Beautiful studio apartment. Historic Fernvale Sawmill office relocated by us to our peaceful acreage property in the hills behind Fernvale, Vernor District. Once owned by a prominent Brisbane Valley family, we thought it gorgeous and historic enough to undertake the relocation. Located 4 minutes from the township of Fernvale and the iconic bakery; 7 minutes to Wivenhoe Dam; 1 minute down the hill to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and at the gateway to the beautiful Somerset region.
Under 1 hours drive from Brisbane and 25 minutes to Ipswich. Halfway between Brisbane and Toowoomba , with a beautiful scenic drive through the Brisbane Valley and easy access to the north and south coasts.
Fernvale township hosts a number of cafes and pubs which do meals. Cormorant Bay at Wivenhoe Dam has a cafe with wonderful views and picnic and bbq areas and is at the southern end of the dam which extends all the way to Somerset Dam in the northern Somerset region. Both dams offer excellent swimming, fishing and boating opportunities. Other townships in the region are Esk, Toogoolawah, Lowood and Kilcoy each of which offer country charm and amenities. Fernvale township has a huge weekly Sunday market at the local primary school and Woolies is available for all your other shopping needs.
  • You will enjoy the beautiful views and the privacy of this cute little cottage. Very clean and Greg and Chrissie are very informative with the surroundings. Comfy bed and amazing Ecco toilet. Will love to come again for a chill out weekend.

  • Beautiful getaway so close to Brisbane. Great value!

    Peter2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect night away!! It was lovely to meet Norie when we arrived. She is very kind and introduced us to all the beautiful animals, which we fed with her in the evening. Even though the hut is quite close to the main house block it felt like we had complete privacy to do our own thing. The house is so cute and very clean, with all the amenities you need and so many special little touches. We had a camp fire and BBQ for dinner and watched the sun set with a wine. There are some fun board games in the house which we played. In the morning we had a BBQ breakfast, using the bread, eggs and spreads that Norie provided for us. I would come back to stay in a heartbeat!! Thank you again for having us:)

The cabin itself is sparkling clean, comfortable with a peaceful, green outlook and a has a very rustic feel to it. I loved waking up in the morning to hear the birds sing.

  • The Rangeview Outback Hut is a trip into yesteryear. We felt like a pioneer family but with a lot more comforts! This place is really unique. It is comfortable and relaxing. We loved reconnecting as a family, no TV or modern distractions......just time around the campfire, cuppas on the verandah taking in the views, talking to the animals, the odd chinwag with Norie and Tom, and cosy-ing up in the adorable hut. A really relaxing break away from the day to day.

    Chris2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Norrie was very hospitable and welcoming. Although place has a rustic feel the hut was spotlessly clean. Fabulous fire pit and deck. Thank you , Norrie, for letting us bring our Banjo beagle

    Helen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great weekend get away at a truly unique cottage with perfect hosts. Our daughter loved the animals and we felt very relaxed on leaving. We would highly recommend staying at Norie's cottage to anyone.

You can still drive to townships within a short time for supplies. The house is very relaxed so would suit travelers with children and/or pets. It is well designed with the large windows and balconies and spacious rooms. We didn't spend much time there as we were visiting family in the area but it would be a great getaway for some downtime

  • We loved staying at Patricia's place. An amazing wonderland of native bush animals to discover. We loved feeding the gorgeous possums, chooks, ducks, geese and turkeys. The view from the deck is amazing. We loved waking up the wallabies in the garden and birds singing and flitting in trees outside our bedroom. The house is huge, comfortable and fully equipped with amenities. My parents and family loved the native bush experience.

    Bob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A pitoresque place where you quickly feel at home. Debbie is lovely and gave us tips about the area. Our room had some extra privacy because of its layout. It is comfortable, cool and good for watching movies. The whole house has cute decorations and reminds me of a tea party doll house. It has some extra parts to chill like the veranda on the front and the garden in the back. The guard dog gives peace of mind. Overall a lovely, calm place.

Someone once said, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, not true. An old outbuilding transformed into our 'Rosian Cottage. Set away from our 100 year old Queenslander, this has its own character and a ambience with small deck to enjoy the sunsets nibbling canapes and sipping a glass of vino or a cold beer. Everyone who has visited, sees the Wow factor in this cottage. The outside a like rustic as you might expect from an old rural out building in the country. PETS. Refer manual.
  • What a nice little get-away in the country. Thoughtful touches such as eggs and toast for breakfast, shampoo and DVDs etc. Comfy bed and lovely bathroom. I would recommend for somewhere nice to stay to get away from the city.

  • Very tidy and well decorated cottage. A lot of charm, character and love in the cottage. Lots of modern features in their immaculate bathroom, whilst maintaining the charm. Despite the long stay, the linen was always refreshed weekly. Ian and Rosemary were amazing hosts who we shared many laughs and experiences with. They also acknowledge not everyone wants to have a chat and will happily give you the space that you seek. My partner and I loved our stay and their flexibility. We would recommend them to anyone and could not be happier!

  • Great value for money. Don’t expect a 5 star accommodation for this rate but the place is clean, cosy and Sharon is a lovely host.

  • Sharon is a lovely host! Very hospitable and went out of her way to help us during our stay. The room suited us well for the weekend, great bathroom and kitchen. Definitely recommend to stay here!

  • Sharon is a friendly lady, easy to talk to. The location is excellent to get public transport or to Ipswich Central. If you are travelling together with someone and look for value for money this will be quite suitable. If we have to make another trip to Ipswich we will stay again at Sharon's place.

    Hannah2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Sharon in At home among the trees was awesome. Everything was as described, so I felt right at home. Sharon welcomed me with a cuppa on the veranda and helped answer all my questions about getting around in Ipswich, even phoning the bus company for bus times. Every day there was an unexpected surprise of something else to add to breakfast, muesli/oats, strawberries, yogurt, croissant. Thank you, Sharon! Yes, I would stay again.

    Marie-Louise2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for money. Sharon's place is comfy, clean and she's a very welcoming host. Also 7 mins from USQ campus!

  • Sharon is an extremely welcoming and friendly host. From my brief stay I can tell that she only sees the best in people. Very clean and well described AirBnb accomodation.

    Kyle2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was very warm and welcoming and happy to help us with questions about the area. Her home is clean, and spacious and the inclusion of breakfast was great :) Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in staying in the Ipswich area!

    Kate2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying with Sharon, she was very welcoming, the bunk bed was comfortable. The room has a massive desk which was great for me, I could spread my work and laptop out and get some work done in the evenings. Will stay again in the future. If your lucky Sharon might even take you for a drive to see the creature....

1 queensized bedroom located at the front of our lovely family home. The house itself is a brand new duplex with quality finishes. I have styled the property to a peaceful boho vibe to it so everyone who enters feels relaxed and “at home”. Quality bed linen and memory foam pillows to ensure you get a great nights sleep. The bedroom is located at the front of the house so feels private and separated from the other living areas. You will have your own bathroom & toilet.
The duplex is located in a new estate that is very quite of a day and night. You will have full use of the communal living areas/ kitchen and I invite you to use them as you need- wether that’s cooking up a breaky storm or watching a movie with a wine of a night. You will have the main bathroom to yourself equip with a bathtub and shower with separate toilet. There is a small outdoor alfresco area that has seating and lots of outdoor toys. If you are a smoker please use the driveway not the outdoor area as it is directly adjacent to the kids play area. I have 2 small teacup chihuahuas that are very affectionate and will no doubt try get as many pats as possible.

Situated on a hobby farm of 7 acres, this is a private and quiet place to stay, the property is only 1 year old, built with eco sustainability in mind. We're approx 2kms off the highway with easy access to explore the Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Ipswich regions. The local communities and shops of Rosewood and Marburg are a 10 min drive. We may be at home during your stay, but you'll have privacy and may see us around feeding the cattle and chooks. There is parking for a trailer if needed.
We designed and built the house and moved in just over a year ago. The house was designed to incorporate elements of passive design to minimise the energy it requires, and has a 6 star energy rating. We harvest our own water, have a water treatment plant on the property and generate electricity via solar panels. The long term aim is to install a solar battery which will enable us to be completely off grid. The area is quiet and peaceful, yet only a minute to the highway for easy access, we're approx half way between Brisbane and Toowoomba.
There are a variety of coffee shops, cafe's, an antique shop in Marburg and several country pubs close by which have great food. The scenery around the neighbourhood is gorgeous with lots of country drives; there are also several golf courses near by if golf is your thing. In Rosewood, you'll find a selection of shops and a supermarket. Our location is great to explore the nearby places in the Scenic Rim, Ipswich, Somerset and Lockyer Valley regions.
  • Incredibly clean, lovely and helpful host who even went out of her way to get us our special milk. Beautiful surroundings and a big space for a family of 3.

We are positioned in the Lockyer Valley where the scenery is magnificent! The downstairs of our house is self contained and has a private entrance. The space is quite large and can easily accommodate 6 people. Extra people up to 12 at $10 pp/pn. It has 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom. All windows and doors have security screens. You are welcome to meet and interact with all the animals. Long or short stays are fine. We all can’t wait to hear from you. All backgrounds will be made welcome.
Our place is a newly renovated and lifted Queenslander. The real deal as the house is over 50 years old and has all the charm that only this kind of local house can provide! The downstairs of our house is all yours and is fully self contained and has 2 private entrances. We have given it a relaxing, beach decor that will destress you as soon as you arrive. It has 2 bedrooms that both have security screens on all doors and windows, so they can be left open to get that afternoon breeze. While there is a tv, unfortunately there is no aerial connection so we have provided a DVD player and lots of dvds. There are many of your favourite board games, cards and poker chips and a PlayStation 2 with over 100 games to choose from! We are on Vodaphone and it works well here for reception, we also provide WIFI so your phones and iPads won’t have any problems and you can watch tv on demand. This is for browsing only and NOT for downloading. There are also security cameras that monitor and record the outdoor, farm area so all cars and possessions are kept safe at all times. We have gone over and beyond to provide you with a wonderful place to stay with so many extras that it’s hard to mention them all. Breakfast is provided for you to cook with fresh eggs, bread, milk, spaghetti, baked beans and lots of different coffee and teas. Our aim is for you to be surprised at all the extra touches and worry about nothing but relaxing and enjoying your well deserved time off. You are welcome to meet and greet with all the animals as most of them are rescues and have come to our farm to have rehabilitation or to finally get their forever home. All are friendly but children do need to be supervised for their own safety when interacting with them. Please know that your stay with us benefits them all! There is a large, fenced, outdoor entertainment area of your own to use the bbq, Dart board, hammock, large table and chairs, a fire pit and there’s also your own clothesline and clothes horse in case it’s raining. People traveling with animals or livestock are certainly welcome as we can accommodate all fur friends in paddocks, yards and small enclosures. As we have a long driveway, There is no problem with cars with trailers, boats or caravans of any size, trucks ( including carrying livestock) and RVs. Camping is also fine on our property if you would prefer the more basic approach to your stay. You can set up your own tent or we have some available for your convenience. This can also help if you need your teenager to have some extra space as tents can be set up close to the house. Please discuss this option, if needed, when booking. Long or short stays are fine. We all can’t wait to hear from you. All backgrounds will be made welcome, like we would our own family.
All rural and farms surrounding. Did you know that a lot of the produce that graces the plates of Australian dinner tables are grown in this area. Atkinson dam is 5kms away. Tarampa and Lowood are only 15 mins. Fernvale and Gatton are 20 km and a great run for supplies. All these suburbs have wonderful taverns where you can get a lovely pub meal every night of the week for a very affordable price. Atkinson dam is only 5 mins away while Clarendon and Wivenhoe are a short drive. The information centre in Gatton has a car, truck and art museum, an old village of restoration buildings from around the area, and a great cafe. They also can provide you with any free handouts of destinations around here. There is a massive, public swimming pool there at Gatton as well if you need a quick dip (closed in July for maintenance). There is a rock and roll cafe 20 mins from there and lots of morning and afternoon tea venues if you want to take a nice drive in any direction. There are wineries, cheese and olive farms everywhere out here. You can continue up the range to Toowoomba and check out some lookouts and have lunch at the golf club that have great specials on top quality food like oysters. If you drive the other way you can explore Mt Crosby and Mt Glorious which are more of a rain forest setting. Come back and stop at Fernvale for the Wivenhoe dam which supplies all of the water to Brisbane. They have a famous bakery there that has won many awards for there selection of over 100 pies and we have the greatest markets around the area on weekends. As mentioned beforehand, All the pubs around us serve great counter meals at country prices. The Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are only 2 hours away if you want to spend a day at the most beautiful beaches in Australia. There are travel brochures in your airb&b space for you to make more plans if needed. Hope this is helpful. Thanks Michaela and Linda

Private quest suite, the rear side of our home - surrounded by trees and birdsong. Great for country breaks away or a base to explore the Lockyer valley. Pet friendly - your four legged friend can have the run of the large fully fenced back garden, with shade (can sleep inside). Relax under the large covered entertainment deck and look at the view, with your coffee or lie in the hammock, curl up on the outside sofa and enjoy a good book or siesta.
At the rear of our home is a private guest suite which includes - bedroom with comfy queensize bed, tv with telstra on demand, built in robe and ceiling fan. A private study with desk and chair for lap top use. Separate toilet and bathroom (with bath and shower). The laundry (in which we have created a kitchenette) has washing machine, microwave, small fridge, jug, toaster rice cooker, slow cooker and essential kitchen supplies. The guest suite is adjacent to our large dining area, that we don't often use - so is quiet. Outside there is a shared large undercover entertainment space with table and chairs and a hammock to lie back with that good book and listen to and watch the birds.
We are in a quiet street with large 1.5-2 acre properties, 5-6 mins from Laidley. Lake Dyer is close by (walkable), great for barbecues, fishing, boating, water skiing - permits needed. We are a 5 min drive to Bramwell House, 12 mins to Gatton UQ campus, 15 mins from Spicers Hidden Vale, 20 mins to Gatton. There are many farmers markets in the small villages sprinkled around the Lockyer valley that are great to explore. Laidley is a lovely country town in the heart of the Lockyer Valley. Antique lampposts still line the main street. There is a swimming pool, Heritage Pioneer Village. The information centre has a cafe and museum attached. A golf club that does meals on a Friday evening. There is an IGA supermarket, two bakeries, chemist, an antique shop, op shops to discover treasure in and other shops. There are a number of places to eat out - including Eagle Rock Café, with an old Jukebox and a 1950’s theme; the Britannia hotel which has live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. The QN Hotel (we recommend the lamb roast for two!) a Chinese and Indian take-away.

In light of the current COVID 19 situation, we all understandably have a heightened awareness of germs and the potential of virus transmission. As such we want to do our best to keep our homes safe and clean but we need to distinguish the difference between cleaning and disinfecting. All 4 properties I manage including the Cozy Cottage ..will now have 3 days either side of your booking to allow disinfecting and days to sit empty. thanks and take care Sandi x

  • We absolutely loved staying at Sandis house , the house was very clean and Sandi was a great host who always messaged very quickly. We would highly recommend staying here and we will be back again xx

  • Lovely liveable modern space with a beautiful big veranda. Situated on a quiet and shady street.

    Seraya2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sandi's home was very well presented, with everything you could need for a few nights away. The small space did not feel small at all, and was in the perfect location - less than 5min from town. Sandi was very accommodating - allowing us to extend our stay, and also to have our cat stay with us - as we were between homes as we moved interstate. We would definitely stay again when we return to Ipswich to visit friends and family.

  • Quiet and peaceful surrounding. A lovely tiny house that has everything you need to stay indoors. Great for personal retreats and reflection!

  • Stylish & quaint little unit. Very impressed with the creative use of small space. Top notch furnishings and the beds were very comfy. Lovely place to retreat from the world. There is Birdlife visible from the verandah in the afternoons too. Bonus is that it is pet friendly and feels homely. The area is quiet and family friendly.

Basic accommodation, a comfy place to rest your head.
Double story 1970s home. Upstairs (where guests stay) has beautiful timber floors, large kitchen, very comfortable couch and a pretty big television.
The neighbourhood is quiet, in fact we might be the noisiest in the street. There is a small IGA just down the road with plenty of take out options such as Pizza, Indian, Fish and Chips. There is public transportation close by and riverlink shopping centre is an easy place to shop til you drop or catch a film.

Cosy renovated Vintage 1974 Caravan with Netflix. Private access, parking in front of Van. We have recently installed a swimming pool so you can have a dip! The water is a bit chilli this time of year though! Also the landscaping isn’t finished yet so although there are pavers to the pool there’s areas unfinished. Toilet & bathroom is at back of house that’s shared with us. The caravan isn’t huge, 15ft so most suitable for two adults and one child or less. Perfect if you are on a budget!
We are 5 minutes by car to inner City Ipswich. Bus stop right out the front of house. Beautiful water park and boardwalk by the river for kids and relaxing 3kms away. Riverlink shopping centre 20 minute picturesque walk across the bridge. You have the Caravan to yourself which is nice for privacy and your own access to come and go through a single side gate. The newly renovated Retro Van contains WiFi, brand new appliances including fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and tv. There are snacks, tea, coffee, juice and some complimentary refreshments in the fridge for you to enjoy as well as cereal and toast for breakfast. Towels and toiletries provided. Big landscaped backyard with out door seating and alfresco to use if you please as well as clothes line and clothes horse at van. Shared bathroom and toilet in house and laundry facilities downstairs. (Please ask for help with washing machine) We are a very chilled family home, we aim to allow guests to feel they have their own space, are professionally looked after with all their needs. We are quiet, clean and tidy, but not too over the top perfect either because we live here 😊💜
Quiet family neighborhood, 5 minutes in car from main street in Ipswich. A typical style of street in Ippy with lots of workers cottages, Queenslanders, and post war homes. We are 3.1kms to the main Hospital and 2.8km to Queens park that has the Japanese gardens and Australian wildlife zoo. There's a huge childrens play ground there too. There's a gorgeous water park with bbq facilities only 1.7km away (20 min walk) that also has a lovely boardwalk along the river, where you can even walk across the Historical Ipswich bridge and go shopping at Riverlink shopping centre. (Kmart, target all that stuff) Great link what to do in Ipswich most things listed in this website is approx 3 to 6 minutes from our location. https://www.discoveripswich.com.au/things-to-do-in-ipswich-a-destination-on-the-rise/ Also worth checking out- - Ipswich Nerima Gardens - Limestone Park (great for exercise) - Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve - Riverlink Shopping Centre - Thai Massage Therapy ;) - Ipswich Antique Centre and Cafe -Rafter and Rose Cafe - Laneway Cafe - Pumpyard bar and brewery -Ungermann Brothers Icecreamery (amazing!) The owner was on Masterchef.
  • Lisa's service was great from the moment she met us in the driveway to our last goodbye. Their funky place was really homey and a great place to stay. I can't express how much of a delight her and her fur babies were. Thanks Lisa :)

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely would recommend staying in this little gem, the caravan was divine and the welcoming touches from Lisa were amazing!!

    Sammie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Caravan has everything you need. Its nice and clean and the bed is amazing. Loved the dive in the pool to wake me up. Also you guys welcomed me like we met before and felt so at home. So my conclusion: I loved staying with you guys so much! It was the best start of my amazing trip. See you next year :))

    Made2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really fantastic! 15/10. Really lovely people, quick to respond to queries and have thought of everything (notes about where the lights are etc). The space is exactly as it looks in the photos and is quite spacious considering the size of the van. Everything was clean, light was on for me when I arrived (checked in late), fridge was on and cold with little bits a pieces in there (butter, milk, bread, jam etc.). Everything you need is in there ( Jug, toaster, microwave. Even books, movies, directions and information about the area). Definitely worth every cent 😊 would happily stay again!

    Kendra2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely caravan with all that you need and sweet touches, including brekky items so you feel right at home. Also the back yard is a beautiful space and the pool was a blessing as it was a scorching hot on the day that I was there!

    Sharon2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Family ( including animals) were great hosts! We had privacy in a clean and relaxed environment. Access to the inside amenities were convenient, clean and accessible. The location is under 3km to the cafe on the hilltop / hospital and from there, it’s only a couple minute drive to the botanical gardens. If you are seeking a qwerky, hygienic, relaxed space that offers environmentally friendly products and a range of light breakfast items while remaining cheap on the pocket, do consider this back yard caravan 🙂 ☮️

    Faith-Tara2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoy the time here even it's not a long time. Everything are perfect here and it's very lucky for me to stay here.

Has been a former rental house that tenants didn't take good care of. Walking distance to corner shop and public transport. Basic house. Great price.
I like to keep it neat & tidy & I am working on getting it clean. Your room is clean. I am still chipping away at the rest of the house. It has been a furnished rental with a few bad tenants. I decided that Airbnb is a much better option than having full time tenants. I have had really good and positive experiences with Airbnb so far.
Only a few kilometers to the Ipswich CBD. Queensland Raceway at Willowbank just 19kms away. University of Southern Qld is less than a 5km drive as is University of Queensland, Ipswich Clinical School and also the Ipswich Hospital. Queens Park is lovely to take a look around, has a free mini zoo, childrens park & Japanese Gardens as well as a nice coffee shop & Lion's Lookout up the top looks out over Ipswich City. About 2km to the Water Tower, open till 9pm for outlooks over Ipswich & accross to Brisbane on a clear day. World class Tennis courts a 15 minute walk away. Kangaroos can be spotted a 20 minute walk away most evenings. If I am around, I can take you for a drive to see them.
  • A lovely clean and homely stay. Well thought out for her guests' ease...sensor lights, combination entry etc and Sharon is a wonderful host!

    Ailene2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Sharon's place so I could attend the CMC festival. It is a good location for the festival if you aren't camping - there is a bus within a minute walk that will take you into Ipswich and then you can make your way to the festival (or uber straight from her house). Sharon is a great host - very accommodating with my check in time and made sure to give us a great tour of the facilities upon arrival. It was a very enjoyable weekend knowing I had somewhere dry and safe to come home to. Thanks Sharon!!
