Eliza's home is set back on a quiet street, with a lovely little patio (which we didn't use because the mosquitos and black flies were getting us!). But the home was bug-free, clean and comfortable, and very nicely decorated and stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies. It is an older home, so there are creaky doors and slow drains, but we found it very comfortable for our big group (me, my husband, our two small kids, and my in-laws!). All in all a great find!

Finding Evita's place was a challenge: see the fence in the picture and know that the house is hiding behind. Once found, provided one can manipulate steep stairs, one is for a "cozy" and comfy farm house stay indeed. There's plenty to like in this house and it has an incredibly comfortable and sleepable floor mattress. Oxford is a small, secluded town so you might want to stock up on what you think you'll need before starting down the highway to get there. My wife and I have just returned from two weeks traveling across the maritime provinces from one airbnb to another and Evita's was one of the best values of our trip: it invites one to stay much longer.

Wonderful location! Close to beach. Great host!

This was an amazing place to stay with my two young boys. The cottage is very cozy and has everything you need (stove, microwave, BBQ). The boys loved the bunk beds. The outhouse was really clean and we all enjoyed the outdoor shower looking out at the water. The view is absolutely amazing, whether you're sitting on the porch having fresh lobster or having breakfast at the picnic table right at the water! Truly spectacular! The climb down the cliff was do-able with a 6 and an 8 year old, but I would recommend using the stairs about 4 cottages down further. The public beach is only a short walk away and the red sand is amazing! I would totally love to go back to Heather Beach someday!

The listing was very accurate and Andrew was gracious enough to accept our last minute reservation. The neighbors are great, the view is to die for but you should be advised regarding the flying bug life as they can be really pesty and get in your way, so just bring some spray or citronella oil. We were very pleased how everything felt and we would definitely return (probably without all the pots and pans we chugged along).

We were really looking forward to staying here, however we were very disappointed. We ended up leaving earlier than anticipated. When we arrived the kitchen smelled foul and there was seafood discarded in the backyard. For a pretty expensive cleaning fee, we expected it to be cleaner than what we arrived to. For us, the bugs were a problem. My daughter and I left covered in bites, despite being inside most of the time and constantly covered in bug spray, with what appeared to be either sand flea or bed bug bites. It got pretty cold inside, especially at night. We would have started a fire but there was trash in the fireplace. The pictures misled us to believe there was easy beach access from the cottage but when we arrived we learned the drop is pretty steep and rocky, very unsafe for our little daughter to even run around outside. We also thought it would be more private and quiet but the neighbors are 3 feet away on both sides. Though they were nice, one had house work going on early morning-afternoon. In my own opinion, it seemed a bit over priced for the amenities, or rather lack of. The view may be worth it, if only you could withstand the mosquitos at night from the open back porch.

Andrew was a wonderful host and provided detailed information that made our arrival easy -- (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps took us right to the house. The location is as impressive as the photos suggest; an amazing panoramic view of the ocean, with swimming an easy walk away. (And yes, the water is amazingly warm.) The view from the porch is unimpeded by any screens (which is good), and as long as we finished up before sunset, we weren't bothered by bugs. The kitchen is nicely set up, and we didn't lack for any implements. The rooms are cozy and wood-paneled -- a bit more like a good-sized boat than the Plaza Suite. All-in-all, a wonderful stay in a charming cottage.

We had a great stay. Loved the sun room and the beautiful sunsets. The TV was a bit of a challenge. No cable. It's an Android box and it's not old people friendly. Everything else was great. We bbqed two nights and had a lobster boil as well. Best place for lobster is Aguashell in Wallace but it's a cash only spot. Favorite time.....either morning in the sun room or sunset in the sun room

This is a very well kept and comfortable cottage with amazing views of the Northumberland Strait, and the beach access was easy to get to. My kids and I had an amazing time staying here, the beds were comfortable and the cottage itself was very cozy and has everything you need. The communication with the hosts was super easy and we got very quick responses. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, it is close to shopping and local restaurants but still far enough away to enjoy the serenity of the beach! The owner has been great with communication and quick response which I really appreciate! The beach is great for swimming or beach combing and watching playful Seals at low tide (super Fun to watch). Lovely sunsets as well!

Sandi's place is centrally located in Pugwash, across the street from a small park that has a sea wall on the other side. It is a beautiful location in a beautiful town right on the salt water of the Northumberland Strait (which divides PEI from the mainland and which is the warmest salt water in Canada). Sandi went out of her way to make us feel at home. We put all 4 beds, the futon and 4 baths to good use! As advertised, this is an old house so don't be surprised by the slope of the floors. The low doorways are only an issue if you're over 6'2" (which some of us are!) We felt this house was a good value for our family vacation! Thanks Sandi!

We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by Sandi - she walked us through everything we needed to know to make our stay easier and gave us so many great suggestions for taking full advantage of the area. We are a large, blended family and this large historical home offered lots of room for the kids to get away from each other, but the large open living room and dining table was perfect for eating together and hanging out together in the evenings. Sandi was always readily available if we had any questions or concerns, and at every stage of the process, her genuine kindness and warm nature made us feel right at home in idyllic, seaside Pugwash.

Inn the Elms was an excellent experience from start to finish. The large house was cozily decorated with handmade quilts and other crafts. Breakfasts were delicious with large portions. The location was ideal, right near a bakery/cafe and the town's grocery store. Best of all the, service we received from the owners was very warm and made us feel like we were staying with old friends. We would definitely plan to go back.

We enjoyed our stay in Richard's place in pugwash very much. It is just a few minutes to walk to downtown. This place would work well for families but it was also perfect my girlfriend and I. The colourful apartment is upstairs above a studio where art classes sometimes happen but it is completely detached with a separate entrance and we never heard any noise from the people downstairs. Richard was a great host who replied quickly to our messages when we needed anything. We were mostly looking to relax and enjoy time to ourselves and Richard gave us the space and privacy to do that.

Clean and comfortable apartment in a charming village by the sea. We highly recommend taking an art class offered in the downstairs apartment!

Nice old house for four people, fifth one is sleeping on a floor! No wi-fi in the house, you need to walk 5 minutes to get it. Very quiet and well located for day trips around!

Richard's place was wonderful. Very laid back and comfortable. Decorated in an eclectic manner, with very comfortable beds. There are 2 small beaches within walking distance, but we preferred the gulf shore beach and heather beach, both of which are about 10min away from pugwash.

The place was a great value and had a very unique charm. The apartment was quiet, the hosts left some snacks and coffee and the kitchen had all the essentials. The apartment is older with a very funky cottage type feel to it. Lots of good books and board games. The host Richard was helpful and I would stay there again. Air conditioning and Wi Fi are not set up but I honestly didn't miss it.

Carol's charming Blue house was exactly what we needed to feel at home on our visit our east. We arrived quite late past dark so we were expecting to drive up to a darkened farmhouse... This was not the case. Carol's lovely parents made sure the home was well lit and a welcome note was left to greet us when we did arrive with instructions to how to reach them for an orientation. There were more than enough beds and bedrooms for us and they were dressed with pretty country linens. A welcome sight for us after a long drive. The next day we had a complete orientation to the property and surrounding area, beaches and amenities near by. Immediate needs, gas and groceries were found in town about 5mins up the road. For our stay we did many day trips PEI, Peggy's Cove and Halifax NS and the Hopewell rocks and Cape Enrage in NB. All were within 2.5 hours of this delightful farmhouse! When we did stay in we had gorgeous views from every window. From the front porch and back upper deck were sweeping views of the Northhumberland Strait. A couple nights we took sleeping bags out to the backyard and just lay there stargazing. We don't get that view of the milky way where we are from. Beautiful, clean, charming in a fantastic locations for everything we wanted. A huge thank you Carol for opening this home away from home to us and to Gareth and Dorothy for being such pleasant host while we stayed!

An absolutely delightful place to stay with two of the kindest, friendly, welcoming, and generous hosts we have ever met! Terry and Jocelyn were there to greet us on arrival and had even prepared dinner for us - mackerel caught that very day by Terry himself. The house and guest room were very clean and comfortable. We chose the location for its convenience to Joggins Cliffs Fossil Center (about 40 mins away), but also found a gorgeous and very underutilized provincial park / public beach within a mile of the house. The rural, coastal scenery in the immediate area was a pleasant bonus as well. Despite our early morning departure, Terry insisted on rising even earlier himself and cooking us a full breakfast. To say that we were treated like family would be an understatement. Thank you Terry and Jocelyn for such a great stay!

On arrival, Catherine was extremely welcoming. She gave us an in walk through of the property and let us know everything we would need to know. The home was stunningly beautiful (the photos don't do it justice, it is even better in person) and was taken care of extremely well. Catherine was available for questions at anytime, even though there was nothing else we could have possibly needed. She allowed us our privacy throughout the visit with no check ins. I will 100% be returning to this property in the future, it is the perfect getaway that isn't too far away from home. Perfect property, perfect host.

Well equipped kitchen

Spent a summer weekend at this cozy little cabin and loved it. The kitchen is well equipped with pretty much everything you could need to cook your meals. There's a dart board and lots of board games to keep you occupied in the evenings, and plenty to do nearby during the day. Melanie was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed and provided plenty of suggestions of things to do during our visit. FYI there is little to no cell phone reception in the cabin! It's a nice break from the modern world, but good to be prepared for this before you go. Highly recommend this spot and would love to come back! I can see that this place would also be lovely in the winter.

We spent 3 nights and didn't want to leave . The location is everything is appears to be . It was a pleasure dealing with the owners . The cottage in itself while "cozy" is very spacious . It was extremely well kept , along with all amenities needed for a relaxing weekend . Highly recommended making this a cottage you visit, we look forward to staying again some day .

It was very quiet except for the train, which we loved! We hoped for nice hikes straight from the cabin but had to drive to trails. I recommend doing research online in advance to know more about the area. Overall we were satisfied, but still looking for that perfect getaway cabin.... PS: Close to The best NS ski hill. Would be perfect in the winter. PSS: No WiFi or cell service. Could be a plus or a minus, but you should know this.

The location is tucked away in a beautiful part of Nova Scotia, a quick drive up from Halifax. We loved the campfire and fully stocked kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable and the place was super clean and tidy. It's the perfect getaway from the city. Our dogs had a ton of fun playing in the large lot. 10/10, would stay in again! Just got back from our girls getaway at this cottage and we absolutely LOVED it! It had all the necessities (and more), with fun board games and comfy beds. The layout is perfect for small or bigger groups and there were more than enough beds for our group of 6. Melanie was amazing to communicate with and was very helpful with suggestions etc. You could feel the tender loving care that the owners have put into making it a special getaway. We are already planning to return next year as we just couldn't get enough of this place!

What an absolutely superb get away, exactly what we were looking for! Finding a quiet place is like the holy grail for us and for the first time ever we actually found a quiet, really quiet place! A few trains a day and a few passing cars and literally that was it. If you want quiet this is it! Wonderful place, comfortably furnished, perfectly equipped with anything you need, clean and cozy. Excellent communication with our host. We've stayed in many many places over the years, and this is literally the only place I would consider returning to. Highly recommended!

Gary greeted us himself and answered our questions.He was very helpful and nice. His accommodation is more beautiful than it is on the photos. It is clear, bright, spacious and comfortable. There are a lot of windows with a view of Nature. A good place , very quiet and serene.

This was my first time using airbnb but we went with it as there seemed to be more choices and the site was more informative than others. We did not want to use motels for our week of touring as getting the right ones lined up is a hassle and they work out to be more expensive. Gary's cottage is every bit as nice as the pictures portray and Gary was welcoming and made sure everything was fully explained before leaving. Wentworth is a rural area but close to main highways and has its own Ski resort. Highly recommend this listing.

Great stay! House is bright, airy, clean, simple and cozy. Quiet and rural. Little diner right down highway good for breakfast with our three little kids. Small picnic area in Wentworth on the river, beautiful swimming and some fishing. Visited beaches and great low tides as well as Parrsboro. Gary left a great list of recommendations on where to visit, swim and eat. Television with Netflix made for a nice rainy afternoon.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the cottage and cleanliness. It is simply beautiful and charming. This could fit a large family easily. It had all of the amenities we required and the full kitchen was perfect for cooking our own meals. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of linens and any other supplies that we needed. Gary was great to deal with, he kept the lines of communication open and offered suggestions to local restaurants and sight seeing. This cabin is surprisingly close to Malagash and Wallace so it was easy to take a trip to the beach every day. I would definately recommend this to a friend and I'm sure we will be back again.

Great experience! I stayed here for three nights with my wife and 3 teenage kids. We all loved the chalet. It's quite lovely, with lots of character from the wood (there's even a pleasant wood smell inside). Most of the windows open, so we got a nice fresh air breeze during our summer stay. Fantastic kitchen with lots of amenities for cooking; no need to bring anything of your own. Tons of fun playing ping-pong in the basement. We found the location convenient for exploring both the Minas Basin (east end of the Bay of Fundy) and the Northumberland Strait. We didn't meet Marcelo, but he was very helpful and responsive, providing clear instructions for arrival and departure.

I had a long review written how this was home base for a Nova Scotia motorcycle base cam for trips the area and somehow it was deleted or lost ...the chalet was awesome ...4 adults found this perfect...warm,cozy, hot water, clean bathrooms, sheets, great lil diner litterally 2 minutes from front door home made everything and DE-lish ... ski mountain a few more minutes down the road maybe 5 or 6 tops... hit the road to the Cabot Trail from here and the sense of accomplishment was worth it ... we will do it again ... totally recommend ..

This is a really nice chalet, with convenient access to Ski Wentworth. Ideal for a 4-5 person family, maybe with a few extra bodies if you don't mind being cosy. We four (2+2) stayed here 3 nights in March 2016 and found it very comfortable and well equipped - fun times playing foosball and table tennis in the basement! Two things to be aware of, first is bugs. Even in winter, we were greeted by a fair number of ladybugs and flies buzzing around. We swatted and vacuumed them into submission. Second is that sound travels, and there isn't any sound insulation between the kids bedroom downstairs and the master upstairs. Also there are no curtains in the master bedroom, which faces the woods (a nice view to wake up to).

Only 6 minutes from Ski Hill, groceries and liquor store nearby, great location, would recommend.

Marcelo's chalet is wonderful! It was exactly as described and we had everything we needed. We highly recommend it!

The chalet provides a lovely and quiet retreat surrounded by woods (and bunnies). Perfect for hiking and ski trips with the family and friends. Secluded but only a short drive to Tatamagouche if you feel like venturing out. But if you feel like staying in, try the Foosball and ping pong tables and bring your guitars - this house was made for music.
