Hiking

This is one of my favorite hikes! It's about 30-45 mins away. There is a beautiful hike around Minnewaska lake, a short hike to a waterfall, or a number of other trails. I believe there is also swimming at the lake in the summer

Nice little walking trail that takes you out to a lighthouse on the Hudson River. Watch the tide schedule because you can only walk out there in low tide. This is a fun little trail for all ages!

Food scene

Order off the specials menu. The tacos here are great. Ask the servers what to order — they are so nice and know the best stuff. They’ve never led me wrong.

City advice

Don't miss

Hudson River Brickyard Trail

about a 2 min walk down the hill is the start of the Hudson River Brickyard Trail. It's lovely! A great place for a walk, run, or bike ride. You can follow it down to Kingston Point Beach (a couple miles walk) where you can swim if you'd like. You could also continue riding your bike to the Rondout District (downtown) though I haven't done this and imagine it is quite hilly!
Don't miss

So much hiking!

I don't even know what to recommend specifically because there are so many options! I just use AllTrails and then filter for what I'm looking for. There are a number of great, easy trails within 15 mins. If you go further into the mountains you can catch some of the more challenging trails (like in Phoenicia).
