Places to stay in Lake City
Our cottage is 3 blocks from Lake Missaukee, downtown restaurants, ice cream shops, shopping and laundromat. Beautiful beach for families with kids! Great place to park your car and walk everywhere! We have one bedroom with a full size bed, a king size bed in the add on garage, a pull out full size sofa and one bath. Plenty room for everyone! Large back yard for picnics and back yard fun. We also have outdoor seating, table and games!
The lake is great for families with little kids. Beautiful sandy beach that is shallow about 20 feet out, a beautiful playground , picnic area and restrooms. Great way to spend a relaxing day or week! 10 minutes north of Lake City is Smithville Landing which has great tubing on the Manistee River. Cadillac is about 15 minutes West and has many shops, restaurants and a movie theater in case of rainy days. Traverse City is about 50 minutes north with great shopping and winneries, and the Mackinac Bridge is just a couple hours away.
Lake City is a pretty quiet town. Safe to walk and bike around.
  • Sweet first family vacation ! Great location, cute little town !

  • We have a big family, lots of children. We were so happy to find such a cute little place to hang out and crash during our little vacation up north. I love the retro dishes. I'd seriously come back just to sit in the back yard and drink coffee from those cute cups in the kitchen. My kids enjoyed the games and toys in the chest. There isn't a big grocery store in town, but if you know that ahead of time you can plan accordingly. We really enjoyed our time. Thanks for having our family.

Warm, cozy, pet friendly cottage located on the north shore of Lake Missaukee. Use of the entire cottage with full kitchen needs. Minutes from snowmobiling trails and close to cross country and downhill skiing, tubing and sledding at Missaukee Mountain. Ice fishing out the back door. It is an hour plus/minus from 3 ski resorts.
  • Bonnie's cottage is very clean and nicely kept. The location on Lake Missaukee was amazing. We loved everything about it.

    Steve2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I recently visited Bonnie’s place and had a really great stay! The location of the cottage on Missauke Lake was beautiful. We did some ice fishing, snow shoeing and went on winter walks. It is also close to a good tap house that we enjoyed eating it. Great place and location! Would go back again.

    Jamie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie provided a great space.

    Derek2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • Me and my buddies stayed here for the weekend during opening deer season. The house is 6 minutes to downtown Lake City and was 15 minutes from deer camp. This place has cozy, clean, and newer furniture and beds that look right out on the lake. It was clean and stocked with most every kitchen supply if you plan to cook. Prime lakefront location and amenities.

    John2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnies listing is a Great Lake Home Experience. It is just so calming and peaceful in the morning and the evenings almost no matter the weather, is a must see listing!!

  • Spent a long weekend at this cottage and absolutely loved it! The photos don’t do it justice. Your panoramic view of the lake from the living room is amazing. The wood-burning stove is perfectly situated. The house is very clean and spacious. You’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner has incorporated lots of thoughtful little touches. Highly recommend booking this if you’re looking for a Northern Michigan get-a-way!

You won't find a better location if you want to be right in the mix of everything! The newly renovated 3 bedroom (plus a bunk room), 1-1/2 bath cottage is right downtown Lake City and is within walking distance to everything... restaurants, beaches, ice cream, parks, shops and more! Lake Missaukee is a clear, shallow, sandy bottom lake with over 1,800 acres of all-sports activities. It has excellent year-round fishing, swimming and boating!
Guests love the updated cottage and the great location! It's right in town, with easy walking to restaurants, shops, and parks. The cozy cottage has been neatly furnished and decorated with guests in mind. We hope you enjoy your stay!
  • The lakeside cottage was really nice and well maintained with all new updates and decor. The location is perfect just down the road from a public beach, a block from the best ice cream in the area, and right on the lake.

    Jon2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage in an even better location. We loved being right in town to walk to restaurants and the ice cream shop. There are also two nice beaches very close, which our 2 and 6 year olds loved. We rented the pontoon, and that was our favorite part. We had battery issues the very first day from the person that used it last, but Julie and Ryan were on it and had the neighbor come over and help us right away. Inside the house we had all of the amenities we needed for a great and comfortable stay. We will definitely be back!

    Tom2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Home is beautifully decorated. You'll love the kitchen for cooking but nearby restaurants are tasty! Beds are comfortable. Bunk area would work best for kids. Julie is a very good host to deal with! Best part is the breeze off the lake.

    Karin2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fantastic. Loved the space, it should be noted that we were unable to find one of the bedrooms, it was in another space in the garage! Big space. Great location. Hosts are super responsive and friendly! Kayaks and bicycles in the garage. (For guest use?)Hope to see the pontoon next time in better weather! Thank you♡

    Lindsay2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable cottage right on the lake. Super stylish and very responsive.

    Liz2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • At a great time! Close to town for dinner and ice cream. Sandbar on lake was fun for kids. Cute little spot:)

    Elissa2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 8 (6 adults & 2 teenage children) had a lovely mid-winter stay at Julene's cozy cottage. Julene was very prompt in her communication and everything in the cottage was exactly as described/pictured. No need to be concerned that the pictures are too good to be true - the place really is picture-perfect. The location was ideal with beautiful lake views, convenient access to the local grocery store (less than a mile away) and just a short drive to Cadillac and Caberfae Peaks. Added bonus: if the ice is thick enough, cross-country skiing on the lake is a lot of fun! Despite frigid temperatures that dipped below 0F, the cottage stayed warm and comfortable thanks to the gas fireplace, baseboard heaters and extra space heater. The 4th bedroom above the garage was much appreciated as it provided a quiet place for anyone who wanted to rest while everyone else was socializing in the main house. Perfect place for our family vacation - wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

    Llewellyn2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfectly updated cottage that is walking distance to everything Lake City has to offer. All the windows provide great views of Lake Missaukee with your own private beach access. My children loved the items the hosts provide for spending a day on the water. Julene was great to deal with and excellent about communication. We will definitely be staying again.

  • What a fabulous place! We absolutely loved staying at Monica’s place! What a beautiful area, lovely place, clean, and new, great beds, and overall a wonderful place to stay. We are thankful for the welcome, even at 10 pm. We loved Monica’s recommendation for the yummy ice cream shop close by. We didn’t get to go to the lake because Monica let us know that from their place, we were only two hours from Mackinac island. I was so excited to go, and it was so Wonderful. We will be back!

We are a rustic campground. This unit is above our store. While here, you will have access to all the amenities that our campground guests love. We have an outdoor seasonal pool, a 9 hole putt putt course, a playground, and 19 acres of hiking trails. You could also have a site with a picnic table and fire pit with your stay.
The space is open like a studio apartment. The open area has a king size bed and a small seating area. It has two small cubby rooms with one twin bed in each.
We are in the country about 9 miles from Cadillac. We have a little campground store that is available almost anytime.
  • The pictures don't do justice for this cozy apartment. It was super cute and the bed was very nice.

  • Shane’s place was very nice and the location was beautiful! The bed was comfortable and my stay was very peaceful. I would highly recommend choosing Shane’s place. Shane is very responsive to any questions you may have as well.

  • Great space, great value and great location! It was so nice to have a place to crash after a day of skiing! Had everything we needed at a great price!

    Travis2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay here! The place was so cute and super clean when we arrived. They provided everything we needed and the some. Shane and Cindy were super friendly and made it clear that they were a phone call away if we needed anything. It was very cozy after a long day of snowboarding, and we hope to return soon and use the trails they have since we didn’t have time this trip. We highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

    Samantha2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great warm home base to come back to after skiing at Caberfae Peaks. Enjoyed the coffee and snowshoeing around the property in the mornings well. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This is a studio cabin in a very secluded setting. The cabin is adjacent to our primary residence. It is located approximately 3.5 miles from Cadillac, MI. This area has year round outdoor activities such as golfing, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing (downhill and cross-country) and snowmobiling.
The cabin can comfortably fit 2-3 people. It is a studio type setting with a (separate) bathroom, kitchenette, near full-size refrigerator and stove. We do not have good internet so we are unable to offer WiFi. There is a TV and a DVD player in the cabin. The Cadillac area has so many year-round activities. The cabin is 5-10 minutes from two lakes (Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac). There are places to hike, bike and run; the cabin is close to a trail head for a paved portion of the White Pine Trail. The cabin is in the perfect location if you want to launch various day trips to Manistee, Traverse City and beyond. In the winter, you are near Caberfae Peaks for downhill skiing, close to lakes for ice-fishing, and close snowshoeing trails. There is plenty of room to bring a snowmobile trailer onto the property and launch snowmobiles from the property. You will be less than a 1/4 mile from snowmobile trail #35.
The property is in a very quiet, wooded area with a feel of being in the middle of nowhere. In reality, we are only about 6 miles from “Cadillac West” where you’ll find a bowling alley / bar, a more up-scale restaurant (Lakeside Charlie’s), McDonalds, coffee shops and gas stations. The property is a couple miles from about 1,000 acres of Federal land and about a mile from a snowmobile trailhead.
  • The place is so wonderful we stayed again to get in another weekend of skiing and snowshoeing. I would recommend to anyone looking for a more private stay in the Cadillac area.

    Molly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin for a quick ski trip at caberfae peaks and loved it. It’s exactly as pictured. The cabin is cozy and the hosts are very thoughtful. I would recommend.

  • Great place to stay for a weekend getaway!

  • Kathleen’s place was great !! Quick responses, super clean cozy place with everything you need. Super secluded feel, but close to ski hill & trails ! We had an amazing time !

    Halle2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great space for a weekend getaway! Super clean and comfy and had everything we needed. It feels secluded yet is close to town and nearby activities. Would definitely recommend!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful experience. We prefer a more secluded location when visiting the area and this cabin provides that and much more. It was an easy drive to Caberfae and other Cadillac attractions. There was plenty of space and all the amenities we needed were included. We especially liked the hooks for our gear and other belongings. There was local area information on the table and a trail map on the wall. The hosts were also very quick to respond to any questions. We look forward to more trips up to Tustin!

Welcome to my home! Nestled right next to Windover Lake and 80 other lakes in Clare County. I offer a spacious room with a double bed on the main floor. I also have a large kitchen with a dining table and a very big living room with lots of natural light. I am allergic to cats. A well-trained dog is allowed. I do not have any pets. Lots of space for parking a boat, ATVs, etc... Smoking is allowed outside on the decks (420 friendly). I have another room listed on here if you need another.
There is a gas grill on one of the decks that can be used as well as a picnic table and a fire pit for a campfire. The house is the perfect place to stay while you explore the many lakes, rivers, and trails in the area such as the 55 mile long Pere Marquette Bike-Trail, Muskegon River, Budd Lake, Lake George, Eight-Point Lake, and many more. Each lake has a boat ramp and parking. There are ATVs, Snowmobiles, Boats, Canoes and Kayaks all available to rent nearby. There are many family style restaurants nearby that I am happy to recommend. There are multiple golf courses nearby as well.
Several parks nearby for dog walking or picnics. Several delicious local ice cream shops. A fantastic shallow sandbar where you can anchor your boat and walk in knee deep water for hundreds of feet, or no boat needed and just walk from the beach (my personal favorite spot).
  • Great host, great place.

  • Cute comfortable and cozy! Brenda even let us check in early to enjoy the area longer! Definitely will be back during the summer months :)

    Bee2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • From the great communication with the host Brenda to the perfect location of the A-Frame, our trip was just great. The cabin is located right off the lake near multiple hiking trails and eating locations. The downtown area is a quick drive and any last minute needs can be found at the gas station a short walk away. Would highly recommend this place for any couple trying to slow down and getaway.

    Thomas2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect quaint Chalet! Very clean and a stones throw from Lake Emmit(maybe a hundred feet away and you can see it beautifully. Did fall color sightseeing, pumpkin patch, and local eateries, but chalet comes with all the amenities. Dishes, stove, refrigerator, dryer, coffee pot, utensils, towels, soap etc. Only thing I would like to see different is maybe a 3 panel privacy fence to block off backyard on the side that faces the road where gas station is. Just to have more privacy for sitting around firepit it in back. Otherwise perfect place!

    Michele2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was a great host! We had a lovely weekend during this fall season. Great location and beautiful space! Highly recommend!

  • A nice small space to stay for short weekend trips. The Manistee forest is about a forty minute drive depending on which trailhead you enter in from, but a still a scenic area. The Cadillac Pathway is close by which is a great walk if you bring your pet. Cadillac is a cozy town with nice shops and couple breweries and restaurants. Gary was helpful and accommodating. Will keep this location on the list for future travels.

  • The Mackinaw Timbers Cabins sit at the edge of an expansive corn field and offers a unique tidy space in which to launch oneself into the areas activities. We enjoyed the helpful maps, guides and reference materials inside. The ambiance was Pure Michigan and a throwback to simpler times. It served our purpose perfectly!

  • Clean and simple place. Friendly host.

    Lexxe2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mackinaw Timbers is a nice jumping off point to explore Cadillac and the surrounding outdoor activities. The cabins are what most people would describe as "rustic", with basic amenities, and a futon to fold out and sheets you put on it yourself. We were looking for an easy spot to stay before heading out to Manistee National Forest for a few days of backpacking, so this was perfect for that. Getting to and accessing the cabins is very simple.

Cute and cozy little cabin just a couple miles from state land. 1 mile from the county fairgrounds. 1 1/2 miles from town. Enjoy all Evart has to offer such as all of our state land trails for riding dirt bikes , quads, hunting ,mushrooming. We are 1 1/2 from rails to trails to enjoy a great day of bicycling. Less than 2 miles from the Muskegon river to go canoeing or tubing down the river. There are 2 golf course about 5 -6 miles away .
  • We had a great stay! The cabin was clean and super cozy. Melanie was quick to respond and a great host! We will be back.

  • We reserved this cute cottage at the last moment and when we arrived it was warm and ready for our stay even though it was in the low 20's outside! The cottage is very clean and decorated so cute. There were plenty of towels, washcloths, blankets, games, movies and even games you could use outside. I wish it was warm enough for us to enjoy the very nice fire pit and grill. I love how this cottage is so private. We would and already have recommended this place to our friends and family.

Perfect for a guys hunting weekend, ladies getaway or a weekend away to unplug with the kids. Enough room for 5! Amenities include a kitchen, fireplace and big screen TV for movies. Spend evenings on the deck at the fire pit or at the casino winning. This cottage sits at the end of the road in the middle of the woods.
Nestled in the trees near bike trails and lakes.
Just 20 minutes from Clare, home of Cops and Doughnuts and The Whitehouse, both renowned for their menu items.

  • We had a lovely and relaxing stay at Lydia's place! It was the perfect space for my five kiddos ages 1-18 and myself for a long weekend away. There are so many nice DVDs to choose from and lots of fun games to play. We had a great time doing both! I found the queen bed very comfy and it was nice there was a fan for white noise for my youngest and a space heater we used just to warm up the bedroom a big before we went to sleep. The fireplace was so cozy! We ordered pizza from Buckhorn Saloon, had brunch at The Whitehouse restaurant, bought donuts at Cops and Donuts, and stopped at Jim's Surplus just north of Clare. We also ate dinner at Birchwood Restaurant and got pasties at Kathy's Pasties. We don't need to eat for awhile! ;) Lots to see and do and also a lovely home to just stay home and relax at. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Located right next to Windover Lake in Clare County. 5 miles from ski resort and snowmobile trials. I offer a spacious room on the 2nd floor with bunked queen and single beds. I also have a large kitchen with a dining table and big living room with lots of natural light. I am allergic to cats. A well-trained dog is allowed. I do not have any pets. Lots of space for parking boats, ATVs, etc. Smoking is allowed outside on the decks (420 friendly). I have another room listed on here if needed.

  • The little cabin was adorable and very well decorated with shelving space. It was very thoughtfully designed to accommodate modern luxuries in a small space. Great amenities, friendly staff, and lots of fresh air. Gary was very accessible by phone and responded promptly. Would definitely stay here again.

    Heather2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect cozy getaway. Electronic entry was very convenient, decor was perfect, and it had everything we needed to getaway but still watch some Netflix. All around a great place!

    Anita2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charming old school up north cabin. Small but sparkling clean and decorated really well in classic up north style. Check in was easy. Sheets were soft and smelled nice, and there was a fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee maker. A more unique stay than a hotel. Full of charm. There is a busy road near by but running the fan covered it up.

    Adrienne2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins were rustic, but had all of the basic amenities to make our stay perfect. I thought it might get too hot without any air, but each cabin had a nice large oscillating fan that did the trick. Our stay was great! I’ll definitely be coming back!

    Monica2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was clean and cozy. Perfect for a weekend get-a-way. Welcome book was very helpful and easy to follow. Definitely will come back again!

    Melanie2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • A very quaint cabin. The space is small but thoughtfully arranged. Those seeking rustic vibes without sacrificing comfort will be pleased.

You will have the entire basement-- two bedrooms, bathroom, small kitchen area, & living room-- to yourself. We are in a wooded setting a couple of miles from town. We are close to the Rails to Trails, the perfect place to walk or jog. We think you'll find the space peaceful & cozy! *Check-in says 4, but we can be flexible if needed. Just let us know what you would like to do, & we will try to accommodate. :)
If you stay in the area, we suggest you take a walk on the Rails to Trails, get an early morning cinnamon roll at Chuckwagon Diner, try a sub or stromboli from Pompeiis Pizza, & sample the pulled pork nachos & great beer at The Brewery downtown.
  • Tracie's home is one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed at! Such a beautiful home, and we had a huge space all to ourselves. Tracie did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed. It was a perfect place to stay on our way up to ski at Caberfae--strongly recommend!

Glamping: this is the place for someone who wants to go camping without roughing it. Queen size bed, hot shower, stove, refrigerator, electrical outlets and privacy to enjoy the great outdoors. Relax around fire pit and don't be surprised if a deer wanders in. This is the spot where we take our grandchildren camping because we want to enjoy being outdoors but want comfort while being close to all that Cadillac has to offer. Local lakes nearby, close to bike and orv trails.
While the site is private you are only minutes away from Cadillac. The wall tent is 16x20 with a plywood floor with throw rugs. It has both a front and back covered porch to allow you to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. If it is cool at night there is a propane radiant heater in the tent. The back porch overlooks a deep valley that often serves as a pathway for deer and wild turkeys. The utility area is 15 feet from the tent and contains both a kitchen and bathroom. There is an instant on water heater so you have plenty of hot water. The antique stove is beautiful as well as functional and you have a full refrigerator. Just outside you will find a large grill. If the chickens cooperate you will have some fresh eggs available for breakfast. There is a large fire pit for your pleasure. We provide fire starters and an ample supply of firewood.
  • Love this place so much! This was my second time staying here and planning to visit again in the future. Even though it was cold there was plenty of firewood provided along with a propane heater and enough propane to get us through three nights. Lots of cozy blankets too (: The grounds were so beautiful in all the fall colors and the cows came to visit us every day. Can’t wait to stay here again next year!

    Megan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely amazing! The heater helped cut the chill after some rainy nights, and the area was gorgeous and so fun to explore! The shower was a dream on the cold and rainy days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make our own meals, and the fire pit and grill gave us plenty of options. Lots of wildlife to watch and listen to, as well as friendly cows that would wander close to the campsite. Being so close to the woods, bugs and spiders were definitely a thing, but no more so than any regular camping trip - overall an excellent stay.

    Iulia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a camping experience without the small sleeping space and sleeping bag, this is the place to go. Everything was beyond expectations. The decor is amazing as well.

    Ashley2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is highly recommended. This place has the camping experience together with the comfort of staying on a cabin or house. Located in a very quiet place but also close to the main highways so you can go anywhere around the area.

    Adrian2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an amazing getaway with plenty of leisurely adventure! We will definitely be back!

    Korey2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mark & Brenda’s place is peaceful and had everything you need! Plenty of space and firewood provided. Place was sparking clean! Will be returning!!!

    Allison2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing getaway here. What a beautiful place to unplug, relax, unwind, and enjoy the simplicity of life with our group of friends. Everything about this space is so dreamy. Thankful for the laughs and memories made, we will definitely be making this an annual trip moving forward. If you enjoy nature this land offers so much, and it’s about 30 minutes to the Manistee River Trails.

  • Beautiful cottage just steps from the lakefront. A great mix of historical charm & modern updates. Enjoyed the separate entertaining areas, so the kids could stay busy playing, while the adults socialized. Great breeze from the lake made the cottage comfortable, even without A/C.

  • Great location, clean, nice lake house, right on the water; also only 100 yards from lovely municipal park and beach. Great hosts...we had a lovely week with kids and grandbaby.

  • Great home. Quirky. Comfortable beds and great, well-stocked kitchen. A nice lake house.

  • We can't say enough good things about this place. It is perfectly decorated with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed the easy access to the water (our 2 and 5 year old grandsons would agree; if they were outside they were in the water). And the kayaks were an added bonus!

    Cindy2018-08-16T00:00:00Z

Amish stores incudes bakeries cheese factory and many other stores thought out Clare county. we are sure you will have lots to do and enjoy your stay while you are here
are surroundings are secluded yet within walking distance to town and the neighbors are excellent
  • Jim is an excellent host. He had the house waiting for us when we arrived and it exceeded our expectations, as did his recommendation for the Jack Pine Restaurant in town. The house is amazingly clean and very comfortable. It was a great location for our trip and met our needs perfectly. I have stayed at several Airbnb’s, in several different states, but I believe this was the first one that had “real” tv stations, not just Netflix or Hulu. That was an awesome bonus, being football season and all.

  • The best place & the nicest hosts we’ve ever had. Great house & location. Our best AIRBNB experience!

  • Stayed here for two nights with some friends and it was perfect. The beds and kitchen were wonderful, and the bathroom was great. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. The rates are better than a lot of others around.

    Emelaine2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s place was quite lovely. We chose to stay there and drive a little further because his rates for our two day trip ended up less then most one days. Can’t beat that. Lovely amenities like soft sheets and towels after a long day out exploring are a welcome treat. Kitchen and bathrooms are very nice with updated features and comfort. Jim was very flexible with check in hours and fit to our every changing schedule. Loved staying at Jim’s.

Newly-constructed log cabin on just under 3 acres. Located on a seasonal road with very few homes and lots of open land with mature hardwoods. The cabin gives you a truly off-the-grid experience without electricity or running water and featuring a wood stove for heat. Get out of the city and take time to recharge and reconnect. The cabin has a large loft which is furnished with 2 twin beds and 2 full beds. The main area is an open space with a kitchen area and living space.
The cabin is small and geared toward adventurers and those seeking a back-to-nature experience. If you cannot survive without your hairdryer, this is not the place for you :-) That being said, the cabin is newly-constructed and very comfortable, a great place to unplug and enjoy life at a slower pace. Sleeping: There are 2 twin and 2 full beds in the loft of the cabin and the sectional does pull out as well. No linens or blankets are provided. Bring your sleeping bags and pillow. Cooking: A cast iron set can be used for indoor/outdoor cooking. You can cook on top of wood stove or outdoors over fire. There is also a 2-burner propane camping stove for your use if desired - bring Colman mini propane tank with you. Basic cooking utensils provided, dishes are not available.
The cabin is on a seasonal dirt road with very few houses. Our property lines are clearly marked and guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the 3 acres and hike up and down the road but be warned not to cross onto neighboring property-owners' land.
  • As described. We had a great time!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin, peace and quiet!

    Drew2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a quiet rustic get away this is it, beautifully crafted log cabin that feels cozy. We went during a snowfall so all you could hear was that, was almost something out of a movie. There is some stuff that is left over from other stays but make sure to bring some water and propane! 10/10 would experience again.

    Josie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time, cabin was clean and exactly as expected. Plenty of wood and supplies were there making the stay very comfortable, even in the winter.

  • Great area way out in the woods. Wood stove makes the place feel very cozy

    Chris2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a good way to get out in the woods!

    Andrew2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect location for a weekend getaway. The wind in the trees sounded like waves, and we really enjoyed the quiet with no distractions. Even when a thunderstorm rolled in this morning, it was so peaceful. My husband and I slept on the pullout couch, which was relatively comfortable. There was plenty of propane, bottled water, and kitchen supplies left by previous visitors. The outhouse had toilet paper (we brought some just in case) and was clean. You can’t see the house from the road when there are leaves on the trees FYI, but they gave a Google pin and good directions.

    Emily2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice little cabin. Great for those that want a get away. I would recommend checking out the place before stocking up on to many supplies. Guests are encouraged to leave things for others passing through so you may not need as much as you think.

    Griffen2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first time up in Cadillac and my first time visiting the area for a fall color tour. I had a great time! The cabins were easy to find, even when we arrived at night. We had no trouble using the keypad on the cabin door and getting in. The cabin is super cozy and clean, with reliable wi-fi, hot water, and heat. We were impressed and had no issue with the facility! It was just two of us this time, but we are already discussing coming back with some more friends and renting a few cabins and make use of the bonfire in the future!

    Jeannie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was super cute and comfortable. Gary's communication prior to and during the visit was timely and clear.

  • My husband was sent to the Cadillac area for an early morning meeting, so we thought renting a place to stay would be easiest. This cabin was clean and super easy to stay at! Gary was a great host and check in was super easy. We would definitely consider staying here again!

  • I brought a group of Amish folks to visit from Pennsylvania. Mackinaw Timbers was perfect for me. It's cozy and rustic, quiet and comfortable, and was WARM on a mighty cold and windy day. The great rate sealed the deal. A late-night plumbing issue was handled quickly and thoroughly. I highly recommend, and will stay there every time I get to the area. Thank You for the fine accomodations!

  • Mardi’s cabin is the perfect cozy cottage for a weekend getaway (or longer). We came in winter so couldn’t go swimming or boating, but found the place so cozy and the views of the snowy lake very pretty. It’s also close to state parks — we went on a great hike. The place was sparkling clean and Mardi is very responsive. Would def recommend.

  • This is our fourth year staying at Mardi's cabin in Harrison - we love it so much that we keep coming back. Very cozy, no frills and relaxing. The fireplace and cozy space is our favorite part about the experience.

  • This cabin is in a great spot on the lake! We really liked the fire pit, and enjoyed our time here!

  • We had the best time at Mardi’s cabin. It is cozy and just the right size for a small family. Very conformable, quiet and extremely clean. The kitchen seems small, but you can find everything you need. The lake view adds a lot and make the place even more special. Even with the weather been a little cold, we enjoyed the paddle boat and barbecuing at the deck. Nice family retreat.

This cozy cabin is located in Crawford County, Michigan, known for its military & State owned land. 60% of the county is available for recreation including ORV and snowmobile trails, XC skiing, kayaking, biking and hiking. The cabin is surrounded by ORV and snowmobile trails. It is centrally located in the northern part of the lower peninsula for easy day trips to areas such as Mackinac Island and Traverse City. Higgins lake, with a small beautiful beach is just a 5 minute drive from the cabin.
Plenty of ORV trails around our cabin. 1000 acres of state land across the road. A neighbor on each side of us, but still feels secluded and quiet.
Very quiet and peaceful area. We so have a neighbor on each side of us but it still feels secluded and quiet

  • This cabin is a great location for trail riding with the sleds, and many of these trails are open for atv/orv. Great sight seeing nearby, and fishing as well! This cabin is deffinately on my list for future stays. And the owner Mark was very quick to respond with any questions we had, thanks again Mark.

  • If I could give Mark’s place 10 stars, I would have. Great place to kick back and relax. We used it as home base for the weekend of Jeep trails and visiting breweries in Grayling. Everything about the cabin was amazing. Love this place. Mark makes you feel right at home

IThere is also a spare open room for air mattresses. ’ll buy new ones and put them in the sleeping arrangement you want. It’s a clean place. You can walk to the lake and drivable to most places.
