"My" stay (we were a group of 6) with Quaide was the first time I have used Airb&b so I was not quite sure what to expect Quaide's house can only be described as amazing, from the outside it looks like a medium sized chalet bungalow but when we went inside the house went on and on it is a big house!! The bedrooms (I rented all three) each had a large king sized double bed, a double wardrobe, bedside tables and at least one chair, there was enough space in each room to have another single bed and there would still be space to spare. The bathroom (no bath, large shower) was amazing, underfloor heating in the shower, a large heated towel rail and lots of space. The main room is huge, there is a sofa at one end dining table at the other with a kitchen to one side, there was no TV when we stayed but that made the holiday more enjoyable as we were able to play "family" games to pass the time Quaide's house is in a small quiet village and is close to the local train station. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday in the mountains with walks through the forests and along the river to see the waterfall then Quaide's house is for you, BUT, if you are looking for a lively place with nightclubs and bars then you need to look elsewhere, having said that Köln is only an hour away by train and Bonn is around 45 minutes away so if you want quiet days and don't mind a train ride to the night life then Quaide's house could be the ideal place for you It would be difficult for me to describe Quaide as a host, within minutes of meeting Quaide he made us feel more like part of his family than paying guests. Quaide is a very helpful attentive host, nothing was too much trouble, he was more than happy to ring shops and attractions to check they were open (we stayed over Christmas and New Year) so opening times were not normal I would highly recommend Quaide's house as a place to stay, I am hoping to stay with Quaide again in 2016

The host was perfect, very caring, friendly and helpful. He even made us welcome cocktails, which was super nice. The house was really lovely and clean. Five minutes from the house there is the longest waterfall in Europe, a nice place to go and relax. We loved our stay and would gladly come again!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Quaide this time as he had to go away, however he did arrange for a neighbour to give us a key, and arranged for friends to provide us with breakfast. He also provided a number with which we could contact him and kept us informed the whole time despite not being present.

We very much enjoyed Quaides house, hospitality and companionship. The house is equipped with all conveniences, including a very modern fully equipped kitchen, spacious and neat bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom with lovely shower. Behind the house you can enjoy the garden from the 'roof'. Quaide is a welcoming host that you like the way through the area.

Me and my family had a wonderful time at Quaide's place. The region is wonderful for hiking, which we did every day. Plenty of trails around and you can start walking right away, no drive in the car needed. We were sorry that we didn't meet Quaide, but the house was very clean and spacious and the neighbour was helpful. We definitely consider coming back some day!

Wir waren zu viert (4 Jungs) über das Wochende an der Sieg zum Wandern. Die Ferienwohnung liegt direkt am Siegsteig, von den verschiedenen Bahnhöfen (Dattenfeld und Schladern) allerdings gut zwei Kilometer zu Fuss entfernt. Mit dem Bus kann man die Unterkunft gut erreichen, Auto ist aber etwas komfortabler. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr gut, wie auf den Fotos eingerichtet. Wir haben nicht viel gebraucht, es war aber alles vorhanden - inklusiver kleiner Aufmerksamkeiten. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und haben uns sehr hilfreich mit Tipps versorgt. Darüberhinaus gibt es auch verschiedenes Kartenmaterial und andere zusammengestellte Informationen - sehr gut. Rundum, das Wochenende war erstklassig - und die Wohnung einfach passend für uns.

Me and my colleagues stayed at Jurgens place for an expo in Koln. The place is spacious and has completely everything you need - two bathrooms (although only one shower), great living area and comfortable beds. Everything was clean. Jurgen was very responsive and helpful. He also shared some tips and tricks about where is shop, restaurant etc. Highly suggested place and it's not that far from Koln and is located in lovely small village. Hours drive and you are away from city and can enjoy the evening with friends.

A nice house in a small village. We were with a group of golfers and have played various jobs which are all a 40-minute drive away layers. Therefore it is a nice base. The shop and bakery are nearby. There is ample parking The house is fully equipped, but not really for 10 people. There are two bathrooms, but has only one shower. More suitable for 6 or 8 persons. The owner is very friendly and has several suggestions for trips and restaurants in the area. On a glitch with a bed was neatly and reacted in the correct manner. Positive was that there was WiFi, which was not specified. Towels were 1 per person, but the machine is enough. Just pay attention to bring your own duvet covers. All in all a good base to explore the area.

We had a wonderful weekend in the House by Jürgen in Windeck. As Cologne we are easily reached by car in 50 minutes to the beautiful old house. Most of the time we spent in the garden and it was really easy, because a net and Rewe are attained on foot and the house fully equipped. Jürgen gave us nice tips for the area and was very friendly and generous. We love coming back!

Wir haben in dem Ferienhaus Silvester gefeiert ! Das Haus entspricht den Fotos und war wirklich sehr sauber ! Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt ! Der Gastgeber hat uns sogar extra einen Grill zur Verfügung gestellt den wir nutzen konnten .

Andrea and her son were very welcoming. Easy parking right outside. The house was in a nice quiet street, only 15mins walk to the shops. We only stayed 1 night as we were passing through but it had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and private. Once you go through the front door, stairs lead up to Andrea's door and then continue up to the flat, so you are free to come and go without disturbing the hosts but can knock if you have any problems. There is also a sauna in the flat which we would have used if staying longer! We couldn't connect to the wifi but as we were only there for a night it didn't bother us, I'm sure Andrea would have sorted it out if we had asked. It was a little chilly when we arrived but the radiators were so efficient once turned up that it warmed up really quickly and was perfect when getting up in the morning. Thank you for a pleasant stop over!

Lovely clean, modern apartment in super, countryside location. Peaceful and beautiful area. The apartment was a good size - full kitchen with views of countryside. Everything we needed was in there - tea-towels, washing-up liquid, cloths, etc. Bathroom had lovely towels. Great big bed with very comfortable mattress and pillows. Good size sofa in lounge. Andrea & Michael were very welcoming :-)

Andrea was very friendly and welcomed me nicely. The apartment is well maintained and much nicer than the pictures. The area is nice to go for a walk and supermarkets are also within easy reach.

My girlfriend and I had a great time in this lovely house, which is spacious, and contained all the things we needed to be more than comfortable. The area in and around Windeck is beautiful and we were delighted to be able to use the owners' bicycles for a little stroll here and there. Highly recommended!

Cute, friendly welcome. Good Directions for the visitors. In just 15 minutes walk from Geilhausen station to reach. Everything was as described, all the essentials present. I was only one night before an exam attend and therefore nothing.

Very good time spent there. Nadine and her companion were so friendly and helpful, always asking if I missed something or if I needed something more. They offered to pick me up at the station when I arrived and escorted me to my departure. I could use the bikes to go to the station, only 8 minutes by bike, which was very convenient to go to Cologne when I wanted.

Nadine was super helpful and accommodating. Her place is a little away from the local train station (about 2 kms minimum) so her mom came all the way to help us. And not just once! She and Chris helped us a couple of times to get back and forth since we were not too acquainted to the area plus didn't speak German (Deutsch) at all. Talking about the place, it is a nice room (setup in the garage) with almost everything you need in place. You have a beautiful patio seating as well where a nice cup of hot coffee / beer can be enjoyed. The bathroom and toilet is private and adjacent in the main house's basement. Since it is the countryside, the neighbourhood is peaceful and quite with an occasional tractor passing by which is kinda nice in my opinion. IT definitely is super safe and the people seemed really friendly - helped us find directions without hesitating! The wifi is a little peculiar to catch and you'll be able to get it in the patio easily - but that's just me nitpicking as I had to work while in the trip too. Would love to stay at their place again!

Beautiful rural location. They were extremely kind and helpful. The surrounding towns are gorgeous, and several castles close by. I drove ten minutes in their electric cart and found a fantastic mountaintop castle to the north. 10/10

The place is separate from the main residence and is cozy and warm. The e-car is great fun and the grill was useful for cooking at home. There were some wifi problems but it didn't bother us too much.

Worthy price / performance ratio

We spent two nights over New Year at the Gingerbread House and had a great time. The house is super nice and very cozy. One feels immediately right at home. The fireplace gives the whole thing a special character. Although it is an old half-timbered house, it has everything you need and is perfectly equipped. John, we have not, unfortunately, able to meet in person, but he was very friendly, helpful and attentive. For anyone who would like to spend a few quiet days and likes to go hiking, the cottage at the victory is ideal.

Our stay at Knusperhaus was very cozy. Particularly gefiehl us that one can so quickly become from the house in the countryside and on the water. The house looks in the pictures is relatively small, and because we wanted to stay with a larger group there, gave us the space to think before. In the end, the house was perfect for our group. It's clean and well equipped. Communication with John was the whole time very nice and uncomplicated. We got plenty of things to do in the vicinity of it, we could not implement because we were best in the house and in the fireplace heat.

Die Wohnung ist ein gefühltes historisches Denkmal und äußerst gemütlich. Einfach, aber gut ausgestattet. Wir fühlten uns wirklich sehr wohl und Willkommen in der Wohnung und haben das Haus bei Regen und die Umgebung bei Sonnenschein genossen. Ich bin klein und fand es ganz kuschelig, aber vllt. noch wichtig für den Riesen unter uns: die Wohnung hat niedrige Decken. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft. Die hin und wieder vorbeifahrende Autos auf der naheliegende Landesstraße, werden tagsüber von Vögelgesang und Nachts von Eulen überspielt.

Over all, I'm new to Airbnb and this was my first trip so it is very nice that Quaide makes you feel right at home from the very first minute. We've stayed for 2 nights/3 days and had an excellent time. The house, rooms and garden are spacious and well maintained and the surrounding area is very beautifull and perfect for hiking. Cologne is just 40 to 60 minutes by train and an absolute must!

This Airbnb is a top tip! Quaide made us very welcome and the accommodation was even better than expected. Ours was a spacious double room with a beautiful bathroom, a desk and the so appreciated high speed internet connection. The area is stunning and Quaide had lots of tips for us. The train station is just a few minutes walk and everything else you need is directly in Schladern or Rosbruch just a few minutes drive away. it was great to come back in the evening and be able to make some tea and have a chat with other guests. If you like to cook, Quaide's kitchen is a dream! From the central station of Cologne it will take about an hour, but it is a very quiet place. The house was like a very beautiful hotel! ! Bed is also very comfortable and toilet was also very clean. Also Quaide Mr. me behaved very gentle cooking, did a fun chat. Also in the morning of departure You very kind, such as us it is happening in spite of the early morning. thank you very much!

Thank you Lilo for your generosity, hospitality, and the wonderfully large, self contained apartment on the ground floor of your house. We use Airbnb a lot, and it is rare to have such a large space to ourselves to relax in. As you know we were so impressed we booked an extra night! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and your husband's information about where to park across the river to see the Cologne Cathedral was spot on. :) If only we had more time to spend in the Rhine Valley, we would have loved to stay longer. Although the area is about half an hour drive to Cologne, the scenery was spectacular. It reminded us of the hills back home in Adelaide. Ich habe eine Nacht in Lilos Apartment übernachtet als ich dort auf Wandertour vorbeikam. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig, ansprechend eingerichtet und der Kontakt war sehr nett. Ich bekam sogar ein Fußbad mit Massagefunktion für meine malträtierten Füße ;-) Wenn ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin, komme ich gerne wieder :-)

Lilo war eine tolle Gastgeberin und wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Das Appartment ist wirklich schön und besitzt alles was man sich nur wünscht. Wir würden wiederkommen!
