  • Great getaway for a weekend with friends. Loved the outdoor space and proximity to the river: truly unbeatable views. Only thing to note is that there aren’t any doors on the bedrooms.

  • Our stay at Ashley’s cabin was a lovely experience for me, my husband and dog! The secluded and serene location was perfect for a nice relaxing getaway. The river fulfilled all my husbands fishing goals for our trip. The one and only thing I would change about the cabin is the view from the deck of the river is a little obstructed with shrubbery. It would really open up the view if it was cleared out a bit. Ashley was accommodating and checked in to make sure our trip was going well, she even checked to make sure we were ok after a big storm! I would love to stay here again in the future!

  • A cute cabin next to the Kennebec River. If you are looking for a place to disconnect from electronics yet be close to sites and restaurants, this is the place to be. The view of the river in the morning on the deck or in the evening by the fire pit are picturesque!!

    Gina2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A magical spot! The location is beautiful, and the cabin is cozy. We did have problems with heat & hot water (due to electric utility work--not under the control of our hosts), but our hosts responded very quickly. If you can tolerate a few quirks with the building and are not afraid of lighting an old gas range, it's a lovely place to spend some quiet days, watching the geese, marvelling at the leaves turning almost before your eyes, taking advantage of the cozy but well-equipped kitchen, and perusing the amply-stocked bookshelves.

    Denise2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley’s cabin was THE picturesque Maine experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience all Maine has to offer in the coziest setting!

    Amber2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Well worth the $ and would likely return. No frills and no TV or wifi etc. Just a wonderful place to escape the world and get back to nature. Total seclusion and wonderful place if traveling with a pet. My dog loved the river and huge property to run and play. Would definately recommend this cabin and Ashley was a great host.

    Karen2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Sacred River Cabin was excellent. It’s a huge amount of incredibly private space - excellent for relaxation and fun on the water. Can’t say enough good things about this place, our dogs wish they could stay forever.

    Tom2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb, quiet and secluded along a river. The cabin is rustic and comfortable with a great grill and deck, the bed on the closed in porch is lovely. We had a great time visiting with our dog. Ashley was easy to communicate with, we’d definitely go again.

  • Wonderful place

    Caine2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I’m not sure words do justice to how nice this location is. I selected it due to its perfect location (the perfect spot for the night before Acadia), and its amazing price. When arriving, I was relieved at the ease of check in and condition of the house, absolutely immaculate. The room had every single thing we needed and more, including bathrobes! The bed was comfortable and the view from the porch was incredible. We are already planning our way back north again, however plan on staying in Hallowell for the entire stay for we never even got to try out kayaking and bike riding in the area, or to explore all of the small shops that it has to offer! Thank you so much for everything, we will be back soon!

    Kevin2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Secure, cozy room in a tidy old house in a town I’ve never heard of. Sounded great and it was indeed great. Try it out

  • The room had anything you might imagine needing. Andrea was quick to respond to questions as well!

    Michael2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place is lovely! I stayed there as a quick layover on a trip en route to Canada, and it was just what I needed. I'd love to return in the future for a longer stay. Andrea's kindness and hospitality are noteworthy!

    Kerry2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • My bed was so comfortable! I arrived late and left early, so I didn’t actually get to meet Andrea. But I felt so welcomed by the extra touches that went above and beyond what I expected...the water filter, coffee, chocolate and so much more! Thanks again Andrea!

    Mary2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time, the accommodations were excellently maintained and made our trip perfect.

    Alexander2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s place is TOP NOTCH!! Beautiful home, great location, amazing amenities. Cleanliness is a big deal for me so I was a little worried but from the moment I walked through the door I had to take off my shoes (just like home!) my room was spotless and Andrea was cleaning the common areas ALL the time. She was super friendly, full of recommendations but also was very respectful of personal space and my need for alone time. I could write an entire page of how lovely this home and Andrea were, I definitely will be returning!!

Camp site only. Families welcome! Convenient to Augusta. Camp near tranquil water in a pine grove. Enjoy a campfire in the evening. Go for a canoe ride, a swim, or sit on the dock. Peaceful, quiet, and no light pollution. Rustic bathroom at cottage (hot shower, toilet, sink). One acre lot. It's the ultimate backyard camping experience! Ideal location for a stop going to Acadia National Park or the Common Ground Fair.
Bring your own tent and bed set-up. Pitch your tent anywhere you like. The Airbnb site does not have an option for "no bed," but there is no bed. It is BYOB (Bring You Own Bed), tent, and camping mattress. Self check-in is perfect for social distancing. The waterfront is Worromontogus Lake, known locally as Togus Pond. A bathroom is available at the house with hot shower, soap, shampoo, and of course toilet paper. Bring your own towels. The lot is an acre, so you will be in fairly close proximity to the house (and thus the bathroom). Not really intended as a vacation destination, but a great place to pitch a tent for the night, get a hot shower, enjoy a campfire, and perhaps go out in the canoe. Your experience is best described by Katy, our 2016 caretaker: Nestled down a trail of soft pine needles and surrounded by evergreen trees, lies a place in the minds of many passer byers. Most have spent one night here, sometimes two. It has been a certain reprieve for all who enter. Each life greeted with warm hospitality and offered a sit on the deck overlooking the last rays of the sun hitting the pond below. A welcomed sit it is for folks, as they have tired from their travels. Many have seen some spectacular sights along their journeys here, yet this quiet little abode with the swinging pendulum of hemlock limbs, lulls them to a peaceful state away from the noises of the world. Gazing at the waters, tensions lift and faces soften. Contemplation of this place and perhaps even their lives lay in the silence. There are many different types of people that come here. Couples looking to get away from city life. Friends on excursions. Folks heading to the local fairs. Even the occasional business man needing a place to lay his head. Peoples from all over the world—Germany, France, Australia, China. Almost all have been or are going to incredible Acadia National Park. All these diverse people however, come together over the breakfast table. Differences that normally bring separation, are actually what draws the lives together! These people are most generally well-traveled folks and love to share their stories and to learn about the lives of the locals. Upon initial greeting, people perhaps immediately pick out the differences in each other, as is human tendency in a new setting. But by the end of breakfast, the similarities are what is remembered and has created a unique bond between these people who live all over the world. You see, we all enjoy a nice meal. We all like to break out into smiles. We all enjoy the feeling of safety and peace. We are all delighted when we find those common threads that exist in all of humanity, crossing the barriers of ocean waters, city lights, to skies of only star lights, we have more in commonality than not.
Nice and quiet unpaved road with a speed limit of 15 mph which must be obeyed. Property is set back from road, right on the water. Curved driveway means you cannot see the road. Woodsy and secluded, yet convenient to Augusta. All other homes on the road are year-round residences. Any camp site will be in fairly close proximity to the house.
  • Some come for a night and head on up to Common Ground Fair 30 minutes away, but if you love nature and can stay for a couple days or more, do! I took my kayak out on the still water and saw a blue heron, a nesting loon, a bald eagle and a beaver dam on a small island. Went swimming and lay on the dock and read in the sun. Heard owls and coyotes at night. Karen was very accommodating and friendly. All in all, a wonderful experience!

    Gail2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little camping spot in a nice, central location. Wonderful to have access to a hot shower and toilet! Sitting around the fire pit at night was perfect and we really enjoyed it.

  • Quiet little place on the lake, accessible fireplace and bathroom inside the cottage

    Sarah2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to set up a tent for the night. It had access to an outdoor shower and indoor bathroom. The lake is beautiful, but bring plenty of heavy duty bug spray for the mosquitoes.

  • We loved our stay, everything was perfect! The view was amazing and the campground so beautiful ! Karen was so sweet, kind, funny and helpful, she really made sure that everything was perfect for us. We would definitely recommand this place to all happy campers!

Our home is a few minutes' drive from downtown Hallowell, which offers many restaurants and a bustling nightlife. We are also located near a rail trail entrance, which is a charming way to walk, run, or pedal your way downtown. In the warmer months, cool off in our large in-ground swimming pool. We welcome travelers of all kinds, but our cat prefers the bipedal variety (no dogs).
Our home is large and full of character. Built around 1900, it is a unique and beautiful space which we are happy to share with guests. This is a home, not a hotel. We do not provide meals, but you may use our kitchen to cook or our refrigerator to store food. Please be aware that the main bathroom is shared, as are all spaces except the bedrooms. We encourage open communication to facilitate understanding between hosts and guests, especially for longer-term stays. It never bothers us, but traffic noise from the nearby road has occasionally been noted as bothersome to certain guests.
Hallowell is a beautiful, friendly city with a robust nightlife. Live music, antique shops, and lovely architecture are some of the things you might notice about the Granite City. There are also many restaurants to choose from. Be aware that during the week, most kitchens close around 9pm. On the weekends, kitchens may be open as late as 10pm. It may help you to research different options before you arrive!
  • A nice room in a beautiful family home. We were in and out for one night but our host were very nice. Thanks!

  • This is one of my favorite Air Bnb’s!!! I stay here any time I’m in Augusta and always look forward to it. It’s in a quiet neighborhood but a quick walk into Hallowell center and some awesome bars if that’s your kind of thing. The owners are very friendly though so usually join them for a beer and a game of pool on their table.

    Erica2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Erik and Rebecca were awesome hosts, they made us feel very welcome! The room was clean and pleasant, the pool and hot tub were a very nice bonus, I only wish we hadn't been so busy during our stay to enjoy their company more. Walking distance from downtown Hallowell, I recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet room within reach of the coolest little town in the area!

  • If you’re searching for a clean, cozy cottage with an extraordinary view, search no more... just book this property! Comfy furniture too! This cottage doesn’t feel like you’re in a rental property. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more! I highly recommend this property! The Host is also easy to reach and responds quickly.

  • Cute little place. Great for a weekend getaway. The view of the water in the morning is just beautiful. We went in November so the water was too cold to enjoy but the firepit and night was fun. Great place to stay with a couple people.

    Shayla2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's cozy little cottage, is wonderfully located just far enough away from in town Gardiner. It got interstate access within 5 mins of the location, and it has a interstate service stop for all your impromptu needs! It's quaint, and quiet and the scenery is as true to Maine as can be! We did experience some weather during our stay, and it caused power outages, which last overnight. Bring some candles and flashlights, as this is expected right on the water in Maine. Stephen was amazing checking in with us, and keeping in touch, to make our stay as comfy as possible.

    Jennifer2019-11-02T00:00:00Z

    Matthew2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. We enjoyed canoeing around the pond with the lovely autumn colors, watching the birds and sitting on the porch just relaxing. Just wonderful.

  • Stephen's Camp is a great small and private feeling retreat on a nice section of the pond. Simple to find with easy access to various sites and amenities. It is perfect for a couple. We got the last of summer warmth and the beginning of fall colors in just one week. Would recommend over and over.

Camper for rent. Can be towed by any vehicle that can haul up to 4,900 pounds and has a 7-pin trailer connector plug. I wil provide a wireless brake controller that can be controlled with a phone app if you don't have a brake controller. This is about 18' inside and 21' 2" for the total outside length from bumper to hitch. This takes 2 5/16 ball hitch, but I can provide one to slide into your 2' receiver on your truck or SUV. There is a queen bed and the couch folds flat for sleeping.
Pickup is 1063 River Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. You can take it wherever you want. You must take this RV from my property to another location. You cannot stay in it on my property. Everything to connect this for power, water, and sewer at a campground will be provided. 30 amp power connection. It has one slideout. Air conditioner, heat, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, stove, kitchen sink, and bathroom. I will note that the shower is so small it isn't very practical, but the rest of the bathroom is good. There is no TV, but there is a radio. The radio has an input for you phone for music as well. You bring the cord. The queen bed will have a mattress pad and sheet, and there will be a mattress pad and sheet for the fold down couch. You bring everything else for bedding. For the kitchen, there will be: cooking utensils and small camping type pots and pans. You need to bring anything else you want. There is a gas grill that runs off the propane tanks that come with the RV. The awning is power so it sets up and takes down very quickly. This is a small RV that you can get inexpenive and pull with a lot of vehicles. It isn't fancy, but it gets you off the ground and provides heating and cooling if you have a 30 amp power connection. Heat will work off 20 amp power, but the AC and microwave may need the 30 amp power. It doesn't matter to me how many people use this at a time, but it isn't very big so I suggest you keep that in mind. I suggest you use this plugged in. The batteries do not last very long. Once the batteries run down the experience will not be very fun.

Eco-Cabin 2 was renovated by the Maine Cabin Masters. This cabin holds over 100 years of family history, yet has been elegantly renovated for guests' comfort and convenience. The cabins are accessible only by foot, about a quarter-mile walk on a camp road from a small parking area. Carts will be provided for hauling your gear. Enjoy quiet reflection from the screened in porch overlooking Cobbossee Stream. A shared dock is just around the corner from Eco-Cabin 2. This is a self-serve cabin.
This is a rustic, traditional Maine camp experience. There is no shower, only a "solar shower" that is warmed by the sun and then hung from a tree for you to use. Be prepared to bring your own sleeping bags or bedding. We provide two full size beds. The cabins have simple kitchens with hand-pumped water (not potable, bring drinking water or be prepared to filter or treat water) and a gas cook stove, composting toilets, a gas stove for heat, solar-powered lights, porches overlooking the stream, a shared dock, and a campfire pit.
Jean-Luc’s home is located in West Gardiner, Maine, United States. The Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary was generously bequeathed to the Kennebec Land Trust in November 2016 upon owner Kendra Wakefield Shaw’s passing. Its 113 acres feature historic cabins and 4,000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The stream reaches a depth of sixty feet, creating a pond-like environment. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and wetlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants. This is a special place, easily accessible to Maine's population centers, yet the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary offers the solitude and relaxation of a much more remote location. The Wakefield family enjoyed these cabins for over a hundred years, and we are pleased to share the experience with both the local community and visitors to Maine.
  • What a wonderful place to disconnect from stress and reconnect to loved ones. Very basic. Not for everyone, but if you want to disconnect this place is amazing!

  • Such an amazing place. Beautiful location. Right on the water with a nice screened in porch. We had a excellent stay and are planning on coming again

  • A wonderful getaway that’s incredibly easy to get to. Not far off 95, close to Augusta and not to mention the amazing stream the cabin sits almost on top of. We had a blast with the canoe and brought tubes to float in the stream. If you want a luxurious cabin though, this isn’t it. There’s no refrigerator and or potable water on site. This is a true camp and worth every penny we paid.

  • Timoth and Peter's place is a beautiful home. It is super clean. It has lots of extra touches such as bottle water and granola bars int he bedrooms as well as extra razors in the bathrooms. The kitchen was fabulous. We were even able to use the mixer and do a little baking while visiting with our daughter. This home is on a beautiful lake and very relaxing, but also is only about 6 miles from a wonderful grocery store. Highly recommend!

Historic home in small picturesque Maine river town. Yellow House, once owned by the first female winner of a Pulitzer prize; Laura E. Richards. The second floor apartment of this stately home reflects its historic past.
    Outside staircase access.
Gardiner is a historic and classic Maine mill town that features a beautiful riverfront park and retains the historic feel described by resident Pulitzer Prize winner, Edwin Arlington Robinson, in many of his poems. Gardiner offers a historic walking tour including Yellow House. Shopping, pubs, theater and riverfront are within easy walking distance one block away.
  • Kim and her family are amazing hosts. Their apartment is clean, safe, and has a cozy country cottage vibe. Perfect for a weekend or a moth day. Highly recommend!

    Christopher2020-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment at the Yellow House is a one-of-a-kind experience! Beautiful, warm, clean with lots of amenities and fantastic hosts!! Kimberly and John were absolutely welcoming and quick to respond to messages. They had great suggestions for things to do in the area and often checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. The space itself is tasteful and cozy (e.g., super quiet and top-notch comfortable) with everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and basics (spices, olive oil, etc) and the shower had lots of hot water ;) The house is really gorgeous with beautiful views of Maine's quiet nature and traditional historic houses. (Yellow House itself is deeply rooted in the local history). A waterfront park is less than five minutes away by foot, and the start of the Kennebec River Trail is just a little bit further. We often walked down to the river and then on to the cute little main street area. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, locally owned businesses, and more. (an organic Co-op too.) We really loved it! (Best breakfast spot: A1 Diner. Amaaaazing!) And the town is perfectly situated for visiting other great towns like Hallowell and Augusta (as well as a ton of hiking trails and state parks). Honestly cannot recommend Kimberly and John's place enough. What a unique Maine haven! We will be back in the warmer months!!

    Laura2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very charming, in a beautiful historic house within walking distance of downtown Gardiner. Kimberly was very quick to respond. I would recommend a stay here in any season!

  • What a charmer! Nestled up on a knoll in an inviting setting you can’t wait to see inside and you won’t be disappointed! A quiet and immaculate apartment surrounded by great garden views from every window. Tasteful decor and a comfortable bed, chairs and couch. What more could you ask for when staying Gardiner. Thanks Kimberly!

    Nicole2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely stunning. The pictures truly do not do it any justice. One of the more “home” feeling bnb’s I’ve stayed in before. Definitely cannot wait to come back again. Btw if you love fireplaces and wood stoves as much as me; this place has TWO! I would highly recommend!

    Stephanie2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's place was beautiful! Several other people have said that "the pictures don't do it justice" and this is definitely true. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. For the record, we chose this place specifically to get away from the city and if that's your goal, the cabin in located in some of the most beautiful country land I've seen. It's very rural.

This apartment is right in the downtown, but one street up so it is quiet. It is walking distance to multiple pubs, restaurants and live entertainment. Hallowell is the place that all of Central Maine comes to for fun and wonderful food.
  • My wife and I loved our stay at Pam’s and Eric’s AirBnB - so much that we already booked our next stay there! The apartment is spacious, extremely clean, and very functional: washer, drier, dish washer, fully equipped kitchen, multiple towels and blankets, etc. The beds are also very comfortable! We were particularly impressed by all the small touches, and the extra amenities such as bread, eggs, milk, wine, a great selection of coffee and snacks. We stay at AirBnBs very often and have never had all these extras! The apartment is also perfectly located one block from the main street in Hallowell where you will find many restaurants, pubs, and can go on a walk by the river. If you plan on visiting Maine and/or Hallowell, we absolutely recommend Pam’s and Eric’s AirBnB!

  • Very nice apartment in town very clean and nicely decorated.

    Ramona2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. The host was super easy to communicate with. The place is recently renovated and very well done. Beautiful design of the space, with lots of form and a very functional, fully stocked kitchen. Nice bedrooms with plenty of space for belongings, great towels, and super comfortable all around. We enjoyed our time in here, and it worked well with our two small children. The location is great. One block off the Main Street so you can walk to it all in a minute. We look forward to staying again. I stay in Airbnb often and this was one of the nicest I’ve found.

    Sarah2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was super clean and exactly how it was described. The hostess also left delicious muffins and Extra amenities such as eggs, milk, bread, tea, coffee. This was beyond our expectations and super thoughtful. Pamela goes above and beyond. The only thing that was slightly challenging was Parking because. Of the muddy bumpy hill we had to get up to park in the spot. Otherwise. Hallowell Is a charming Gem in Maine and Pamelas place is a comfy charming find we’re so glad we stumbled upon it.

    Madeline2020-03-03T00:00:00Z

    Courtney2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Eric’s place was perfect for us! The mid century decor was super, and the bed was comfy after a long day of travel. The little touches made us feel welcome and pampered - delicious blueberry muffins were waiting for a snack, and there was a great selection of coffee. The location was perfect, too - an easy walk to all the pubs and restaurants that Hallowell offers. Pam’s recommendations for dining were spot on, too. We hit Slates for dinner AND breakfast! And the Liberal Cup is a classic comfy pub not to be missed. Thanks for a perfect stay in Hallowell!

  • I’d never been to Maine before but stumbled upon the Maple Hill Inn on an Airbnb search and decided a few days far north would be excellent to nurse my disappointment in having to cancel a trip to Europe. The local town was very cute and patroned who we were able to before everything getting locked down. Scott and Vince were excellent hosts. The room and rest of the farm house was very clean and comfortable. I loved the cats roaming around and the llamas came out for an afternoon photo op. Breakfast was one of the best parts, I’d highly recommend the wild blueberry pancakes. I wouldn’t hesitate staying again next time I’m in the area.

    Mary2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, our two-year-old son and I stayed at the inn for a quick overnight on our way up north. It's a wonderful traditional bed & breakfast with excellent hospitality. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the setting and the hot tub and sauna; and I'm sure our son would have loved to see the farm animals.

    Sam2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very homey and clean place. Loved the bed and breakfast on a farm idea and Scott is very keen to make sure you have everything you need.

    Michael2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice bed and breakfast with a delicious breakfast and free homemade baked goods

    Tiffany2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Passed through on business and thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming and the atmosphere is great. Nice sauna. I will stay again if work brings me back to area!

    Joshua2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. You can expect comfortable rooms and bedding, a beautiful location, numerous amenities such as coffee and tea service round the clock, baked goodies, sauna and hot tub, and extremely gracious hosts. The farm is close enough to town to enjoy dinner out and several places have live music. We also hiked around nearby Jamie’s pond which was beautiful.

    Susan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun place to visit for a getaway for my husband and I! We loved the local area, and especially the quiet of the AirBnB location! Nothing but the sound of the birds and wind! There were so many special touches all over the place, you could tell they had spent lots of time considering everything to make your stay as wonderful as possible! We LOVED the sauna and hot tub! But my favorite part of staying here was that it was a very scent-neutral space...everything, from linens to the air) smelled fresh and clean but without perfumes or artificial scents!!

    Mary2019-06-17T00:00:00Z

  • Marcia's place is the perfect place to stay if you want to walk to downtown. There is several restaurants to choose from and if you enjoy live music, this city is the best place to find some in central Maine. We stayed in a large clean bedroom on the second floor. We had a 1/2 bath right next door and a shower downstairs for our use.

    Frank2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Marcia's place! It was actually just me, but at least 3 more people could have fit comfortably. I appreciated Marcia's quick communication and tips for what to do in town. If you don't have a car, know that her house is conveniently located only a 7 minute walk from downtown, it's just up a bit of a steep hill.

    Kathleen2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia has a beautiful home and was a lovely host. Very close - walking distance - to downtown Hallowell and very close to Augusta. We had a lovely time here - would come back and definitely recommend!

A small multi level, comfortable lake house. Located right on a large lake. Quiet neighborhood. Kayaks available. Steps down to the lake. Screened in porch on the lake side. Several nice gardens. Fully furnished. Has WiFi. Small fire pit. Host always available by phone.
Small outside area. A patio outside lower level. Small outside fire pit. Outside gas grill.
Friendly neighborhood. Small Town 3 miles away which has grocery store, drug store and gas station. One hour from the coast.
  • A beautiful, well kept and equipped chalet. There are 3 levels so you must be fully mobile. Also, getting down the driveway to the chalet can be a challenge for one who is not experienced backing up.

    Walter2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter, husband and I loved this rental! We were in the area for a family wedding, and my relatives staying in nearby hotels were totally envious. The house is right on the lake, which is large and clean and beautiful - we enjoyed kayaking and swimming and just sitting on the screened-in porch looking at the view. I loved lying in bed as the sun came up, watching the sunrise through the window without even sitting up. The three living spaces plus porch and patio allow everyone to spread out, and friends to stop by. And the whole house was sparkling clean, newly renovated, and well-appointed - the kitchen has everything you could want, and Bev even left us English muffins and gourmet coffee. We will definitely stay there again in the future - thanks Bev!

    Deborah2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay this summer at Bev’s Place. We had such an incredible time during our stay in June that we booked another week while flying home to Florida. Bev and Bob are the consummate hosts, always attentive to every detail of this property and responsive to all of our communications. The cottage is the perfect Maine summer getaway. We recommend Bev’s Place to anyone wanting to stay in a quintessential, lakefront cottage on Cobbosseecontee Lake. We look forward to making more memories there in the summer of 2020. Thank you Bev and Bob for making this a very special summer for us with our family and friends!

    Armand2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beverly’s house was fantastic. The location, right on the lake, was perfect for our long weekend. It was a short drive to Winthrop and Hallowell, and there was a ton to do around the lake. Wonderful experience all around!

    Andy2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I spent a 4th of July weekend here and it was the best! Bev and Bob are a nice and welcoming couple who gave us a rundown of the house on arrival. Their place is beautifully located at a lake which made it easy for swimming & kayaking (kayaks provided by them). The house was clean and all the amenities were functioning well making our stay even better. Is it also located an hour away from Camden, 2 hours 30 min from Acadia National Park and 15-20 min from Augusta. We visited all these places easily during the long weekend. Lastly, Bev was kind enough to allow us to check out a little later than stated in the policy since we wanted to swim a bit in the lake before our departure which made our stay consummate! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a quick getaway from the hustle of the city!

    Lavanya2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We could not be more pleased with the accommodations. The property was top notch, clean and found to be exactly as advertised. The highlight of our trip was the screened in front porch...it became the focal point of the home. We highly recommend Bev’s home to anyone seeking a quiet, clean lakefront getaway! We hope to return again soon.

    Armand2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice place so close to the lake you could almost jump in from the porch! The house has everything one might need and the 2 levels and porch/deck make it feel like everyone can have privacy. Charming decor. And so close to Augusta (with several nice attractions) and Hallowell (restaurants, bars with music, antiques). Really an ideal location on a lovely and large lake.

  • Beautiful secluded spot on the lake. Unique. Fun to canoe to and from the site, and having the canoe throughout our stay was wonderful. Did a whole lot of canoeing, swimming, enjoying the lake. Would definitely return.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Exceeded expectations for a peaceful getaway. Very cozy and almost everything you might need is stocked in the cabin, incase you forgot something. Fishing was great...one of the best in the state. Propane fire pit was awesome. I hope to have the opportunity to return. You'll love it.

  • This is a Very Special Location! We’ve been here 3 times. It offers a rarely found experience with a gorgeous lake, a dear cabin & a private island with a canoe. The birds are outstanding & all of nature. It’s in a relaxed & friendly part of wonderful Maine. All of which helps the busyness of life fall away.

    Sarah2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little island. Came just before a rain storm, energy was wonderful. Sun came out and with all windows open dried out, aired out and was very comfortable. We brought picnic items so didn't bother with cooking. We brought our own cooler with ice. Plates, utensils all there, washed up in the lake. Just enjoyed the canoe - caught up to a family of loons and got some great photos, loved hearing their calls during the day and some at night. Did lots of swimming and reading on the deck. Bed was comfortable, we put down a sleeping bag then our sheets and our own pillows. (there are several pillows there) The light blanket there was just right for early morning cool. The wind was just right for keeping us cool during the day on the deck . Lovely to hear the wind in the trees. Was visited by a humming bird so we cleaned out the dirty feeder very thoroughly and made up the proper 1 to 4 sugar to water mix and put it out. The two female hummers were very appreciative and came often after that. We also were visited by a Pileated Woodpecker. Was a pleasure to stay (we both grew up camping) and very relaxing and quiet. No noisy neighbors. A real get away retreat.

  • If you have a camper's heart, but don't want to sleep in a tent or have your vacation spoiled by rain and also want to just once in your life have an island to yourself...here's your personal heaven on earth. We loved this sweet place. Be forewarned though, that you will need to bring water, propane, batteries, bedding, towels as well as food and all the other camping things one packs. The lake is beautiful but big, so it was choppy when we were there and as we are not spring chickens, challenging with a canoe. However, most worthwhile and wonderful. Enjoy1

  • A special getaway for those who love Maine and being in nature. The cabin/camp is dear. The lake & birds are very beautiful.

Sunsets- Loons- Swimming- Kayaking - Fishing... Beautiful rustic Cottage on Pleasant Pond. Kitchen, livingroom porch overlooking the pond. Stairway down to the pond and a nice dock. The home has 2 bedrooms, 1 Queen bed, 2 twins , a futon and a cot. There is a small woodstove in the kitchen, a fireplace in the living room. There is 2 bathrooms 1 in the master with a shower and 1 in the other bedroom with a claw tub. The water is not drinkable therefore you will want to bring drinking water with you . There is a propane BBQ grill for all your grilling and an outdoor firepit. Don't want to drag you canoe or kayak up with you? We have 2 kayaks and 1 canoe that we rent for $50 for each, the full time you are renting with paddles and lifejackets. We also have a couple kids fishing poles to use, you will just need any lures or worms that you want to use. I suggest water shoes as the shore is rocky.
Quiet rustic secluded cottage. There are other waterfront cottages close by, but is usually very quiet for the most part. It gets a little busy in the water on weekends and holidays as you would expect.
  • This cabin is a rare find. It has two bedrooms which each have a bathroom. The kitchen had every amenity one would need. It had an electric range, a Keurig as well as a traditional coffee maker, along with a toaster oven, traditional toaster, and microwave. The host thought of everything. They supplied firewood and the long-handled lighters. The lake is wonderful and the location is close to everything.

    Tina2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Derek and Tammy’s cabin. Everything was as advertised and very comfortable in this lovely cabin. The location is great, on a very nice and large lake. We enjoyed using the kayaks on the water and the kids loved fishing off the dock where they caugh small fish with almost each cast! As others have pointed out, on weekends the lake is a little busier with motor boat and jetskis (although this didn’t bother us at all) but it is very quiet on weekdays. Communications with Tammy were super friendly and we always had quick and accurate responses to any inquiries. Derek and Tammy went out of their way to be helpful. They even left a gift for the kids that they loved. We really recommend a stay at this peaceful cabin! We’d also recommend a day at Popham beach, which was about a 40 minute drive. As some have mentionned there are relatively large dogs at the next door cabin and they do cross over. They didn’t look aggressive, but if you are affraid of dogs or have young kids outside, it’s worth noting.

    David2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view of the pond. Beautiful sunrises and sets. The cabin is very charming and feels much bigger than it is. My family of 5 was comfortable and relaxed the entire stay.

    Caleb2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The camp is well furbished and maintained. The view on the pound is superb. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Eating on the porch with screens is a plus. You can also swim right off the deck or fish. The children enjoyed catching small basses and crappies. But best of all is the reactivity of the host (Derek). We did not have much water pressure in the shower and he came right away to fix it (clogged filter). Derek also made sure that everything was to our liking during our stay by texting us. As for the surrounding, this is pretty much what other guests have reported. The pound is a bit crowded with boats and jetskis over the weekend but gets quieter during the week. It is also not a place for a walk on the road as Derek sister's dogs are keeping the place safe from intruders!

    Jean-René2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning views of the water, comfortable places to sit and enjoy. A great screened in porch and Adirondack chairs near the fire place. The dock is amazing with easy steps to the float. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was well stocked. It was perfect for my family to build some memories. Derek and Tammy were very thoughtful and great hosts - I highly recommend this place!

    Carrie2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our family enjoyed a quiet, relaxing stay at Pleasant Pond Camp. The camp is quite rustic, but that's what we wanted. The screened in porch is great for when the weather or insects are bad. The dock and outdoor fire pit area is nice. No complaints about the camp or the host. The only negative was that if you go for walks on the road leading to the camp, several of the neighbors along the road have some rather aggressive dogs which are not always kept inside. That's not something the host can control, of course, but something to keep in mind if you expect to take lots of walks on the otherwise quiet road.

    Philip2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at the cabin, couldn't ask for anything better, there are towns surrounding in every direction 20 minutes away if your looking for something to do, highly suggest going to Gardiner and walking down water street and Main Street. Will be booking next years trip asap.

    James2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at this cottage - back to nature but with comfortable beds! Great fishing, birdwatching, and stargazing on the private dock with our kids. The location is beautiful itself and is within easy driving distance of many coastal attractions. There are neighbors fairly close (with jet-skis) but we only saw them a couple times in the late afternoons and it didn't diminish our experience.

Rustic homey cabin nestled on the edge of farm fields. Price includes hearty farm breakfast for 2 ($20/pp additional guest). Watch sheep and goats wander outside your window. Four-course gourmet farm-to-table dinners available by reservation. $60/pp (10 years and older) $30pp under 10 years old. We are half way between Boston and Acadia National Park. We lived on Mount Desert Island so we know the hidden gems. Rural farm with dark skies and bright, magical stars.
Our farm cabin has a great feel of being connected to nature. It is quiet, cozy and a wonderful place to watch the sunset overlooking grazing animals. The cabin is unheated although during the shoulder seasons we put hot water bottles in the bed so you have a warm & cozy nights sleep. The cabin has one queen bed. There is also a fold-down (double bed) coach in the sitting room. We are a working organic farm, so farm tours (and helping with chores) are very much welcome! Farm fresh, organic breakfast with cabin rental. Four-course gourmet dinners are available for cabin guests at an additional charge of $60pp - by reservation only. After your long drive why not relax here on the farm, enjoy the beauty around you while savoring a farm fresh organic meal. The cabin does not have heat, electricity or running water ~ it is cozy, relaxing and perfect way to experience Maine & farm life. Outhouse is nearby. Plan to visit our farm store where you can buy award-winning cheese, goat-milk soap, beeswax candles, organic wool pillows, sheep and goat skins and other creations made by Patti. Chris is an avid biker and has several bike loops he can either lead you on or just send you off with a map. ~ GREAT BIKING. Loads of hiking trails are right out our door or wander down the gravel road. Visiting the animals (goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, cats and, of course, Denali - the farm hound) is always a highlight for guests. Thank you for considering staying with us on our farm. For the past five years, hundreds of people have enjoyed playing with the lambs, visiting our pigs, walking on our trails, relaxing in a cell-free zone, and sipping delicious coffee over warm muffins and a steaming breakfast. We look forward to hosting you this summer. At the present time (April 15th) we have not opened the cabin for guests. We anticipate doing so in early summer (June). You may make reservations now for the summer. In past summers our cabin is booked every night – so we encourage you to make reservations soon. If you would like to talk over your plans, please give us a call. Denali the hound looks forward to welcoming you!
Our neighborhood is "rural." We live adjacent to the largest roadless area in mid coast Maine. Our property is connected to miles of trails for walking, mountain biking or cross country skiing. Whitefield is a farming community - with a terrific general store (Sheepscot General). The Amish have recently moved to town - giving Whitefield a particular country-charm. We are also very close to the Sheepscot River for those who want to paddle, swim or just listen to the rippling water. Chris is an avid biker and has several bike loops he can either lead or just send you off with a map.
  • Great hosts, awesome farm with the cutest lambs you can chill with. Really thoughtful touches from super friendly hosts. Highly recommend for farm cabin experience!

  • Patti and Chris are wonderful hosts! The cabin is clean, and hot water bottles were placed in the bed to keep the bed warm! They actually lasted the whole night. We had the farm to table dinner WOW! One of the best meals we’ve had! Patti’s breakfasts were also great! The farm store has some great items. This cabin is a great place to stay and unwind! Highly recommend!

    Samantha2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was just the respite we needed! Looking for a place to unplug, relax, and watch the animals graze? This is the place. Patti is warm, personable, and a wealth of knowledge about what to do in Maine. I cannot recommend her and this lovely cabin enough!

    Jessica2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Patti and Chris were wonderful hosts! They had lanterns and hot water bottles ready for us when we arrived, and the directions to the cabin were very clear. The place is really cozy and clean, and very comfortable. Even the outhouse had cute decorations! The breakfast was great and we got some wonderful suggestions for things to do in the area. Thanks for a great stay!

    Alex2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this wonderful cabin enough. The beautiful property granted us sweet releif from the world found inside our phones, eternally demanding our attention. And so too, the friendly animals and warm hospitality of Patti and Chris will stay with us for some time. Thank you, Patti and Chris.

    Elijah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Patty and Chris are excellent hosts! I most enjoyed the delicious and warm breakfast Patty served up every morning. My boyfriend’s highlight was getting to milk their goats! They offered many suggests on local attractions and we took them up on almost every one! We’re so glad we did as we had an unforgettable time and very much look forward to returning. We’re so grateful to Patty and Chris for making their working farm quite the Airbnb gem!

    Catherine2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Patti is a great host and will teach you how to milk a very excited goat! The farm is beautiful and the animals are happy and enjoy plenty of space. If you go here you will get a beautiful cabin to yourself, you will fall asleep with the singing of the crickets and wake up to the rooster. And then get an amazing pancake and goat yogurt smoothie breakfast :)

  • Mark and his wife are wonderful hosts! They are right there for anything you would need but also give you plenty of privacy. The apartment was clean and had everything you would need. He even made sure we had bottled water in the fridge and fresh flowers in the window. He also accommodated another night last minute for us. Can't wait to go back again!

    Aimee2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and his lovely wife Allsion are super friendly hosts. Their place close to the Cobbosseecontee Lake is the perfect location to calm down. The possibility to use their dock for fishing, swimming or simply hanging out made this trip unforgettable. We would have loved to find some more supply in the kitchen, but Marc was happy to help out with everything needed. All in all a great place, we would definitely go there again.

    Janek2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful apartment with a simply amazing view of the huge lake spread out before you. Mark was a great host, so kind and friendly. He gave us great tips on restaurants and helped my husband book a spot on the golf course which is right up the road (he walked there in the morning). The kitchen was great for having coffee or making a meal and the TV and small balcony porch were both very comfortable. Everywhere you just see the sparkling lake! Be sure to bring extra jugs of spring water....the tap water has a high sulfur content which is common in some rural places, so you'll want good water for drinking and cooking. You'll have lots of peace and quiet here and plenty of relaxation.

    Deborah2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great one bedroom apartment right by the lake! Mark is a great host who is welcoming and friendly and welcomed us to park our boat overnight on his dock and offered good tips on local spots. Right around the corner from Lakeside Marina where we rented our fishing boat. Steps to a great little 18 hole golf course designed by Donald Ross which was a big bonus to squeeze in 9 holes during our fishing weekend. The restaurant / bar at the clubhouse had great food and is recommended even for those who are not playing golf. Will be back again!

The House is located conveniently at the end of the hotel parking lot. We were able to enjoy the hotel breakfast each morning. The photos in the listing are accurate. Just a note, the bathroom is not connected to the bedroom. You enter the bathroom after passing through the kitchen.

Fabulous location on "Togus Pond," a lake for boats, kayaks, fishing, swimming water sports. This home sits right on the water's edge and offers spectacular views from most rooms. It's like being on a houseboat without the floating. A perfect place for an adult getaway or vacation with the children. The home is pristine, comfortable and outfitted with modern amenities. There are two bedrooms situated on opposite sides of the one-story. a row boat or kayak we can make available at no charge
  • Sue's place is a great weekend getaway. My group used it for grilling, firepitting, swimming, rowing, and as a crash pad after our trips to Acadia. It's about 2 hours to Acadia and there's plenty of fun stuff to check out on the way

  • Sue's Place is incredible. Homey, roomy, comfortable, and everything we could have needed was provided. Our party of 6 men all had comfortable sleeping arrangements. The additional touches were spectacular: extra soap & loofah, lots of TP, towels for everyone, cooking implements, garbage bags, and even extra Zip-Loc bags for our cooking leftovers. Sue and her husband even installed a fire pit at our request, so our party could enjoy a campfire using wood we had delivered to the site. In all, our stay at Sue's Place was utterly wonderful, and we will definitely be back year after year.

  • We stayed in Room A which is near the front door. You may hear some creaking from the people walking on the floor above and coming down the steps, but that is some of the charm of staying in an old house. Room A is small but adequate and has a very comfortable bed. Andrea has thought to include everything you would need in the room to make your stay pleasant. As stated in her description, the room shares a bathroom with room B. Although, it may be a little inconvenient to have to walk through the very well stocked kitchen to get to the bathroom, we didn’t really find it a problem. Andrea has left instructions for guests in the house and has everything labeled to help you know what to do and where things are located in the house, especially in the kitchen. The neighborhood felt safe and was very quiet. The house is convenient to the shops, etc. on Water Street in Hallowell and to the river.

  • Andrea's house is really cool, it's a super old home that's renovated but you can feel how old it still is. Walking distance to so many things in Hallowell. Great spot if you're trying to drive further north and want a stop over.

    Justin2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Beautiful location, rooms come with great amenities such as robes, towels, mini fridge, ear plugs and white noise machine. The beds were very comfortable as well as the rooms. The rooms had digital locks on them for extra sense of security. I would definitely stay here again and you can’t beat the price for the location. A 2 minute walk to a nice little Main Street of a town with multiple bars and restaurants. The host was excellent and very responsive. She made the whole process of checking in very easy and was very welcoming.

  • Andrea's place is in a quiet neighborhood a bit south of Augusta. There is a lovely walking trail leading to the city, and there are also shops and restaurants in Hollowell, too. Andrea was friendly and responsive during my stay, and she was even kind enough to give me a ride to the bus station. I highly recommend staying with her!

Quiet waterfront cabin & tent site
Rustic cabin right on the bank of tidal Kennebec River. Next to Swan Island Wildlife Preserve. We are now open year-round! Great for family gatherings and staycations. It’s our fondest wish that this cabin provides a setting for a relaxing and refreshing gathering for your family, extended family, a few friends, or a getaway for the two of you. This is not the place for loud parties; please see our house rules. Fish, kayak or just relax by the river and watch the eagles. There’s almost always a breeze coming in from the river, and so, relatively few bugs. Please see the bottom of this description to read about the precautions we are taking because of the Coronavirus. INSIDE there are beds for 10, kitchen, dining table, bathroom with shower, sitting area, heat pump/AC, wood pellet stove, WiFi, stereo w/Bluetooth for your music device, DVD player, TV, and a large covered porch. No meals are served, although coffee & tea are provided with the Keurig. The cabin is open-concept with 2 bedrooms. NEW FOR 2020: the cabin is now insulated and climate-controlled. All newly insulated walls are finished with tongue & groove pine. New photos coming soon. NEW FOR 2019 is a second bedroom, and an enlarged kitchen with a full size range. OUTSIDE there's a campfire ring, plenty of lawn chairs, picnic table, gas grill, a big lawn with lots of both sun and shade, a swing set, space for tents, and we provide 2 canoes and 3 kayaks with life vests & gear. It's nice & quiet on a dead-end gravel road. A new public boat ramp is only 1/4 mile away for launching your boat at any tide level. 5 minutes away is Richmond with restaurants, pub, gas, stores, laundry and ice cream. Swimming is not ideal at the cabin. For the best swimming, there is a small public park with lakefront swimming about 20 minutes away, and two choices of ocean beaches about an hour away to the south. You get the peace & quiet of going 'upta camp' without the long drive or the bugs. There is a cleaning fee of 100.00; it covers normal cleaning after your stay. We do ask you to wash the dishes and clean up food crumbs and loose trash, and try to put things where they belong. If an accident occurs and you need something cleaned during your stay, please let us know and we’ll take care of it. Of course, for longer stays, we will launder towels and linens for you part way through your stay, upon request. We have no septic hookup for your camper or RV, if you bring one. Our home is next door, and we work in town weekdays at the sign shop we own. To the north is Augusta, Maine’s capital, with hospital, museums and shopping. Driving time from the cabin to... The filters in the cabin’s new heat pump also help reduce any airborne viruses, bacteria and allergens. Certain hard-to-disinfect items have been temporarily removed from the cabin, including board games, books, magazines, pamphlets, DVDs, wicker items, and toys. Upon checkout, please open a few windows. Even though there is extra cleaning needed during this time, we are not increasing our cleaning fee from last year.
1 Mile away is Swan Island, a popular wildlife refuge with hiking trails, bicycling, historic buildings and guided tours. It's a wonderful day trip for families.
  • This cabin has such a beautiful view and it perfectly located between Portland and Augusta. The hosts are amazing and I would 100% go back!

  • Thanks for having us! I personally loved the little touches like the small canvas painting of the cabin next to the kitchen window, as well as the wall outside of the bathroom covered by the map of the area. We also really appreciated the town and the property. This was a special trip for us and we will never forget it. Especially the epic 12 inning baseball game Sunday! The cabin slept 10 comfortably and we much appreciated being able to use the range, sink and cast iron skillet for cooking breakfasts and dinner. Big recommend!

  • What a peaceful and fun retreat! My husband and I felt like kids again, enjoying the campfire at night, playing wiffle ball in the yard, and card games in the evening (didn’t turn on the TV once!). Comfortable beds, warm blankets, and that awesome front porch - all made our time there that much better. The seats by the river were extra special, as was the hammock. Great location, too - we were always just a 20-30 min drive away from wonderful little villages and towns that we enjoyed exploring. Best of all, our 10-year-old Labrador retriever loved every moment of it, and was living her best life. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend!

  • What a terrific place place to stay! Beautifully situated home and well maintained. Jacki and Kevin were very responsive! Anything you might think you’d need can be found at this cabin, including ample firewood for the fire pit. Plenty of space to relax.

  • We stayed at Jacki’s place for a wedding in Georgetown, Maine at grey havens inn. We absolutely loved it and it was perfect for a group of 8-10. It was very affordable and the hosts were very thoughtful. We were actually bummed we had to go to a wedding because we wanted to stay and enjoy the land. They had everything for us and I would highly recommend for family or friend get togethers!

Andrea's place is equipped with everything you could possibly want and more! She really goes above and beyond for her guests. We had the pleasure of running into her during our stay and she was incredibly sweet. We made sure to let her know we'll be staying with her again whenever we're in town.

  • This was my first stay in Maine and it exceeded my expectations! The rooms are very cute and cozy. Across the street is a beautiful historic church and it's also walking distance to the downtown district and the Kennebec River. Great food options in downtown Hallowell and the little tavern stays open pretty late so you have have a drink and listen to the band at night. Perfect place for a solo traveler!

  • Perfect stop to stay overnight between Maryland and Prince Edward Island. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer to enjoy everything offered. The house was more than clean and very quaint yet modern with a large and inviting kitchen. Shared bathroom worked out well and we had lots of privacy but other guests were kind when we encountered them. Host was helpful too about local spots. A great spot off of the highway!
