A beautiful park with lots of walks, cycle rides and no cars at the moment (July 2020). The cafes are reopening and you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Deer roam the park freely and there are ponds, old oak trees and more.

Beautiful old palace, free to visit the grounds and have a look around, in Bishops Park (also worth a visit).

Cultural hub by Waterloo (15 minutes by train from Putney). So much to see and do, lots of free things and other concerts etc you can buy tickets for. Go for a walk along the river, see all the other sites: the London Eye, Aquarium, Hayward Gallery etc.

Putney is just south of the River Thames in London. It's a bus or tube ride to the museums and galleries in South Kensington, and a train to the South Bank and all it has to offer. Putney has a good high street and lots of restaurants, bars and cafes.

Getting around

Buses, tubes and trains

Buses from Putney go to South Kensington (museums), as well as central London. Tube from East Putney (a 5 minute bus ride: 337) goes to central London, trains from Putney station to Windsor (for the castle) or Waterloo.
