Cottage by the Ocean is close to art and culture, great views, restaurants dining, and museums. The guest room is dubbed the Tree Top because of the skylight and the corner windows tree view. Cottage by the Ocean is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. Please note that my two cats, Puppie and Pistol, help with the hosting. Convenient to Rockland, Rockport, and Camden. The room (see photo galley) can accommodate 2 travelers (+$20). Extra disinfectant applied between guests.
Dubbed the "Tree Top" room because it corner windows look out on a wooded scene and the sky light always provides a glimpse of the sky. The cozy Ikea-styled room with s is quiet and comfortable for a short stay in the area. The desk area is well lit and includes easy access electric outlets and a charging station.
Cottage on the Ocean features an unobstructed view of the Atlantic. Quiet neighborhood. Just a mile away, downtown Rockland offers boutique shopping, world class museums, and great dining. The location is perfect if you are participating in programs at Maine Media Workshops, Center for Woodworking, The Apprenticeship Program or other extended length educational activities. Great proximity to Rockland's downtown Strand Theatre whether you're coming for a musical concert or for one of the many events such as the Camden Conference or the Camden. International Film Festival And of course The Maine Lobster Festival, The North Atlantic Blues Festival and Rockland's premiere art museums: the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and the Farnsworth Art Museum. other museums include The Sail and Steamship Museum and the LIghthouse Museum.
  • Pam, Pistol and puppy are warm and welcoming host. The only thing better then the view is the shower!

    Courtney2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great view, parking right outside the house, easy access to the center of town but far enough away to avoid any crowds. My stay was in winter, when tourist amenities are limited, so I can't comment on available activities in the area.

    Jc2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great view and great host!

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! I highly recommend it but you must like cats. If you do they are two of the best cats around.

    Tim2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to rest, relax and enjoy a few days in Owl’s Head and Rockland! Great location and Pam is a kind, friendly and conscientious Host🌈🏡💕

    Lisa2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I was so excited to come across Pam's place, and even more thrilled when I arrived! A true home away from home, I instantly felt relaxed as soon as I stepped foot in the door. Pam and her kitties are wonderful hosts. Everything about this place is ideal: the location (what a VIEW!), the room, the sweet little breakfast nook in the room, and, of course, the price. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Daniela2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views. Comfortable space. Warm and welcoming host!

    Shelby2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, inviting and in a perfect location. Pam has beautiful views of the bay and a quiet, peaceful room with a comfy bed. The cats are an added bonus! Pam was very responsive when I needed to change my checkin time - what a relief! Thank you for a great stay!

The Southend is a friendly and vibrant oasis in Rockland. Located close to all restaurants, museums and points of interest, our neighborhood is a perfect base from which to explore the area. It is a working waterfront neighborhood with the boats, people, noise and action commonly associated with such an environment. I am saddened to say that I will be only accepting reservations until the end of April. Then this Airbnb will close. Thank you.
The second floor apartment of The Daniel W. Look House is located on Mechanic Street , the southern border of the Southend, with water views over the harbor towards Owls Head. The entry way foyer and stairs lead up to the open living room and kitchen. To to the left the bedrooms, with the queen suite looking out over the Sail, Power and Steam Museum. There is a full bathroom including a washer and dryer stack. The whole apartment has just been completely renovated from fresh paint, fresh sheets and refurbished white pine floors.
The neighborhood includes The Coastal Children's Museum, The Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum. There are many Victorian houses to view and plenty of shaded streets to stroll. It is a short stroll into town along the Boardwalk. Lots to explore and experience.
  • Extra! Really comfortable and well located

    Marie-Claire2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space at an amazing location! Matthew promptly met us when we arrived and showed us around the space. We really enjoyed the water views and close proximity to downtown.

    Kaitlyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing find! Excellent location and the apartment was so comfy and cozy! Such a shame it is closing :(

    Allison2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was perfect for relaxing after a long day of driving and walking around. We loved this house, it was decorated really nicely and felt calm. Great location for exploring the area, too.

    Kate2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, really comfortable, lots of the little things are all there. Bathroom and kitchen well stocked, very comfortable living room, great mattress. Heat was just right, kitchen was super. Bath and shower-- all very good. Our favorite airbnb in a half dozen trips to Rockland.

    Leigh2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Matt was a wonderful host. His communication skills were excellent, as he was very quick to respond to my questions. He greeted us at the door and gave us a quick tour. The apartment is really nicer than the photos. Rooms were clean and cozy and the location was perfect. We could walk on a waterfront trail from the apartment to the town in 15 minutes. We highly recommend this Airbnb for your next stay in the beautiful coastal towns of Maine.

    Howard2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for easy access to Rockland, but on a nice, quiet street. Very spacious second floor, 2 bedroom apartment with lots of good light. Nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. The only thing we would have liked to have had is a microwave. But that in no way made our rating less than 5 stars!

    Sally2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time renting Matthew’s place. It is a cozy little apartment with plenty of room for two of us and more. It is stocked with anything you could need. Impeccably clean. Convenient location. Quiet neighborhood. Matthew is excellent at communication and is next door if you need anything. We hope to rent it again in the future!

  • A lovely place. It was the perfect place after a long day of hicking !

  • Second time we stayed here. Lovely place

    Bart2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying in this quaint cabin. Marci was so kind as to let us have our pup stay there as well! She made checking in and checking out seamless and was very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. The property is beautiful and you get the best of both worlds of being hidden in the tranquil woods of Rockport Maine and only a minute drive to the ocean views! Thank you for being such a great host Marci!

    Julianne2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location is close to sevices but feels secluded. Has a nice open living area and kitchen with fireplace, comfortable seating, games and a large tv. Having the in unit washer/dryer was so helpful. We enjoyed a cozy christmas in this beautiful cabin in the woods!

    Gretchen2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place; Marci is very responsive and very cordial. It’s beautifully decorated and had everything I needed.

    Susan2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cabin that has all the comforts of home. Marci was very communicative throughout our stay. It is conveniently located between Rockland and Camden. We enjoyed our stay and we plan on returning in the future.

    Lucy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, cozy stay at Marci's place! The cabin itself is very well-appointed (the working fireplace, smart TV/wifi, and openness to canines was absolutely critical given the lousy weather we were granted during our stay), and the location can't be beat by anything in this budget.

    Katie2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this cabin. It is very close to everything on the coast from Rockland to Belfast. The cabin is very comfortable and inviting.

    Seth2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely immaculate property, a close walk to the bay. The living room even has a view of the bay. While small, this cottage was perfect for our stay. Highly, highly recommend.

The studio was as described and the location is about a 5 minute walk to all of Rockland's restaurants and shops. Nicole provided wonderful restaurant and sightseeing suggestions in Rockland and the surrounding areas. We would recommend staying with Nicole.

This cozy 2 bedroom is just a short walk away from the historic rockland art district. Recently redone and clean with a lighthouse view, great deck, nice kitchen, and outdoor grill. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood on the north side of the harbor. Close proximity to pretty much everything. That’s the beauty of rockland!
  • The house was cozy, comfortable, and clean. We loved enjoying the beautiful sunrise over the harbor from the porch, too! Downtown Rockland was only a short walk away. Would love to stay here again. Thanks, John!

    Dalton2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Clean and cozy. Would definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in Rockland!

    Rebecca2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night but would definitely return next time we are in town! We needed a spot to rest our heads with our toddler before heading to North Haven for the weekend. We parked our car in line at the ferry terminal and were able to walk back easily. The place was super clean and very cozy. Had everything we needed.

    Brittany2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place is a quaint house that is comfortable for four people and has easy access to supermarket, McDonald’s and Burger King. The kitchen is well equipped - which is great for us since my mom needs her daily freshly prepared vegetables. The kitchen also has a large pot for cooking lobsters.

    Kathy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a weekend trip. Well placed for exploring the coast

    Lucy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is adorable and perfect for the Camden Film Festival weekend. Great view of the lighthouse too!

    Jesse2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place is in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is a short walk to downtown -close to Claws and Home Kitchen. The bed was comfortable, the house was clean and we appreciated having a washer and dryer available. We would gladly stay here again.

    Mary Beth2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place is in a really nice quiet residential location. It’s also super convenient and has a hannaford supermarket 5 mins walk away, a lobster shack - claws- and rockland’s most popular breakfast spot also a few mins walk away. House had plenty of space for family of 3. Off street parking, deck with glimpses of ocean and washer dryer. John was flexible and responsive. Recommend!

  • Great fun getaway! The studio apartment was very comfortable and cozy. We're looking forward to a return trip. We live in Maine and still found the area fresh and fun. Rockland Has enough to do for a day or more then there's Camden and the islands. Much more to do than a weekend allows. Might want to bring your own fire wood if you want a fire in the evenings. Thank you Paula and Carlo!

    Andrea2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Salty Dog was a perfect place for me to base my trip to Coastal Maine. There is a beautiful view and you can watch the sunrise without getting out of bed in the mornings, or you can sit in the swings and enjoy your coffee outdoors. Paula's photography is beautifully displayed throughout the suite. Paula and Karlo were great hosts and I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Maine.

    Tammi2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! We loved the location - close enough to pop into town but also far enough to feel like a tiny escape. The yard was perfect for our pup and baby to enjoy some outdoor time and the place is the perfect amount of room to feel comfortable and relaxed. Paula and her husband were so friendly and helpful (and Guiness the dog was so very sweet as well!) Can't wait to go back!

    Mary Beth2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beyond spectacular. A hidden gem on the mountain that leaves you breathless upon walking into the back yard. Each morning you watch the sunrise over the valley and water-a spot we enjoyed our morning coffee. It’s a short distance to Rockland and minutes to other small towns. We accessed both Bath, ME and Acadia from here. A great time!

    Nicole2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • our family of three come on myself and my husband and our ten-year-old son had a wonderful 3 night stay Impala and Marcos lovely home. The met us upon arrival and we next saw them during our departure. We were off on adventures everyday and wished we had had more time to just enjoy the space and The View and the amenities. The accommodations are very clean, they have everything you need for a stay, whether it be a few nights or a week or more. The location is outstanding. We mainly were in Rockland Rockport and Camden. All within minutes. We went out to Owls Head Lighthouse, up Mount battie, Hiked Beech Hill preserve, sailed on the owl out of Camden Harbor (which I highly recommend!.) , enjoy the views and Rockport Marine Harbor with Andre the Seal statue. There is so much to do just within a few miles of Paula and Marcos house. We were able to make scrambled eggs and have breakfast in the morning but we were out and about and had our lunches and dinners elsewhere. The queen size bed and the pull-out sofa were perfect for us and very comfortable. The bathroom is spacious as is the tub and shower. All Linens were provided which made it that much easier for me when packing up the car! There are lots of great Maine magazines and books to read .There were also a few fans of which came in handy during the Heatwave. Even with the high temperatures ,just having the windows open and the fans going we were very comfortable. Paula and Marco have created a very idyllic situation for themselves and it is wonderful that they share it with us. We would hope to visit them and enjoy their spot again in the future. We would love to go back!

  • Ken and John were such fantastic hosts. Gave us some great local tips and where to eat and what to see. The bedroom was very comfortable and the whole house was sparkling clean. They even had coffee made for us at a time we requested. Beyond that they are just both lovely humans, would definitely stay there again if ever in Rockland again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ken and John's place. It's conveniently located (you can easily walk to the shops, restaurants and the Farnsworth art museum). The room is spacious with a very comfortable queen bed (plus a huge walk in closet to store you luggage). The bathroom has an awesome shower!! Ken also gave us plenty of great dining suggestions. Loved all the artwork in the hallways and room (some of it was John's). Would definitely stay here again!!

  • What a fabulous calm place to stay after my hectic sailing trip. The house is very central a short walk from Miranda's cafe - room was great and in a separate bit of the house with a separate sitting room. The hosts were super friendly and helpful and even dropped me to the airport the next day ! Would thoroughly recommend and hope to stay here again sometime.

  • Ken’s house made for a great stop in Rockland. It was walkable to the cute downtown area. Ken was a great host. We would definitely stay here again if in the area!

Please, no smoking/vaping, no pets. The hosts live in the house. 10pm cutoff for first-night check-in.
Private home, classic 1910 architecture, second-floor bedroom (steep stairs) with west-facing window. Private bathroom with shower and skylight. • This was my second stay at this listing, and again, the space was perfect and immaculate. The hosts are gracious and friendly and clearly work hard to make the place as inviting and comfortable as possible. The amenities are awesome and include a mini fridge, a private bath, a desk, and a coffee maker. I can't say enough positive things about this listing. I will certainly look to stay here in future visits to the Rockland area.

My home is close to ocean, ponds & lakes, great views, Rockland & Camden, art & culture. You’ll love my place because of the interior light, the comfy beds, the kitchen & sunny yard. The cozy layout is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families. For maximum happiness & satisfaction read all but especially Neighborhood details carefully before booking. Thank you!
The apartment is about 800 sq. ft. in a renovated Victorian era farmhouse on the second floor (walk up). There is a small kitchen, a full bath with a shower and a separate bathtub. All of the charm of the style of the house is intact and has been enhanced by the updated space. The washer and dryer are in the apartment.
This is a social and busy spot, not remote nor secluded, the house is located on and overlooking Coastal Route 1. This is our main highway along the coast. It maybe busier during the day and much quieter in the evening.(URL HIDDEN) Some people who are not accustomed to traffic noise may not appreciate the din. Also here, is a small sandy tidal private access beach across Rt.1. Bring your sports sandals and/ or rubber boots, walking sticks, etc. When the tide is out, one can pack a picnic and beach comb. It’s less a flip flop beach and more of a keen or Teva sandal beach; proper athletic footwear enhances the experience! The beach changes it’s landscape everyday depending on what storms bring. One day it will be very sandy and on another covered with large pebbles and baby head sized stones and driftwood trees. It’s an adventure and nothing is ever the same from one day to the next. See the marked nature Path on the beach side of Warrenton St. 1/4 mile away. Check the tides for Rockport at US Harbors website. The proximity to so many great places here at Clam Cove are within short driving distance. Golfers have a public course in Rockland! This area has interesting shops and restaurants & draws international favor for its sailing...and festivals; Summer Solstice, Blues Festival, "Lobster Festival" and May - September "First Friday Art Walks"(URL HIDDEN) Rockport proper is less commercial with it's pretty harbor and walkable Beauchamp Point trail bringing one as far as Aldemere Farm, Children's Chapel and back through neighborhoods(URL HIDDEN) In Camden where shopping & dining is good and great the town hosts The Windjammer Festival in September, Christmas by the Sea in December and The International Toboggan Race in February at the Camden Snow Bowl Recreation Area (it is a very cheery winter event). Bicycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, Vespa (scootering) is all possible here as well as more Sloth-like activities such as beach blanketing. There are so many creatures birds and deer, fox, ground hogs, beaver and BIRDS in the neighborhood that I call it a highway route through a forest, across from the ocean. We love it!
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sarah’s place! Sarah is warm, generous, and thoughtful. She offered excellent recommendations for our visit and her apartment had all the nice touches to make our stay extra special. The apartment has modern amenities, charming decor, and gets beautiful Eastern light. Sparkling clean. Also, Rte 1 is pretty quiet in December. We felt at home and loved waking up to the waterfront view. Additionally, this location is very convenient to the center of Rockport, Rockland, Camden, and Owl’s Head. Grateful for our weekend getaway here—Sarah & her place is really fantastic!

    Amy2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a fantastic host and has a super cute little apartment. She helped us find a nice restaurant open in the off-season, recommended a local trail, and helped us with a medical emergency. Big kudos to her warm and friendly spirit that made the stay so much better than it otherwise would have been. The apartment is cute and has many little nooks. You have to climb about 15 stairs to get up to the apartment and the stairwell just opens into the overall apartment, which took a little getting used to...but it wasn't long before we felt really at home. We enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommend.

    Heather2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was SO responsive and friendly! (ie: When we had issues with our Netflix account, she offered to come right up and assist us.) Beautiful space, too. And her dog Oscar was fabulous!!

  • We had a lovely time at this apartment. Everything was clean and tidy and location was great for venturing out to different little towns in the area. The wifi is a little weak in this area but you really aren't too concerned about that because you are too busy exploring.

    John-Pam2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was so so awesome!!!!! She was so kind and fun and her puppy, King Oscar was the cutest sweetest guy! The space was clean and incredibly adorable with all the fun touches to make it more homey. I’ve never been able to sleep through the night whenever I’m away from home but the beds were so comfy that I slept great! Would love to come and stay again. Thank you Sarah!!!!!

  • Perfect place! Private, cute, awesome host, and super easy access to Camden and Rockland

    Jim2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Arriving at Sarah's I expected it to be nice~ I chose it based on the pictures on the site, as well as the reviews. Then I arrived and found that Sarah had added even more wonderful things to the apartment. The creativity and talent that she has utilized in making the apt a place one hardly wants to leave, is impressive. I loved the decor of every room, was crazy for the giant tub to luxuriate in...and she is so hospitable and lovely...all the previous reviews sang her praises and with good reason. I add mine- gold stars all around. When traveling when there are kitchens and I plan to do some cooking I bring certain kitchen gadgets..garlic press, for example. For that reason everything I needed when I did cook I had- some hers, some mine. Oh, and she has really good knives for cutting. Bed really comfy! The traffic can get noisy, but I always travel with ear plugs. Sarah did not know that and provided some "in case", as well as homemade soap...really, I actually did hate that I had to leave. So glad I chose to stay there- Sarah, Oscar, and the property~ all winners, which made me one, too :-)

Come visit and enjoy our beautiful mid-coast area!
  • Cozy quiet place!

  • The cabin is cozy and has a fantastic location; within walking distance of the center of town. The space was very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and I loved the little porch. Great stay and I would go back again!

    Emily2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was quaint and lovely. A short two-minute drive to the main town by the port. A great place for two- very cozy and homey!

    Giulia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The home is very small, but still has everything 1-2 people could need. This is a cozy comfy tiny house, which is very clean and close to Downtown Camden. I’d recommend the home to anyone passing through the area.

    Tony2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what an adorable cottage to stay in- almost like a “tiny house”. Full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, toaster and other cooking utensils. Different kitchen condiments left to use. The bed was comfortable and very cozy. Cottage is easy to find and very close to town! Town is adorable and fun to walk around with great restaurants and breweries. Power went out in town and Margaret was quick to respond to help us figure out why and even offered to send someone over to look at our electricity (this was before we found out the power went out in the whole town). Camden is a cute, quaint small town with friendly locals. Great stay for a great price! Will come again.

    Kelly2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Margaret’s place during a Birthday / Valentine’s Day getaway. We wanted to escape from our busy life in the city for just a little bit and this turned out to be the perfect destination for just that! It was extremely cozy. Especially during the cold, winter nights. It was also very quiet and a convenient distance away from what Downtown Camden has to offer. We would definitely stay again if we’re ever back in the area!

    Gabrielle2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cozy and warm! We traveled to Camden for a quick overnight trip and were so pleasantly surprised at how comfortable our stay was. Don’t let winter deter you from a Maine getaway! Would absolutely stay again at this cute cottage for two.

    Kendi2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I visited Camden in February to celebrate our anniversary and we absolutely loved this cute little cabin! Perfect location, spotlessly clean and just the right size for a couple. Enjoy everything coastal Maine has to offer in this coastal home with great ocean views. The space is light and bright and yet cozy! With Clam Cove right out your door you may never want to leave. The house has a well appointed kitchen and is well maintained. The living room has a TV and elec. fireplace. You will find everything you need and more in this comfortable seaside retreat. Access to the beach is a short walk away. Restaurant ideas are in a folder, as well as sailing ideas.
During July, August and September a very large mallard population can be seen waddling from the beach to the yard. The air is clean and the sun is bright! The back yard is quite large and bright. It's grassy and we don't use it very much, but you could!
There are too many restaurants, coffee shops and small markets to mention, I have an extensive list of all the best spots to try in the house, as well as plenty of brochures that offer some Maine coast sailing adventures, among other things.
  • STOP! This is the one. I can’t say enough good about this place. It’s clean, darling, the host is great to work with and the view of the ocean was a great surprise too.

    Angelia2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you are coming to Midcoast Maine, this is where you want to be. This charming cottage has a view and access to Clam Cove, and easy access to Route 1. It is a completely remodeled space within a historic structure, with it's own patio and grill (and washer/dryer!). The host provides a lot of suggestions for things to do and places to eat, and is quick to answer any questions. What you can expect, in short, is perfection.

  • This place is picture-perfect, just like the pictures online, in fact. The place is right across the street from a beautiful cove and within range of all the great towns in this area. Catherine left tips on where to eat and play, which were spot on. She happened to have a supply of my favorite coffee in the cupboard. I stayed here while doing a Maine Media program - would stay again (or live here for that matter!). Thanks for the kind hospitality, Catherine.

  • Carrie was the most amazing host I have ever encountered on Airbnb. We were traveling was five kids and she had amazing recommendations for family activities that would captivate the entire crowd. She was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area and offered excellent suggestions from food to activities that led to wonderful memories for our family! Additionally, Carrie checked up on throughout our stay to make sure we were taken care of. Upon arrival, she provided a thoughtful handwritten note and additional contact information should anything come up during our stay. I cannot speak more highly of Carrie. The home is cute and was a great location for all of our ventures. It is a dog friendly home and I believe a dog lives in the home when it is not occupied with folks from Airbnb. That is clearly explained in the description. A great stay!

Carrie put so much thought into making us feel welcome (fresh linens, soft towels, suggestions to local haunts, kayaks). The kitchen was even stocked with supplies for a yummy country breakfast! Communication is amazing with these extremely considerate hosts. Fully stocked kitchen, small patio, plenty of space to spread out (family of 5). Rent this home!

It is centrally located in a lovely neighborhood. Amanda was very quick to respond to every question we had.

  • I enjoyed staying at Amanda’s place with my two dogs and my sister. Very clean and super cozy place with easy access to town. Would 10/10 recommend!

    Sarah2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s apartment was fantastic. We had a very spacious lounge and dining area downstairs and upstairs was the bedroom and bathroom. Both rooms had a refrigerator which was handy. We used the small, well equipped kitchen facilities to prepare a couple of breakfasts during our stay which was nice to be able to do after being in the road for 5 weeks. The apartment was very clean and very warm. A strong NorthEasterly storm came through during our visit, and while many others in Camden lost power, we did not and we remained well protected and warm. The location is excellent as it is a 5/10 minute walk to the town centre, so very handy but very quiet at night enabling great sleeps! Thanks for a great stay.

  • We had a wedding at the Samoset minutes down the road. Our stay was conveniently close to the hotel, clean, private, and comfortable!! We had an excellent time and highly recommend Chris as a host, and this lovely home.

    Sandra2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's space is nice and well-kept. He even provides some breakfast supplies to make the morning easier

    Chris2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Chris’s place- the house is beautiful, the bed is comfy, the bathroom is huge, and all of the details are attended to right down to the yummy breakfast goodies and local coffee he provided. He even attempted to make us a fire in the fire pit outside in his beautiful garden — until it rained! We also appreciated all the local tips and took him up on just about all of them. Highly recommended!

  • Chris is a warm and welcoming host, and his place is well situated for visiting the midcoast. It's on a peaceful road, yet close to lots of sites, including Rockland. The space is very clean and quiet, and the beds are comfy. There is a nice sitting area for relaxing.

  • A very clean and quiet suite for travelers looking to be in Rockland but a few steps removed from the bustle of the coast and downtown. Nice kitchen area, clean bathroom, and comfortable bedroom and small living room area. We appreciated the attention to saving resources, recycling, and mindfulness. Dee communicated clearly, went out of her way to find local information, and made us feel safe and welcome. Her sweet suite is highly recommended!

    Laura2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful stay at Dee’s! She was so helpful and responsive when we were booking our reservation. We were so impressed with the space when we arrived. It was so cozy and perfect for what we were looking for. Dee also provided really excellent options for sightseeing and dining in the area. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

    Robin2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our two night stay at Dee’s place. Check-in was easy and Dee did a great job getting us acquainted with the apartment and neighborhood. The location is very convenient, on a quiet residential street just a short walk to the Farnsworth, shops and restaurants. The apartment is very well equipped, with everything you’d need to cook a snack or full meal. The bed is comfortable, and Dee provides toiletries if you forget anything. It’s a cozy space, but didn’t feel cramped for my husband and me. Much better than the usual motels we stay in when in Rockland. We highly recommend Sweet Willow Suite!

    Susan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and comfortable private space. Bedroom had attached kitchen which we didn’t use but was well-appointed. Bed was really comfy. Nice touches throughout. Our hostess, Dee, was pleasant and thoughtful. She asked about our interests, and suggested several attractions/restaurants which we enjoyed. We would definitely stay their again. Parking was in driveway, off of the street.

    Kevin2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to enjoy the town of Rockland! Dee's place is a gem, perfect to come home to after a hike up 1300 feet at Camden State Park, best time at the transportation museum near the airport! And of course, a light house to see! The cottage was spotless, updated, cozy, and the kitchen perfect for our morning coffee. Can't wait to come back!

    Melissa2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovey home away from home! Everything you could need in a quaint private suite. Wish we we staying for a longer period! Amazing amenities, perfect place in town-walking distance to restaurants and great sunrise views-, and a lovely host!

    Margaret2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dee is a super-friendly and thoughtful host, and it shows how much pride she puts in to her charming place! She greeted us in person to describe the amenities, its history (so cool!), and provided us with recommendations of local restaurants and experiences to check out while in Rockland. Sweet Willow Suite is super clean and tidy, comfy and cozy, welcoming and peaceful, with everything you need - the perfect separate space to make you feel like home. The location is ideal, on a quiet street with just a short walk to the heart of Rockland. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer. I would definitely recommend staying here and I would definitely stay here again!

    Tristan2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dee was a wonderful host. The place is spotlessly clean, comfortable, organized, and welcoming! Dee was great and even provided a jump start when I accidentally left the lights on the car overnight. I reckon you’ll be every bit as happy as we were!

  • Truly a unique and special place. Fred was a great host, helpful and respectful! We would definitely stay again.

  • Beautiful apartment connected to their home with plenty of privacy. Convenient location only 5 minutes from downtown Rockland. The hosts were wonderful, we highly recommend staying here and we will be back again!

    Danielle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space.

    Jonathan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The greatness of Airbnb is that it's possible to stay at such terrific apartments for less than a hotel and to also meet interesting and gracious people like Fred & Nud.

    Gary2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Fred’s place as it is close to all the local attractions, easy to find, and yet nicely secluded for a peaceful stay. Fred was an amazing host with tons of knowledge and really amazing hospitality that you just don’t find anywhere. Everything was sparkling clean and beautiful, will definitely be back for another stay!

    Matt2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fred & Nud are such warm and wonderful hosts of a beautiful space, which is even more amazing than the photos. We instantly felt right at home, but also enjoyed luxuries (i.e. all of the beautiful stonework, the amazing walk-in shower) you couldn't normally find at a hotel. We would love to come back again and highly recommend The Granite Chateau to anyone who has a chance to visit.

    Hadley2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • There are many reasons to stay here. The location is prime, close to the beach and down town. The place has a modern Hobbit hole vibe, very beautiful and unique. Fred is also an amazing host, he's very welcoming and offers really great suggestions on things to do or places to eat. He's also one of the kindest people I've met.

    Caroline2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are staying in the Rockland area, you MUST stay at the Granite Chateau! Fred's gorgeous home in Owl's Head is a work of art, and Fred and Nud are the warmest and most accommodating hosts you will ever meet. If you are there in the winter months, even your feet will be toasty from the radiant heating under the floor! We can't recommend this sanctuary enough and look forward to our next visit.

Come skiing in nearby Camden, and enjoy lobster, art, and wine in Coastal Maine. Stroll to Rockland’s restaurants, bakeries, shops, museums, and ferry terminal from this comfortable 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath house. The house has 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, and 1 twin/trundle bed. It is kid-friendly with a large back yard and a fully-equipped kitchen and smart TV, (but no cable and no AC). Hiking and skiing are only 10 miles away in Camden. Bonus mud room has a washer/dryer and extra storage space.
The house is a comfortable gathering spot for families and friends to enjoy their vacations together. The house has been renovated, but is a traditional Maine house with many interesting features, including two front doors and two sets of stairs (although we encourage guests to use the one off of the dining room). There are two parking spots for your cars, and each of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan.
The house is walking distance to Rockland's Main Street which has numerous restaurants and shops, a museum, and art galleries. Rockland is a beautiful quaint seaside town that is becoming a hotbed for foodies and art lovers, but also has the convenience of large stores nearby. I love eating lobster at the restaurants, going on a ferry ride to the nearby islands, and doing yoga or going running in the town. The bakeries and coffee shops are also top notch. Downtown Rockland is home to the Farnsworth Art Museum and galleries. Owl’s Head is four miles away, and has great burgers at its General Store, as well as a famous Transportation Museum. There are also nearby wineries and a beach four miles away at Birch Point State Park.
  • We stayed at Melanie’s house while Visiting family in Rockland for thanksgiving. The home was very clean, and location was perfect. We ended up hosting Thanksgiving dinner last minute, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a fabulous feast. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. Thank you Melanie

  • My husband, two kids, and I stayed at Melanie's for five nights. The house is charming. It was clean, stylishly furnished, and stocked with all the basics we needed. The house even contained a few toys and puzzles for the kids. There was parking for two cars - one in front, one in back. Then neighborhood was safe, quiet, and conveniently located. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

  • Cathy's place is very beautifully furnished and decorated. It's one of the most beautiful rentals we've stayed at! It's very close to the shore and places to see in rockport. It's a good location for a day trip to Bar Harbor. The area is great for checking out a few lighthouses as well. One thing to note is that the room with twin beds has a step down to access it and the room is slanted (old homes have quirks) making it not well suited for older ones with limited mobility. My wife & I had to opt for this room & give my mom & her friend the room with the full size bed. We however, loved our stay at this apartment & would stay again.

    Phillip2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect the house to be in a nice area, in a great location to food and sites, and close to town. The hosts are terrific and give great suggestions on what to do and where to go!

    Beth2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy's is charming, cozy, and comfortable. It's an absolutely wonderful place to stay. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed returning each night after exploring the area.

Our two room suite has a private entrance with the living and bedroom separated by French doors. It offers a comfortable queen bed, a sofa, and a full bath adjacent to the suite. A well located home base for your mid-coast adventure. Whether you are traveling here to see our many lighthouses, visit our well known museums, appreciate Maine coastal arts, kayak, hike, or mountain bike, or just plain eat lobster, it is all close.
Located at the end of the house with its own entrance, livingroom and bathroom, this accommodation has a peaceful and private feel. Surrounded by windows on 3 sides, it is very bright with a relaxing view of an open spruce forest. It is about a 1 minute walk to the village waterfront. There you can enjoy a dockside seafood meal at Luke’s Lobster, a bakery, a German/seafood restaurant, grocery store with gas and deli, and more. You may choose to relax in your suite where there are many books, games, and puzzles for use. Free wifi is provided as well as the use of a Roku TV with a chromecast (you can mirror your enabled devices or watch Roku channels already downloaded to the tv). The full bathroom includes a tub/shower, sink, and toilet for your use. This private bathroom, next to the suite, is for guest use only. There is a Keurig coffee maker and a mini fridge in your living room.
It is about a 1 minute walk to the Tenants Harbor waterfront. There you can enjoy a dockside seafood meal at Luke’s Lobster, a bakery, a German/seafood restaurant, grocery store with gas and deli, and more. The town landing is also here where you can launch your kayak or hang out and watch the lobster and fishing boats depart, arrive, and bring in their catch. The view here is wonderful!

With great intention, Vivian has created a very inviting and comfortable environment for her guests. It is very private and the the setup perfect in every way. My husband and I appreciated all the suggestions re: travel tips given to us by Vivian and Rick which enhanced our time in Maine. Lucky us to have found this stellar Airbnb!

We were very impressed by the cleanliness and attention to every detail a guest could want, including a variety of snacks, home baked goods, and a variety of beverages. Vivian’s hospitality, knowledge of the area and willingness to share information made us feel so welcome. The location is peaceful, quiet and so relaxing. We definitely look forward to a return visit.

Tucked into a mountain side in 40 acres of woods, this cozy one bedroom offers magnificent views of Penobscot Bay and quiet privacy. Minutes away from Camden/Rockport. Perfect for a romantic getaway, personal retreat, or home base for fun in Maine!
The apartment has its own entrance, full bath with tub, queen sized bed, fully equipped kitchen. It is for two people; sorry, additional guests cannot be accommodated comfortably. Also it is not child proofed and is best for adults only. NOTE: There is NO TV.
Minutes away from downtown Camden/Rockland, this space offers quiet and wildlife - the best of both worlds. Midcoast Maine is a wonderful community of great restaurants, museums, local farms, lighthouses, lobsters and freshly caught seafood, and everything that makes Maine special. Our backyard is Penobscot Bay, local parks for hiking, lakes for swimming and small boats. There is an amazing craft and music community here. You can rent bikes/canoes/kayaks/paddleboards locally, and take day trips [or longer] on local schooners. So many things to do and see!
  • Couldn't ask for more. Very clean and private. The views are spectacular. Penelope was a great host. Fun of local info and great tips. We WILL go back

    Denise2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Penelope's place was a dream! The location is amazing with outstanding views. It's quiet and the perfect place to unwind and relax and rest. We will be back!

  • Penelope truly was a "superhost", and we loved staying at her beautiful retreat near the Maine coast. A 10-15 minute drive to the center of Camden, it was convenient enough for dining, hiking, shopping and sight-seeing. The view from the very private, very quiet apartment above her garage is spectacular, and the yard is beautifully landscaped. Inside was spotless and spacious, yet cozy and warm. A place we would HIGHLY recommend and definitely return to.

  • Lovely view and garden.

  • A very quiet apartment with a view of the ocean at some distance over the hills. A luxuriously equiped, spacious apartment with all the amenities one could need.

    Klaas2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to enjoy all the Rockport Maine area has to offer and then slip away to a quiet oasis to relax, this is the place for you. Penelope has a beautiful garden and the sunrise view from your large window is amazing. She is very friendly and welcomed us in person, showing us around, explaining all we would need to know. She also has good materials and tips for things to do and restaurants as well. You will love this comfortable place!

You can't get any closer to the coast of Maine. The cottage perches on a dock next to a small cove. Low tide beach, high tide swimming area, and lapping waves on a near by ledge make this get away a perfect retreat for one or two guests.
The cottage provides everything you need for a comfortable stay: New mattress and bedding, comfortable chairs for relaxing and dining, a kitchenette for light meals, and deck furniture to enjoy outdoor living. Wrap around windows provide views of the cove and access to summer breezes. A heater keeps the cabin toasty on cooler days.
We are located in a neighborhood of year round homes and summer houses. The nearby (.5 miles) Audubon property offers walking trails. Damariscotta and Round Pond, 15 minutes away, have many restaurants and shops, and galleries. A half hour drive will bring you to Camden and Rockland where you have more access to restaurants and museums. The Midcoast is a beautiful area of Maine that appeals to people who want to view the scenery of the rocky coast while they also enjoy the uniqueness of each village.
  • Sharon and Dick were expert hosts. The "Little Heaven" description of this location is an understatement. It was absolutely perfect. My soul, my body, my mind, were completely at rest in this place. I can't describe how beautiful it is: waking up to a calm inlet at low tide, sleeping to the sound of the waves lapping inward as high tide was rising, the fishermen headed out to sea in the morning, the leaves across the bay having changed looking like a palette of earth tones. It was heavenly, indeed.

    Todd2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely stunning spot- perfect for relaxing, and also perfectly positioned to adventure out and explore beautiful Maine. Sharon and Dick are perfect hosts, and their warm, welcoming personalities are evident. My husband and I listened to the tides come in and out, heard the loon singing, owl calls- Perfection really, for anyone that likes being in tune with nature.

    Caitlin2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This space is small and cozy, right on the water where you can experience the changing tides and bird watch throughout the day (we especially loved watching the cormorants fish!). Location is great, and Sharon & Dick are super responsive and welcoming hosts. Excellent experience!

    Nikki2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in a beautiful setting! Hard to beat the location - directly on the water - lovely to be able to watch the tide come and go on the rocky shore. The cottage is small but masterfully set-up to take advantage of the space. There are two comfortable armchairs in the windows for watching the tides and the sunset, and a deck with more chairs and tables outside. The kitchen was so meticulously set-up that I sent my son, who is a fan of "tiny houses," a few photos of the layout of dishes, cookware etc inside the cabinets - he was impressed. We had no difficulty cooking a range of nice meals despite the small space. We hope to have a chance to stay in this wonderful place again sometime soon.

    Piper2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Words truly cannot describe this little place. My husband and I eloped from Iowa, and got married right there on the boat dock, and spend a week relaxing, seeing the local sites, eating lobster and oysters, and watching the trees start to turn colors. Our first time in Maine was unbelievable, and would not have been the same had we stayed somewhere else. We loved the winding, wooded roads, and just wish we had our motorcycle! This little cottage was perfect for the two of us. Well equipped with everything we needed. We loved cooking live lobsters, grilling steaks and burgers, and eating on the deck. Dick & Sharron are wonderful!! Always friendly when we saw them around the property, and we still felt secluded and in our own private space. We look forward to returning to Little Heaven again someday!! Best vacation of our lives!

    Sarah2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space and hosts. Waking up on the water was truly inspiring.

    Jay2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing little spot on the water. Sharon and Dick were so helpful, but not intrusive. Life does not get much better than sitting on the deck, eating lobster and watching the seals.

    Cathryn2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is truly an unforgettable slice of heaven. We had the best time staying here and felt right at home. The cottage itself was adorable, very clean and well organized, allowing us to make dinners and breakfasts everyday, as well as grill on the porch. We enjoyed nearby hiking and sightseeing, beautiful sunsets and blissful mornings. We loved how quiet the location was and its tranquility, with unique birds and a fresh ocean smell morning and night. Sharon and Dick were very welcoming and accommodating, and we felt very comfortable lounging on the porch and sitting on the dock off their property. All we can say is thank you so much for an unforgettable experience and we definitely plan to return! This place is Maine’s best kept secret, in my opinion ;)

  • The place was amazing to stay at! Quiet but not secluded. Warm and comfortable. Easy to get to and to get around to other places. Nicole and Scott are amazing too- quick with replies and communicative, they were thoughtful of me staying there and asked questions. Thank you for such a wonderful stay- I got more done than I thought I would! Thank you!

    Manu2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great little house, very clean, spacious, great price. Everything positive about this place that I read in other reviews is just what my wife and I experienced over our two-day stay. The only negative is one that has been mentioned elsewhere: if there are guests upstairs, you will hear them a lot. Every footstep, snippets of conversation, etc. Scott and Nicole, I would like to suggest that you invest in some thick rugs for upstairs. That could minimize the sound enough to make it unobtrusive. Of course everyone upstairs was very well behaved while we were there, so it wasn't really a problem. In fact, the unintentional ceiling noise was the only drawback. Scott and Nicole made the place feel very homey and clearly have the interest of their guests in mind. Lots of little things, like butter, foodstuffs, nice artwork, a hammock in back, make their place very nice. I look forward to staying here again if we come back to Rockland. Thanks for having us!

Make this cozy, contemporary studio apartment your home-away-from-home. Located just two blocks from downtown Camden, it's a five minute walk to downtown in one direction, or to one of the many trailheads in Camden Hills State Park in the other. In any season, our central location gives you access to the best of the Midcoast.
This studio apartment is a great get-away for an individual or couple visiting our area for vacation, work or both. The gas fireplace goes on with the push of a button, and a Rinnai propane heater efficiently heats the space in winter. In addition to the queen-sized bed, the couch converts futon-style to an additional sleeping area, perhaps for a younger member of your family. We lived in this apartment for ten months while renovating our home downstairs, and now welcome you to share all that Camden and Midcoast Maine have to offer.
We are lucky to live on one of the best streets in Camden, and it's almost like a best-kept secret. Tucked between the two main roads coming into Camden from inland towns, our street is just two blocks long, and meets up with Coastal Route 1 directly across from the Camden Public Library and Harbor Park. It's about an 8-minute walk (just past the harbor park) to our favorite breakfast & lunch spot, Boynton-McKay - the chef-owner is a friend, and he used to cook at world-renowned Primo Restaurant in Rockland. Camden is known as the town where the mountains meet the sea, and indeed, when the leaves drop in the fall, we have a beautiful view of Mount Battie and the Camden Hills beyond our backyard. The hiking trails in Camden Hills State Park, and our favorite place to swim, boat & paddle board - Megunticook Lake - are as close as a five-minute drive or short bike ride. If you want to downhill ski or get to the annual National Toboggan Championships, the Camden Snowbowl is less than a 10-minute drive. There are also lots of places nearby for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. We feel really lucky to have landed in such a great neighborhood with so many of our favorite places so close by.
  • We had a great stay! The apartment was great and very complete. One of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve had so far.

  • Fantastic location, perfect amenities, private and quiet yet just 2 blocks from downtown. Very nice touches throughout the space. Perfect.

    Catherine2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • if you want to hike up Mt. Battie, it is exactly 1 mile from the house to the top. downtown Camden is about 1/2 mile. the space is as described and very comfortable. we loved the location.

    Steve2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jason & Sarah's place is ideally located to walking into and around town - which we typically did a few times a day. It also ideally located in mid-coast Maine; making Belfast, Rockland, and Rockport fairly quick drives. Camden can't be beat for it's natural New England harbor-side beauty.

    John2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy place, walking distance to everything including the main street and hiking trails! Perfect little spot to stay in Camden! Would stay there again!!

    Kristin2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sending you a big hug since I had to leave before saying goodbye personally. Your Camden pied-a-terre was the perfect location, comfortable, super clean, great light, well stocked, and charming. I was wishing my workshop hadn't kept me so busy so I could spend a little more time just relaxing in the apartment. Terrific meeting Sarah & Jason -- such lovely people. Great neighborhood, it was very peaceful and private. Hope our paths cross again soon. Thanks!
