  • This is a great place to stay. I highly recommend if you are looking for a beautiful private place. It’s close to restaurants, beaches, and nature. The room was very clean and private with a comfortable bed. They are the best host. This was our 2nd stay with them and we plan to have many more!

  • If you're looking for a relaxing vacation spot, this is it! Come down to On the Fly for great food, great company, and a great time. We enjoyed our mornings doing some sort of activity be it kayaking on the river, fishing, or exploring St. Marks NWR. We visited in July so in the afternoons we just chilled. My husband fished off the dock while I enjoyed reading by the water. Panacea is a beautiful hidden gem. There is more to do here than you would expect. But if you just want to relax and unwind, there is no better place than On the Fly. You wont be dissapointed if you visit this beautiful place!

  • What a great get away. Ronda and her husband were the nicest people and they had everything you would need. They let us fish on their dock, provided us with bait, and even took us out on their boat to show us the local waterways. Not to mention the location is stunning right on the water with a beautiful sunset. A nice retreat away from any busy lifestyle. Definitely will be back!

  • Sandy's house was so perfect for us. The surrounding area was amazingly quiet. We slept very well on the king size bed. We also loved the old vinyl record collection.

    Glenda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It’s very clean, modern amenities but with older charming furnishings. Very comfortable bed and a perfect spot. The record player was fun and we loved looking at the stars. Can’t wait to go back again.

    Sara2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip was very last minute. Mrs Sandy was able to confirm our request within an hour and we were in the house fairly quickly after that. The home has a lot of living space and the view was breathtaking. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with nice neighbors that didn't mind that we were up a little late on our first night there. Sandy had a lot of little touches. Things that one might forget. She also had games, puzzles, cd's and CD player, quiet areas for reading, lots of blankets, soft and fragrant towels. We had great nights of sleep in the comfortable beds. Also you can't beat the price, you cant get a hotel cheaper with all the amenities and views like the house has. We will definitely be back. Mrs Sandy was very nice and thoughtful and made the process easy.

    Laura2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house!!! Sandy is a great host and responds quickly with any questions. Master bed was very comfortable.

    Wendy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place!! The pictures don’t do it justice. The views are priceless!! We would definitely go back. Thank you Sandy.

    Fredy2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house with beautiful view. Took paddle boards out right in front of house and was able to catch some amazing sunsets. The kitchen and layout is perfect for a family gathering with games to play. Had a great Christmas vacation with the family. Thank you Sandy

    Eric2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • I can honestly say that Sandy is a gracious host with a comfortable home. She is a kind person and highly respectful of her guests. Her home is clean and is evident that she takes pride in offering her guests a great place to stay.

    Luis2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy’s home is a wonderful combination of rustic and retro with every modern convenience you could possibly want!! The spaces are open and yet allow for privacy when desired. The views are stunning!! Yet the best “touch” is Sandy herself. She goes above and beyond to make sure you have any and everything you could need!! Her personal touches and thoughtfulness make the experience phenomenal!! Her home is one not to be missed and is perfect for family gatherings, making memories and sharing moments!! We will most def return again 💖

..awesome for couples or your families holistay. 2 private wooded acres on 400ft of the Sopchoppy River with staff near by. The stilt home has fast WiFi and a large airy screen room facing the river for a great home-office alternative. 50+ miles of paved off road, bike trails & lots of kayaking (ask about our kayaks). Due to the coronavirus we are taking extra care to sanitize frequently touched services between stays & have switched our policy from 1 to 2 days between each guest stay.
The moment you pull up the sandy secluded circle drive you realize, just as we did when we purchased our home, how special this vacation property really is. The stilts supporting the home along with interior features, like the custom designed spiral staircase leading to the Loft bedroom (1 queen size bed), give a real modern day Robinson Crusoe treehouse feeling for our guests with an overlook down to a living room area the whole family could just melt into with the cozy remote control electric fireplace. DVD player & Smartv for streaming Hulu - “Sopchoppy River House Guest”, Food Network Go, ABC, NBC, CNN Go, NBC News, ABC News, YouTube, CBS All Access , FoxNow (limited access), (living room only) or your favorite apps like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. The beautiful faulted wood ceilings throughout the home just instantly relax you. Fully equipped kitchen for just about anything you would like to whip up from a batch of your favorite cookies to a seafood boil (large pot with strainer in bathroom closet - upper right). A fridge large enough for all the local restaurant leftovers. The large 4 burner gas grill on the outdoor deck with it’s river views never seems to have a lack of volunteers for grilling duty. Great breakfast bar area for hanging out around during dinner prep. We’ve taken to calling it the “Oyster Bar” but also a great work space if you must catch up with a few things. Just incase you forgot to bring a good book or game we may have you covered with an assortment of games & books to choose from on the “Oyster Bar’s” unique glass shelving area. Just before heading out the patio door you will find a nook area where the sofa folds down to a double size bed. When my wife & I sleep here we find this space comfortable, private & cozy. It’s a great space for the kids or 1-2 average size adults. The home’s interior seems to naturally draw you to the screened porch and multiple decks with spectacular views of the Sopchoppy River....a space where your sure to find yourself spending countless hours of relaxation.
Being surrounded by the Apalachicola National Forest & the private 2 acres the River House was built on make this a very unique & private getaway. Unless you are really looking hard no other homes are visible from the property. Approximately 2 miles from the town of Sopchoppy for groceries or enjoy the new park.
  • The Sopchoppy River House is a perfect location for a relaxed, secluded vacation. About 30 minutes away from some wonderful and less crowded beaches, it offers a great experience for those wanting a lowkey beach vacation. Cory and his staff do a great job of preparing the space and offering things to explore. We enjoyed everything they recommended. We hope to come back some day! 10/10

  • This hidden gem is ideal for someone looking to “get away from it all”, and perfect for an adult couple who love the unspoiled Florida wilderness!

    Roma2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Sopchoppy Riverhouse is the perfect Airbnb experience for those wanting to experience the real Florida. The house was suspended in the trees, immaculate, roomy, comfortable, and even more attractive than the pictures portray. I did a week there as a solo trip -- 'arm' days kayaking all along the Sopchoppy River, and the marshes from Tucker Lake to Ochlockonee Bay at Bald Point State Park; 'leg' days walking the backroads and beaches of the area; and cycling St. George Island (grab a bike from Island Dog adventure rentals and ride to St. G Island State Park and then walk the beaches!) Loved the authenticity of Fathoms restaurant at Carrabelle, complete with the guy at the bar with the blue parrot on his shoulder. Evenings were spent at the house, grilling steaks or fresh fish, a glass of wine on the screened-in porch, and the mood lighting catching the barred owl observing me from his perch on the live oak branch. Yes, you do need to drive to many places, but the central location of Sopchoppy made everything very doable. And the house would have easily accommodated our family of four (including two leggy teenagers). Finally, Cory and his cohorts did an excellent job responding to my requests/questions. His on-line and hard-copy local guides were great! I came home rested and rejuvenated.

  • Great place- would recommend to anyone- very peaceful place

    Adam2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Sopchoppy River House is a great place to experience natural Florida. It is relaxing and the property is beautiful. We loved the screened porch overlooking the river.

    Eleanor2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for a relaxing and peaceful weekend. We enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and the deck watching the river. It is close to kayaking, beaches, and hiking while being tucked away from everything. You are only a few minutes from Sopchoppy, and a few minutes more to Panacea or Crawfordville if you need something. Would absolutely come back again.

    Rosemary2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in the countryside. Ideal to relax in peace. The terrace with mosquito net is perfect for enjoying the view of the river. The house is well equipped and comfortable (including fans and air conditioning). Cory and her family are responsive and caring. They give many necessary instructions for entry and exit. Thanks again to them, we had a very good stay in Sopchoppy.

Quiet and relaxing recently remodeled home on the Sopchoppy River. Open floor plan with high ceilings and dramatic stone fireplace. Large screen porches overlooking great views of river. Near state parks and gulf beaches. 45 minutes to Tallahassee.
Visit the quaint historic town of Sopchoppy and be sure to visit the old Train Depot Museum. The home is minutes to Ochlocknee State Park, and close to several beaches including St. George Island. Lots of hunting & fishing and recreational opportunities.
Central location to many forgotten coast treasures, like Wakulla Springs, light houses at St. Marks, Carrabelle & St. George, Specimen Aquarium in Panacea, Fort San Marcos de Apalache in St. Marks. Two golf courses near by, St. James and Wildwood. Can't forget of course the historic town of Apalachicola.
  • You can expect a home that is immaculate and gracious. The river view, the grounds, the self-adjusting bed, the well-stocked kitchen and the antibacterial soaps and hand clearners (during this time of a virus) were so appreciated. Maxine was the perfect hostess and answered all of our questions quickly. The kitchen was well-stocked with not only cooking implements but spices, coffee, etc. I would return there in a heart beat. Sopchoppy is definitely off the beaten path but this home made it well worth the trip. If you need a true rest, then this is the place to go. Huge porch over looking the river, comfortable furniture. thank you, so much for the perfect getaway.

  • Our stay was great! Squire and Ronda were extremely welcoming and we felt at home immediately! They were so friendly and generous. We had such an amazing time visiting Panacea! I recommend staying here!

    Michael2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazingly beautiful house with a once in a lifetime view of old Fl., trust me as I’ve been in Fl my whole life. What’s better is the immediate kindness and friendliness of Squire and Rhonda. Wonderful people. I wholeheartedly recommend their loving home.

    Edward2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • With plenty of options in the general area, the reviews are what sold us for On the Fly and not only were they spot on our stay exceeded all expectations. We were immediately welcomed not only into their home but also felt like part of the family. Very clean accomodations, great location and a wealth of local knowledge to guide us to places to appreciate the old Florida uniqueness of the area. Can't say enough about the southern hospitality we experienced from the minute we arrived - from an invite to a local gathering, the incredible meals, boat rides and just good company we felt like family. Heartbreaking to have to leave with a storm barreling down knowing what was in store but we know you guys will persevere and look forward to visiting again.

  • We had a great time at Squire and Ronda's. A wonderful place to rest and enjoy the offerings of the Forgotten Coast.

    Charles2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome bread! We didn't share meals since we had plans, but it looked like great seafood was prepared for the other guests.

    William2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • "Panacea" look it up and you will see its literal definition is a cure-all. Let there be no mistake, it's exactly that. A place where the rat-race folks of the world dare not venture, where life's troubles and anxieties need not seek. You see, if you really want off the grid and disappear into a world of tranquility, this is where you go. If your idea of a trip to Florida involves fighting traffic into and out of a condominium, slathering on sun screen, carrying a load of plastic and junk down to a crowded beach to bake for hours, or maybe you even enjoy waiting an hour or two to eat dinner at an overpriced super cheesy "seafood" restaurant where you can take endless selfies and post away on social media at how much you like to get away from it all. Spare me, if this is your idea, then don't come to Panacea. Squire and Ronda welcomed me and my kids with open arms and provided everything we could have needed for our 3 day stay. Ronda is a native and can provide you with an abundance of information to help you navigate your way. Squire is a sure fire chef and prepared meals that not only did i expect, but they were incredibly delicious. I have traveled all of the world and used airbnb from Japan all the way to Scandinavia and I would put this in my top 3 stays. Please do yourself a favor, put down your phone for a few days, grab a fishing pole and head to Panacea. You will not want to leave.

    Billy2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • It is a super nice location! Squire and Ronda very hospitable, the first evening we were invited to join them. If you are looking for peace and beautiful views, you are at the right place!

    Petra2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing getaway... If you're looking for a relaxing weekend that is off the beaten path, On The Fly is where you will find it. There is plenty to do with nearby beaches as well as kayaking, fishing or just lazily tubing down the river. Panacea is a quaint little town where everybody is friendly, no one locks a door and there are no worries. Squire and Ronda are the perfect hosts offering warm, friendly atmosphere, great food and a beautiful setting. This place felt like home away from home!

Downstairs - 2 bed/1 bath. Entire House - 4-bed house for large families or 2 separate living areas for large groups.
Bring your beach gear with you, so you can take a stroll across the street to the endless beaches of Alligator Point. Public beach access is across the street on Alligator Point Drive to the left of the house. Pick up shells, make sandcastles, watch the seagulls, and see the dolphins around sunset. Or you can fish right off the beach! Join our family tradition: Grab a drink at sunset, walk down to the beach and see the bright pink sky over the water as the sun disappears over the horizon. Whether you are coming here to chill, fish, or play, our “Fun Beach House” is cheery and comfy with a variety of spots to play games, read a book, or take a splash in the pool. Both of our eat-in open kitchens with breakfast bars (down and upstairs) are equipped with basic kitchen needs to cook family meals. We also have two grills, one charcoal and the other gas. Our little cottage was built in 2015 and has hardwood floors and is an open living room, kitchen floor plan. The home has a large screened in patio for lounging without bugs. It is on an acre lot, located adjacent in to the St Marks Wildlife Refuge in Medart. The cottage is located a 5 miles to Panacea, and the seafood retailers and restaurants are excellent. This is in a quite, natural area. We are 25 min to FSU campus, and close to the coast for boating, kayaking, and fishing.
This is a quite, relaxing place. We are adjacent to the St Marks Wildlife Refuge. Both Queen beds are comfortable and master bedroom has walk in closet. Being next to the Wildlife Refuge there is the opportunity for an encounter. This is rare, but expected when living in the coastal communities.
Some really great fishing in the area. We also have some excellent seafood restaurants, and retail seafood outlets. St Marks Wildlife Refuge connects to the property, and the lighthouse and bird areas of the SMWLR is about 20 minutes down Costal Hwy. Florida Trail is just around the corner. Some roads are sand in the area. We are on a sand road, for a short period (100 yards) before it connects to an asphalt road.
  • Great space and host.

    Billy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and comfortable home in quiet location. My son and husband enjoyed playing ping pong. Dael and Doug were quick to respond. Both were wonderful on suggesting local restaurants and places to sight see. I highly recommend going to Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park and taking the boat ride.

    Becky2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We could not say better things about this home. It was set on a very private piece of land, like having our own sanctuary. Everything was spotless, and Doug and Dael went above and beyond to make sure the home came equipped with everything we could possibly need. The home was very spacious, constructed with all top notch materials and appliances - everything felt like new! The hosts were great and gave us many suggestions on where to go in the area (beaches, stores etc.) We would 100% recommend this place to others and really hope to be back soon.

  • The best Airbnb we have ever stayed in! Quiet, roomie, elegant. Time passed away too quick, we did not want to leave! The hosts were outstanding! Just a great place!

    Ruth2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! The pictures don't do it justice. We loved waking up watching the sunrise over the water. The home is beautifully decorated with many special touches. The serene yard and quiet area made it an amazing stay. Thank you for hospitality. Highly recommend!

    Melissa2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, comfortable house, a type of stay where you can feel at home. Outstanding view of the marsh from the bedroom and most other rooms with great amenities and beautiful nature-themed decorations. Quiet spot and well maintained property, would love to go back, even if just for the awesome sunrise through the window in the morning or the breeze on the balcony. We loved watching the birds at the feeders and listening to the osprey call from the water. This home is incredibly close (10-20 min) to St. Marks NWR and many other nature spots which is a huge bonus for us. James and Kathryn were helpful, warm hosts and were always there to answer questions and provide help. My favorite Airbnb to date!

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place, the house, the amenities, the view, the quiet. It was a wonderful base to return to after our excursions each day. Waking up to the bay view each morning, watching birds at the feeder, looking out at the tide coming and going with binoculars from the two porches, viewing the myriad of stars in the dark sky. Many thoughtful and comfortable touches - comfortable beds, nice sheets and towels, plenty of blanket options, plenty of storage and hangers, cloth napkins, toilet paper, tissues and soap/shampoo provided, drip and keurig coffeemakers with coffee, lots of dishes, pans & utensils, wifi, netflix/amazon prime, binoculars, nature and birding guidebooks, local interest books and tourist materials, thoughtful recommendations. We have stayed at a lot of airbnb homes and Kathryn & James's provided one of the best lodgings we have experienced.

    Joanie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house is quite beautiful and sparkling clean, with many elegant touches. Our favorite was the master bedroom bed facing out to view the morning sunrise over Oyster Bay. The location provides easy access to St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge and other nature delights.

  • Spring Creek and Apalachee Bay bring you as close to the old Florida as we have found. Lots to see and do here. St. Marks for wildlife observation, plenty of gators here in their natural setting. The boat ride at Wakulla was very interesting and wonderful wildlife was seen throughout the trip.

    Ralph2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here. It was such a peaceful setting and was so easy to get lost in the views of the bay. The sunrise was a wonderful surprise after a couple cloudy days. Great things to explore and awesome seafood all close by and James and Kathryn were excellent hosts.

Waterfront cottage with great relaxing space and beautiful views of Dickerson Bay. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the bay and walk next door to the Seineyard Restaurant at Rock Landing Marina. Fish off the dock or launch your boat from the marina. Walk around the block to tour the Gulf Specimum Aquarium. Just down the street, the amazing Otter Lake beckons for kayaking, canoeing and fishing—most likely you will have the entire lake to yourself. Be sure to make the trip along scenic Coastal 98 to visit historic Apalachicola and one of the world’s top 10 rated beaches on St. George Island. If golfing is desired, Wildwood Country Club is 10 minutes away or the St. James Bay Club is 30 minutes up the coast and Tallahassee has even more. Bring your boat and bikes; there is plenty of covered parking. For the young and young at heart, Panacea is home to the amazing Gulf Specimen Marine Lab, where touch tanks let you get a first-hand marine experience while learning about the sea turtles and myriad sea creatures of our unspoiled area. Visit the beautiful state capital of Tallahassee with wonderful museums, FSU and FAMU; you are only 30 minutes away. Don’t miss Wakulla Springs State Park, one of the largest freshwater springs in the hemisphere. Swim in the crystal clear water, or take a guided boat tour of the Springs to see manatees, birds and alligators. Be sure to stop in the historic Lodge and have a meal at the top-rated restaurant before leaving.
Panacea is an Old Florida fishing village originally developed around the healing local mineral springs. It is quiet and out of the way, yet close to everything.

The covered porch is so relaxing, I couldn't believe how quiet the area is. This is a great location set in the country away from all the hustle and bustle. About a 20 minute drive from St Marks Wildlife Refuge. We will be returning again in the future for sure. Thank You!

  • What a wonderful gem to find in the Panhandle! The house is private and secluded, but not far from all of the beauty of the beaches and states parks that make this part of Florida so special. The home is wonderfully decorated, and the kitchen is huge! Perfect if you love to cook while you travel. We also enjoyed the front porch, and our dogs loved the space as well. Highly recommend...a great value, great location and a fabulous retreat!

  • Better then I expected. We needed a place to stay in the area while we worked on the new Domino’s pizza in Crawfordville and this place was perfect. Thank you.

  • Great place with unique art and super clean. In a quiet peaceful location. Kelly was very responsive to all our needs.

    Gillette2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here while working in TLH. The commute was quick. Kelli’s place was everything stated in the Airbnb description. I was not disappointed. My husband and great dane came down for a long weekend and the place was very comfortable for all. Clean, plenty if cooking pots, pan and utensils. We used the outdoor grill area, was very clean. Had an awesome time in Panacea, part due to the place we stayed!! I would love to stay here again!

    Tami2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kelli’s house was wonderful. The beds were new and comfy . The linens were clean and pretty. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The outside fish cleaning table and cooking area was really great . Loved all the artistic decorations. The washer and dryer works great. The outside sitting area was great. Not much negative to say other than the garbage man didn’t pick up for 10 days, which meant for some pretty stinky air .

    Patricia2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • So enjoyed our stay in this adorable home, whimsical decor throughout and extremely clean! Lots of privacy and nature all around. Perfect getaway.

    Shannon2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was truly a gem hidden on Florida’s Forgotten Coast! Really nice and cozy furnishings, lovely art work. This location is close to several wonderful, secluded beaches. We found the local restaurants to have great food, and that laid back North Florida vibe. Our time spent at Kelli’s “Artsy Fish house “ most enjoyable! Would love to visit again.

  • This little charmer is a perfect FL getaway for a couple seeking a surprisingly spacious, well appointed bungalow RIGHT ON the Gulf Coast. You can hear the waves crashing from the screen porch! Laura is truly a SuperHost and responded promptly to every question. The space is clean, beautifully decorated and private. Definitely will be back! Thank you again!

  • We couldn't recommend Laura's cottage more! The location was perfect for accessing St. George Island and Tate's Hell Forest. It had an amazing view of the water just by looking through the windows, and we got to see 2 beautiful starry nights. The space is perfect for 2 people - Laura has created a really cozy and charming space that's also practical. We had everything we needed for breakfast at home and preparing lunch to go. We hope to return many times!

  • The Sweet Peach was perfect for our little weekend getaway. We celebrated my husbands birthday by going fishing around Carrabelle and St. George. It was unexpectedly COLD so we didn’t have much luck. But the area was beautiful, and Laura’s place was perfect for what we needed. She even offered us hot coffee when we arrived. Has everything you may need in a cute little package. Great spot that we hope to visit again in the future.

If you want a quiet get away. You have found it..
  • We were needing a place to stay that was relatively close to Wakulla High School for a weekend tournament and the local hotels were sold out. Not wanting to drive all the way to Tallahassee every evening, I looked on Airbnb and found this place...only 6 miles away. It worked out perfectly for us. The location is quiet and felt like a safe neighborhood. If we find ourselves back in this area for future tournaments, I wouldn't think twice about staying here again.

    Rhonda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as described. Very nice stay. Very nice place for a few days away. Would define stay again.

    Deborah2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a quiet neighborhood, in a quiet village. It has a big yard and there is a pretty park just down the road, so this is a good location for bringing your dog. Beautiful beaches with public access on Alligator Point also allow dogs. Florida state parks don't allow dogs on the beaches, but they are allowed on trails. We shopped in Crawfordville before arrival, and bought anything else we needed at Dollar General. Posey's does take-out orders and the food was really good.

    Mary2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

Located in the Florida Panhandle's Forgotten Coast area! Approximately 100 yds or so from the beach side, this 1960s cottage exudes old Florida charm... inviting you to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. The house is surrounded by state park lands and is very private. If you enjoy solitude, walks on the beach, nature and star gazing, you'll appreciate this spot.
Designed with relaxation in mind, the heart of this home is the huge sun porch sitting room. This no fuss cottage has two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, sun room, 4-piece bathroom, and an indoor laundry with powder room. Check out our outdoor shower if the weather is nice. We have good WiFi and a TV but No cable or satellite service. Local channels only via antenna or bring your own fire stick.
Super secluded: With just a few homes on the street, the neighborhood is very quiet. There are two state park beaches; one a mile or so to the left and the other a half a mile to the right. There are also walking/biking trails. Walking, biking or driving straight over to the beach streets is also allowed as we are a part of the neighborhood association.
  • A very peaceful retreat in a natural setting. The cottage is comfortable and clean, charming in the way of older cottages. We had a problem with the unlocking mechanism, and the hostess gave an immediate response with a working backup plan. The beaches are beautiful. I enjoyed birding at St Mark's NWR in Wakulla, nearby.

    Amanda2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot to relax, easy access to the beach and the state park and all the hiking was a short bike ride away. The home was cozy and the outdoor shower made it so easy to clean up after playing at the beach. Will definitely be back!

  • This is a quiet little oasis, just close enough to the beach. The space is comfy, allowing everyone to appreciate the outdoors and beauty. We loved our retreat from all the hustle and bustle, to this little quiet piece of paradise. We created memories that will last forever! Thanks for keeping this little classic Florida home running for everyone To enjoy!

  • Close Enough Cottage is a wonderful break from the hectic, super-touristy beaches we've been to in past summers. It was the perfect size for me and three teenagers - we had room to spread out if we needed to, and also perfect spaces for games of Uno and Jenga and just hanging out together as a family. This was our first Airbnb stay, but it won't be our last. The cottage is nestled in the woods one street back from the beach, so it felt like we were alone on Bald Point. Except for the doe who came to the yard each morning to dine on the foliage, that is. If you enjoy the quiet and beauty of sparsely populated beaches, you'll love staying here. You're far enough away from it all that there's no "popping down to the grocery store" from here, but we got used to that by Day 2, and used the cottage as home base for a different trip each day of the week. Don't miss Wakulla Springs State Park! Manatees, alligators, and more birds than I can name - that was our favorite day trip. Jennifer helped me get the lay of the land before we even arrived, and had the house beautifully set up for us. I was so glad to have a huge kitchen that was fully equipped for any meal I wanted to cook. We would definitely go back, and will recommend Close Enough Cottage to our friends and family looking for something different at the beach!

    Caroline2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's Bald Point cottage is such a special little place. My husband, two girls, two dogs, and I visited for 11 days. Her place is very clean and very nicely decorated. Once you enter, you immediately go to an idyllic space of mind--the sun room is filled with windows that overlook the backyard and the state park that adjoins the back of the property. Watching a summer storm from this room is so relaxing. The kitchen is the heart of this home, sweetly decorated, and filled with all you need to cook all your meals. The property is set up to help you fully enjoy the Bald Point area. We used the bikes Jennifer provides to explore the state park and discover new areas of the beach. The walk to the beach is an easy one, and the nighttime walking during low tide is beautiful, filled with natural wonders. The cottage was also a great landing space as we adventured around the area: George Griffin Pottery in Sopchoppy; Geiger Orchids in Wellborn, FL; kayaking the Wakulla River and watching the manatees feed at the Lower River Bridge next to TNT Hideaway (where we rented paddle boards); St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge and Lighthouse; Carabelle and Crawfordville for vintage shops and grocery stores; and Panacea for My Way Seafood (local fishmonger) as well as for the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab. The fishing was also good--we fished at the public boat ramp near the bridge and caught lady fish, trout, and red fish. And, if you're in need of any tire or car repair, Beachside Tire and Auto of Carabelle came directly to the property to fix a tire and a water hose. Our trip was lovely, and our two girls had a wonderful time as well, often going out for their own solo adventures on the bikes and to the ocean. It was all such a wonderful time, straight out of a movie. I didn't want to leave, and we hope to return. Thanks, Jennifer for such a great time. After 12+ years of visiting Alligator Point, I can say that your home has been a favorite.

  • My husband and I had a great time! We came down for a quick Valentines trip. We stayed two nights. The house was great- super cute and clean and literally a couple steps to the water. The couch wasn't very comfortable (only downside to the whole place) but the bed definitely was. Everything in the place was brand new (still had tags on). We will definitely coming back when the weather warms up! Evolve and Toni were both great and super quick with communications.

  • Patricia's place provided us a wonderful stay at a lovely and fully-equipped cottage near the awesome St. Mark's Wildlife Refuge. Patricia is a first-rate hostess! She demonstrated her care and attention with daily messages complete with tips and offers of any help we might need. I've stayed at dozens of Airbnbs over the years, and this one earns my most enthusiastic recommendation yet.

    Rob2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy simplicity, quiet and quaint surroundings this is the best place in Florida! Patricia put the "Super" in Super Host! We loved the charming little cottage, screen porch and little yard! Tastefully decorated and well stocked - everything you need and more!! Was one of the best vacations we've ever had!

    Linda2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place. If a cottage could hug you, this one would!! That's what it feels like every time I go there. Have been here many times before and will come as often as I can in the future. It is a fun, quirky, eclectic cottage by the bay!! It has a screened back porch and a fantastic back yard to watch raccoons and other small wildlife/birds. Everything you need to cooks meals is there (including quality spices and oils). Super clean with Mr Meyer's and Trader Joe cleaning products. Patricia is an extremely thoughtful hostess, has been doing airbnb for awhile and has pretty much thought of everything. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND - ENJOY

    Tami2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • 'For The Birds' is a special place, offering comfort, style, many special touches and access to recreation and restaurants and fresh sea food. Patricia made my feel right at home before I even arrived and all of my inquiries were quickly answered. The cottage is very clean, quiet, and offers all the amenities you will need for a relaxing getaway. This was my first airbnb experience and I don't think it can be topped!

    Janice2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully decorated little cottage with so many extra thoughtful amenities. Patricia was great to give us helpful hints about dining out and birding. She was the perfect hostess, and the quaint little cottage was perfect for us. We’ll be back!

    Harold2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I just love the place. Super clean and house has such great vibes!! Patricia is a great hostess. Very thoughtful. Thanks again for another great trip. See you next month!

    Tami2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia is a great host, she and her husband where present upon our arrival. They welcomed us with beautiful flowers and everything we needed for the next day breakfast (cinnamon bread, oatmeal, and good coffee). They explain to us all about the place and what to do in the area. We also appreciated all the thoughtful items around the place such as plenty of clothes hangers, lots of towels and blankets, as well as a very well-equipped kitchen and fully stocked with everything you need to cook. The internet is excellent. For the seafood lover in you, this town is great. Within 1 mile from the house you have 2 great seafood stores with smoke fish, catch of the day, crab, shrimps, etc. You have a Walmart and a Winn-Dixie within 30 minutes by car. If you like bio or organic products, you have a great store in Crawfordville. All in all my wife and I, really enjoyed our one-month stay at Patricia’s place.

  • This home is great. We had use of whole second floor as there was not another guest. Very cozy and well decorated. TV is only local channels but that was fine as we were out most of the day. Would return if ever in the area again.

  • Great place for everyone who wants to get away. Robert and Laura are fantastic knowledgeable hosts with very inviting house, where you can find everything necessary for comfy camping with kids. We went fishing and kayaking, made a big fire and roasted marshmallows. Highly recommended!

  • Had a wonderful stay at Robert and Laura’s Airbnb! Being right on the creek in a cute little house with everything you could need was perfect. Also, having access to kayaks was awesome!

    Haley2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t recommend it enough, we grilled and had dinner out on the dock and spent most of our time out on the water during the day. The house was sparkling clean and Robert and Laura are so laid back and friendly, it felt easy to be in shared public space because of them! Relaxing, quiet, and a rare gem to experience old Florida.

  • Unfortunately, this was a stop on a rushed road trip. Could have spent a week here. Great host in a fantastic location in the perfect Sopchoppy house. Thanks Robert for helping make our 12 hour stop special. (and thank you for the early morning kayaks. Incredible). Highly Recommended.

  • Very nice Airbnb on a nice lot and access to the inlet. The home was kept up and our space upstairs was comfortable. Nice sitting area with tv just for us. Very large bedroom. We had a nice time just enjoying the area around the house. Long trails very close. We enjoyed the time we spent talking with Robert and Laura.

    Pam2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Robert was very quick to respond and very hospitable. They have a very cute home and is perfect for a quiet get away.

    Heather2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Love the place, it's out of the way and out in nature. Beautiful area for fishing. Robert and Laura are gracious hosts, sharing their home and time with guests at their request, or privacy either way.

Let all your dreams come true! Welcome to our cottage with a beautiful view! This cozy, charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath is very spacious. Amazing front porch that opens up to a screened in porch that overlooks the forgotten coast. Sleeping porch and 2 outdoor showers with hot & cold water to wash away the sand. This amazing view will bring you to a new peaceful, happy place. The cottage is not pet friendly. Enjoy the spectacular sunset! Accommodates 6 people.
  • This is a very nice, old school beach home. Everything you need for a very relaxing vacation on a very nice beach. Comfortable screened in porch, with a swing large enough to sleep on, a enclosed sunroom and a outside deck, all overlooking the ocean. Perfect place if you have a dog that likes the freedom to run on the beach. Will definitely plan on a return visit.

    Dennis2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A dream close to the sea! A cozy home just a few steps from the water. There are so many comfortable seating areas, it is really hard to choose. Should one sit on the porch swing - better hurry, it is everyone's favorite! Or maybe take the chaise-long on the outside porch and watch dolphins swim by? Or one of the wooden comfortable chair on the screened porch with a view of the sunrise and sunset in winter? Maybe it is time to cook in the very well equipped kitchen with a direct view all the way down to the sea? A big dining table seats everyone comfortable - again with a great view of the empty beach from almost every chair. Plenty of pillows and blankets and comfortable beds with medium firm mattresses. Even dog beds are provided. Plan ahead and stop on the supermarket on the way to Alligator Point, as it is about 30 minutes away. And who wants to spend more time then absolutely necessary away from the sea. This is a lovingly decorated family home and communication with the owner was quick and easy.

    Karin2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic vacation experience, we will be coming back to this location. Beautiful right on the beach. I think my favorite thing was the porch swing in the screened in porch, I fell asleep for a couple hours out there just listening to the ocean. Communication was great with host. Very responsive. Thanks for a great time and lasting memories!

    Mary2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed several vacations along Alligator Point and this was the best because of the screened back porch with a bed swing. The railing was low so perfect view of the beach from the Adirondack chairs. Darlene decorated so cute. The refrigerator had ice and water in the door which was delightfully unexpected. Also there were both Keurig and drip coffee makers. The kitchen range was gas and in great shape. We love that the outdoor shower isn't covered so you can enjoy the sun or stars while you get clean. All in all a great stay!

    Lynne2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay in this beach house! The house was perfect for our family. The beach was quiet without crowds of people and you couldn’t beat the beach view from the screened in porch! Great place to stay!

    Cathy2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet and comfortable beach cottage! I loved being able to lie in bed and look at the stars at night and wake up to see the sun rising over the ocean in the morning! My son loved the porch swing and we all loved the fact that we were only steps to the beach! This is a place we all can't wait to visit again!

    Nancy2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Darlene's beach home is the most relaxing vacation I've had in years, very quiet and peaceful. A beautiful beach in your back yard that is uncrowded, basically yours! Fishing is excellent. I suggest Capt Dave if you hire a charter. There are great local restaurants close to the area. The home is older and well equipped. We are planning to make this our vacation again next year. Thx Darlene

Newly redecorated & beautifully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath, oceanfront beach home. Fully equipped kitchen & outdoor gas bbq. Bedrooms have huge flatscreen tv's with cable. The comfy sunporch has a daybed that opens into 2 twins. Outside the house has plenty of decks & seating areas. Upper deck features a firetable for those nightly stargazing, wine-sipping evenings. The lower deck has a dining table, sofa & chairs, outdoor shower & fish sink. Come stay at MoonShadow & rejuvenate your soul.
MoonShadow is located directly on the beach at Alligator Point. The beach is very private as there is no public access within a mile or two. Our outdoor space has everything you'll need to enjoy your stay including beach toys, towels, and a huge outdoor fish sink (or dog bath, whichever you prefer). The outdoor area also includes a 10 person table and gas grill, comfy sectional sofa, adirondack chairs, lounge chairs, beach chairs, and kids chairs so you can enjoy eating that fish you just caught or just lying down with a glass of wine and just listen to the ocean. You may also love the outdoor private shower, which is great right after a swim in the ocean. There is also a fenced in area so that you can let your pup run around without worrying! Along with the white fluffy towels for our guests, we also we provide beach towels, outdoor shower towels and doggie towels. We have plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas and also beach toys. We also have coolers for the beach. The upper deck has a cocktail table with umbrella so that you can enjoy the views and if your lucky, get to see the dolphins catching their dinner. There is also lounging chairs and a fire table for night time enjoyment and watching the stars.
Alligator Point is a beautiful area on Florida's Forgotten Coast. The beaches are uncrowded and pristine. You can watch the dolphins play in the ocean along with stingrays. There are so many beautiful birds to watch also. The Point is on a migratory route and if your lucky enough to be there, you will get to see many different species and plenty of bald eagles. The Point also hosts the great sea turtles who come back once every 25 years to lay their eggs in the exact same spot in which they were hatched. Once again, if your lucky, you'll get to see the hatchlings making their way to the ocean where they will live and grow and return in 25 years! And the Stars, did I mention the Stars...... At night you can see the Milky Way as clear as you can see Orion. Bring your binoculars or better yet, your telescope and your in for a real treat! No matter what you like, the peace, quiet and natural beauty of the Point will recharge your body and soul. Did I mention the fish?........
  • Perfect house, perfect location, perfect host, who thought of everything. We will definitely stay again. The outside living quarters/ shower was all of our favorite. We had our daughter and grandchildren with us, we loved the private beach. In the evenings at dusk, we would enjoy the fire table on the upper deck, kids enjoyed it also! Traveling from Wisconsin it was nice to know that we did not need to pack beach towels, toys, chairs. Jackie has it all! Just left this morning and can't wait to go back! Thank you again for your kindness and thoughtfulness as a host!

  • We spent a few days as a family here in December. It was quiet and lovely. The place was very clean and offered great views of the ocean and sunsets. It was private and peaceful. My family enjoyed the home, especially the spots for sitting and watching the waves. Highly recommend. Alligator Point is the kind of place where you just go to enjoy the ocean ... you don't need lots of fancy other distractions because the ocean is all you need.

    Kristen2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Moonshadow was terrific like always!

    Carrie2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location, fantastic home, and gracious host! Amenities, appliances, and furniture were all at or above quality in my own home. Generous touches such as welcome snacks and basic breakfast foods, COFFEE, well-stocked kitchen, Bluetooth speakers, excellent WiFi, toiletries, lots of extra towels and bedding, plus clean and welcoming furnishings made us feel like welcome and trusted guests staying with dear friends. THEN, the location is more than perfect. Secluded enough to enjoy the beach without feeling lonely, the home is just steps away from the water but also has several great viewing areas so you can choose to be in the sun, under umbrellas or in a covered deck. We saw lots of wildlife, including jumping fish, dolphins, and sharks! Perfect for for fishing, walking the beach, or just relaxing!

    Camille2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie was an amazing host! She thought of everything! She went out of her way to communicate with us before and after our stay to make sure everything was perfect! The house and location were perfection as well! We were surprised by the amount of wildlife we were able to see. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the amazing nature and beautifully quiet side of Florida! We cannot wait to stay here again!

  • Beyond all expectations! MoonShadow was bright, clean and welcoming. The view of the ocean is unobstructed and awe-inspiring. You will see dolphin pods swim by the house 4-5 times every day. There was a complementary bottle of red wine waiting for us on the kitchen counter. Jackie provides two binders full of house information, excursion suggestions, and her favorite menus. The bathrooms had complementary mini soaps and shampoos. Beds were plush and comfortable. The shed had every possible "beach" need you could think of. We would wake up early for the sunrise, drive to a local fresh seafood market for the catch of the day, come home to prepare a big meal and watch the sunset. The house even had dog bowls and a bed for our old pup. These memories will be cherished forever. Thank you so much Jackie and Karana!

    Alexandra2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is a fabulous host—thinks of everything. The cottage is even lovelier than advertised and spotlessly clean. There are too many positives to list—you just can’t go wrong with booking! Enjoy the solitude, the sound of the waves, the walks on the beach and return to a perfect cottage.

    Phil2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Moonshadow was fantastic. It is quiet and secluded. In late October we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves. Being able to get up every morning and walk out the door onto your private beach to watch the sunrise is the best! Jackie thought of everything, even having coffee and breakfast for our first morning! Every kitchen item was there. Every amenity was provided. The beds were nice and firm, there was plenty of comfortable seating and it's perfect for traveling with friends or multiple people. There are so many separate spaces, you don't feel crowded. We especially enjoyed sitting out by the firetable under the stars. We hope for many happy return trips!

  • Excellent space! Lots of room. There were 4 of us (2 adults/2 children) and we felt like we had plenty of space. All of the rooms are huge, but the master bath is exceptionally wonderful! There is a beautiful view of the golf course and pond/water hazard...complete with an alligator! Access to the pool is very close by and lighted, covered parking is also available. There is an elevator to assist with moving items as needed. Plenty of cooking utensils, coffee maker, can opener, toaster, and more were available. For having planned our visit 48 hours in advance, we were very pleased!

  • Outstanding accommodations on the Gulf.....right on the Gulf! Awesome sunrises from your bedroom window. Great sunsets from the pier. Dolphins swimming by. Birds from warblers to pelicans. Amazing place with phenomenal views. We were excited about this place from the pictures but truly blown away by the amazing experience of staying in thus first rate space during our vacation. It was simply over-the-top in all respects. Loved making meals in the kitchen. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. Kathleen and Jim communicated well and efficiently throughout our stay. They provided great ideas about how to make the most of our stay on the Forgotten Coast. They offered us a space and an experience that truly made us feel at home. Coolest place we have ever stayed. And great hosts to boot. They even comped us dinner for limited access to balconies under repair. Truly a class act! Loved your beautiful bungalow. Thanks for great creature comforts and a truly awesome experience!!!!! • We loved our long weekend getaway. The rental was just as it is the the pictures. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked. The master bedroom bed is SO comfortable! The view is amazing and the patio is very relaxing to sit out on. The elevator closest to the unit was out of order, so you had to walk a little further down to ride the elevator up to the 3rd floor. For those trying to get your steps in, there are plenty of steps to climb! We would definitely stay there again! Our host was very gracious and made our stay very personal.

Experience old Florida in this 1950's 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage located on a tropical spit along the Forgotten Coast. We provide playing cards, board games, a stereo and books. There is an added bunk room off the porch suitable for 2 children.
Nearby attractions include: -Alligator Point Marina with Tiki Bar one mile down the road -Fishing across the street in Alligator Bay or on the gulf -Bald Point State Park, Apalachicola National Park, St Marks National Wildlife Refuge -Angelo's Seafood, Tropical Traders, Posey's, Mad Anthony's restaurants, and Alligator Point's own Tiki Hut Bar and Grille at the marina. -Wakulla Springs, one of the largest freshwater springs in the world -Day trips to Apalachicola, the oyster capital of the US, and diners' and shoppers' paradise, as well as other quaint towns along the Forgotten Coast.
  • Absolutely great beach access. Beautiful sandy beach. Main house is spotless. No bugs. Backyard has gorgeous large pines that, with the beach in the background, make a great view from the back porch. We visited in early March and their were very few people about.

  • We spent a really delightful weekend in this cute cottage, with plenty of space for four adults (two of whom decided to use the bunks instead of the sofa and they seemed happy enough with them). Even on a chilly Jan./Feb. weekend, the central heat coupled with a few space heaters (provided) kept everyone perfectly toasty! It is a great location either for a walk down the beach to the end of Alligator Point (heading west) or for a bike ride to the tip of Bald Point State Park (heading east). The cottage was well-stocked and had plenty of puzzles, books, and toys to keep fams interested, especially if staying for a whole week and needing things to do on rainy days. The charcoal grill (with charcoal) was a nice addition, plus there are some camp chairs/outdoor chairs to enjoy the sunset from the backyard. The view of the beach from the covered porch makes a nice place to sit/read. There was plenty of space to spread out (with both the living room and the covered porch giving options if people wanted a little alone space), but, as an older house, do be prepared to hear everyone's conversations (there is a window between the bedroom and the bunk room, so it was especially easy to hear one another). There are multiple generations of houses on Alligator Point (these cinder block homes, those raised on wood, and the newest on concrete pillars), but these first-wave cottages especially evoke the Forgotten Coast for me. It's a simple space that allows one to revel in simplicity. Would definitely like to come back sometime!

  • Great house in a great location. The house was very well stocked and had everything that we needed. If you like to fish, there are numerous free ramps in the area and great fishing. We will definitely be coming back

  • Unplugged lived up to its name... it provided a perfect getaway from everything! The beach was beautiful and allowed us to watch the sunrise and sunset over the ocean. Alligator Point has a simple, quiet, unpretentious feel. The house had everything we needed and Genevieve was very accessible and helpful

  • Genny's description of her place on the beach is spot on. _Everything_ was perfect for a couple quiet days at the beach for my wife and me. Cell phone service worked fine so we could keep in touch with folks back home. Old school stereo is a nice touch for listening to FM while we ate or relaxed inside.

We also have a nice sized propane BBQ grill. We either bring fish straight from our fishing excursions or from our favorite fresh fish store “My Way” in Panacea to grill and eat either outside or in! Both upstairs or down has flat screen TVs with cable, in case you can’t miss a game. And the house is equipped with WiFi. If you have ANY questions about the house before or during your stay please don’t hesitate to reach out! We welcome your visit to our Fun Beach House. Come and enjoy anytime!
Alligator Point is a peaceful and secluded beach community with beautiful sunsets and star-filled night skies.
  • Peaceful retreat with a pool!

Our rustic River Cabin is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a little peace and quiet. Located just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Ochlockonee river, this spacious cabin has everything you need to enjoy time away with friends and family. Bring your own boat and take advantage of the boat launch just a few feet away from the cabin. Get up early and enjoy a cup of coffee on the large screened porch where you can watch the rare white squirrels play in abundance in the front yard.
Sopchoppy is a quaint little town that will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped back in time...back to a more simple, quiet time. A short drive in either direction can get you to either a beautiful beach or to Tallahassee, home of the Florida State Seminoles. It’s the perfect place to stay on a game weekend or if you want to take in the beach but don’t want to spend a fortune on a beach rental.
This home is located in beautiful Sopchoppy. You’ll want to take a little time to stroll downtown and visit some of the old shops. Also, our property is home to lots of rare white squirrels. They love to play in the beautiful oaks in our yard.
  • We had a fabulous time at Linger a Little Longer cabin! Everything was clean and ordely. The beds were so comfortable and we loved the mints! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all weekend. Or families just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful front porch. Thank you!

  • This was a very cozy and comfortable cabin with very welcoming hosts. Strong wifi, hot water, air conditioning and comfortable bedrooms. Our family of 6 really enjoyed the quietness and comfort of the cabin. The hosts were very quick in communications. Easy access to Alligator Point and Bald Point State Park (about 30 mins) and to Carrabelle, Apalachicola, and St George area (about 1 hour). Overall, a wonderful experience we recommend to others visiting the "Forgotten Coast" of Florida. Will be back again in the future!

  • Had a peaceful pleasant stay here! Don’t think twice if your mission is to get away from city and relax. They have a nice spring nearby we visited and my dad got to 🎣 to his hearts content! Our mission was accomplished in our quick pick vacation to run from Hurricane Dorian! Thank you Libby!

"Old Salt" : a unique BEACH and Harbor front coastal retreat on 1.3 acres on Alligator Point in Panacea FL. large private beach area. There is a swimming pool, inclosed outdoor shower, tennis court, gazebo with lounge chairs and grilling area with picnic table. Boat launch is in walking distance. The dock has a covered upper deck perfect for viewing sunsets or dolphin watching. Perfect place for a family gathering, corporate retreat, beach wedding, rehearsal dinner or fishing
The house is on the beach and views of the harbor, tennis court and pool from back of house
  • “Old Salt” has a cozy, almost cabin feel. The open floor plan, large kitchen, and fully surrounding deck made me feel like we had plenty of space—even though we had three families with kids! The sand on the beach is white and gorgeous, and I loved being able to park my boat on the bay. Over-all a great vacation!

  • This place was clean, beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is big and has lots of great appliances, like two stoves, a Keurig and more. Our kids had fun with lots to do and Wifi. Our dogs love the beach. The views are beautiful and the sunsets were amazing!

2 bedroom, 1.5 bath on a private beach. Just a quick drive to Tallahassee, St George Island, St. Marks lighthouse and Apalachicola. Washer/dryer with supplies and dishwasher. Beach chairs and toys provided. Perfect family vacation home.
Comfortable 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath home right on the water. We're in a bay area so there are no big waves making it perfect for small children. We have Wifi and Dish network in both bedrooms and living room also has blu-ray player.
Most homes on this stretch of beach are generation homes. There are many "neighborhood dogs" wandering around but they're all very friendly. The cottage is in a very remote area but local restaurants, convenience store and liquor store are about 10 minutes away. Closest grocery store is 20-30 minutes away.
  • So private & beautiful! Extremely quiet & comfy. Loved dining on the enclosed porch with option of being able to open the windows when warm enough. The kitchen is wide enough for multiple people to work at once. Very well stocked. Both beds where super comfy! Recliners in the living room was a plus. We had the beach to ourselves.

  • Highly recommend. The house is a little dated but that actually made me more comfortable. The sand is so soft and white. The views of sunset and sunrise were amazing. The locals were all super polite and very informative. There arent a lot of shells on this beach but just 10 minutes away is alligator point which has a public access beach with a few parking spots. We were the only ones there and so many shells. All the places to eat were amazing. There is not a lot of shopping. The beds were comfy. Everything was clean. There's only a small shower so my 3 year old had to adjust to showers which I think he likes more. The fridge is huge with an ice maker and filtered water. Plenty of beach towels and toys. Feels like home.

  • This was the most amazing weekend I have had in a very long time. Every minute we spent there was so relaxing and peaceful from the time you walk in the door. We fished out on the pier. We caught flounder, rock bass, Spanish mackerel, and more, while we fished there were many pods of dolphins playing close enough for us to enjoy watching them. Our girls had a blast finding sea sponges, coral, and shells that had washed ashore. At night we had a bonfire on the beach which was absolutely the coolest thing I have ever experienced. Cheri’s cottage is a gem that is perfect in so many ways. I will definitely be booking another stay in the future.

  • Under short notice, I was able to get my first choice of accommodations in Panacea area; we were very happy with the cottage on the bay; it was great- quiet, private, comfortable and easy to work with Cheri.

    Jeffrey2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place and owner are amazing! This is an older Florida cinder block home. It is very well maintained and clean. They have everything there that you could want from floats to sunscreen to water proof protectors for your phone!!! They even let us use their beach chairs and pavilion! It was so quiet. We probably saw 10 people the entire time we were there. No loud music/noises/etc.. pier was great for fishing as was the beach. We also recommend fishing on the st George island pier (the island side). We caught so many fish and I caught my first shark!! Also the state park at the end of st George island is beautiful but the beach right out your back door is amazing and the water is calmer if you have littles. We recommend the red pirate in Eastpoint or tropical shrimp in panacea. Both places have good seafood (shorts welcome!!). It was an amazing getaway for my husband and myself but I would not hesitate to bring our kids next time. We never even turned on the TV!

  • If you want a beautiful location, top-notch responses and just the greatest host, book now. Cheri is a one of a kind host. Her home is so sweet and filled with love. Steps away from the beach and a short drive to dine out if you choose. The home has everything you could need during your stay and this location again is a true gem of a find. Can't wait to visit again

    Jamie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Just as others have said, I almost hate to leave a good review because I don’t want people to know about this secluded spot. We arrived at checkin time and used the keypad on the door to let ourselves in. As soon as we walked in through the front door we immediately looked through the back windows and could see the ocean. The view was unbelievable. We spent every day we were there on the beach. We only left the cottage once to check out one of the local recommended restaurants (Tropical Trader Shrimp). The food and service were excellent! Other than that we cooked all of our meals at the cottage. It was so easy to go out to the beach in the morning and come in to eat for lunch and dinner and go right back out. We only get to come to the beach once every year or two so we didn’t want to miss a minute of beach time. This location is not like Panama City Beach, Destin, or any of the beaches in that area. This area is a bay type area and much more raw and untouched. So if you are looking for a Destin experience this place is not for you. If you want a beach where you can walk out your back door any time of day and not have to fight for a spot on the beach with a thousand other people than this is your place. We were so sad to leave Cheri’s place after our 5 wonderful days at her cottage. We are already planning our next beach vacation.

    Rachel2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful spot for a vacation! The beach is beautiful, quiet and just at the end of the backyard! We enjoyed the deck and screened back porch as well. The house is comfortable and inviting. Hope to come back soon!
