  • Staying at Lu’s is like going away to your favorite family members home far away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. Absolutely loved the stay there and the view of the river was fantastic. A very warm and welcoming cabin!

  • Lu's cabin is as authentic as they come! Warm, cozy, woodsy, and with the a river in the back yard! It's just gorgeous! I sheepishly shared with Lu that we were celebrating a monumental birthday for me at her place, and she surprised me with roses and triple-layer gourmet brownies! What a G.F.! 7 adults were very comfortable in the cabin. You'll want for nothing as the home because it is FULLY equipped! We made memories; thanks, Lu!

  • This cabin was one of the best cabins we have ever stayed in. We loved it!!!! So homey and comfy and beautiful. Lu and her family have it set up so nice. They have everything there that you can think of. We even played a few of their games that they had there . Our family enjoyed our time there! So if you are thinking about staying there you definitely will love it like we did. The welcome card and brownies were a nice touch. Lu answered any questions we had and went way above expectations. She is definitely a super host!!!!! Michael, Chris and Chelsea

  • This was our first time trying out an airbnb. WOW! We were so impressed. The minute we walked into the cabin it felt like we were walking into one of our own family members cabin. The cabin was so clean and decorated perfectly. The kitchen was fully stocked with all appliances and cooking ware that you would need. There were games and crafts available also. All of our guests with us commented on how nice the beds and bedding were. The bathroom provided any essentials you could possibly need. I feel like Lu set the standard high for our future airbnb stays - no wonder they have a Superhost rating. The outdoor temperature was around the 30's during our stay. The cabin heated up well. Some of us even had a small bonfire by the river while the rest of us stayed inside. The view of the river is fantastic. We really hope to be able to visit during the summer months. The exiting rules were pretty simple - clean up the kitchen, sweep, put trash in cans out front, clean up after pets if you brought any, place towels in laundry area. Nothing to hard or out of the ordinary. We knew going in that this was a pet friendly place. Although we did not bring our four legged companions, you wouldn't have even known that pets had been there. No smells and no pet hair. Lu was very kind to us - there were delicious brownies in the kitchen for us. She made sure we felt comfortable, checking in via airbnb communication, during our stay even offering us a little extra time if we needed at check out. She made sure to provide a few alternate phone numbers of people we could contact if we needed any assistance. We loved our weekend stay and really hope to visit again soon!

  • Great cabin with everything you could want on site, plus centrally located to be a home base for exploring the National Forest and State Parks of the Oil Region. It has a newer furnace that provided nice even heat throughout even on cold October nights. Lu was a great host and we'd definitely stay there again.

    Brian2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome authentic log cabin right on the Allegheny River. Lu, was an amazing host. Super communicative on all aspects. I didn’t know what a super host was, and now I do. Stay here, you’ll love it!

    Chris2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lu's home was fantastic for our weekend getaway! The cabin is situated on the Allegheny River, with beautiful mountain views, perfect for relaxing down by the firepit or kayaking for the adventurous type (the cabin had 4 kayaks and 2 canoes, plus various floats). The kitchen was stocked with all sorts of amenities. And the cabin had a wonderful "at home" feel to it. But what really made the difference to us was Lu and her family. They were some of the best people I have ever communicated with on AirBnB! Ryan (her son-in-law) was an awesome guy and brought us extra firewood twice during our stay! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic cabin weekend!!

  • This place is a very relaxing retreat. My family enjoyed fishing, tubing, kayaking, the fire pit, and just watching time go by. The cabin is adorable and spacious. Lots of amenities and things you may have forgotten to bring. I would definitely stay again!

  • Beautiful and secluded. I've been staying in cabins in NW PA for many years, and this is easily the nicest one I've rented

    Justin2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was spacious, comfortable and offered everything we needed. We spent most of the time outdoors and really enjoyed the outside fire pit, the privacy and our dog enjoyed the creek next to the cabin. This is a great spot to launch your Allegheny National Forest adventure, close to fishing, hiking trails and points of interest.

  • Nicer than advertised! Had a great stay, would love to return.

    Brandon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful location and cabin! We stayed in Feb so it was a little chilly but very cozy...exactly what we were looking for. It is rustic but very clean and has everything you need for fun and relaxation. Just enough modern convenience to be really comfortable but still be "unplugged". Can't wait to see it in the summer and fall.

    P. J.2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We used this cabin for a quick weekend winter getaway and it couldn’t have been better. We especially enjoyed exploring through the snowy trees on the trails beside the cabin. The outside of the cabin was beautiful in the snow and the fireplace inside was the perfect cozy way to watch the snow come down. It was also fun to watch the deer meander through the yard. Mel provides everything you need and makes check-in and communicating easy.

    Alyssa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin, beautiful in the winter. Check in was very easy and Mel was very quick to respond to any questions.

    Ezra2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Place is absolutely beautiful. This is the place to go for rest and relaxation.

    Yassiris2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax and unwind! Mel is very helpful with the directions, as Google Maps sends you to the wrong place. There is no WIFI or service, as the listing says, so be ready to become one with nature! Definitely recommend AWD for the winter, the road was coated in snow and ice leading up to the lodge. Thanks, White Pine Lodge for an awesome and relaxing trip!

Shady Pines Cottage is just off of Route 36 in Tionesta Township. The minute you make the turn from Route 36, you immediately enter an old country lane with stone and gravel. The lane is a beautiful cul-de-sac with trees of every kind, and only a dozen properties or so that are spaced far apart from one another. Shady Pines Cottage is one of only a few properties available year round. The cottage is quiet and private. Folks never bother you. Sometimes they wave hello from the lane but don't always see you because the porch sits so far back from the lane. Chances are you will enjoy the amazing front porch more than you realize. Deer, turkey, and a fox all come through the front of the property on a regular basis. There are numerous turkey early every morning. Enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the porch swing while watching squirrels and chipmunks run back and forth between the trees. There are incredibly beautiful birds of all species throughout the trees on the property, and the large pine trees surround you in the front, so the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks all come pretty close to the porch. There's nothing quite like watching the sun come up in the morning through our trees and beautiful flower gardens out front. Although the front of the property is very large and sits back a nice distance from the lane, the side and backyards are enormous. Behind the backyard are woods with a private pathway and walking trail. A very generous and well-proportioned 2 acres! Whenever family and friends come to visit, they enjoy the property so much that no one ever wants to leave to visit other places in the area. The property is truly beautiful year round in every season.
  • Very cozy, and the decor is truly one of a kind! The view is beautiful in the morning after a night of snow. So serene. They had anything we needed and then some! Thank you so much again!

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This home is so comfortable and cosy. It has everything you could need. We felt so relaxed, and went on some beautiful hikes in the forest. I’m hoping we can visit again for a beautiful get-away and retreat.

    Lily2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! Immediately upon opening the door there was wine and chocolates there to welcome us to Ted’s home. It was sparkling clean and they provide everything you need including pots and pans , towels, bed linens, dishes, and silverware. This was my first time booking through Airbnb and this certainly set the bar high for any future bookings. Likely will return to this little slice of paradise.

    Olivia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage! Kept us nice and warm in the middle of winter.

    Mairead2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is everything we hoped for and more. It truly feels like a home away from home. My girlfriend and I decided just a few days before Christmas to spend the holiday here. It was decorated to perfection, and Ted even left us a christmas card, wine, and some sweets. Perfect for me, as I love wine and sweets. The home comes with a fully equipped kitchen. I mean FULLY. It has EVERYTHING. We prepared christmas and christmas eve feasts, it was amazing. The homey touches and decorations really make this place. The board games, the books, the dvds. We took full advantage of all of these leisure activities. We wanted to get away and clear our heads and relax... and I can honestly say... I never had such a great time doing nothing!

    Jon2019-12-26T00:00:00Z

The bed was very comfortable and we spent most of our time by the fireplace. The cottage is private and wooded, yet close to the main road. We were very thankful that they had k-cups waiting for us as we forgot our own. We hope that come back for another stay sometime soon. We highly recommend Cozy Oaks!

  • Cozy Oaks is an ideal location for a get away for a couple or a single individual. The amenities are modern with a touch of old school. There is an all-American spareness to it. The bed was unbelievably comfy. It is nicely accessible to the side, off the main road. The host is easy to communicate with, which means quite a bit to me. I would go back there for sure, and recommend it without hesitation as one of the better Airbnbs likely to be found in that area.

    David2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

  • Awesome place with very welcoming hosts. Carla and Craig were great communicators, were flexible when it came to check-in, and Craig gave us a great rundown of the space when we arrived. We loved Hogback Lodge. It was clean, well supplied and in a fantastic location. The wooded seclusion was exactly what we needed for our getaway from the city. It was very comfortable for us as a couple but I imagine it would be an excellent spot for families as well. Plenty of beds and space indoors and out. Thanks again Carla & Craig! We hope to visit Hogback Lodge again.

  • Shari was a great host once again. This was our second stay at her cabin. She answered our questions promptly and was very accommodating. I would recommend her cabin if you are looking for a place in the area.

  • This was our second time staying at this camp. We love it here!! The host (Shari) is amazing! The amenities are awesome, its in a great location and there is so much to do in the area for entertainment. We will continue to book with Shari when we travel to PA!

    Jessica2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were so glad we booked here versus a hotel! So much more private space and outdoor space for kids to explore. With a napping toddler, it was nice she could have her own space while bigger kids were able to play to. We will definitely be back in the future!

    Jessica2019-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice camp, bigger than i expected. Nice firepit, grill for steaks, mud room, perfect place for the money.

    Josh2018-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Shari’s camp is a great place for a group of people looking to get away from the busy life. Very peaceful and love being surrounded by tall trees. All the amenities you can imagine and very clean! Definitely recommend to all and will consider staying again. Thanks for the great stay!

  • My wife and I had a great weekend getaway here. A simple but very comfortable place close to ANF and some little towns but where you feel like you are away from it all.

    Glenn2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Shari was a great out-of-town host, contacting us before our stay to insure we had accurate directions and an easy check-in. This cabin was very accommodating for us and our adventures in the woods. We would recommend it to others and would book again ourselves.

  • If you are looking for a cozy getaway to rest your heads while scoping out the Forest, this is the place to be! Jules and his son go out of their way to make their guests comfortable, and are great to chat with! The back deck, the woods around you, the lack of television to distract you are just a few things which lend themselves to a wonderful “recharge” here at the Brass Lantern.

  • If you want to get away from it all and relax in nature, this is a great place to do that. Excellent value, fine people, and everything you need.

  • Our first time in the area so the lodge is a the perfect rustic but comfy place to stay. Jules was always available to help with hiking suggestions, local info, etc. We particularly liked hanging out on the porches & decks as well as the blazing bonfire last night.

  • The cutest place to stay for a relaxing getaway, complete with a cozy fireplace. Close drive to the Allegheny National Forrest for hiking (RimRock trail is my favorite!) Brian was an exceptional host with staying in communication and making sure all of our needs were met! We will be back to visit in the summer/fall seasons for sure.

  • We loved staying here! The place is adorable. We loved the indoor fireplace and appreciate the ample amount of firewood provided! Only wish it was warmer so we could have used the outdoor one as well. Great for those with pups- ours loved running around the property. Great place for a weekend away.

All 5 star reviews, superhost status! Small intimate log cabin that lives large in the heart of Cook Forest. Minutes from Clarion , Cooksburg and Leeper. No phone, no TV, no internet, sketchy cell service, Cook Forest as it’s meant to be!
Great things come in small packages. This log cabin is very well appointed. Attention has been paid to every detail. The vaulted ceilings provide a space that feels very open and airy.
Deadwood is moments away from the beautiful CLARION river, designated a national scenic waterway. You are only minutes away from two trailheads, the historic BAKER trail and the NORTH COUNTRY trail. You can easily walk to the river and cross the Gravel Lick bridge over the Clarion River.
  • Cabin looks better than the pictures! Great secluded location.

  • Fantastic, super clean and well-appointed cabin near Cook’s Forest. Best for couples or families with 2-3 children who are old enough to climb ladder to sleep in loft. Easy to cook outside on grill or fire pit or inside on small oven/stove. Upscale small kitchen with very nice dishes, pots, pans, etc. Jean though of everything! Great place for quiet reading, writing, and playing games. Loved being able to disconnect from TV, internet & cell phones (no Verizon signal).

The privacy of the woods and the beautiful ferns made for many serene moments with coffee in the mornings ! The Beds were comfortable including the pullout ! My Kids loved the loft bedroom with the ladder ! The additional fridge on the front porch came in handy ! Jean was a wonderful host with great communication and would highly recommend her and Deadwood cabin ! Thanks Jean we will be back !

  • The cabin was the perfect size for 3 adults. I loved it! The loft is super cute and cozy, but probably not suitable for those afraid of heights or with mobility issues. The larger outdoor fridge was a pleasant surprise...I’m guessing it’s a fairly new amenity.

This fully furnished cabin sleeps 8! Lovely rustic cabin to enjoy the peace and total privacy of Cook Forest in Northwestern Pa. 2 bedrooms with one Queen bed, 2 sets of Bunk Beds and a full sleeper sofa. Bath with shower, full kitchen. Remote, but minutes from activities and shops.
This cabin is very secluded and private. Nothing but relaxation and peaceful quite. You will need 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle to reach this property. Only 1/2 mile to the Clarion River, and 3 miles to Cook Forest.
The Neighborhood is total Forest. No other cabins within site. Very private.
  • Nancy’s place was the perfect retreat in the forest. It had everything we needed, was clean and welcoming. Nancy was quick to respond to all of our messages. The cabin was close to everything in Cook Forest

  • If you are looking for a secluded getaway that is also surprisingly close to all of the area attractions, this is the place for you! The drive to the cabin makes the trip!

    Anthony2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. No other houses in view. The driveway is one that you definitely want a 4WD SUV or truck as a car frame will not be able to make it to the lodging. There is WiFi, but do not plan to have super fast access. It was perfect for what we wanted: able to get away somewhere quiet and decompress, but able to check email and do basic web searches. We saw 7 deer within an hour of each other from inside the house the one evening. It is such a wonderful place, we are already making plans to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the sun porch and fire pit.

    Andrea2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! We had a wonderful weekend!

    Jeanene2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a remote secluded cabin this place is for you! You definitely need at least a small SUV with AWD to get to it, but that only added to the adventure aspect. We were traveling 2 adults, a senior dog and a 5 1/2 month old baby and found the space to be adequate but cozy. The cabin was very clean and it was wonderful that we could go on hikes without having to get in the car. We enjoyed our stay and have discussed going back next year.

    Kelly2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful getaway from the hassle of every day life. Cabin was very cosy and very very clear. Especially for being in the woods. No bugs or critters either. We hope to go back.

    Gena2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely perfect for a quiet and relaxing get away. The cabin itself is beautiful and clean, and comes with basically everything you need besides food and beverages. The nearby hiking trails were a treat. There was an outdoor fire pit and an indoor fireplace with wood for both. Being that we came in October we used the indoor fireplace which made the cabin extra cozy, but there is also a furnace to heat the place if needed. Nancy was very quick to respond with any questions we had and offered help if needed. The driveway as stated in other reviews is rough, but I thought it added to the rustic adventure we were looking for. We had no problems getting in or out of the driveway, even after it had rained a bit. Overall would definitely recommend, and hope to go back in the future!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Mary's place! The place had everything we needed and made our work trip very comfortable and relaxing. It was nice to get to meet the hosts and how they showed interest in why we were there. In fact, all of hosts with AirBB have been great to talk to about our work.. we are biologists and students with Ohio University doing research with the wildlife in Ohio and PA. We are very happy with AirBB on these long trips.. it give us the opportunity to visit new places, meet the locals, and help the wildlife! Thanks Mary!!!

We hit the trails during the day and cooked a big dinner and made smores in the firepit outside. Lovely place. Highly recommend to anyone.

History of The Wheeler-Farley House: Be swept back in time to when "Timber was King" when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House. Purchased in 1929 by our great-grandparents, Joseph Allen and Rachel Wheeler Farley, The Wheeler-Farley House is located on land that was once owned by our great-great grandfather, Nelson Platt Wheeler. His company, Wheeler & Dusenbury, was a major player in the timber industry during the 1800s through the early 1900s. At one time, Wheeler & Dusenbury owned 55,000 acres in this area of Pennsylvania now known as The Pennsylvania Wilds. Just about all of the land was sold or donated and is now incorporated into The Allegheny National Forest. As fate would have it, The Wheeler-Farley House came up for sale in the spring of 2006 after being out of the family since 1978. We are so excited to have it back and hope that you will enjoy the land our ancestors loved, as we do, when you stay at The Wheeler-Farley House. While there, look at pictures of days gone by, read about the logging camps of the area and the adventures on The Allegheny River, rafting the logs downstream. Visit an Old Growth Forest at Hearts Content, once a Wheeler & Dusenbury logging camp and now part of The Allegheny National Forest. Referring to The Wheeler-Farley House, the son of the former owner said, Your ancestors sure knew what they were doing, they picked the prettiest place on The Allegheny River. We whole-heatedly agree with him and now want to share this beautiful land with you.
  • This place is beautiful

  • Our family highly recommend’s The Wheeler-Farley House! It is large and roomy, great for a big group or family. It is exceptionally clean. There were ample towels and bedding. The WiFi was an awesome perk! The televisions with cable worked seamlessly. Our group enjoyed sitting on the porches watching the river. The riverbank and large flat rocks are a wonderful place to hang out for the day. The fire pit and grill are perfect for winding down your evening. Bring some yard games and enjoy the spacious area for some fun competition. If your group is looking for some rest and relaxation....this is the place!

  • This beautiful river house was perfect for our family reunion weekend with 8 adults and 8 kids. There was plenty of space; a great downstairs area that was the "kids' bedroom" and a ping pong table; a creek that was perfect the little kids to play in; and a rock that was great for fishing and river-watching. We had some torrential downpours when we were there and there was some damage to the dirt road. Frank was incredibly responsive, replying to our 11pm text in 10 minutes; his caretaker was there the next day with a backhoe to fix it. Highly recommend!

  • The Wheeler Farley House is perfect for a fishing trip with the family or a reunion with friends. The house is beautiful, and so is the surrounding woods and river. We loved every part of our stay. We played golf, went canoeing, and played bocce in the yard while having a fire and cooking out.

  • Great Value and nice, quiet location but close to all the activities! Very clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub room! Hosts were attentive and pleasant.

    Tammy2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the room and the host! Jules is a very sweet, hardworking guy who made sure we were comfortable on all accounts. He very kindly shared all amenities of his house with his and we are very grateful for his hospitality. Breakfast time was a lot of fun because all guests interact in the dining room, like one big family. Jules doggo is the sweetest. He would happily bounce and greet all guests with love. Had a lot of fun conversations with Marc, his son, too. Lots of love from us to Jules & family.

  • If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, peaceful place to stay, this is it! I was hoping for a relaxing weekend, and my stay was just perfect. My room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet; location is great (right on the edge of the forest, so extremely quiet, but just a short drive to the main hiking trails). Jules had a large choice of breakfast foods, and it was nice to talk with him in the mornings. Mark made a bonfire one night, and I enjoyed chatting with him by the fire. There are also grills available for use, and mini-fridges - also a very large covered deck facing the woods which would be wonderful for relaxing on. I was concerned if the roads would be too rough for my elderly car, but Jules gave me directions and the roads were fine. The very last part is a gravel road, but it’s a short distance and as long as you take your time, it was fine even for my car. Highly recommend.

  • Great location. Comviniently located next to Allegheny park. Hot tub was nice after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was good too, continental style.

    Elliott2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a cute and comfortable place to stay! Everything was also very clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay for a few nights in this area. We stayed for only one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is very peaceful and secluded as well.

Our cabin is located near the small settlement of Neilltown (actually a crossroads with 6 homes and a church) 9 miles from Tionesta & Titusville and within the western part of the PA Wilds, adjacent to the Allegheny National Forest.
Forest County is PA’s least populated county where camps outnumber residences. The cabin, Procrastination Station, can sleep 6 to 8 people. It has 2 bedrooms; a queen size bed in one, a queen size bunk bed in the other, a full bath with shower, and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a sofa with a double pull out bed. It has a flat screen TV with DVD player and a DVD Library for young and old alike, games and books. There is a modern wood stove, propane heater, and outside features are a rear deck, a graveled 16ft x 24ft picnic pavilion with picnic table, lawn chairs, gas grille, fire ring and dry firewood. All you have to do is bring your own food or choose restaurants in nearby Pleasantville and Titusville. We have 600 private acres for hiking, biking and enjoying the bear, deer, turkey’s, bobcats, small wildlife, birds, trout and bass fishing at its finest. Hunting can be arranged in season. In nearby Tionesta, Eagles nest along the Allegheny River and soar over the Wilds. You will be close to Cooks Forest State Park with its virgin timber, Tionesta Dam for swimming and boating, tubing, kayaking and canoeing on the Allegheny River, Drakes Well in Titusville - the Birth Place of the Oil Industry, Cornplanter and Oil Creek State Parks, Kinzua Dam & Recreation Area and several huge State Game Lands. We are also adjacent to the Great Lakes Region. Within a 1 ½ hour trip you can be to Lake Erie, Presque Isle, Waldameer Amusement Park, Presque Isle Downs Casino and Racetrack, Wine Country Tours, ski resorts, and more.
Our area of our cabin is very quiet and private. Everyone enjoys their privacy. The Pavilion in the back is very enjoyable.
  • Cabin was very clean with all of the amenities you would need. Very nice porch.

    David2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • It is at a beautiful and peaceful location. We saw so many deer! Jill has so many amenities it’s like being at home! The wrap around porch is great. So many things to see. The pavilion is perfect. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire in the evening. It was so relaxing. I would love to go back again if my travels take me that way again. Highly recommend this place!

    Mary2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful. The bunk beds thrilled the kids and I loved the porch. There are a lot of charming touches (the fire pit and the rocking chairs) but the cabin is also very comfortable. Easily found in a nice, natural location. We had a great stay.

  • 5 Star host and rental. A great place to stay

    Peter2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Procrastination Station Cabin was a perfect getaway for a four generation family!! Unfortunately , the weather wasn't on our side, but we still enjoyed the spacious deck, pavilion and grill. We even managed to sit around the fire between rain drops!! The only thing we had to bring was food and toiletries!

  • Awesome place! We had a great time sitting outside by the fire each night, playin cornhole, grilling out. Place is as described. Very private, clean, and relaxing. Highly recommended

    Alex2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Procrastination station is a relaxing place to get away. We didn't get in until late our first night. Patty's directions were spot on and the home was easy to find. Patty had left a nice note with some info and had left some snacks out for us. Very thoughtful and much appreciated! The location was great! Just 8-10 miles from canoe outfitters on the scenic Allegheny river. Almost all of our time at the house was spent on the great wrap around deck. We really loved the glider chairs! We are already planning another trip to the river and this place is at the top of our list of places to stay at.

  • Wonderful log cabin in the woods!! This place is beautiful and way exceeded our expectations!! We hiked trails on the property, set up a tent and played camp-out with our little ones (too cold to actually sleep outside) built lots of bond fires, and enjoyed the toasty home when it was too cold outside! Don’t forget to buy all groceries needed for your stay(including coffee!), the closest grocery store is pretty far away!! The internet didn’t work but we barely missed it!! Thanks for the wonderful stay!!

  • Sherry & Bill could not have made our 2 night getaway any more relaxing. Despite mother nature’s weather pattern , we found antiquing in the area to be quite a treat! The memory foam mattress was very comfortable and worth a mention. Some Airbnb’s are not as conscientious about comfortable bedding... Beautiful setting for sure and the porch swing in the back nice! We’d love to come back! Tricia & Greg Pittsburgh

  • Very clean! Great hosts and good communication. Highly recommended!

    Dave2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the privacy and beauty of the woods surrounding the cabin. Sherry is a most gracious and kind host, going above and beyond, offering to check hours for where we wanted to go for dinner, and even to pick us up when our original plans were not to drive. She and Billy have created a very comfortable oasis, with all you might need to stay for days if you wished and cook your own meals, as the kitchen had everything. The memory foam mattress was very firm and gave a most comfortable night's sleep. The cabin is quite spacious and well appointed, lots of natural light, and all the furniture was comfortable as well. We will definitely stay here again on our return trip next year!

The cabin is bright, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. Everything you need is there, including full cooking and dining ware, bath towels and shampoo/soap, and freshly made beds with comfy pillows, sheets, and comforters. You will love the outdoor propane grill and fire ring in a peaceful, private setting surrounded by forest views. All within easy reach of the best that Cook Forest has to offer! Please note that access to the upstairs bedroom requires climbing a spiral staircase (see pictures).
The cabin has a water filtration system installed, and tap water is safe and fully potable. Hot water is reliable and in good supply. Internet and wi-fi is available throughout the cabin and the immediate surroundings outside. Streaming entertainment options (Netflix, etc.) can be accessed on the living room TV. Information on hiking trails and other recreational activities at Cook Forest State Park can be found on the Pennsylvania DCNR website. Additionally, there are numerous privately run activities in and around the Cook Forest area, such as kayak rentals, wine and spirits tastings, go karts and arcade games, and petting zoos / wildlife sanctuaries. There is a wonderful indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant located right at the entrance of the private road leading to the cabin. It is open every day from 11AM - 2AM except for Christmas Day. There is a gas station and a few convenience stores for groceries and basic necessities located a short drive away in downtown Leeper.

  • We arrived at this cabin expecting it was beautiful due to the pictures, What we didn't expect was how warm and welcoming it was! As soon as you enter this cabin, you feel like you've stepped into a Hallmark film! It's so comforting and the little touches Connie and Ray add make you feel at home. We discovered that every inch of it was supremely clean, first aid supplies were readily available in case of emergency, and I can't tell you how many times while cooking dinner my children (13 and 16 year old boys) said "it's so peaceful here". for anyone looking to reconnect with older kids (we played board games and trivia games at the gorgeous wooden table dining table) this is the way to go. we could gush for days! Thank you again Connie and Ray

    Amber2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Connie and Ray were great hosts and the cabin was just wonderful- very, very clean and well-stocked. They thought of everything!! We didn't want to leave and hope to return!

    Jennifer2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was amazing. It was spotless, had nice touches of decor that made it feel like home, and the location was perfect. Everything was smooth and relaxing.

    Scott2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of seven adults and five kids fit perfectly in this beautiful retreat in the woods. We were so surprised to find the cabin completely decorated for Christmas - tree, wreaths, and everything...down to the dishes! This personal touch made it all the more special as we were celebrating our family Christmas weekend. The kids enjoyed playing outside and s’mores on the fire. Connie and Ray’s home is a perfect getaway for anyone who is looking for a very homey cabin near Cooks Forest. Loved this place and would definitely recommend!!!

  • This cabin was the cleanest cabin I’ve ever stayed at at Cooks Forest. Great location. Close to everything, yet off the main road and super quiet. We saw tons of wildlife! It was a great stay!

  • We had a great time at Connie and Ray's Cabin. The communication was super easy and quick. The area is very peaceful, a perfect weekend getaway to reset! Would absolutely recommend to stay there!

    Bethany2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a perfect weekend trip away. In the heart of Cook Forest, and very close to the Knotty Pines bar. The cabin was very well stocked, with everything we needed to cook with. There was plenty of wood cut for us and outdoor chairs for by the fire. It was very clean and slept 8 of us comfortably. The spiral stair case was a little challenging for some of us taller ladies, but not really an issue, as we didn’t spend a lot of time in our bedrooms. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away.

    Wagon Wheel
The Wagon Wheel is our smallest and perhaps coziest cabin. It is nestled in a secluded, reasonably mature oak forest, just under a mile south of 36 on Turkey Ridge Lane.      The front door opens into the living room furnished with rustic furniture and a very nice stone fireplace, currently sporting a gas log fire place.  Just a few steps through the living room and you are standing in the kitchen, outfitted with a gas range, refrigerator, pots, pans, coffee pot, toaster, and gadgets galore.  We expect you will find what you will need here for any creative cabin cooking you get into.        The fireplace is in the center of the cabin with a hallway leading to the bathroom and two bedrooms just to its left. Each bedroom has a full bed, two windows, a lamp, night stand, and chest of drawers.      The back door of the cabin opens out of the kitchen onto a deck with steps and a hand rail down to the fire pit and a picnic table.

  • A fantastic find; the wrap around porch is reminiscent of a Cracker Barrel Porch; there is an upper level deck with tables, chairs and candlelight with a lovely view of field and wooded area. It is in great shape with evidence of continuous high quality upgrade work. Jules and his son Mark are great to talk to and helpful in all things; we much enjoyed a warm and cozy fire in the fire pit after a late summer rain.

This humble cabin resides along Route 66 and on the very edge of the Allegheny Forest. There is no shortage of seasonal activities to be had! (Listed under "The Neighborhood")
There are many things to do depending on the season hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking & more. Hunting: Around 7,200 acres are open to hunting, trapping and training dogs during their established seasons. Deer, turkey, bear and squirrel can be found in the park. What we love about the neighborhood other than it's wonderful, genuine people and very laid-back, peaceful, even idyllic atmosphere that takes you back to a time when life was simple, and that the house is quaintly and uniquely secluded. . .situated as the last one on a tiny stretch of road surrounded by forest and water. We own the tiny cottage behind it, our deceased parent's lifelong friends own the vacation home on the water next to our property, with their friends living just downstream to the south, and another set of long time friends adjacent. So it has that comfortable, secure, family feel to it where everyone has known each other for many, many years.
  • Host was a great communicator. They answered every question before I could even ask it! Highly recommended.

  • This place is outstanding! You could not be more on the river and the view is gorgeous. The cabin has a charm that cannot be accurately described in a review—you just simply have to experience for yourself. If you’re looking to book a trip and have this place as one of your options, forget the others—this is where you want to be.

  • This place is great! Cannot beat the waterfront views and secluded feeling this place provides. Very clean, loaded with anything you could think of in the kitchen and a great, communicative host (among many other pros)! Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly, highly recommended.

  • Great views of the water and a pretty secluded place to relax. Due to most guests leaving things behind we had just about everything to cook as far as oils/spices/condiments. The furniture, decor, towels and linens are all very basic and outdated, but for a cabin in the woods in Pennsylvania....We didn’t expect a 5 star hotel. (But if you’re particular about towels/linens - I would suggest bringing your own). Definitely a very off the beaten path location so I would highly suggest bringing enough food/beverages with you so you don’t have to drive 30-40min to replenish. Overall Brian’s place was a perfect location for a quiet getaway and a digital detox (as the service is pretty much non existent even with Verizon. If you need WiFi while visiting here, a personal hotspot is necessary).

  • Had an amazing birthday get away at this house! Everything we needed was supplied for us and Brian was always so quick with responses. Definitely plan to come back in the winter!

  • Brian is an absolutely thoughtful host! He has put together all the instructions and recommendation for you to make the most out of your stay at his airbnb. His log house is gorgeous and very comfortable. You can find a lot of extra things you would need around the house. We enjoyed the snowy January sitting in the warm cozy living room with the gorgeous view of lake in front of us. The hot tub is a prefect addition for the snowy nights especially since Brian has all the instruction for proper use and he makes sure its being well taken care of so the guests enjoy a clean awesome hot tub during their stay. We had a fantastic time with my friends at Brian's airbnb ,making music and hanging out! I absolutely recommend this place to everyone!

Coleman Creek Cabin is nestled alongside a stream in quiet, ancient Cook Forest State Park, steps from the wild & scenic Clarion River. Couples and solo adventurers will enjoy the solitude and scenery, and families will find plenty for the kids to do in the woods. Relax with a picnic creekside or on the patios, then cozy into the beds after an evening of stargazing. Full kitchen plus an outdoor grill.
Secluded, well-appointed lodging on the edge of primeval Cook Forest State Park, offering lovely views and excellent options for outdoor adventuring. Patios both front, with Adirondack chairs, and back, overlooking the creek, provide perfect places to feast - or sip coffee on the sofa by the wood-burning fireplace and picture window.
Cooksburg is a tiny hamlet in western Pennsylvania - much smaller than Punxsutawney. Our groundhogs are wild, and less reliable regarding weather forecasting, but very welcoming. There are a couple small grocers, MacBeth's in Cooksburg, between the forest and the two nearby i-80 towns of Clarion and Brookville.
  • Clean, cozy cabin located on a beautiful lot. The sound of the creek melts away stress and the fireplace completes the experience.

  • We loved our stay in this beautiful cabin very close to Cook Forest and the Clarion River on a fabulous piece of property with a creek out back. We were visited by a family of deer at dusk. The kitchen is very well appointed and we very much enjoyed the fireplace. I would definitely stay here again.

  • this cabin was this cabin was beautiful. The location was secluded and gorgeous. We were close enough to walk to the river which I loved. And I loved the sound of the creek that you could hear from anywhere in the cabin. We were extremely happy with our stay and will definitely be coming back!

  • Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the immaculate cleanliness of the cabin. It looked brand new! The kitchen was fully stocked and even had a spice rack to use. The landscape was absolutely gorgeous. A creek in the back was amazing to hear from the bedroom. There was a pretty large field next to the cabin perfect for kids (or adults) to run around and play. It is also super private with neighbors spaced out to where you can't even see them from the property. Overall this cabin was excellent. I really don'thave anything but good things to say and I wouldn't be surprised to find myself back there again.

  • The cabin is beautiful. The location on the creek is special- the back deck is basically over the creek and you can hear the water from the bedrooms. My family had a great time, kids can’t wait to return.
