Places to stay in Lansallos
Due to Covid19 UK lockdown we would recommend getting in contact with us before booking to check on availability. Dates up to 3rd July are blocked. Stunning studio loft apartment situated just 200 metres from the sea and beach. Wake up to the view of the Sea. Self contained, self catering with kitchen. Private access to apartment from Top Road. High spec finish within. Wifi with all the mod cons! Minimum night stay varies seasonally.
Wake up to the sea at the end of your bed! Some low sloping ceilings due to it being a loft. Always cleaned to a very high standard.
Small friendly community with great local facilities. This is the best place in Cornwall to spend your summer holiday. I know I am biased as I have lived here for 30 years but honestly, it really is! Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all just 1 minutes walk from the house. The pub 'The Inn On The Shore' is situated right on the sea front and is a great place to enjoy local ales over looking the sea. The shop is a good size and has everything you might need with daily deliveries of fresh food as well as a post office. There is a very popular vegetarian cafe called 'Something Different' in the middle of the village. The Blue Plate restaurant is stunning and very popular locally with an excellent reputation for good food and service, it also has a deli that is open daily. Downderry beach is just 100 metres from the loft which is a family friendly beach used by many of the locals. It is sandy with a few pebbles here and there and has lovely rock pools on low tide to explore. Perfect place for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and snorkelling. You can walk all along the beach from Downderry to Seaton. Seaton Beach is just half a mile West of Downderry and is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May - September. Seaton also has 1 bistro beach bar, 1 pub, beach cafe, toilet facilities, children play area including a multi games area and a country park with river valley walks so plenty to do. Just 6 miles to the East the stunning Whitsand Bay is a must. 5 miles of golden sands at Low tide. Adventure Bay Surf School operate from Tregonhawke Beach. It has 4 lifeguarded beaches along its coastline. Just check tide times and swim at the lifeguarded beach in between the red and yellow flags. The area is known for its good surfing waves and subsequent rip currents. Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and. Stones throw from Whitsand Bay. Lovely little fishing villages with cobbled streets over looking the mouth of Plymouth Sound. Close by is Mount Edgecombe County Park which has a stately home and gardens to explore as well as a restaurant in its orangery. From Cremyll you can get a foot ferry to Royal William Yard which is over the river Tamar within Plymouth. It is a former vittaling yard which has been converted in to stunning restaurants, bars, and Shops. Well worth a visit. The Hoe and the Barbican area of Plymouth are also well worth a visit, the view of Plymouth Sound from on top of the Hoe is fantastic. To the West along the coast you have the popular villages and towns of Looe, Polperro and Polruan and Fowey. All beautiful quaint Cornish coastal locations. If visiting Fowey avoid the crowds and car parking headaches by driving to Polruan on the East side of the Fowey river and get the foot ferry from the harbour over to Fowey. Everything in Fowey is walking distance. The car park at Polruan at the top of the hill is one of the most beautiful locations of any car park in the U.K. I would think! It looks out over St Austell Bay and down the Fowey River. Try it and see! On Wednesdays in the summer you can go on board a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat for a donation of your choice. To get to the North Coast of Cornwall is around 1 hour for places like Polzeath, Perranporth. St Ives a little further at about 1.5 hour drive. The Eden Project is about a 1 hour drive. Large supermarkets can be found at Liskeard (Morrisons) Saltash (Waitrose) Plymouth (Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda). All but Morrisons do online ordering and home delivery to Downderry if you need to do a large grocery shop while you are here. So much to see and do both close by and a little further a field.
  • The Loft is gorgeous. The view from the main window is stunning at all times of the day. The kitchen was well equipped and enabled us to easily cook all our meals in the apartment. A great place to keep yourself to yourself and hide away from the struggles and reality of the rest of the world. Also within good walking distance of the beach and coastal paths meaning lots of lovely walks with great views on the doorstep too! James was always quick to respond to messages and kept us well informed on the ongoings of the local area during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

  • One of the nicest views I have ever woken up to! It was peaceful, relaxing and a couple minutes' walk to the beach. It was very clean and a perfect little couple's retreat.

  • Amazing views, cosy hideaway in a lovely village. Good location and value for money. Ideal for a few nights away from it all. Highly recommended.

  • Booked James place for a suprise present for my parents. They said they had a great time and enjoyed the amazing views from the apartment.

  • The whole loft was in perfect order and The cooking facilities were wonderful for us to have a home cooked meal and everything was in working order. Everything was wonderfully clean and felt like home and that all adds to the desire as a guest to leave it as we we found it. If you want a little nook and cranny to hide away then I’d whole heartedly recommend.

    Elliott2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is a lovely place - just as the photos show you - the view is simply beautiful. It's a stone throw from the beach, the pub, eateries and local shop. My husband and I had a relaxing long weekend and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

  • Despite visiting during the COVID19 situation we had a very relaxing stay. Martin and Sheila’s place has everything going for it including fantastic views and great little touches like homemade scones upon arrival. We will definitely be coming back.

    Ian2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home-from-home with a friendly and welcoming feel to it. Quiet and relaxing with stunning sea and country views accompanied by birdsong and the sound of the sea. Sheila & Martin are friendly, non-intrusive hosts.

    Emma2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing weekend at this apartment. Great views and very cosy. Extra touches such as dressing gowns, slippers, towels, beach towels, milk, butter, prosecco and even fresh scones with cream and jam. Martin met us at the door as soon as we arrived and explained everything for us along with some local knowledge of where to eat. The Coddy Shack was a favourite for us. I think it's safe to say we all fell in love with Seaton and this apartment. Will definitely be returning. Perfect weekend.

    Dan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Martin and Sheila for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The added touch of scones on arrival and the thoughtful gesture of eggs bread and milk were truly appreciated. Great hospitality!! Your accommodation was everything we expected and more! Stunning views were enjoyed from this ideal property and walks along the beach we’re loved too! A nice way to relax and unwind for a few days. Thank you, Cherie and Marcus.

  • THEY WERE BOTH VERY FRIENDLY AND CONSIDERATE AND ALWAYS ASKED HOW WE WERE GETTING ON AND IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING ELSE

    Philip2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Martin & Sheila are by far the best Host’s. Their hospitality was just amazing.. always made sure to check in on us and 100% insisted on coming to knock or call for them if there was anything at all we needed. Their place is so cosy and personal with its touches, it really feels like a home away from home for sure. The view was outstanding, couldn’t get enough of it. Martin and Sheila’s recommendations in places to visit and to eat were great. They also have a massive box of flayers, maps, menus, etc to help with exploring choices. (I thought that was really cool in doing that since google and the internet doesn’t always do so well haha!) Everyone was so friendly.. we went to a really nice pub for food and drinks called ‘Inn On The Shore’ in Downderry the next town on.. we walked there which took about 15-20 mins, a lovely walk with a great view of the sea. The next town Looe which was the other direction was about a 10min drive, where some lovely little cafes and the best fish and chip shops were. We also did a little shop at Co-op and the farm shop there. There’s so much more to say, however I think you all to go see the place for yourselves and stay with these lovely Host’s. Thank you again Martin & Sheila, We can’t wait to hopefully come again in the summer, we’d definitely stay with you! Chanelle and Herve Xxxx

    Chanelle-Lorreta2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the place was exceptional, stunning view, cosy and beautiful house, nice treats for us, like prosecco, enjoying the hot tub and the view at the same time. We will definitely come back one day.

    Nino2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment with a most beautiful view. We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the extra touches like a bottle of prosecco and scones in the oven to welcome us with. The hot tub was ready and waiting and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as well as our two pooches! Thank you so much and we will be back in summer hopefully.

  • A well designed hut, gorgeous setting and a idyllic location. Lots of special touches left for us and a lot of freedom. Would recommend!

    Abigail2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    William2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ali was a fantastic host, he talked me through the hot tub and getting there prior to my arrival in case he wasn’t there to meet us. On arrival he showed us to the hut, and talked us through how to light the fires and hot tub. The hut itself is small and quaint, and a fantastic little get away! Just what we needed amongst the chaos in our lives at the moment. I stayed with my partner and two dogs and we all managed to fit. I would say that I over predicted the size of the oven facility so maybe bear this in mind. We walked from the Hut to Looe for lunch and Ali assisted us with lighting the hot tub and was always there as a helping hand. I would highly recommend, great couple nights away and everything was just as described. Perfect host, and hut. Thank you x

  • We were welcomed with smiles and hot coffee and brownies on arrival by our hosts who couldn't of been more welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was perfect, warm and spotless. More than enough room for our party. The whole site was a real pleasure from the games barn and the wood fired hot tub to feeding the pigs and collecting eggs from the friendly hens. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay, the location was perfect and everything we wanted was close by. The only problem was our stay wasn't for long enough. We will definitely be back. Thanks again. Xx

The bed was super comfy, the kitchen was great and the en suite shower was amazing! We’ll definitely be back - most likely with a group of friends and their kids!

  • Great stay in Looe. We had a 4 night stay in Little Pudding Cottage as our trip to Poland was cancelled because of the Corona Virus and we still wanted to take the time off work. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very comfy and homely with an outside terrace overlooking the harbour and a 2-minute walk (down a steep path) to the harbour-side. Free parking outside the front door. Well-equipped kitchen. Wonderfully comfortable bed and BIG towels! Brilliant Smart TV. The day after we arrived, the town shut down due to the C-virus but we still had the outside terrace and views to make up for that so we didn't feel like our trip was spoiled in any way. Clive was next door but didn't impose on us in at all but he was there immediately to answer queries and offer help and local tourism advice. Looe is a short 20 minute trip by car to Fowey and Polruan and Polperro. We haven't been to Looe before but we'd definitely come back and we'd certainly stay at Clive's Little Pudding Cottage again.

    Fiona2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Lovely views..Clive was really helpful.the accommodation had everything you could need..

    Jason2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clive is a great host. Came and introduced himself as we arrived, but left us to it for the rest of our visit. The cottage is a lovely peaceful space, with beautiful views. Would defiantly recommend.

    richie2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodation in stunning location. So relaxing and peaceful, cottage very clean and provided everything you need, host was very helpful. Will defiantly be looking to stay there again.

    Mark2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • As long as you follow Clive’s detailed instructions, you will have no problem finding the parking location and the Airbnb itself. Don’t get distracted by google maps! Once inside, you will find a delightful apartment, just the right size, with all the necessary amenities. Great shower, lots of hot water. Multiple heaters for each room. VERY well equipped kitchen. It’s quite a steep (but short) wall to the town center, so for visitors with mobility issues this might not be the best option - however, it fit our needs perfectly. We had a great trip and Clive is a very welcoming host. Thank you Clive!

    Drew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clive’s place is in a good location with great views of Looe. Easy walk to everything.

    Lisa2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clive answered every question and went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed for a great stay. His cottage was well equipped with even a good washer/dryer, which we took advantage of. Looe proved to be an ideal location from which to explore Cornwall. Weather prevented us from doing the entire coastal walk to Polperro, but even the first part as far as the first big climb was spectacular. This delightful, airy cabin, is the perfect place to relax. Located in the hamlet of Milltown, near Lostwithiel, you are a short walk away from beautiful woodland and the picturesque Fowey River and ten minutes, by car, from the beach.
Nestled into a wooded hillside, our cabin is set far enough away from the house to give you peace and privacy. It is light and airy in summer and cosy in the winter, with storage heating and an electric blanket. There is also a heated towel rail and plenty of hot water in the en-suite shower room. The main room has a double bed, a large cupboard, an arm chair, bed side tables and enough floor space to put up a travel cot or a child's blow up bed. Although there is not a kitchen, there is a cupboard with basic crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, a fridge, a microwave, tea and coffee making faciliites and a toaster. Bread, croissants, a selection of cereals, milk, juice, honey, jam and marmite will left in the cabin for you to make your own breakfasts if you are staying for one or two nights. If you are staying for longer then it will be up to you stock up on supplies!
Milltown is a pretty hamlet close to the ancient Milltown Woods and the Fowey River and The Saint's Way goes directly past the gate! Lostwithiel is a twenty minute walk across fields or a five minute drive and it has a good selection of shops including a deli, a butchers, a bakers, a chemist, a Co-op and several good antique and gift shops. The picturesque town of Fowey is just over four miles away with it's numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops and stunning views of the estuary and out to sea. There are many local beaches, to suit all tastes, and the Eden project all within a 20 minute drive.
  • Lovely little cabin with pleasant walks nearby. Very helpful hosts with quick responses. Clear instructions on how to get there were given. Would definitely stay again!

  • Lovely cabin, the perfect getaway where you totally escape reality. Walk welcome, it was nice to have milk, cereal and toast on arrival. The woods which the cabin is set in is truest magical. We will definitely be back again

    Tracey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Clare's cabin with the idea of fostering a love of the woods in my children. I have not been disappointed, they both came away absolutely in love with the woods, the streams and rivers and all that the area had to offer. The cabin is neat, spacious, well presented with everything one could need. We will be back!

    Lindsay2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely secluded spot, we had a lovely stay in cabin and had everything that we required. We were there when weather was not so great but still had a good time. Picturesque surroundings, nice and peaceful.

  • A cosy little cabin set in the most beautiful wooded area. We woke to birdsong in the morning and watched the stars at night. A perfect weekend getaway, we will definitely be returning. Thank you very much.

  • Great quiet chalet for two. Great location for exploring Cornwall. Lovely and cosy. I’ll be back👍

    Graham2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin, great location, peaceful and secluded. Good location for the eden project, beach, estuary... Lots of books and games for relaxing evenings. The heater could do with updating as it doesn't quite manage with cold winter nights, but this is the only minor criticism of a really nice, great value cabin, we'll definitely book again.

    Jamie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful retreat tucked away in the cornish countryside. All the home comforts you'd possibly need for a short stay. Very clean, warm and comfortable furnishings. Look forward to returning one day 😊

  • Great cottage - very convenient location and invaluable parking space in a village where parking is limited. Lovely walks, beautiful harbour and lots of local shops and restaurants.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Cobb’s wells. This property had everything we needed for our stay. We took our German shepherd dog with us and this property was big enough for her to run around and had a secure garden for her. This property slept 5 people and was nice and warm. Little touches made us feel very welcome and helped us during our stay. These included, milk & biscuits for our arrival. Dish washer tables and washing liquid were provided. The car parking space provided is also a huge plus in Fowey. Thanks for a great stay and we would highly recommend.

    Ryan2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage in a convenient position in Fowey. So useful to having a parking place although I was pleased my car was no bigger! Once we got used to the church bells (after 24 hours) it was very calm and peaceful. Shops very close too and pubs.

Penlea Retreat is set in a little private meadow, with attached woodland offering plenty of space to unwind and relax in perfect solitude. Surrounded by National Trust farmland it offers a secluded rural escape and yet is only 5 minutes walk to Polperro Village, the beach and South West Coast Path. Ideal for a romantic break for both summer and winter stays we have underfloor heating and log burner inside and a fire pit outside to keep you warm and cosy. Park in your dedicated parking space adjacent to the meadow, then walk up some steps, open the gate and you will find our own slice of countryside waiting for you. Penlea means enclosed meadow, and this is where the hut sits with a view of the adjoining field beyond. Inside the hut has a fully functioning shower room, hand made in frame kitchen with induction hob and a sumptuous double bed with storage. There is also a small dining table and cosy woodburner for romantic evenings in. Outside on the paved patio you will find a large corner sofa and dining table with a fire pit and barbeque for alfresco lunches and dinner under the stars. Just beyond the hut, a few steps lead up to a wooded glade- again totally private to you- with a stream at the bottom. As you have so much space to yourself, you could easily spend all your time around the hut, or you can enjoy all of Polperro has to offer just a short downhill walk away. Penlea Retreat genuinely offers the best of both worlds for those looking for a rural escape yet with easy walking access to beaches, pubs and restaurants. You have miles of the South West Coat path just a few minutes walk away, you can swim in the natural pool nearby or sunbathe on Polperro beach without having to use your car. Other beaches are just a 5 minute drive (or 40 minute walk) away.

Welcome to our home. A cosy single en suit room overlooking quiet garden.Delicious breakfast in our sunny kitchen. Set in the heart of old Cornish village with stunning views of ocean and river, 2 pubs & wonderful coastal walks to wild beaches. Ideal base for visiting the Eden Project.
Cosy and perfect for some one traveling on their own, overlooking a quiet garden. Price includes delicious breakfast. We do have a dog but she is not allowed upstairs or around the guests at breakfast time.
Polruan is situated at the mouth of the Fowey River accessed by small country roads. From the top of the hill on one side you can look down to the harbour and across to Fowey or turn around and look out to sea. In the summer there are often sailing boats to watch. The village has little narrow streets to explore and is on the South West Coast path. Polruan is a lovely place to relax especially sitting on the quay watching the comings and goings on the river, with occasional dolphin sightings.

  • Bella's is the perfect place to stay when visiting Polruan The facilities are 5 star, with great attention to detail Bella is a lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble. A great conversationalist with a fantastic sense of humour. The bed was really really comfortable, one of the best sleeps away from home, even better than my own bed. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice and beautifully presented. I feel well rested and relaxed. I look forward to staying again in the future. Thanks Bella

The Watch House is a beautiful 19th Century coast guard’s watch-house perched on a cliff on the South Cornish Coast with the most spectacular views imaginable. It is off-grid and is a 20 minute walk from the car park, but for adventurous souls, The Watch House offers incredible rewards. The cottage has been leased from the National Trust by the wonderful Trinick family for decades. We manage bookings on their behalf and guests can call us any time.
The Watch House is the only building on an 8 mile stretch of beautiful Cornish coastline. It has two main rooms: a kitchen and a main living room with log burner. There are 3 original built-in bunks in the main room along with a pull-out double sofabed. In the kitchen there is a fold-down bunk for a 6th person. There's a flushing loo and hot outside shower open to the sea view! There's no electricity so lighting comes from candles and LED lanterns. IS IT FOR ME? For most who've stayed at the Watch House, it has been the most incredible place they've ever discovered, but it isn't for everyone. You will need to be reasonably fit and able and reasonably practical. You'll need to be able to light the wood burner, turn on the gas boiler (we provide instructions), use candles safely, remove the storm shutters (again with instructions) and carry your sleeping bags, towels and food down the coastal path from your car park (a 20 minute walk). If the above describes you, this is a magical, remote and romantic spot that is completely unique - you won't find anywhere like it.
Spectacular, unspoilt coastline for miles in either direction! Walk the beautiful coast path to lovely beaches and local towns and villages, or drive to some of Cornwall's best attractions from National Trust properties to gardens, the Eden Project to superb restaurants.
  • Warnings - you have a fair wheelbarrow trip from the car so pack light. The place isn't big so only stay with people you love. I adored it - it's a basic stone cottage on the side of a cliff, the location is absolutely unrivalled. Basic gas fridge and cooker. Comms were great from the management company. No phone or internet signal (although signal ten mins away). I had a wonderful time. You can explore the coves and bay by day, and there's a woodburner and hurricane lamps at night. Completely enchanting. I'll be back.

    Paul2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • It’s been a great stay for us as we were looking for an experience just like this - the watch house is just on the coast off the south west coast path and absolutely beautiful surroundings and beaches. There’s a also a local parish church nearly well which is quite good for a morning trek. We were caught up in a bit bad weather for the first two days so would highly recommend checking the weather before coming as it’s really lovely when it’s clear and sunny!

    Claire2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Special doesn’t quite sum this place up - games by candlelight, the best view in the world (in my view), a pretty much private swimming cove and years of history! Thank you for letting us share in this place!

    Fran2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • A remote cottage on a beautiful, stretch of Cornish coast for those with a sense of adventure and a desire to get back to a simple way of living.

    Bella2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute treasure of a place to stay! We had a digital detox and went without electricity; turns out you really don't need it. We woke with the sun, ate when hungry, explored all the local beaches and coves, rock-pooled, met the local wildlife and enjoyed each others company. Nothing quite like a candle-lit dinner at sunset overlooking the sea, followed by a cosy evening in front of fire, and a moonlit hot shower outside. Just bliss. Certainly hoping to get back here again!

    Christopher2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • we loved the experience, the views and tranquility of setting, wonderful history, a great stay - Thanks

    Mike2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed here before and will come back: one of the most beautiful places in the world, utterly isolated, steep rock stairs down to an effectively private beach, gloriously primitive but very pretty and unspoiled interior with no electricity but tons of fresh water and a gas powered fridge.

A personal, reserved, numbered space is provided for free parking in the Polperro carpark , a 10 minute stroll away through the pretty streets.
The neighbourhood - Polperro is one of the most picturesque villages in Cornwall. A working fishing village, it is a bustling and vibrant hub which tourists and locals enjoy all year round. There is an abundance of pub, cafe and restaurants to suit every pocket and occasion. There is a post office, and a good selection of shops and day to day grocery suppliers. A larger selection of supermarkets and retailers can be found in Looe and Liskeard. The SW Coastal path traverses the village providing fantastic walking opportunities. Modern apartment with private outside space, ideally situated. Located seconds away from the river Fowey and an easy, five minute walk to the centre of the harbour-side town of Fowey with its beautiful river views and great bars, restaurants and boutique shops. Within walking distance to a lovely beach and a wide range of water-based activities. Public parking available opposite. Fowey is the perfect base from which to explore Cornwall's vast array of attractions and excellent walking routes.
This self-contained apartment is newly decorated and furnished. It has a tasteful, modern design and features art relating to the local area. With double doors opening from the lounge area onto a private decked area with seating and a barbecue, it is the perfect place to relax after a day enjoying the area. It has a well-equipped kitchen and a new, high-spec bathroom. The bedrooms have views over the communal garden areas and feature comfortable beds with memory-foam mattresses and pure-cotton sheets. The apartment is on the first floor and is accessible via both stairs and a lift. It is worth noting that the second bedroom has a small double bed and is more suited to a single adult or two children. The sofa in the lounge extends to a double temporary bed if required (bedding not provided for sofabed).
The apartment is in a great, central location, seconds away from the river and a 5 minute walk into the centre of Fowey. The walk into town is relatively flat (rare for Fowey, it gets pretty hilly off the central streets!). Parking is available immediately outside the apartment (again, rare for Fowey!). There is a great ice cream shop a minute from the apartment. Kayaks can be rented across the road from the apartment building. The car and foot ferry to Boddinick and beyond is very easily accessible and you can drive to and from the apartment without the need to go through the town centre. See here for a birds-eye view of Fowey www.foweyharbour.co.uk/360.

  • Very friendly host who was easy to stay in touch with and allowed us to check in early. The apartment is modern and stylish and very comfortable. It's beautifully clean and a short stroll from the centre of Fowey. We loved staying there and would highly recommend it for a visit to Fowey.

  • A lovely, comfortable and convenient sparkling clean flat, with some very thoughtful touches such as Netflix and a bluetooth speaker. Easy parking across the street and even a lift to get your suitcases upstairs.

  • Lovely clean flat with everything you could need. Super comfy beds and (my personal favourite...) sharp knives in the kitchen! Useful little bits available like tea and coffee, and a phone charger! Its tucked up into the cliff so a little dark without much of a view, but 5 minute walk into town and parking directly opposite. We had a lovely few days exploring and would go back!

  • This is a extremely well appointed flat. Lots of nice touches, very comfortable and stylish decor. Good location for the centre of Fowey. Kerry was also prompt to respond and accommodating about arrival and checking out times.

  • A modern and stylish apartment just a short walk from Fowey high street. The public car park is handily just across the road and has reasonable charges. The apartment itself is well appointed and finished to a high standard. Fowey is a lovely Cornish village with a nice mix of old and new pubs, restaurants and cafes.

  • We had such a wonderful stay at Kerry’s place. It’s in an excellent location along the high street, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Fowey. The house is sparkling clean, stylishly decorated and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we had a brilliantly restful weekend as a result. Kerry was great to deal with; very quick to respond and helpful with suggestions. We’re already thinking about when we can come back and stay here!

Elegant bedroom with a small sitting room and ensuite bathroom in a quirky Cornish Cottage. Wyvell cottage is surrounded by gently rolling hills close to the Lerryn River (where "Wind In the WIllows" was written) and about 3 miles from the historic harbour town of Fowey. This secret little corner of Cornwall with its hidden coves, dramatic cliffs and stunning walks is a far cry from hectic holiday camps and crowded beaches. Bird watchers ....... dont forget your binoculars!!!
Although this is advertised as bed and breakfast, there is a laundry room to the side of the house which has a fridge /freezer, and basic kitchen requirements, although no cooker. Feel free to buy your own food and have a barbeque under the wisteria or pack a picnic for the beach . Washing machine and dryer are available for longer stays. I do have extra bedrooms and can accommodate up to 2 children in a twin room or 2 adults in a double room so long as they are prepared to share your bathroom. Please chat to me if this is something you would like to do! I also have a Shepherds hut in the garden(please see my other listing) which accommodates 2 adults in style and comfort!
This part of Cornwall is sometimes referred to as Du Maurier country as it is the back drop to many of her novels and her house can be seen perched above Fowey Harbour by the Bodinnick Ferry. The Bodinnick Ferry is just 3 miles away and takes you directly into Fowey with its harbourside cafes, restaurants and shops. In the centre of Fowey you will find an unusual little aquarium full of interesting local fish including the grandson of Lenny the Lobster!! Take a boat from Fowey to Mevagissey (about an hours boat ride along the coast) and you will likely spot some seals sunning themselves! Hop onto another little ferry and go over to Polruan to eat THE freshest and MOST delicious mussels in Cornwall! There is a great Kayack tour of the harbour which takes about 3 hours (including a stop for cream tea...off course!) Here you will learn some fascinating insights into the history of Fowey and as well as paddling over oyster beds, you will float over a marine conservation area where seahorses breed. If you would like me to book this for you in advance let me know or you can book it through Airbnb on the activity page. This area is also the setting for many of the Rosamund Pilcher stories and the German T.V. Series is filmed in and around this part of Cornwall. Not far from Lerryn is the great estate of Lanhydrock. One of the most perfectly preserved great houses of England. It has formal gardens, river walks and the house and stables are a fascinating insight into how these great houses functioned. The village of Lerryn is sited on the estuary and here you can find the Lerryn River Stores with all essentials including great cream teas (on the green by the river) and yummy ice creams !! Ramblers and walkers will be spoilt for choice round here with many walks starting on the doorstep. Off course the famous Eden project is not far as well as the Lost Gardens Of Heligan and many other famous Cornish gardens and historical houses. Charlestown harbour is not far and Poldark lovers will recognize it as the set for many of the harbour scenes. So........... I think you've got the point!! Its an area full of interest and things to do come rain or shine.
  • Everything was really great. Monica is truly a super host. Very friendly and helpful. We will come back. :)

  • The beautiful cottage was set in a scenic area sandwiched between nearby village of Lerryn and Fowey town just across the water. Our room was immaculate with a lovely comfortable bed. Monica gave us a warm welcome and also provided a little private sitting area attached to our room and sole use of the bathroom. Lovely touches such as fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange alongside our croissants and fresh coffee was much appreciated. Monica, without intrusion, was happy to chat and tell us about the local area but equally allowed us as much privacy we would like including a separate outside area to sit and have a drink should we wish. A very memorable and enjoyable stay and we both look forward to returning in the future. Tom & Yvonne

  • My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights with Monica (the owner) in her beautiful Cornish home and loved every second. We gave her less than 24hrs notice, yet were greeted with a warm smile and very professional manner.... this lady knows what she is doing! Our room was very sweet, cosy, and our bathroom was spotlessly clean. Monica was extremely warm and helpful, yet equally she gave us our space and welcomed us to enjoy her garden and spend time with her fab 2 dogs... The lovely reviews which other people have left are all correct. This is a lovely place to stay, far, far, far nicer than a hotel, extremely good value for money, and both my girlfriend and I left feeling that we will really miss the place! if you are fortunate enough to discover Monica's room is available, or her lovely 'shepherd's hut' outside, then snap them up quickly.... you will not be disappointed! It's a happy place in a beautiful position...-Even the animals (swallows/swifts/squirrels/wood pigeons) seem happy here. Iain and Davina x

  • A beautiful typical English cottage with fantastic garden. The owner has personally refurbished this neglected plot. The results are impressive. Lovely bathroom with even a small bath, the bedroom has a wonderful double bed, we never slept so well in no time. Next to our bedroom was a small sitting room with a wonderful library from which I was able to read 1 book. The cottage has no private entrance but is still very private. The area is fantastic Fowey, Polruan where you can take the ferry. But Monica has all the tips.

  • Lovely quiet cottage to put your head down after exploring the Cornish countryside. Nice touch with the TV and amazon fire / Netflix to watch something before bed. Good local knowledge form the host and a nice light breakfast to kick start your day.

Our Apartment is on the first floor of a two storey building, situated in the lovely Cornish village of Downderry. The village is on the coast with a small fishing fleet and unspoilt stony / rocky beach, fantastic rockpools too. Within a 10 minute walk there is a Vegan cafe, a Restaurant / Deli, a village shop and a traditional English pub with great sea views.
This area of Cornwall is often called the forgotten corner, whilst it is popular there are fewer crowds here than in other parts. There are many gardens and estates to visit in this compact area, including Edgcumbe House, Trematon gardens, Pentillie House (Delicious series - Dawn French) and Antony House (Alice in Wonderland). We are also conveniently situated for walking on the extensive south west coast path. The Village itself is also well situated for visiting Looe, Kingsand, Cawsand , and Polperro. If you want to try something different catch the passenger ferry from Cremyl and spend time in Royal William yard in Plymouth across the river Tamar.
Our village is generally quiet and friendly. The homes are well cared for and there is a pride in our community.
  • Had a wonderful stay at Kevin’s place, it was cute and cosy with everything we needed for a short stay. Great location with a short walk to the beachfront and local pub overlooking the sea. Loved waking up to the incredible view from the living area and balcony. Really enjoyed the walks through the nearby Seaton Valley Park. Highly recommended!

  • Lovely stay in fact it was that nice we have booked it again in July 2020 for Two weeks. my only grumble is not about the place we stayed but about the Great Blacked Back Gulls who bombed my car in. other than that the place we stayed and the area we visited was fantastic. The View at Whitsand Bay and Crumplehorn Inn in Polperro are fantastic as was the ambiance in the Blue Peter in Polperro.

  • Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful apartment, situated in the lovely village of Downderry. We arrived on the 28th October to a clean apartment with a lovely gesture of dairy essentials left for us in the fridge, this was very much appreciated. The apartment was fully equipt with everyday items which we could freely use. Thank you once again for letting us stay at your apartment. Hope to stay again soon. Kind Regards Rhys and Gareth

An absolutely stunning apartment. Overlooking the whole of Fowey harbour, this beautifully presented apartment offers fabulous views from the living room and kitchen, and provides a flexible bedroom layout for either couples or friends staying in this brilliant waterside location. Just a couple of hundred yards from the Lugger Inn and the town quay at the centre of this quintessential Cornish fishing village.
Located right in the heart of the historic harbour village of Polruan on the eastern side of the Fowey estuary, this completely refurbished and modernised apartment offers amazing views of the whole of Fowey harbour. Polruan itself boasts two pubs, a cafe, a bakery, and a small village shop, and it is just a 4 minute ferry ride across the river to Fowey with its fantastic range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Cornwall of course has many and varied attractions and activities, but, be warned, you may find that with the fantastic beaches, breathtaking scenery, stunning coastal walks, all of the water based activities - harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, self-drive motor boats - and so on, that you don't feel much like leaving the Fowey estuary at all! Take particular care when you pause briefly to sit on the window seat in the sitting room of the Captain's Cabin, you could lose a couple of unplanned, but contented, hours just watching and enjoying all of the activity in the harbour. The passenger ferry runs until 11pm from May through to September which makes staying in Polruan and enjoying the delights of Fowey an easy possibility. Your car can be left either in the Polruan car park or in the Fowey Car Park, should you feel like visiting another part of Cornwall, although crossing the estuary is quite easy via the Bodinnick car ferry. The Captain'sCabin itself is on the ground floor of the building with access through a shared entrance. The apartment is all on one level with the living room to the front, enjoying the fantastic view of the harbour through the enormous bay windows. There is a cosy wood burning stove in the living room which makes the apartment super warm when running. The kitchen is in a galley style and also enjoys the views. The bedroom to the rear benefits from a 6' double bed that can be split into two 3' singles if that is your preference for sleeping arrangements. This makes the apartment ideal for just a couple of friends sharing as well as couples. Ground Floor only: Entrance hall, living room, fully fitted kitchen, shower room with WC and bedroom with either a 6' double bed or two 3' single beds.
Polruan is based on the south coast of Cornwall on the river Fowey. It is a small village with only one road in or out. There are two pubs in the village, The Lugger and The Russell Inn, both offer an excellent range of food at very reasonable prices. From the quay you will find a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. The journey taking about 4 minutes. Being built on the side of a hill it has, thankfully not allowed too much expansion and commercialisation and as a result has retained much of its charm. In the main street itself (Fore Street - as you will find in most Cornish villages) you will find the Polruan Stores and Crumpets Cafe, on the Quay is The WinklePicker Shop (which is also the Post Office). There is a fabulous walk around the Fowey Estuary called the "Hall Walk" which takes in both ferries and Pont Pill Creek and offers some fabulous views - this is well worth doing. The coastal path offers breathtaking views and access to some fabulous beaches such as Lansallos and Lantic Bay, two of Cornwall's hidden gems. Just across the estuary is Fowey (pronounced Foy) one of the most iconic places in Cornwall. Like Polruan it is set on the steep banks of the estuary, the narrow streets and alleys are just great to explore and there are numerous small shops and boutiques, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Views of the harbour are dramatic. Life in Polruan and Fowey revolves around the water. The local fishing fleet land the freshest catches and local specialities include mussels, oysters, clams, crab & lobster. Alongside the fantastic beaches there are many other water based activities to get involved in: Harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, swimming, self-drive motor boats, I understand there is a picnic boat you can hire... and so on. Life on the water culminates in August with the the Polruan and Fowey Regattas where yacht racing takes place all week. Watch the historic Falmouth Working Boats racing in the close confines of the estuary or enjoy the many landbased festivities around the estuary. There are countless attractions near to the Captain's Cabin including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House & Gardens, the beautiful Luxulyan Valley and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Par duck ponds & woodland walks link to the Clay trail's long distance cycle paths. For garden lovers there are many open gardens to explore including Marsh villa Garden. You are in the heart of Du Maurier country with many places to find on the literary trail. Consult the guide books & folders in the cottage & explore to your hearts content!
  • Gorgeous views, quiet and serene. Have stayed here twice and loved it.

  • The most beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. Everything was perfect from start to finish, from excellent communication to the most exquisite attention to detail throughout the apartment. Could not have asked for a better place to spend my birthday. Just perfect.

  • The many positive comments about this holiday let and its host Jeremy are all certainly true. We arrived to find the Captain's Cabin to be warm and clean with a stylish decor. What a thoughtful and welcome touch the bottle of fizz and homemade brownies was. No one could fail to be impressed by the unobstructed scenery from the bay window in the living room. The large bed was complimented with a cosy duvet and sumptuous pillows. Jeremy has provided an informative 'Welcome Book' which we found very useful for finding out about walks, eating out and general information regarding the surrounding location. The very local Lugger Pub mentioned was a great find for craft beer and good food - I can recommend the lemon sole and steak pie; the menu changes daily. We don't think you'll fail to fall in love with this idyllic place.

  • Fantastic place - beautiful views and flat very well equipped with everything you need.

    Max2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous peaceful getaway. The window in the front room looks across the river estuary and never fails to give you peace. The town is great and the apartment is just perfect, cozy, comfortable and clean. Just wish we booked an extra night to enjoy Polruan and the b n b even more! Will be back.

    Peter2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem of an apartment, the views are to die for and will keep you sat in the bay window just watching all day ! The fizz and brownies were a lovely touch but I especially liked the fresh flowers. Everything was totally spotless and clean, i was worried about the cream carpet so my husband was made to take his shoes off in hallway especially after a trip to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We unloaded our car at the teashop and then parked in the car park, just remember to keep lots of change handy for this. Totally quiet at night as not near any traffic, but quite steep if you have any mobility problems. We loved it and as it says `once you are there , there is no need to go anywhere` ! We would like to go back in the Summer.

    Clare2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure there is anything we can add to all the glowing reviews of this place. It is everything people say it is, and more – Jeremy is a superb host, and the photos can never do this place justice. It is stunning, and the view will be something you'll never forget. The town itself is within minutes of incredible country walks, friendly pubs and a charming ferry ride to Fowey. We wished we could've stayed for an entire week.

  • The cottage was quaint and cosy, the location was brilliant, a short walk into the wonderful little town full of shops and restaurant with ever so friendly staff. Fowey is one of the brilliant little gems of Cornwall and hasn’t been spoilt by modern architecture, it really did feel like being back in time. We definitely would recommend this house and the location.

    Denny2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely house with fantastic views over the estuary from the first and second floors. Fowey itself is a lovely little town with the right mix of amenities and shops whilst maintaining that unspoilt fishing village feel in and around the centre.

  • Scenic views that can’t be described until they are actually seen. Perfect location for easy access to Fowey and surrounding areas. Highly recommended.

  • Beam Reach is a very comfortable and spacious cottage . The layout of the first floor kitchen, living area is excellent. Views from the second floor over the estuary are lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped , and the whole house is tastefully decorated. Beds are comfortable and the master bedroom is delightful. All in all we really enjoyed staying there.

  • As an English woman living in the US for 40 years, I wanted to find the perfect place in Cornwall - one of my favorite places - to celebrate my 70th birthday. I couldn't have found a more perfect place, or setting, than Bream Cottage in Fowey. Along with my husband and daughter, three friends joined us at the cottage for a week. It was perfect as there are 2 small bedrooms downstairs each with 2 twin beds (our guests said the beds were small but very comfortable). These rooms shared a large bathroom with bath/shower, toilet and basin. There is a large ensuite (bath/shower/toilet/sink) bedroom at the top of the house with a very comfortable king size bed. In the middle of the 3 story cottage is the kitchen/dining/living room. The kitchen is beautifully remodeled, complete with everything you'd need for a large group including a dishwasher. The dining room table fit 6 very comfortably. The living room is small but comfortable with beautiful decor and a door leading out to a garden patio. From these rooms, and the upstairs bedroom, are the most fabulous views of the river. Whilst there we visited many nearby seaside towns and I have to say I thought Fowey was the most charming of them all. Fowey is not a large, touristy place, but nestled in the little streets it is filled with many bakeries, pubs, tasteful shops, and restuarants. The town itself is very charming and the setting on the river is gorgeous. Driving through the Fowey streets is not for the feint of heart. Most of them are only wide enough for one car to go through (even though some are supposed to be two way lanes) Driving on the "wrong" side of the road in a stick shift right hand car took a bit of getting used to. The front door to Bream Cottage opens up to the street where a car can barely get past, so watch your step on the way out. One thing I have to mention is that if you are elderly or disabled, it would be quite difficult for you to manage the stairs at the cottage. They are quite steep and very narrow. However, 5 out of 6 of us were over 65 and we all managed slowly but perfectly. In summing up, this was a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous town and we enjoyed every minute.

Lime Kiln Cottage is a cosy, traditionally built stone cottage with a sunny courtyard garden and parking for two cars. The cottage is less than two minutes walk from the tidal River Fowey where there is a slipway suitable for launching small watercraft. A level 5 min walk will take you into the town where there are many historic buildings and a variety of independent shops, several pubs, restaurants, cafe's and a co-op. Lostwithiel Railway Station is on the mainline from London to Penzance.
Lime Kiln Cottage is tucked away, but in the heart of Lostwithiel. It is ideally situated to explore the historic town and visit any of the many pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops the town has to offer. The cottage is of traditional stone build with a slate roof and cobblestones leading from the gate to the front door and courtyard garden. There are two parking spaces. Through the front door takes you into the cosy lounge with open multi fuel fire, sofa, chair and dining table with two chairs. Through the curtained doorway to the country style kitchen which is well equipped with a cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. A staircase leads up from the kitchen to the double bedroom which has a clothes cupboard, dressing table and double bed. The bathroom is at the top of the stairs on the left with an electric shower over the bath. The garden nestles beside the walls of the old lime kiln with a table, chairs, bench and barbecue. The tidal River Fowey flows through Lostwithiel and is less than two minutes walk from the cottage, there is a small slipway suitable for launching kayaks, canoes or a small boat. The town of Lostwithiel is steeped in history, with an old Packhorse Bridge crossing the river taking you to the mainline Railway Station. The 12th Century Restormel Castle, Old Duchy Palace Buildings and much more, just read the many information plaques attached to historic buildings. There are lovely walks through and around the town and beside the river down to the Salt Marshes. Lostwithiel is an ideal base for exploring Cornwall being only 20 minutes from Fowey on the the South Coast and 40 minutes from Padstow on the North Coast, both coasts having lovely beachesand cliff walks. The Eden Project is near, as is the National Trusts - Lanhydrock House. There is a Golf Course between Lanhydrock and Bodmin. If you enjoy cycling the Camel Trail is about 20 minutes drive and is accessible from Bodmin. From Scarletts Well you can cycle the trail to Wadebridge then on to Padstow or going in the other direction from Dunmere will take you to Bodmin Moor. There are also cycle paths at Lanhydrock and for the more adventurous Cardinham Woods has a variety of trails.
  • We loved Lostwithiel and Lime Kiln Cottage! A gorgeous, classy little township with a fascinating history. The cottage was impeccable with quality towels, appliances etc. combined with a really comfortable and cosy feel, perfect to relax in. Sharon was brilliant to communicate with and her generosity will not be forgotten. Experiences like this remind me why I love staying in Airbnbs. Can’t wait to get back here.

  • Perfect little hideaway with everything you need. It is in a steep slope but anyone who knows Polperro will expect this (I’d just completed my first half marathon so was a little sore)! Polperro is amazingly friendly. Didn’t really see the hosts although right next door to them.

    Michelle2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin, Elaine and gorgeous pup, Dylan were absolutely the best hosts ever - so welcolming and friendly. Croftside Cottage is truly lovely, and our two dogs made such good use of their own private garden. Stunning sea views overlooking the quaint houses and harbour is really a magnificent sight! The few days we spent here; we made such fond memories we’ll never forget - and we can’t wait to return to this little piece of heaven. Thank you again, Kevin, Elaine and your gorgeous Dylan.

  • Great accommodation, great location, everything you would want. Will stay again.

    Mark2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy little cottage in a nice quiet location. We had everything we needed, with very clear instructions as to how to approach the cottage and the parking as Polperro has some very tricky narrow streets to negotiate. Good local amenities - shops and good pubs and fabulous views of the sea and harbour. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Sally2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect spot for a stay in Polperro. Great views, and all the facilities and comfort you need. Small but perfectly formed!

    Henry2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was lovely and had great views. The hosts even left bubbly, some wine and fudge and a card as it was my girlfriends 21st. A great place to stay and I highly recommend it.

    Adam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spotless very comfortable and an amazing view, certainly lives up to its photos. Kevin and Elaine responded quickly to messages and gave detailed instructions on how to find them. It was simple with the key safe to gain access and lock up at the end so we didn't have to arrange times to collect and leave the key. The welcome gift on arrival of the wine and fudge was a lovely touch and didn't last long! There was plenty of information especially of nearby walks with maps, we managed to completely exhaust our dog. Only wish we had booked a longer stay. Certainly will next time. It was definitely the best accommodation we have ever had where you can take your dog and amazingly Good value for money.

    Sylvia2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage with a fab view - easy access to the town and the coastal path! Two little bottles of wine on arrival was a lovely touch! Would definitely stay again :)

Little Brightwater is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the harbour along the beautiful seafront. It’s a cosy, self-contained 2-storey guest suite, rather like a little cottage, attached to the side of our house. It has its own front door and sea views from the bedroom & sitting room. We are just 100 yards from the SW Coast Path (and right opposite Looe Island) in Hannafore, which is a very peaceful & sought-after area of Looe. There is ample free parking on our street close to the house.
Little Brightwater provides smart, clean, comfortable accommodation for two. The guest suite’s private entrance door opens into the sunny double bedroom. There are glimpses of the sea through the bay window (which has voile curtains for complete privacy). The well-equipped little kitchen has a sink, fridge (with ice box), kettle, toaster, microwave and a single-ring electric induction hob. The cupboards contain crockery, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils and pans. There is enough tea, coffee and fresh milk provided to make a few cuppas. The shower/wet room is also on the ground floor, with loo & washbasin and plenty of shelf space. Upstairs is a small, sunny sitting room with two comfortable Ikea armchairs, TV, a small table & chairs, some games & local interest books, and a lovely sea view. A single airbed is available for use in the sitting room if guests prefer separate beds. Little Brightwater has gas central heating with radiators in every room.
Hannafore is a quiet area of Looe and has beaches and rockpools, tennis, bowls, pitch & putt. There are 2 (seasonal opening ) cafes and the nearby Hannafore Point Hotel has a bar, bistro, restaurant, spa, indoor pool & gym. Our area of Hannafore is very peaceful, the main sounds heard are waves and birdsong! Holiday amenities are all available within a short walk.
  • Superb host, fantastic location - takes less than 20 mins to walk to East Looe harbour. So pretty.. the upstairs sitting room is a sun trap. Enjoy :)

    Zoe2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • What a gem. Conveniently located, spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped, considerate and responsive hosts - couldn't ask for more! We had a wonderful family holiday and made good use of the on site facilities as well as the outdoor pool at Trelawne Manor, the beach and other local attractions. Highly recommend!!!!

    Joanna2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Superb comfortable accommodation, perfectly equipped and very clean; Located in a holiday camp with multiple possibilities, such as mini golf, swimming pool, restaurant, children's games, small shop, and I forget about it. We only used the pool with very serious, professional and courteous swimming masters. An opinion on the location of the accommodation which is located very close to all these amenities as well as parking with a reserved location (very nice), but which is also surrounded by interesting animals to observe for children and adults too, like rabbits, squirrels, hedgehogs. In short, no regrets, vacation on top in a beautiful Cornwall in a great accomodation, thank you Keith.

    Thierry2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Well worth it! The cottage is clean and cared for. The location is great. We have stayed here for 9 days with our two teenagers and had a fantastic holiday. Made beautiful hikes, mountain biking, kite flying, afternoon tea and cozy to the pub. Enough to do!

  • We had a really enjoyable stay at Tricia's-everything is as described with the added bonus of a wonderful host.

  • Tricia is a wonderful host. Loved the cats. Breakfast was amazing.

    Ibrahim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome & comfortable at her house! I got a little lost at the start trying to find the place, but she was amazing & came to find me in the car to bring me to her house! I stayed here alone & it was perfect for me! & the breakfast in the morning was superb! Can not recommend her any more, & if I ever need to I will be staying here again! Totally deserves her super rating!

    Tash2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really friendly place to stay, just like being a guest of the family like airb&b used to be. Communication was good the Trish was great with helpful suggestions. The stairs are a challenge and I would suggest that less mobile guests read the description carefully. I would be happy to stay again if back in the area.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Tricia over new year! She is very welcoming and helpful. The house is very close to the centre of Looe and has lovely views. We really enjoyed our breakfast and making friends with the gorgeous cats! Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • We only went for one night but really enjoyed it, the house has beautiful views and it good location. It's quite hilly getting to and from the house and town so you might need to be quite fit. Tricia was so lovely and made a brilliant host, and the cats were very welcoming too. Great value for money.

    Alice2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is a lovely, welcoming host & her breakfast is delicious. She gave me tips for the local area & communication before arrival was brill. The room is cosy & warm with a really comfortable bed, exactly as the photos show & like Tricia says in the listing the steps up to the room are narrow so be prepared for a climb. Perfect for a solo traveller on a one night stop over in the area. Thanks Tricia!

    Bethan2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is incredibly hospitable and the house is in an excellent central location with easy access to restaurants, pubs and shops. We were able to park on the main road over night as we arrived after 6pm though be aware that Looe has hills so it is a steep walk up, though Tricia kindly offered to pick us up. The bed is very comfortable and views from the room are great as mentioned in the listing, the steps up to the room are steep.

  • The apartment was as described in every way. Lovely and clean with high spec facilities. The bed gave us a very comfortable nights sleep from the very first night which is unusual for me on the first night normally. Chris was very responsive to our requests and questions. The apartment was well placed for visiting the local area and had private, secure parking

  • Highly recommend this place. It's a really lovely modern space, everything is of a really good quality and it was lovely and clean. Chris was very welcoming and had provided us with some fresh produce. Nice to have secure parking and it's in a lovely location. It's a nice easy stroll to the harbour with everything that has to offer. We had a great stay.

  • I think we were the first people to stay at Chris's place and we honestly can't recommend it highly enough. Fantastic location with onsite parking, the place is really well equipped to a high standard and we had a great welcome when we arrived. It is spotlessly clean and only a 2 minute walk to the nearest pub or 10 minutes to the harbour and shops. Absolutely perfect.

Everything is within reach inside this charming shepherds hut with french doors, knotty wood floors, and an arched ceiling. A wood-burning stove adds warmth to an enchanting interior, while a deck patio offers choice views of the Cornish countryside.
Lowenna means tranquility in Cornish and that's what staying here is all about. She is fully kitted out for a comfortable stay with a neat little bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, an outside barbeque area and the snuggiest of beds! If you want a real "glamping" experience without the inconvenience of outside bathrooms and shared showers then this is for you! Families with adventurous children who are happy to sleep in a tent are welcome to pitch their tent next to Lowenna in the garden. If you would like to consider this then let me know. Dogs are very welcome so long as their owners are well behaved! I have a very gentle and sweet natured Springer Spaniel and an old cat who copes well with dogs! There is even a dog bed especially for visiting pooches! I also have a luxury double room (see my other listing) and a twin bedded room in the main house if you want to come with friends or make up a group booking.
St Veep is a little hamlet situated about a mile above the riverside village of Lerryn. The nearby town of Lostwithiel has a supermarket, restaurants, antique shops, and little boutiques. The ancient harbour town of Fowey just across the estuary, has top class restaurants. Here you can sit and watch the colourful sailing boats whilst enjoying the famous Fowey river mussels!
  • One of the best findings in Cornwall. Monica was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home even before reaching the place. The hut is cozy, warm and has all the amenities needed for a long stay. It's also a beautifully designed space, with lots of attention for space efficiency and decoration. The location itself is amazing, the hut is on top of a hill next to Monica's beautiful house. Around the area you will experience some breath taking views of the Cornish countryside and coast. Monica was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. She is also very knowledgeable of the area and gave us lots of tips (the road from the hut to Polruan was particulary astonishing). I would defenitely reccomend this place. We will be back for sure! Thanks again Monica.

  • Beautiful cute place, warm, welcoming, clean and tidy. Everything you need is provided. Host are the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever stayed with. Before arriving late on a Saturday evening I had a phone call from hosts suggesting the weather her end maybe to bad for us to travel, this phone call alone made me feel very safe and trustworthy of the host. And she has done everything she can to make our stay enjoyable dispite the bad weather. Very highly recommended!

  • A perfect place for a nice little cosy retreat! Ideally situated to visit the area, this characterful "mini-cottage" is probably the cosiest place on earth. Monica is very welcoming and makes sure you have everything to be comfy. Thanks again!

  • Amazing shepherds hut in a wonderful location. Monica was extremely welcoming and kept in contact prior to our arrival. Despite the rain we had a lovely time and would highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a break away!
