This is a social project with the NGO Projects for Children. El Salto del Limon is a waterfall in the middle of a valley in the province of Samaná (Dominican Republic). The Walk lasts around 2h (1h one way + 30min return + 30min relax). you will walk along a hike beginner level path, explaining the local tree species (pineapple, coconut, cocoa, almonds) and seeing and tasting its fruits. You can swim in the two waterfalls and take pictures. On the way back, you will be able to eat typical food (rice with chicken, beans and salad) with a family from the community and learn how these powerful women live from their natural environment. El día empieza a las 9:00 cuando nos encontraremos al muelle de Samaná y nos subiremos al catamarán. Aquí podrán disfrutar de un cómodo y divertido viaje en catamaran con refrigerio NO alcoolico incluido (agua, coca cola y sprite) acompañados de nuestro staff que habla varios idiomas. Después de 45 minutos de navegación llegaremos al Parque Nacional Los Haitises, donde visitaremos sus místicas cuevas tainas donde todavía se pueden encontrar pintogramas antiguos. En Los Haitises se pueden observar tres diferentes tipos de manglares (blanco, negro y rojo). Después de la visita a una pequeña playa, empezaremos el recorrido hacia el Cayo Levantado pasando por la Isla de Las Aves, donde podrán observar diferentes tipos de aves. Después de 45 minutos de navegación en catamaran llegaremos al maravilloso Cayo Levantado. Aquí disfrutaremos de un rico almuerzo con pescado, pollo, ensalada, pasta, arroz, tostones, fruta y bebidas. Y después de almuerzo? Un buen baño o una rica siesta en la paradisíaca playa del Cayo Levantado. Alrededor de la 16 de la tarde volveremos al muelle de Samaná para desembarcar de nuestro catamarán después de un día lleno de aventuras y recuerdos maravillosos. El catamarán tiene asientos para grupo de 35-60. La bebida del almuerzo es una bebida no alcoolica ( agua o coca cola). El catamarán que usamos tiene espacio para un grupo de 35-60 personas.

También Puedes nadar en las dos cascadas y tomar hermosa fotos panoramica. En el camino de regreso, podrán comer comida típica Dominicana,moro de guandules con coco,pollo, carné de re frijoles y ensalada) y al final del almuerzo un rico café,de las manos de una familia de la comunidad y aprender cómo viven estas poderosas mujeres de su entorno natural. If you are tired of doing excursions where you see and live the same as all tourists, you have to live this experience. You can visit the Cascada del Limón with a local guide, with more than 8 years of experience doing this route. We will leave from the coffee area, we choose this route because the views are more spectacular and the waterfall can be seen from the mountain in front, leaving a super beautiful panoramic view. On the way, different fruits will be tasted, depending on the time of year, such as coconut water, pineapple, cocoa. And different plants will smell, such as orange leaf, timacle, oregano etc. A unique experience, not only to see the Limón Waterfall, but also to know the fruits, plants, vegetation and birds of the area. Comfortable and sporty shoes are recommended, you will cross rivers and areas with mud The excursion includes Dominican Creole food and a drink to choose between water, juice or soft drink, which will be made at the end of the excursion in one of the restaurants in the area with a natural pool to crown the day, or before leaving if the excursion it was done in the afternoon. The route has a low-medium difficulty and the excursion lasts approximately 2:30 hours with 30 minutes to rest.

Watch the sunrise or sunset in El Limon Waterfall and feel the soul of old Tainos. We'll walk 1.5-mile(2,5 km) among palm trees crossing a small river. We will stop at the top of the mountain to enjoy el Limon Waterfall getting to know the rural Dominican culture, enjoying the different sounds of the waterfall and drinking a delicious organic coffee in front of a bonfire. Sunrise Hike (6:30am) Your guide will be Cesar. You will walk early in the morning before the sunrise with the sounds of the wild nature and we will arrive to have breakfast Sunset Hike (4:30pm) You will walk in the evening before the sunset and have dinner with the family of Cesar If you come on full moon, the experience will be EVEN MORE AMAZING! This Hiking Trail + Kayaking Tour start from Caño Hondo/Sabana de La Mar port. We will hike around 2 hours along the Humid Forest in the Los Haitises National Park. You will learn about the medicinal plants of this area, see the broadleaf rain forest primary and secondary Los Haitises National Park mountains and at the same time reach the spring of the Jivales River from which the waters of the natural pools of Eco-lodge Caño Hondo. (We have also an option of only hiking in the Rain forest for Trekking lovers) Then we take the equipment required for your safety (Lifejackets, etc), kayaks and going through mangrove swamps. You will see some bird-filled mangroves, rolling hills of lush vegetation. Through the mangroves and Land at the open San Lorenzo Bay, from where you can photograph the rugged forest landscape. The national park’s name comes from its original inhabitants, the Taino Indians. In their language “Haitises” translates to highlands or Hills, a reference to the coastline’s steep geological formations with Limestones. Kayaking it is 2 hours. In case you will like this trip short we have a second option: Only Kayaking in Los Haitises 4 or 2 h. Time for all our tours is flexible. We can adapt it to your needs. The Tour finishes at the starting point in Los Haitises National Park. We recommend this trip early in the morning to see Manatees, crustaceans, and dolphins.
