cramped. We had so much seating area inside and out. Everyone who stayed or visited loved being at the house. Our home is in Texas and yet we felt at home here and were able to provide a unique family experience so far from our home. The house is old and has that feel but we loved it. Renting this house was trul a pleasure from start to finish! It was the perfect place to have my friends and family gather before my wedding so we could all spend time and really appreciate one another. The house is gorgeous and the lawns immaculate. We have some children in our party and they even brought toys over for them to play with! We are looking to come back next year!

My mum enjoyed going for her morning walks around your house and I loved how on some days I could take a break from practicing yoga indoors and do it on your porch instead. We also loved how your kitchen and dining room had an open plan allowing all of us to be together at once giving us a chance to enjoy valuable family time. We are also highly appreciative of how patient and responsive Nicole was with all our queries making my nephews and family feel right at home. We would recommend your place to anyone who is visiting PA and need a break from city life.

Staying at Helen's was a real treat. When we visit family in the area, we often have to stay in sterile hotel rooms, or in our family's homes without much space to ourselves. At Helen's we had a front yard, back yard, kitchen stocked with anything we needed to cook- even an outdoor grill and a fountain that our kids played in (though they probably shouldn't have!) We were only a party of 4 people, so the house was 6 times the amount of space we needed but it was perfect at the same time. Thank you Bessie and Nicole- thank you so much.

Our family had a great time at Sam's place. The bedrooms works out very well for all of us as did the living room and porch. The area is beautiful. It took us a bit longer to walk to the Lake House than 3 minutes, especially when carrying supplies. There also is no bathroom at the Lake House. But the lake itself was clean, clear and refreshing. Sam did a great job staying in touch with us. The breakfast supplies Sam left were a bonus!

The house is very roomy and sitting on the porch really sweet. We loved walking around the lake and swimming in the lake. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

This house is in a beautiful location and perfect for a group or family stay. We played lawn games in the yard and enjoyed a lot of time swimming in the lake and hanging out in the boat house (couple minute walk from the house). Host was very accommodating. Would stay again!

My family had a wonderful stay at Sam's cottage. The house was clean and everything was ready for us to relax for three days. The beds were very comfortable and all the room were good sizes. The house had a plenty of space for two older children to play card games and board games- We also had a blessing of the good snow on the second day which made our Elk mountain ski trip even more enjoyable with the fresh snow- Sam also made an arrangement with a house care taker, who supplied with the basic staple, eggs, coffee, milk, muffins and juice. I highly recommend the house for the skiers. It is located 15 minutes away from Elk mountains ski.

AH! What a cool place! We came for a weekend memorial getaway and the house was incredibly spacious, in a peaceful neighborhood. We spent our time in Clifford exploring the area (Claws & Paws, Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, Jessup Carnival, local restaurants), hanging out on the lake in the boat house (it was like having two houses! really, a cool cool spot), walking around the lake, and cooking in / eating outside on the porch. It was better than we could have asked for (even for a rainy weekend)! Sam was quick to respond to any questions and an amazing host (even stocking the fridge w/ breakfast food)!! Would love to come back again :)

Crystal Lake area is the best! Sam's home is wonderful. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Great kitchen to make meals after a long day of skiing. 10-12 minute ride to Elk Mountain! We will be back often!!

Very cute space! It's very homey and very quaint. There's a nice view of the backyard, and it's pretty quiet for the most part. Marlene did such a great job making sure that I was okay and keeping in touch with me prior to coming. She also gave me a pitcher of ice cold water to take up to the room. Would highly recommend! Just know that her dog is very wary of strangers.

Our family of four are very sad to leave your beautiful period home - we have thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday in Dunmore. Situated in a the quiet & safe residential Green Ridge neighbourhood, the house is very spacious, clean, comfortable & beautifully furnished, whilst providing mod cons required by teenagers (wifi, tv's, plenty of bathrooms and hot water, etc). We visited during a heat wave; the air con was essential. Thomas was an excellent host, providing information & support as needed. It is 6+ years since we visited the area, we re-visited several old favourite eating & shopping establishments and also found many new ones, some within walking distance of the house. We will return to the area to visit friends and would definitely re-book your home.

The Dunmore home was a wonderful rental for my family during our Thanksgiving holiday. The house is older, classic and we loved the charm. Everything we needed was available inside the house and there was plenty of room for our group of 8. There is an amazing coffee shop (Zummos) that is about a 10 minute walk away, and next door to a yoga studio. Downtown Scranton is 1.5 miles away.

We just concluded a three night stay at Thomas' house in Dunmore and all I can say is WOW! Actually, I can say a bit more. First and foremost this is a quality property in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. It is easily accessible from I81 and close to downtown Scranton and the surrounding areas. The house itself is gorgeous both inside and out. Beautifully landscaped outside and tastefully decorated inside. Many of the furnishings are antique but there is a touch of modern convenience as well - several flatscreen televisions, wifi, modern basement with an exercise area are coupled with a formal dining room, formal sitting room, a library and several spacious bedrooms. The house has four levels, which allows even a larger party to spread out. There is even a quiet sunroom on the side of the house that provides direct access to the patio. The stone patio in the backyard comes equipped with a gas grill (the grill is connected to the house's gas line so there is no need to run out to buy a tank), numerous chairs and a few lounge chairs. It was a great place to spend time and the tall trees and tasteful landscaping afforded privacy. Thomas was a great host - emailing several times as we got closer to our travel date and very quick to answer questions that I had emailed to him - very flexible and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at his house and even though this was our first experience with AIRBNB and it will be hard to top this place. Our travelled to the area to attend a family reunion but the spacious house and backyard also gave our immediate family a chance to spend quality time together as well. My only complaint was that we only had three nights to spend at the house. I wish we could have stayed for an entire week.

This is a beautiful house, and Tom was a gracious and communicative host. He wasn't there during our stay, but we emailed and talked plenty beforehand and he made sure my gang and I were all set. He even left us a signed copy of a book he wrote! The house itself was very clean and beautifully furnished, and the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. There's a great backyard/patio area and a grill, which we didn't use, but Tom made sure it was in working order for us. Not much else I can say... overall it was a fantastic experience, and if you ever have occasion to stay in Scranton with a group of people, I highly recommend Tom's place.

Wajahat is a very helpful and very communicative host. His place is perfect for solo travellers for 1/2 nights and more basis your requirement. Its a single room towards the back of the house. The washroom is to be shared with the host. The kitchen is easily accessible. Its a very basic place so please be self sufficient in carrying any necessities etc.. The walk around the area is beautiful and downtown is easily walkable within a mile. Ubers are easily available and will ideally cost around $6 one way... Its a bachelor's pad. A simple, basic stay.
