Vacation rentals in San Carlos

This place was perfect for a quick overnight stay, offering the bare essentials needed for a comfortable rest. Communication was fast and friendly, making check-in seamless. We used it as a slight detour midway between Liberia Airport and La Fortuna, and it worked out great. The location is convenient to the downtown area and just a short drive to Rio Celeste. Directions were perfect and easy to follow, though parking might be tight when multiple units are rented at the same time. Plus, the view from the deck is beautiful—a lovely bonus to an already ideal stop!

This was by far one of our absolute favorites!! We booked last min for just an overnight visit and was sad to leave. We could have easily spent our entire vacation there. The cabin was spotless, had comfy beds, gorgeous gardens and wildlife all around. Rick was super responsive to all of my questions and even shared some photos of the toucans prior to even arriving. Thank you so much for making my mom’s visit even better than she could have imagined. We can’t wait to come back and visit.

What an amazing experience at GAR! The rescue and the surrounding area are truly beautiful and it's cooler than the beaches! Luis, Mailyn, Ronald and Jose take such great care of the animals and property! There's so much to do: horse back riding, ATVs, hikes, and interacting with the animals that are clearly happy to be there. The sunsets seen from the rescue are truly spectacular. Just a short drive from the property are hot springs, waterfalls, rain forests, sloth viewing tours, and a national park with amazing hikes and views. The small town of Guayabo offers groceries, a great restaurants and even a swim up bar! For offsite activities we recommend a local tour guide, Dediere Cascante! He speaks English quite well and is one friendly and knowledgeable local, long attached to GAR. The villas are clean, spacious, and well appointed. Do not hesitate to book some time at GAR -it will forever be in our hearts! We even managed to adopt one of the puppies and bring her home!

Kevin and Liz were wonderful hosts, we felt right at home and the kids LOVED their sweet doggos! Kevin's recommendation to a nearby hot spring park was one of our best days in Costa Rica. We had dinner at the neighbours and the food was wonderful. The daily coffee/breakfast was delicious. Felt like an authentic Costa Rican experience!

Le logement était exactement ce à quoi on s’attendait après avoir consulté l’annonce et les commentaires des invités précédents. Anjelica est une hôte exemplaire, attentionnée, ouverte d’esprit et ses déjeuners sont succulents. Elle nous permettait d’utiliser sa cuisine extérieure, ce qui nous permettait de passer de belles soirées en nature. La terrasse du cottage a une vue époustouflante sur la vallée.

Lugar acogedor, perfecto para descansar y disfrutar de la naturaleza, tucanes que llegan al patio, la fogata en la noche y la casa muy bonita.

Wir haben eine Nacht übernachtet. mehr wäre auch ok, gewesen, es gibt viel zu entdecken drumherum. von der Terrasse aus, haben wir einen Fischertucan und andere Vögel beobachten können. es war sehr idyllisch. sehr ruhig gelegen (nur die Natur hört man). wer keinen 4x4 hat, parkt ggf lieber oben und fährt nicht zum Haus runter.

Candyce bietet hier eine sehr nette Unterkunft mit super (Weit-) Blick in die tolle Landschaft. Der eigene Zugang zum Rio Celeste ist phänomenal. Die Essensempfehlung von Candyce war sehr gut. Außerdem waren die frischen Frühstückseier von den hofeigenen Hühner waren sehr lecker.

Such a cute Airbnb! Clean, modern, cozy. The view is beautiful & close to Rio Celeste. Host is very responsive. Would stay here again!
