  • Me and my boyfriend came and stayed at Kevin’s chalet for the weekend after our Amsterdam trip was cancelled due to what’s going on. It was exactly what we needed, relaxing, isolated and lovely. Kevin and everyone was so lovely and so helpful with quick responses when we needed something. We were meant to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 4 as we didn’t want to leave! The hot tub was brilliant and we sussed the wood burning method out nice and easy and the chalet was lovely. The weather made it that little bit more special and the scenery was so nice. Great walks around the area too. It was perfect for a bit of time away and we had an amazing time. Thankyou Kevin we will be back :) x

    Charlotte2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay with comfy beds and comfy sofas. Kevin and Dave were friendly and welcoming and Kevin was fast to reply to any communications. Kevin was helpful when it came to advice on what to do locally and brought us some lovely bacon when he visited a farmers market. Thumbs up. The hot tub was an added bonus and was lovely to soak in of an evening. It takes a bit of commitment to keep stoked and get hot, but it was completely worth it. (It's not a bubbling one)

    Craig2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Its definitely worth it

    Alexandros2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with our family here. One of the cleanest and most spacious air b&bs we have stayed in. A log heated hot tub is a real luxury especially on a winters evening with a glass (or bottle) of wine and Kevin couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. Lots of space for our little ones to run around and I imagine it would be even more special in the summer. We went to a pub in Langport and Somerton, both were great and we would thoroughly recommend and hopefully will stay again!

    Jon2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a wonderful time here. The space is perfect, lovely comfortable bed, great shower and the open plan living room is great. The wood burner is a lovely addition and we used this a lot during our stay as it was very chilly outside! It really heats up the room quickly. The location is great also, lots of lovely surrounding fields and close enough to local amenities. The best part of our stay was star gazing in the hot tub, this really was magical! We hope to return again soon!

    Emma2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Kevin for a lovely stay off grid! The hot tub is huge and so lovely to be able to sit out and look at the stars

    Kerrie2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay. The chalet was great, nice and spacious and a good space for our two toddlers to run around. We also made use of the wood fired hot tub which was brill!

    Mark2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect stay in a perfect barn. Converted to a very high standard acomodation. Even the inclement weather did not spoil our stay. Would highly recomend.

    Ian2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa is offering just fantastic accommodation in a very interesting area. The accommodation is spacious and everything is well thought out(Vanessa has a great eye for detail). I can’t recommend The Potting Shed highly enough.

    Martin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was an incredibly wonderful stay. The potting shed has been carefully built to specification taking every small detail into consideration. It is clean, cosy and private. the bed is immensely comfortable, the shower is one of the best we’ve used on any trip and the kitchen is perfectly stocked for making all meals necessary. The eggs Vanessa left were a nice touch and we enjoyed watching films by the fire ( which she had laid ready for our arrival) and playing board games whilst the Bluetooth speaker played out tune!would be our only choice if we stay in the area again.

Sits next to a natural pond and large wildlife garden, across from the main house. Off road parking. Perfect area for walking and cycling.
    Quiet, rural and tranquil.
We are right on the edge of the Somerset moors that will flood in the winter and look spectacular with endless bird life. Climb up Burrow Hill (after visiting the Burrow Hill Cider Farm) and get amazing 360 views of the whole area. The rest of the year you can walk direct from the house round our West Moor, it takes about an hour at a good speed. The Rusty Axe Pub is 10 mins walk away in Stembridge. The Wyndham Arms pub in Kingsbury Episcopi is a 30 min walk away; by road or across the fields. A short 10 min car ride away is the Lamb and Lion Pub in Hambridge and The Firehouse just a bit further in Curry Rivel. There are many pubs within a few miles, too many to note here!! Ham (Hamdon) Hill Country Park is a wonderful place to walk or visit their pub The Prince of Wales. The views are again wonderful. The pub does great food and in winter has roaring fires and welcomes dogs in the bar area. It’s about a 15 min drive from us. From there You can walk to Montecute through the woods and enjoy their pubs or visit the National Trust House, or just walk the grounds and use the tea rooms. We have a well known Smokery and attached restaurant in Hambridge.(Forrest and Brown) A famous Leach Pottery and art gallery in Mulchelney, not far from the Abbey. Glastonbury and it’s Tor and Abbey are half an hour away. Street, for shopping, the same distance. The lovely and stunning Jurassic coast and Lyme Regis is 40 mins drive away. Somerset is our little secret which most drive through on the way to Devon and Cornwall. Of course you can still enjoy a day out to Exmoor or Dartmoor, many do. Not forgetting The Quantock Hills and the view across to Wales, on to Watchet and Minehead. So much to do. Come and enjoy Somerset.
  • Excellent place to stay A+++

  • Great little spot, if you love the peace of the country side.

  • Had a marvellous time the place was absolutely perfect. Peaceful and quiet. Would thoroughly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 spotlessly clean and tidy everything you needed was thought of. Eva the host was lovely. My dogs had a great rime with Merlin their resident dog.

    Lucy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Eva's place is spotless clean. The place has all the amenities you may need and had some books and information very useful. Eva was a great host; since we booked until the very last minute we left her place, being caring and thoughtful. I highly recommend this place. Thanks Eva!

    Óscar2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely tucked out of the way, relaxing and enjoyable accommodation. Highly recommended!

    Jonathan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Eva is a friendly host. She provides a very clean and comfortable studio in a nice country setting.

    Adrian2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Warm welcome, very quite, spacious. Some might find internet too slow, I found it helped me slow down!!

    Jo2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Eva's home is lovely. Our dog Blue was able to run in their big garden and play tug of war with their dog. We had some nice chats in the garden where she gave us useful tips for visiting and eating out. However, the studio itself has a small kitchen which is equipped with everything you need. "Unfortunately", it was still very warm during the day. Hence, we were not able to enjoy the wood burner. Btw: The noises in the roof are real. But luckily, our dog didn't really care.

The village of Curry Rivel has a lovely Pub and Coffee Shop within walking distance but we especially recommend the Devonshire Arms 10 mins down the road. We are a 15 min drive from the M5 and A303 so a great stop off point en route to Cornwall. There are many wedding venues nearby and we enjoy hosting wedding couples on their mini moons or wedding guests who are attending local weddings. We are happy to provide extra touches to the cottage for special occasions. Champagne on arrival, fresh flowers, home made cake etc. We happily make dinner bookings and offer a taxi service as and when we can? We are always happy to help as much as possible to make your stay extra special?
Located in the heart of the beautiful Somerset levels, we are surrounded by historic Somerset villages, Curry Rivel, Muchelney, Drayton and Langport. We are 20 minutes from Millfield and Taunton Schools, the well known shopping village of Street and Glastonbury Tor is definitely worth a visit. There are national trust homes to visit as well as Cidar farms, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. Beautiful walks and cycle rides along the river of Langport where you can stop for lunch at the cafe on the river. There is a village stores just yards away and a small Tesco’s, award winning bakers and butchers in LAngport 1 mile away where, on a Friday morning, is the village market and fish van who brings fresh fish straight up from the south coast. All in all there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area.
  • We had such a lovely stay! It is the most beautiful location and stunning interior of the stable block. The highlight was seeing 6 deer hopping through the grounds from the window! Jenni provided lovely little touches in the fridge and all the kit for our 1 year old which was of huge help. Everything was immaculate and in perfect working condition - the comfiest bed ever and the most luxurious bath, only wish we could have stayed for longer! Thank you.

  • We stayed here for our 5th anniversary (with our 7 month old baby in tow!). It was storm Dennis but we were so cosy warm and dry. It was bigger then I expected too so there was lots of space for our travel cot and playmat. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with jam made by Joy and eggs from her chickens. Meeting the alpacas was a wonderful experience (they are my partners favourite animal so such a treat for him in particular!). Thank you to Joy for capturing some lovely photos of us with the alpacas. Overall the whole experience was very memorable and great value for money.

The Coachman's Flat is part of a third wing of West House, where we believe the servants quarters were. The room is a bright airy private room with windows both sides giving plenty of light. The house is on the edge of the village of Chilton Polden with beautiful views of the Mendips and the Levels and numerous interesting places to visit within easy reach. There is a further Air BnB room opposite this flat called The Footman's Flat and a tenanted flat beneath, all within this third wing.
We have lots of animals on site here - sheep and lambs; a pig; cats and dogs; chickens; alpacas and horses. You may well see some of these during your visit! We also have a gym on site - CrossFit Wyvern - with a variety of classes including yoga and pilates and use of the gym facility (please ask for details). A chiropractor works part of the week from our gym plus sports therapists (again please ask for details). In addition there is a beauty parlour offering a range of treatments "The Parlour"; a counselling service and a fantastic cafe serving treats and diet specific foods (Fuelled by Liv). You won't be bored!! If you would like breakfast you can visit the cafe (closed Wednesdays) to have a delicious breakfast cooked for you or you can place your order in advance and Liv will deliver your cooked breakfast to your room for a small additional charge. Coffees, lunches and some interesting drinks are on offer as well. Alternatively you may wish to prepare your own food and use the microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle that are in the room. There is a Smart TV for your use. Access to the Coachman's Flat is through a door shared with the ground floor flat and a further Air BnB flat up a stairs; private locked door to the Coachman's Quarters.
West House and The Coachman's Flat is set in a beautiful part of the country - Somerset - and set just up on the Polden Hills above The Levels with views across to the Mendip Hills where Cheddar Gorge and Crooks Peak can be seen with Brent Knoll and then Glastonbury Tor in the other direction (from certain angles!) There are several local nature reserves which are wonderful to walk around and the levels are teeming with wildlife and amazing sites such as the starling murmerations. If you travel across The Levels at night you will often see a Barn Owl. There are so many special places which are within easy visiting distance - Cheddar Gorge and Caves; Wookey Hole; Glastonbury and the Tor and Abbey; National Trust properties such as Dunster (and then on to Minehead and Exmoor), Montecute, Lytes Cary, Fyne Court plus stunning scenery across the Quantock Hills or Mendip Hills which are wonderful for walking or riding on; Burnham and Brean are unique beaches to visit and walk on; Wells is a quirky and special place to visit with a breathtaking cathedral and Bishops Palace. Also Bath with so much to see; West Somerset Railway, Bristol including The Bristol Hippodrome - and if you are here at the right time in November the Bridgwater Carnival is not to be missed! So much to do and see!

  • A very warm (Dec 2019), comfortable, very quiet, and bright space with eye-level skylights that provide lots of daylight and that swing open for ventillation. The food preparation area is compact but well equipped, likewise the bathroom. Wifi download speed is "Somerset rural" - typically less than 1Mbps but with occasional, unpredictable, bursts of 3-4. Highly reccommended; I really enjoyed being there!

A newly renovated space providing comfortable and modern accommodation. Come and enjoy Littlemead at Chapel Farm and enjoy our space, explore the surrounding RSPB nature reserves, Wells, Glastonbury and you must sample some local Scrumpy! A great little haven from which to explore Somerset.
Enjoy a little of rural Somerset life. Stay in an old barn newly renovated! Ask to see the photo album - it really was tough creating this space... Sample apples fresh from the orchard and take a stroll down the paddock to the River Brue where plenty of wildlife and waterfowl can be seen. Collect your own fresh eggs from our feathered friends.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of being in a rural Somerset village where the gardens and paddock lead to the Somerset Levels and panoramic views of the Mendip hills.
  • Littlemead is so gorgeous and the hosts went above and beyond! We were 3 adults and an infant and the studio was more than spacious enough with a pull out sofa. Super clean and loads of extras in the cupboards such as milk, cereal, pasta, milk, butter, eggs and more. I could have moved in! Nice location, you can see the chickens, explore the paddock or walk through the villages or to a couple of nature preserves. Perfect! I could have moved in. Thanks for having us :)

    Loretta2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Book it! Don’t think twice. Such friendly and warm hosts, the most beautiful location and a wonderful newly developed place to stay, full of all sorts of thoughtful and useful provisions. Walks straight from the front door, past the chickens who laid the eggs left in the kitchen on arrival, out in to the most beautiful nature right on the doorstep. Fantastic communication before we booked and pre our arrival. This is a totally gorgeous spot hosted by a pair of really precious people - we really didn’t want to leave and couldn’t recommend it more highly.

    Emily2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect. I highly suggest staying here! The space was ideal, the hosts were delightful, and the land and evening walk was just what I needed. Fully self-contained but the hosts were nearby for anything needed. Beautiful stay. Thanks and will return!

  • Good, friendly host. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Excellent directions with pictures makes it easy to find this lovely hideaway. Perfectly placed for access to RSPB and other reserves. We were rewarded with great sightings of the 1/2 million starling murmurations and 20 of the rare cranes. We will be back!

  • This was a real gem to find for us. Perfect for all the RSPB and nature reserves we wanted to see and everything we needed. The extra touches of bread, milk etc were really appreciated. The freshly laid eggs were delicious.

This semi detached house is in a rural location adjacent to the village cricket field and pavilion. We are very near to Ham Wall and Shapwick Heath Nature Reserves - havens for birds at all times of year. Glastonbury is 8 miles away. We're easily accessible for the beautiful Cathedral City of Wells, Frome, Taunton and Street, the home of Clarks Village Outlet Shopping Centre.
We share our home with 3 dogs. All are non-moulting breeds - a Springer x Poodle, a wire haired Fox terrier and a Bedlington terrier. The house is in a very quiet cul-de-sac and parking is on the road.
We are close to the beautiful Somerset Levels were wildlife is abundant. Glastonbury has it's famous Frost Fayre at the end of November and carnival season will soon be upon us

The Piggery is a tranquil, stand-alone wood-cabin in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Ideal for short breaks for those who want somewhere quiet and like to get out and about. Situated on our organic small-holding, it has a double bed, ensuite, a TV and kitchennette facilities - kettle, microwave, fridge. We're 8 mins from the M5, with Taunton, Glastonbury, Street and Wells a few miles drive. Our village has a pub that serves excellent food and there is a convenience store 2 miles away.
Please be aware that we are doing some building work Aug - Dec 2019. This is at the other end of our house and well away from the Piggery, but there may be some noise starting from 8am on weekdays, and a need to juggle parking to allow access. This shouldn't disturb any guests, but we want to make you aware. The Piggery is a wood cabin reconstructed on the site of an old pig sty, hence the name. We rebuilt it in 2010 as the old building had a tree growing through it! Though of course you are very welcome to stay in, The Piggery is compact and probably best suited to people who like to get out and about; some people might find the bathroom access a little tight. Due to the dangers of the woodburner, non-mobile children are welcome, and those over 10. Please be aware we do not have a cot and space is limited. We offer a discount for stays of a week or more. We have a dog, Midge, who is very friendly though a little excitable. She is not allowed in the Piggery, though may try to convince you otherwise! Sorry, but it means we can't welcome other dogs. We also have chickens, geese and ducks, and sometimes sheep or pigs. You are welcome to visit them. The beautiful vale that we’re situated in is called Billicombe and the little hamlet is Tapmoor. We are on the side of the Polden Hills, facing south west towards the Quantock Hills. Glastonbury with its famous Tor is 7 miles away and Wells, the smallest city in England, another 7 miles further on. There are a number of well-known nature reserves close by, including Westhay, Ham Wall and Greylake. We're ideally located for visiting the Starling murmurations in autumn and winter. The site of the last battle on English soil – the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685 – is a few miles across the Levels at Westonzoyland. King Alfred burned the cakes at Burrowbridge, just off the road to Taunton. The world famous Cheddar Gorge is a short drive across the Somerset levels; the cheese storage caves are worth a visit on a wet day. The Ring Of Bells in Moorlinch is the nearest pub – under a mile away; with other village pubs nearby. Edington has a general store.
We're situated in a small hamlet on the edge of the village of Moorlinch in the heart of the Somerset countryside. It's a very quiet and peaceful spot. Moorlinch is a small village with a church, a well frequented pub (which serves food most evenings) and a garage. Other shops and amenities are close by but a car journey for most. The country town of Taunton is a short drive across the Somerset levels, with excellent shopping, cinema, 10-pin bowling etc.
  • Beautifully unique accommodation set in an area with stunning natural surroundings and plenty to do be it outdoor or indoor activities. Pete and Jenny are very welcoming hosts who cannot do enough for you during your stay. Highly recommend!

  • What a beautiful place to stay! Despite it being rainy February, The Piggery is set in lovely gardens which means that the view from the window is just so wonderful to wake up to every morning. If you want a tranquil stay in a beautiful setting then this is the place for you!

The Potting Shed is part of the original Gardners Buildings of a large country house. Beautifully updated to provide a truly snug and romantic place to stay. A log burner is the focal point of the lounge/living area as well as exposed wooden beams and stonework. Wifi, Smart TV and all you will need for a memorable get away. Well fitted kitchen with fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Double bedroom, shower/WC. Ample Parking. We want to make your stay cosy, comfortable and enjoyable.
We want to welcome you to our 'Potting Shed' which is a beautifully restored cottage-like place to stay. We have included all we can to give you home-from-home comforts in peaceful country surroundings. We offer a welcome pack when you arrive, logs and coal for a cosy fire and there is free Wifi (just in case you want to contact the outside world) ! We are very flexible so please ask if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable or anything that you need. Outside the Potting Shed is a table and chairs for you to sit and have your morning coffee and a small BBQ. As well as this there is a larger grass area with BBQ and seating for the use of guests located just across from the parking area. Or if you would like a little walk you can wander across the grass area of the walled garden and through into our apple orchard with a seating area looking out across the Somerset Levels towards Cheddar Gorge - if you come in September you are welcome to try the different varieties of apples. There is ample parking outside the Potting Shed which is set in the country garden of a large rural house in Chilton Polden, a village just below the Polden Hills. On the next door property is a cafe serving homemade food and delicious coffee and cafe which can be accessed via the wooden gate and across the car park. Down the driveway from the cafe is a gym which guests can book in to and use on a pay-as-use basis. There is also a nails and massage parlour on the gym/cafe complex. The village has a well-stocked grocery store for all your food and drink needs, a post office and 2 pubs within walking distance. If it's the countryside you like then there is Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall Nature Reserve (10/15 mins), Cheddar Gorge or the Quantock Hills (30 mins) or the sea at Minehead (45 mins), or simply go down on to the Somerset Levels for some fantastic walks around the area. The village is on the Somerset Cycle route so an idea place to stay during a cycling break to see the wonderful Somerset Levels or take the challenge of the steep climb up Cheddar Gorge. The near town of Street (5 miles away) boasts the large retail outlet of Clarks Village if you are in to shopping. A file with information of local places to visit is available in the Potting Shed along with tourist information leaflets.
  • Great space for a peaceful short break which was exactly what we wanted. Comfortable bed, very hot shower, woodburner and central heating so very cozy. Had the weather been kinder there is also a space to sit out for coffee a read etc. Cafe close by had divine cake as well. Will definitely use again.

  • Amazing. Not only is the place stunning quirky and spotless, Veronica’s hospitality is second to none. We staying during the COVID-19 outbreak and were able to enjoy the property in isolation, with Veronica helping to arrange dinner with the local pub, to an amazing cooked breakfast in the morning. This place is true luxury at such a reasonable price. Couldn’t recommend more!

The little touches, like the direction poster on the gate, the personal greeting, the hand made welcome card and a fantastic welcome pack. They make themselves available if you need anything or any advice on the area. The converted barn is spotlessly clean and comfortable. It has everything needed for a very relaxing stay, including a balcony with exceptional views across the Somerset levels. A 50 minute walk along the river takes you to Burrowbridge, where there is a very friendly pub that provides a good meal. A quiet house in the lovely village of Middlezoy on the edge of the Somerset levels. We have a bright and spacious double room at the front of the house with a very comfortable double bed on a quiet cul de sac in the middle of Middlezoy village….which does have a pub and a community shop, both of which have odd opening times….
There is free wifi and a TV in the room. The bathroom is across the hall from the room with a bath and good over bath shower. I provide sheets and towels and a continental breakfast of tea or coffee, cereal and toast can be provided at £5 per person ordered in advance and eaten in the family kitchen. Guests use the main front door and the room is upstairs. There is a beautiful garden which guests are welcome to sit in. There is a garage for secure storage of cycles. Please be aware that we have a cat called Fred and a friendly little dog called Rover. They pretty much have the run of the house so please be sure to close your bedroom door.
The village is very quiet so if this is what you are looking for it is a perfect location and you will need your own transport.

A newly built holiday cottage providing comfortable and modern accommodation. Come and enjoy The Woodshed at Chapel Farm and enjoy our space, explore the surrounding RSPB nature reserves, Wells, Glastonbury and you must sample some local Scrumpy! A bright and very spacious haven from which to explore Somerset.
Enjoy the best of rural Somerset life. Stay in a fresh, modern newly built cottage on the site of a dilapidated old cow barn and woodshed! Ask to see the photo album - it really was tough creating this space - but certainly worth the effort. Relax with stunning views and a lovely woodburner. No cold toes with underfloor heating throughout! Sample apples fresh from the orchard and take a stroll down the paddock to the River Brue where plenty of wildlife and waterfowl can be seen. Collect your own fresh eggs from our feathered friends. Tranquil and private - enjoy The Woodshed!
A great location with easy access into Glastonbury and Street. Clark’s Shopping Village is on the door step, plus numerous RSPB nature reserves, historic Wells and plenty of Cider farms all close by. Glastonbury Tor and the Somerset Rural Life Museum are worth a visit. Local farm shop 1/2 mile down the road provides fresh local produce. The Woodshed has a Lavazza coffee machine.

  • Joanna's annexe was just perfect for us and our little girl, we were able to check in earlier than expected and Joanna was great at communicating this. Location was lovely for us visiting family in Bridgewater and such a peaceful and pleasant place to stay. Joanna was kind enough to let us see the animals and our little one is just in love with 'orseys' and the dogs were very friendly. The place was very private and you felt as if it was it's own home. On arrival, there was a delightful and tasty lemon cake, which was a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and return when we visit our family again. Thank you again Joanna for our stay and we look forward to returning (especially for the cake)

  • This place was really nice, cosy and well located. It felt very blissful to be away from the big city of London and have a little place which is so remote you can't even hear any cars. Joanna really made sure we were okay when we first came and was super helpful giving us recommendations on where to go/eat. Very clean, contemporary and spacious place. Thank you for the lovley stay!

  • Yamuna is a wonderful host. I felt very welcome into her peaceful and welcoming home. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is just what I needed.

    Jane2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Unpretentious accommodation really handy for Glastonbury and the Somerset Levels. Our host pointed out a great place to watch the starling murmurations, and told us about the impending Glastonbury Carnival (which we sampled!) So we knew to avoid traffic congestion. A warm and generous host! We were given a fantastic breakfast - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, fresh bread, home made spreads, eggs... Yamuna shared her Krishna experiences with us and also offered her skills in a variety of alternative therapies. The reflexology was brilliant! She well deserves the accolade of SuperHost ...

    Elizabeth2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to get to Glastonbury with car. The host is friendly, welcoming and a very interesting lady. Everything you need is provided. Would definitely recommend.

    Alba2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna’s home is so peaceful & she is a very warm, kind hearted host. We only stayed for one night & were made to feel at home. Thank you Yamuna 🙏

    Emily2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna is a very sweet and lovely host, always checking if you have everything you need. The room was comfortable and I especially liked the garden at the back that backed onto the field for my daily yoga practice. As I spent time in Glastonbury it was great as only about a 15 minutes drive. Thanks again Yamuna for a lovely stay.

    Emma2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna’s home is a sanctuary and Yamuna is more than a host - she will treat you as family. Her heart is enormous; her attentiveness to your needs is vast. Her earth/fire nature was a perfect catalyst for the process I went through in Glastonbury. Thank you to my beautiful new Goddess friend, Yamuna! Tips: 1.) It is helpful to have a car 2.) If you are sensitive - bring earplugs for the country road traffic noise as the window is on the st. side of the house

  • One of the best Airbnb’s I have stayed in. Me and my family had a lovely long weekend at the Cellar Barn. The rural location is lovely, in a pretty village with a good local pub. The accommodation was excellent. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, decent shower, good WiFi, the best equipped kitchen I’ve experienced with Airbnb, unexpected welcome treats and the odd welcome visit from friendly doggies. Just what we wanted, I can’t praise it enough and well priced for the size.

Originally part of the servants quarters to West House, this part of the North Wing has been made into a comfortable studio flat with kitchen and beautiful en-suite bathroom including roll top bath and walk in shower. There is a further Air BnB flat opposite The Footman's Flat and a tenanted flat beneath. With an on-site quirky cafe; gym and exercise studio; beauty parlour and animals this is an unusual place to stay with plenty going on and choices of places to visit and things to do.
West House is set on the edge of Chilton Polden on the Polden Hills between Street and Bridgwater and overlooking the Somerset Levels towards the Mendip Hills. The main house is of Gothic Victorian style with a beautiful old Coach House set behind the house and plenty of other quirky buildings around. In addition there is a beauty parlour offering a range of treatments "The Parlour"; a counselling service and a fantastic cafe serving treats and diet specific foods (Fuelled by Liv) You won't be bored!! Alternatively you may wish to prepare your own food and use the kitchen in the studio flat. There is a Smart TV for your use plus a spacious bathroom with roll top bath for a relaxing soak or a walk in shower with a standard or rainfall shower head. Access is through a door shared with the ground floor flat and a further Air BnB flat (The Coachman's Quarters) up a stairs; private locked door to the Footman's Flat.
West House and The Footman's Flat is set in a beautiful part of the country - Somerset - and set just up on the Polden Hills above The Levels with views across to the Mendip Hills where Cheddar Gorge and Crooks Peak can be seen with Brent Knoll and then Glastonbury Tor in the other direction (from certain angles!) There are several local nature reserves which are wonderful to walk around and the levels are teeming with wildlife and amazing sites such as the starling murmerations.
  • The place is really lovely - we wanted a quiet place to relax and rest, and the studio was exactly that! Plus, great opportunities for outdoor walks in endless green fields! An amazing location to recharge and empty your mind. Host is very helpful, had left milk and other essential breakfast items for us. There are thoughtful touches everywhere. We would definitely come back!

  • Marg's place is great. Spacious, clean, great location and great amenities. Marg is also a great host. I've stayed in a lot of AirBnB's all over the world (As i travel for work lot) and I have to say, this was one of my top experiences. The added touch was Marg herself! She's great. Thanks Marg.

  • Booked at short notice due to storm Dennis. The flat was fabulous - cosy, warm and very comfortable. There was a little goody basket with wine, biscuits and choccies in as well as tea & coffee etc. We really enjoyed relaxing in the roll-top bath especially as the bathroom was warm & lots of hot water. In the main area, there’s a very comfy chair where you can watch the tv or gaze out of the window over the fields watching the chickens. A real treat, thank you.

“Surely the best turned out Potting Shed in England”.... from Alastair Sawday’s book “Go Slow England”. The ‘Potting Shed’ is completely separate to our own 400-year-old family home. As guests you have your own entrance door and key to enable you to come and go as you please. It is a charming, safe and secure, quietly situated double room with modern en-suite. Lovely views over the walled gardens and adjacent 15th century Church. Ideal both for single guests or couples.
Facilities in the room include a double bed with white cotton bed linen, towels, free wi-fi, hairdryer and kettle together with a well stocked tea/coffee tray and organic chilled West Country milk. In the morning guests are welcome to breakfast in our dining room. This is normally of ‘European’ style, typically with ‘quality’ breads (usually homemade), together with a selection of smoked/cured meats, fine cheese, eggs, cereals, toast, homemade marmalade, homemade Bircher muesli, Lavazza cafetière coffee and a selection of teas. Alternatively we can offer a cooked breakfast of traditional dry cured bacon and free range eggs. Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free breakfasts are also available. We strive to use organic and locally sourced produce and to be as accommodating as possible in fitting within your own itineraries. Breakfast can also if desired be brought to the Potting Shed itself or indeed on sunny days laid in the garden under the tulip tree perhaps or within the newly restored and fully productive organic Kitchen Garden. In any case guests are welcome to linger in these areas enjoying the plants and views during their stay. There is ample guest parking space on the quiet road in front of the property. Guests are also welcome to use the ironing board and washing machine in our cottage by arrangement. We will always of course aim to be around for your arrival so we are on hand to help with any questions about the room or local area. We have a very friendly flat coat retriever dog called ‘Fleur’. She is a warm hearted member of our family and certainly loves visitors. Fleur does however know she is not permitted in the guest accommodation.
The ‘Potting Shed’ is perfectly located within the heart of the historic Polden Hills village of Shapwick. It is ideally placed both for those simply requiring a quick, but we believe special stop over within easy reach of major routes. (Jnct 23 on the M5 is 12 minutes drive, the A303, 25 minutes drive) ; and also for those seeking to enjoy The Potting Shed as a lovely and more leisurely quiet base from which to explore this unique part of beautiful rural Somerset. The Avalon Marshes Nature Reserves are all within a mile or two; including both the internationally famous Shapwick Heath and the RSPB’s Ham Wall Reserves. Between November and March these reserves are particularly popular for those wishing to experience the world renown starling murmurations. These truly spectacular experiences attract visitors from across the globe. As well as for nature lovers though the ‘Potting Shed’ is similarly perfectly placed for cyclists, (it is on the National designated John O’Groats/ Lands End Cycle route. Likewise, it is ideal for those looking to explore the historic and exceptionally beautiful City of Wells and the towns of Glastonbury, Wedmore and Cheddar. These are all within 30 minutes drive as are both the Quantock and Mendip Hills; including of course the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Shapwick School is just around the corner....two minutes walk..... so for parents or for prospective parents the ‘Potting Shed’ would certainly be ideal.
  • Gosh! What an outstanding experience. From the very first warm and quick response to my initial inquiry to the farewell at the end, Matthew and Karin made sure my stay exceeded all expectations at every turn. The Potting Shed was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented with an array of houseplants, lovely lighting, warm, cosy and with a fully equipped bathroom (they'd even supplied 'Faith in Nature' shampoo and conditioner!) The following morning, breakfast was laid out on a huge wooden table in front of a roaring fire; charcuterie, cooked breakfast, rye bread, cheese and preserves and fresh coffee. The location was tranquil with immaculate dark skies at night and the Shapwick Heath Nature reserve, famous for its starling murmurations just a few minutes down the road. It was a stay I won't forget in a while and one that I would highly recommend to fellow guests. Thank you, Matthew and Karin.

  • Beautiful place, thoroughly recommended, very quiet, superb hosts who are really friendly and hospitable. Delicious breakfast, home made bread, totally attentive to our needs. The potting shed is cosy and clean, fresh white linen. A nearby walk away is Ham wall, magnificent starling murmurations.

  • The Potting shed was the perfect location for a weekend of starling watching on the Somerset levels. The Shapwick and Ham Wall reserves are only a few minutes up the road, so a great spot for anyone who enjoys wildlife and walking. Mathew and Karin were wonderful hosts, we were made to feel so welcome. The accommodation was lovely and they provided us with an amazing breakfast each morning. We look forward to returning next year.

  • Great little space in a quiet location. Plenty of choice of cereal fruit and some bread in the freezer for toast, jam butter and milk in fridge. Perfect for the one night whilst travelling home to Cornwall. Sat nav took us to the bottom of the road, straight past the Bragg's annexe. Gavin responded very quickly. We had a very smooth check in. Thanks for having us

  • Myself and my two daughters spent two nights at Gavin's place. We found it spacious, with all the facilities we needed. The girls were happy with the TV and WIFI, and the kitchen was well equipped. There was also tea, coffee, breakfast cereal, fruit, bread and butter which was a really nice touch. The double bed and the sofa bed were comfortable, and it was lovely and quiet at night. We would definitely stay at Gavin's place again.

Kate's style is very warm, cosy and country with a modern twist taking influences from all over the world using bright and vibrant splashes of colour to bring the place alive. Relax and enjoy yourself in the Jacuzzi Hydrotheraphy hot tub whilst taking in some fresh country air.
Curry Rivel has a lot to offer being the home of award winning pub The Firehouse Somerset, just 1 minute walking distance, open 7 days a week serving lunch, dinner and take away stone baked pizzas, along with some amazing local ales, ciders, creative cocktails and delicious wines. The Lodge is only 12 miles from the county town of Taunton which has all the amenities you would require. Other places of local interest feature Glastonbury (14 miles), Clark's Village (12 miles), Wells Cathedral (20 miles) and the coastal town of Lyme Regis (25 miles). If you fancy going further afield for the day both Exeter and Bath are 40 miles away which are both well worth visiting with their stunning architecture and history.
  • We absolutely adored our time at Lodge on the Green for our Babymoon! Kate was amazing and greeted us upon arrival to run through everything we needed to know. The lodge was beautiful and spotless, and the attention to detail was stunning! Highly reccomend

  • Kate is absolutely lovely and her place is stunning! Beautifully decorated, clean and romantic! The hot tub made for a really great evening dip and the local area is definitely worth exploring (including great wood fired pizzas at the Firehouse next door!) We can’t recommend Kate’s place highly enough for a lovely break and romantic getaway!

  • An Amazing place to relax and unwind.

    Steve2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous modern & stylish lodge with beautiful views. Everything you need for a comfy stay, the local pub is less than 5 minutes away & the pizzas are great. Ed & Kate were helpful throughout & provided personal touches to make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you so much.

    Sam2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t recommend more. The lodge is stunning; built and finished to high standard. Set is the quite country village of Curry Rivel. We ate at The Firehouse which we would also recommend for good quality food and cocktails. The lodge is very well equipped, and the finishing touches make this lodge a beautiful and highly recommended place to stay. A fresh loaf, eggs and coffee from a cafetiere were unexpectedly provided for us to make breakfast, as were towels and plastic champagne flutes so we could make the most of the extra-large Jacuzzi. The hosts are extremely hospitable, providing lots of information about the lodge and local area and, of course, privacy. Personal favourites were the mezzanine bedroom, rainfall shower, view from the apex window and the artistic design throughout the lodge. We stayed for one very conformable night and couldn’t find fault

    Ashton2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is stunning. We felt very at home and comfortable and had a quiet night's sleep. Kate was a fantastic host, a welcome book was provided with all information on the lodge and local food and drink options. We enjoyed an evening in the hot tub. Thank you Kate!

    Matt2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, exactly as described and more. The little touches are thoughtful

    Justin2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Communication up to the arrival was spot on,quick responses and full of details. Upon arrival we were greeted with breakfast for our stay which was a very nice touch. Facilities were first class with the kitchen compromising a cooker and hob, dishwasher, kettle (including tea and coffee). The lodge itself is modern, clean and very well equipped. Under floor heating ensured the Lodge was always warm. A spiral staircase leading to the bedroom. The views from the bedroom are amazing, especially if your awake at sunrise. The bathroom is well equipped with a rainfall shower and complimentary toiletries. Leaving the lodge you are met with a well lit path down to the hot tub. Very spacious and was a nice touch during our stay. We bumped into Ed on our first night, very friendly and made sure we had settled in OK. Kate had recommended the local pub called the Firehouse, which she made us a booking for. The food there is amazing! During a walk into the village we called into the tea room, also recommended by Kate. The fresh scones are out of this world and a stay at the lodge wouldn't be complete without one. The only down side to our stay was that we didn't stop longer. Can't fault Kate and Ed as hosts. Would definitely rebook at the lodge.

  • Thank you Julie for a wonderful weekend! We so needed a break away. The cottage studio was the perfect place to relax, couldn't fault anything. Thank you for your local recommendations - the pub you suggested was a great find. We so needed a rest after all the walking 😀

    Anthony2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little oasis in the centre of Langport with lovely river walks nearby. The cottage was all that you would want for a relaxing stay. (The bed was VERY comfortable). The shared courtyard was a lovely space with a fishpond and the sound of the fountain was soothing. Emma and Steve were always on hand if help was needed with anything and their children and dog were a delight. Our dog, Alfie, loved it! We'd certainly stay there again

    Maureen2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is compact but well thought out, very clean and very convenient for local walks, shops etc. We stayed for three nights and would happily return. Langport is an interesting small town with many hidden delights. Julie and family were excellent hosts.

  • Lovey place. Convenient for buses to Somerton, Taunton or Yeovil

    Lyn2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a lovely little space, hidden away behind the high street. Highly, highly recommend it

    Andy2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed studio accommodation. Very peaceful - hard to believe it is in the middle of the town and close to all amenities. Perfect location for exploring the area. We were made to feel very welcome.

    Kate2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Smith Cottages is a little haven tucked away but very easy to find with the directions provided by Julie. Number 5 is clean, compact, but perfectly formed, and had everything I needed for my short break away visiting family, along with my dog Yogi. The peace and quiet was bliss compared to our noisy city life! The garden is a lovely bonus. Great walks start by the river behind the property. We got to meet and chat with Emma, Steve and their children (who live onsite and help run the cottages) which made the place even more welcoming.
