  • The house was very nice, clean, and in a perfect location to visit multiple wineries. Unfortunately we did not expect to be sharing half the space with the owner. Our paths never crossed and there was no noise from his side so we were perfectly comfortable.

  • James we a great host. We had to book very last minute because we made a mistake with our initial plans but was very quick and easy to book with him. Place was cute and quiet. Thank you!

    Katie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • James has a very clean place within minutes of Ciccone winery which was why we went up to begin with for a wedding. It was enough space for the two of us for a couple of days and so close to downtown Sutton's Bay.

    Jenni2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s place was clean, had free coffee and water, and was about 15 min away from downtown Traverse. Great value and a great stay!

  • Hard to beat the value and location. Would stay again.

    Bradley2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a great place to stay. It is located around a ton or wineries and in the middle between downtown TC and downtown Sutton’s bay. James is an amazing host. Definitely would stay here again!

Water and wine combine to create the perfect backdrop for a romantic get-a-way , casino weekend , holiday week . Our cozy site tasting room invites you to sample our wines. Enjoy the cozy suites complete with full baths, kitchenettes , beautiful lake views. You will love the comfortable lodging, great location 1-1/2 miles to Suttons Bay and 1 mile to Casino . Open in winter (Bistro and tasting room open Thursday-Sunday ) Suites are ideal for 2 and Loft units sleep 4.
Spacious suites with queen pillow top beds , most units have a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, dishes and coffee pot. Linens and towels included, iron and ironing boards available. On site Wine Tasting Bistro for our very own Vineyard. "French Valley Vineyards.com" We feature great wines and beautiful views. Only 1 .5 miles to Casino and Suttons Bay. Numerous nearby vineyards to explore.
  • I must admit, with my last minute plans I was a little skeptical given some of the previous reviews- but boy, did this place deliver. There's a restaurant on site, offering a free tasting at one of the only wineries in the area on the water. You could people watch from the patio or enjoy the view with the rest of the public. It was quiet with light music playing during the day. We happened to be one of the only people staying in the inn and the tasting rooms shuts down early so the place quiets down in the evening. It was wonderful to have private outdoor space, a clean room, and a private bonfire on the beach at night. I would agree with some of the other reviews that it's certainly not a room service kind of place, or full of amenities, but that's not why you go to northern MI. It's a close drive to the local wineries (Mawby, Willow), golf (Bahle was beautiful) and the nearby towns of Leland, Lake Leelanu and Traverse City. It's about a 6 minute drive to downtown Suttons Bay- the only downside is getting to/from town without a car may be challenging. Connie behind the bar was so incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Sutton's Bay.

  • Cute little place that’s nice and cozy and close to a lot of things. Mary and Rod were very nice and gave some good tips! Little snacks, Keurig coffee, and waters were a nice surprise. Place was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a great time!

    Jess2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our little cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for. We were in town for a family reunion and it was perfect for us to come home to and get cozy after a long day. Had a little heater we’d turn on and it would get warm in no time. Also they had a kuereg with little coffee pods and creamer which was a life saver for me. They had a fire pit and told us we could help our self to wood but unfortunately never had the time. I would have totally loved to have a glass of wine by the fire though. Thanks again for the amazing hospitality & the beautiful cabin. We would love to come back.

  • If I could give Rod and Mary 10 stars, I would. We loved their cozy cottage. They had thought of pretty much everything they could have to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They were very friendly hosts and had a couple great local insider tips. The location is also in between 2 wineries, both of which are less than a 15 minute walk. I would not pass up an opportunity to stay here if you are in the area looking for a relaxing getaway.

    Patrick2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy wineries and need a quiet , quaint place to stay, look no further. We came up for a wedding in Northport, and found this lovely place. 12 minutes from Northport and Sutton’s Bay. We could walk to 2 wineries from our cottage. (45 and Aurora wineries). Very clean and you will need for nothing. Excellent hosts.

  • This upstairs apartment in downtown Sutton's Bay was the perfect location for our long weekend getaway. The apartment was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. If it hadn't have rained most of the weekend, we would have loved to sit on the patio overlooking downtown in the morning.

Friendly victorian upstairs apartment in downtown Traverse City. This space is three blocks from the beach, downtown, and a short distance from the Traverse City Commons. A great spot for two on the town.
Excellent neighborhood. You can walk to all the great restaurants downtown and to the beach. On the edge of the Historic Neighborhood. Wonderful location.
  • If you're looking for something clean, affordable and close to downtown, this is the place for you! I have stayed here twice and will definitely be coming back. Linda is great and did extra cleaning prior to our arrival due to coronavirus concerns. Love this place!

  • Great little apartment and location for a weekend stay in Traverse City. Thank you!

    Stephen2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place was terrific. Plenty of parking, near the downtown, and comfy! I really enjoyed the Netflix option on her tv. I would definitely stay again.

  • Would recommend staying here. Excellent location, walking distance to all the front street shops and a short trip to the commons. Clean and friendly space. Linda was quick with responses and was professional.

  • I know where I am staying if I ever come back to Traverse City! I have so much to rave about but location is probably one of the best parts. In the winter it was a 1-2 minute drive to park downtown and that could be easily walkable in summer months. There are multiple eateries and stores right across from the house so you could easily walk across the street to grab pie, dinner or maybe even some wine. The airbnb is so much cuter than I was expecting, the perfect place for 2 people. The bathroom is beautiful and there is even a nifty heat lamp in there to keep you warm in the winter months. There were so many nice touches like local travel info, a coffee and tea station and even basic bathroom supplies. I had the best stay and I can't wait to come back again!

    Jordan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Location is super convenient for strolling around the downtown region. Easy check in and check out procedures with no curfews made enjoying our time there a breeze! We were fine but for those with mobility trouble, be aware that the stairs up to the second floor are pretty steep.

    Alexandria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, little apartment! Had everything you needed. Location was awesome! Would love to stay at Linda’s again.

  • Great Place. Quiet. Firm but not obnoxiously firm bed. Nice paintings everywhere. Easy to cook in their kitchen. Not a fan of carpet in general but theirs was very clean. If you know and love architecture and are a student of interior decor and design periods, it will be an inspiring experience for you.

    Sara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Kim was very welcoming and hospitable. The location was excellent; it was easy to get to town. In winter, a 4WD/AWD car will be helpful to get up the big, slippery hills to the home. The view from the home is spectacular. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The cats were very friendly, just like the host! We would definitely recommend this location!

  • Had a peaceful getaway!

    Cailey2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The condo was everything we needed it to be. The location is great, don't let the map scare you, it's very easy to get to downtown TC and everything you need. A nice short walk to the beach, even though it was chilly we spent time lounging on the beach chairs. The layout of the condo is compact, and a little weird - the bathroom sink is outside of the bathroom, much like some hotels. It's a small, northern Michigan beach condo. The bed in the bedroom is very firm, I slept fine on it, but if you're sensitive, be warned. Check-in was easy and communication with the host was exactly enough. If I were staying in TC, I would stay there again.

Beautiful one bedroom waterfront condominium located in downtown Suttons Bay MI located in the Barkentine Condominiums. Full kitchen, laundry room, bedroom and living room. Outdoor covered patio area with casual seating and a dinner table. All overlooking the marina and bay. Short walk to public beach and the downtown center with restaurants and shops. Also, one block away from the TART Bicycle Trail to Traverse City and surrounding areas. Meticulously maintained unit. Great place!
Note-Owner has a dog and cat while in residence from time to time so those with pet allergies may not want to rent. The unit is very clean and well kept but pet dander to those with allergies is difficult to remove. Limit of guests to two adults and up to two small children would work.
The public beach with sugar sand and the entire downtown Suttons Bay with shops and restaurants are all within 2 blocks of the location. Tennis courts also located in the center of the downtown area. Marina out front has transient slips available for rent by the night up to a week so great spot to bring and use your boat. Also great spot for paddle boarding and kayaking. Great spot to use as a headquarters for traveling around to the 38 wineries all within 25 miles of the location.Full service grocery store also within walking distance.
  • Lovely location, very comfortable and close to many attractions. It was beyond my expectations.

  • This little gem of a place is a true gentleman residence. Excellent view of Sutton bay. Loved hanging out at Hoplot Brewery. If you have a boat this place would be ideal for launching and sleeping. The host was kind enough to notify me that an early check in is acceptable. Very kind to do so. Awesome patio with heaters. Does have a cat but wasn't a problem at all for this traveler. I highly recommend this place for a maximum of 2 pepps. enjoy!

    Michelle2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this. Ok so, we used to always stay at the West Bay Hotel because it was an IHG hotel and I work for IHG, now that it's owned by Delmar we don't get the discounted rooms. So we do a monthly trip TC for an overnight getaway and this was the first time we didn't stay at the hotel... BUT IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER!!@!!! The beach was AMAZING! So close to town, so private, plenty of parking! It was perfect. My only complaint is the neighbors in the Colonial House whom we shared a fire pit/common space with were a bit rude to us. I'm guessing they weren't expecting us to also want to be outside when it was a lovely summer night. But whatever, they didn't cramp our style. Honestly 10/10 any day of the week. Such a cool place!

My place is close to the beach, restaurants and dining, parks, art and culture, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, the neighborhood, the outdoors space, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The Gristmill was built in 1862 and ground grain into flour. It operated until 1946 and was made into a home in 1948. There is a pond, a waterfall, an island with a gazebo. Yes, the water still passes through the house! We purchased the home in 1998 and fulfilled a childhood dream of mine to own this amazing place where I fished as a child.
We are .4 miles from the Traverse Area Recreation Trail that leads South to Traverse City or North to Sutton's Bay. We are close to everything in a very unique setting. We are a 5 minute walk from the beach. We are next to Harbor West Marina. There are 5 excellent restaurants less than 5 minutes away.

  • This cottage is a little gem. It is in a wonderful location between Traverse City and Suttons Bay with easy access to all area activities/attractions (wineries, sand dunes, biking trails, etc.). My family thoroughly enjoyed the sunrises over the lake, the beach, fire pit and the cottage. Pam was a great host and was easily accessible via phone, email, or in person as she lives right next door. We plan to be back in the future!

  • Pam's place is just as advertised! Beautiful location! Pam and her husband are very accomadating and thoughtful. We enjoyed our week in their cottege!

    Cyndy2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s home is a fantastic place to stay. Great as a home base for all that northern Michigan has to offer, tons of wineries and cider stops near by. Suttons Bay has a couple of cute little restaurants, and was only about 10-15 minutes away from Traverse City for even more options. The house is on a lovely lot with a really nice beach area and yard (wish it would have been warmer for us to enjoy!), it was very clean and tidy, cute decor and very comfortable. Absolutely recommend this waterfront cottage and we hope to be able to come back again when we can enjoy the water & outdoor areas more!

    Jamie2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Magnificent views overlooking west bay. Very peaceful setting despite M-22. The lawn and beach is just beautiful and the cottage is adorable. It is small, but comfortable. The one bathroom is beautifully done. We brought our own beach towels (no laundry on site) and our own shade for the beach, highly recommend to do the same, as the beach is in direct sun all day. Great fire pit!! A wonderful spot to explore both traverse city and Sutton’s Bay. We did not use the upstairs area (accessed from outside of the house) for sleeping, but Pam did install an A/C unit up there so it will be ready for future guests. Pam lives right next door and was nice and helpful with questions! Our family very much enjoyed our stay, was a peaceful retreat! We hope to come back again!

    Lindsey2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location on the bay and near everything.

    Thomas2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful lakefront home. Beautiful old house ( old but newly remodeled), on a stunning lakefront property. Book with confidence!

    Jesse2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay during the first week of October. It is a little less than 20 min down the road from Traverse City, and about 10 min away from downtown Sutton's Bay. We arrived late Friday, so we went straight to bed when we got to the unit. But, when we woke up, we were in awe with the strikingly beautiful beach sunrise view. This view and the beach is surely the highlight of staying here. We hardly spent any time there, as we were out and about most of the weekend. But, it was clean, comfortable, and had a beach with a bonfire. So, no complaints here! We hope to come back over the summer so that we can truly enjoy all this cabin has to offer.

We are following CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting this space as well as the shared entry. We also provide disinfectant for use during your stay. We can also provide a non-contact check-in process if preferred. Captains Quarters is spacious, bright, private, easy and simple. It has a sliver of a view of the bay and an antique nautical theme to match. All of the amenities make for a comfortable, care free stay!
The Hernandez Hideaway Captains Quarters is in our upstairs bedroom. It is themed in some nautical decor, but not over the top. You can see a pinch of the Grand Traverse Bay from the bedroom windows and our home is a short walk to downtown Northport including the park and marina, restaurants, a gas station, and shops. It’s a short drive up to the Lighthouse and Leelanau State Park, to beaches, the Antique Apple Farm, and more! Leland and Sutton’s Bay are both about a 15 minute drive south. The Captains Quarters has its own bathroom with a tile shower (no bath), queen sized bed, and is stocked with a few DVDs and books, a deck of cards, coffee, tea, a mini fridge a microwave, and a few small dishes. We also provide a fan (as well as ceiling fan), a space heater, and blow dryer. An iron and ironing board are available upon request. The guest space is private with a bedroom, separate but private bathroom, and the area at the top of the stairs includes the kitchenette amenities and book shelf. We will be in and out of the area and closet at the bottom of the stairs. There is not a door separating the area at the bottom of the stairs and the area at the top of the stairs. But the space is very private.
Northport is a quaint town close to the Leelanau State Park with hiking trails and the Lighthouse, wedding venues, restaurants, shops, the Northport marina and pavilion/park. There is also a mountain biking trail north of town. Beaches are not far whether for sun bathing or rock picking.
  • Great, spacious, amazingly clean, private spot for a nice gate away. Jessica and Mitch are great hosts.

    Frederick2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a perfect place to stay for the weekend!! I was nervous about staying somewhere where the owners are but we could not even tell anyone else was in the house. Their loft is so cozy and cute with all the amenities you could think of! Directions to there and how to check in and out were so easy to understand and Jessica responded quickly to all my questions. Definitely would highly recommend their hideaway!!

    Taylor2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica and Mitch have a great place in a great location. They are great host and hostess, the perfect blend of privacy while still being nearby to talk or answer any questions. Their dog, Bear, very inquisitive and friendly too. The room was more like a small apartment, Lots of space, bright and cheerful. We were able to look out of the window and see the bay as well as lots of trees and color. Their place is within a short driving distance of the entire peninsula so there are plenty of things to do. We were there for 2 nights but could easily have spent more time and not be cramped. We visited at the end of October and it was a phenomenal fall weekend on the Leelanau peninsula. The air was crisp, the sun was out and the colors were on full display. We will remember Jessica and Mitch when we visit the area again!

    Dan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying there. The location was exactly where we wanted to be. Mitch and Jessica were great. Very comfortable stay, thanks!

    Julie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a beautiful location, clean and fun space, and it was just an outstanding place to stay for a get away!

    Jake2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time using Air bnb. We were a bit nervous, but everything was perfect. We had great food at The Garage for dinner. And I absolutely love their dog!

    Stacey2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice private loft space. Personal coffee maker was nice to have. Private bath was nicely done. Convenient location for zipping around Leelanau.

Cute “tiny cabin” in Traverse City MI. There is NO RUNNING WATER OR ELECTRICITY. Please come prepared as if you are going camping. There is a “portajohn” as a bathroom, and NO WATER SOURCE. This is a truly unique experience to disconnect from your phones and TV and all of the other noise of life. The cabin is truly serene and peaceful, amongst a quiet and authentic “up-north” neighborhood. Downtown Traverse is 15 minutes to the east and Sleeping Bear is about 35 minutes directly west.
The full property is yours for the duration of your stay - park on premise, use the back patio, fire pit, grill, folding chairs, etc. Please note: there are no sheets or bedding provided in the cabin. You are required to bring your own bedding (just as if you were camping). You must bring your own bedding (sheets, pillow cases and/or sleeping bags. Please realize this is a cabin, but more like camping. Be prepared for hot / or cold conditions depending on the time of year. There is a mattress with a mattress cover and two pillows with case protectors in the loft. Again, you will need to bring your own sheets/blankets if you plan to use the bed :) YOU MUST BRING PILLOW CASES (2) AND SLEEPING BAGS OR A FULL-SIZE SHEET if you want it to sleep on the bed in the loft. Please follow this requirement. There is a waterproof hypoallergenic bed cover and pillow covers to keep the space clean. Please think of others while using this cabin. It is meant to be self sustaining and requires guests to participate in the upkeep of the cabin.
Wineries, breweries, and restaurants are all close by (within 15 minutes drive). Try the beloved “Moomers” ice cream and dairy store just down the street. Quiet “country” neighborhood. You’re going to experience the real “up-north”. It’s secluded and quiet, but very close to everything traverse city and northwest Michigan has to offer.
  • Perfect place to unwind in this hectic time. Everything was as stated. Very clean and such a neat experience!

    Walter2020-04-24T00:00:00Z

    Kevin2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for our family of 4 to stay while in TC (my girls, ages 5 & 6, loved “camping out” on the sofa bed). We went off season so some of the best parts of the condo’s location were either closed (Fin’s sand bar) or the weather didn’t cooperate (too cold / rainy for lake and beach access) - but we’d come back again and hope for better luck on the weather. Barry was very quick to respond and offered some good local pointers that we took advantage of while visiting.

    Scott2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as expected. Great location and reasonable price. We were there for a soccer tournament and didn't have time to enjoy the beach, but would definitely come back to relax.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore was voted the most beautiful place in the world. This description could not be more accurate. You will feel as if you have entered your own private Caribbean beach with amazing shops, food and hikes. * New to this home is a pet cat, Guinevere. She weighs 6 pounds and is a short hair. She does not shed a lot, however if you do not like cats or have allergies, you may want to seek out different accommodations.
I am renting the lower portion of my house out. There is a cat named Guinevere who will come visit you downstairs, so if you are not a cat-person, this may not be a good fit for you. We have two ducks named Lily and Fern out back that lay fresh eggs daily. We can never keep up with eating them all so I hope you can help us out! The home was built 6 years ago and is gorgeous. Wood Floors, big open windows, and it is located in the quaint town of Suttons Bay Michigan. Suttons Bay is right on the beautiful white sandy beaches of Lake Michigan located just outside the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. My home is 1 1/2 blocks from the downtown area and beaches and 3 blocks from the grocery store. The TART trail is two blocks away and is a gorgeous bike trail that is 15 miles long and takes you into Traverse City. Come stay in my home. You wont regret it. You will have your own privacy downstairs with your own mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave. If you feel like cooking a larger meal you are more than welcome to use our kitchen or grill. However, I have a feeling you will want to use the bonfire pit, roast marshmallows, go for a night hike, hit up the many vineyards and wineries, cherry orchards, brew pubs, and natural wonders. I can help design your trip for you as well. I know of tons of hiking trails and private beaches. Look forward to hearing from you soon!
Suttons Bay and all of the Leelanau County villages are quaint little beach communities. There are incredible restaurants, gorgeous white sandy beaches that stretch for miles and miles, hiking and biking trails, wineries, breweries, farms and fun for all ages. Once I moved here I never left. It is paradise.
  • Jenny's home is a great place to stay for anyone looking to be in the Traverse area. Cute, comfortable, great location to everything, just steps to downtown Sutton's Bay.

  • Jenny's place was beyond wonderful. We had such a great time. It's close to the downtown area so we walked there to shop and eat. It's also close to the trail which we used to bike to Traverse City. We'd never stayed in Michigan before, but by following Jenny's advice on what to do, we hiked dunes and parks, visited several beaches, towns, and lighthouses. Jenny and Tim are wonderful hosts and the living space is spotlessly clean. It's decorated very nicely and is accented by paintings that Jenny created which were awesome. We were there for a week and loved every minute of it. We loved meeting their ducks and Guinevere the cat. There was so much beauty everywhere and the towns all around there are charming. We thank Jenny for giving us lifelong happy memories.

    Carol2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny’s place was the perfect place to be for exploring the Leelanau Peninsula! We were no more than 30 minutes from all of the towns we visited. Jenny and Tim were great conversationalists and we really enjoyed our bonfire with them. The kitty and the ducks are so cute and friendly, we definitely felt like family and the week trip was just amazing.

One of the best views on Leelanau Peninsula. Unique property 5 minutes from SB and 10 minutes from TC. Conveniently located 1 mile from the TART Bike Trail and within 4 miles of 6 wineries. The interior was newly renovated in 2019. The Mezzanine has 2 queen beds and we also have a queen & twin inflatable bed if you require more sleeping space.
Suttons Bay is charming, many boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops. We also have two beaches nearby plus Lake Leelanau and the beaches in Traverse City. Boat, SUP, Kayak, Canoe Rentals are all available. Plus a public boat access is 1.5 miles down the street. The list is endless, please ask, we will find the activity, Michigan is rich in adventure!
  • We have travelled quite a bit and always prefer to stay in airbnbs. This was truly the best we have experienced! Everything felt deluxe and luxurious, especially the sheets and bedding! I am a clean freak and the dome home was spotless! Such a joy to live, eat and sleep in such a perfect space for a week. The hosts, Jill and Terry, were so thoughtful and kind to us. They surprised my daughter with an Easter basket, they gave great advice on wineries and restaurants, and provided s’mores and coffee. Terry was always happy to build us a fire at night and Jill offered us the use of their own bikes to use! We will be back again to experience all of the activities this beautiful area has to offer.

  • Photos can’t do the beauty of Sutton’s Bays justice and they can’t begin to capture the atmosphere you get inside this home. Living in the dome is an amazing experience and being hosted by Jill, Terry and their menacingly cute canine, Godzilla was a real treat. If you’re looking to stay in style, don’t think twice!

  • The dome house is immaculately clean and has all the comforts of home. You could cook or bake anything you’d like in the kitchen. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a couple throw blankets for relaxing by the fireplace (make sure you turn it off before bed or the dome will be hot!) You have a view of the ENTIRE bay and there is plenty of room for relaxation on the patio. Terry and Jill were incredibly kind and came down to show us how to use everything. The whole dome is covered in windows so it is not very private, but perfect for a platonic getaway :). We would definitely recommend.
